I just started rowing a week ago Jim--- it is a KILLER workout! I can only stay on there for 15 minutes before I feel likeI'm going to break. How was that on your knee though--ok?1 -

Calories: Yes/Under
Exercise: Yes, Gym: 80 Min. elliptical climber HIIT and 1/2 mile walk cool down
Comments: A very tiring and stressful day today--- I really wanted to eat my stressed out emotions--- hate days like that. I fought all day to stay on target--- I did stay under, but ate an extra 1/2 pint of Enlightened ice cream--- brining my carbs up a bit more than I had planned-- still under 100g--- hoping the whole week isn't like today.3 -

Yeah, it took me about 10 mins to get the hang of it, but after I found the rhythm, it was good. Wasn't bad on my knee..kinda favored it a little but as long as I don't twist on it, it doesn't hurt. Had to crawl to the car and take a nap when I got home..lol.2 -

Hiking! I’ve only done it the one time but I’m so excited to go again this Saturday! By far one of the hardest exercises I have ever done and the accomplished feeling I got at the top of the mountain and then again when we made it back to the truck was so incredible! I just gotta remember the sunscreen 😬😖
Good for you! Wife and I go almost every year to Asheville, NC in the late fall to watch the leaves turn in the Smokies and eat at every restaurant on our list. Gonna be different this year. We going hiking. Never gone, but excited to try, now that I've lost a few pounds and in much better shape. I can't wait.3 -

I took my son to soccer practice. I like to multi-task, so as he was practicing, I was walking around the fields. Managed to get 3 miles in - about 64 minutes. But I wasn't concerned about the time - I just wanted to get the walk in. Now I am home and playing on MFP for a little bit. Will be tucking the kids into bed soon. Hope everyone had a wonderful Monday!2 -
Question of the Week:
What is something you started doing recently that you wish you'd started doing a long time ago?
For me, using a food scale - the first 3 times I tried losing weight with MFP. A food scale totally opened my eyes as to portions vs. servings, cups vs. grams. Cannot believe the huge difference!!!1 -
Something i started recently ( within the year) is walk the dog. We got him last Sept and he needs daily walks. I could and have lounged all day, but he forces me to a least get a walk every evening.Comments: A very tiring and stressful day today--- I really wanted to eat my stressed out emotions--- hate days like that. Comments: Today was a stressful day, I ate a little more than I wanted to but I didn't go over my budget so there's that. The next week and a half really need to go as planned because next week I am having a minor procedure done and I have to stay out of the gym for an agonizing 3 days, but if I stick to the plan, everything will be fine.2 -

Well, I've been doing Keto for over a year, but do wish I'd started sooner! Someone had recommended it to me over two or three years ago, but I just wasn't ready to change. So glad I finally did it!! What a game changer!

I too am super busy getting things ready for the new school year. I've been in my classroom for many countless hours already, and spent over 700$ getting set up nice. Yay teacherlife!

Cheer up! Sorry it was a stressful day. Those always suck. Sucks even more when food makes it feel better, lol. I always try to remember that the food comfort is only temporary. And it will make me feel worse the next day. I have no doubt that you will bounce back!!! And - you got a gym session in with some walking too! That's an accomplishment in itself when you are feeling tired and stressed!1 -

I have looked at keto before. Super glad it is working for you! Finding that something - a change in lifestyle; an activity; Whatever finally "clicks" and makes things happen - makes all the difference!1 -

Would like to inform my group that sadly, I won't be reporting today unless I find a way to make it down the stairs. The evil rower from hell yesterday has me hurting in places I have never hurt before. Took me 30 mins to get out of bed and crawl across the floor to the bathroom. I gained no sympathy from my family. The wife told me to "keep your old *kitten* off the rower if you want to see 62", as she headed out the door. Texted my youngest son, the pharmacist for advice (maybe there's a miracle pill) and was told to "suck it up, old man". My oldest son asked me where I was rowing to. Bless his heart.
Best plan so far is to get a mattress from a spare room and slide down the stairs like a sled. Maybe even tie a rope to my fat Lab and let her pull me down. She is totally against that option. Unless I fry her some bacon.
Y'all have a good day. Go lose weight.3 -

Oh no!! This will be me tomorrow--- after starting weight classes again today. AYE!!!
That rower is the devil!! Yes! I would recommend an epsom salt bath if you can get in the tub. The magnesium heals up those muscles sooner... and probably will help the knee too. If you can walk--- walking actually will help your DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness) also.
Hope you feel better soon!!2 -

@jcgator2016 That's me, so many times over the last 2 years chasing gains...and yep, @SLIMn2016 is right, moving does help DOMS, however, I have had those days right after destroying my muscles where I can't even get down the stairs TO walk so, I get it, but if I can walk, I do. Yesterday I was extremely sore and could barely walk down the stairs, but forced myself to and today I feel much better, if you can't walk, try heat and ice (alternating) that can help too, maybe if you can find someone with sympathy to get it for you, stretching and foam rolling can help too.1 -

Track: Yes
Calories: Yes/Under/IF
Exercise: Yes, Gym: Body Pump class & 60 Min. elliptical climber
Comments: This morning's Body Pump class, after a year off to recover from injury, was extremely hard for me--- that is a class that I used to take regularly and today I could barely get through it with lots of modifications and light (or no) weights. I have a long road to get back in shape now--- but it's well worth the effort. Trying to stay positive during the struggle.
We can do this!3 -
Hey guys, random question.
We have 2 other teams who need captains, is there anyone here who would like to become a captain (and move to another team)? I know it's a big ask, we've got one team who has been without a captain for months and another one whose captain has become a bit too busy to do it. I know it's a big ask and I hate to lose anyone, but I think we've got a lot of great inspirational members who could be great at being a captain and helping the other teams out.
Captain's responsibilities include:
Team Motivation--try to help keep the team motivated
Entering weights into the spreadsheet, you'd get editor access
Please let me know if you'd be interested.

@AB0215 - I would hate to leave this team, and would hate for anyone else to leave either. But, as circumstances change, we must adapt. Serving the needs of others is a big part of my life - why should that end just because it is on a screen. I will be the first to volunteer to captain another team (maybe I'll get the whole what week we are on thing down sooner... lol). Once official, if selected, I will move my introduction from The Slimsons September to that teams intro.
Team Slimsons - if I indeed move, I leave these words (I know we have only known each other a short while, but still...)
Do not give up on yourselves. You are indeed worthy of all good things. But good things are not always the easiest attained. Most times it takes hard work, dedication. It takes struggle. At times it will come natural - easy as pie. Others, not so much. But ALWAYS know you are worth the reward - because your life and health IS the reward.

@BEASTFIELD314 Jason--thank you for volunteering, I have found a replacement for one of the teams and I am hopeful that someone on the last team will step up and volunteer, however, there might still be a need for another captain as we haven't heard from another captain in over 10 days. If we don't need a captain anywhere, I would be extremely happy to have you as my Co-Captain (should you accept). You are a terrific motivator and I have certainly enjoyed having you and will miss you on this team should you move, but I believe you will be the great captain that they need should no one else step up. I really get the calling to help others, it's one that I feel as well and something I really enjoy, and it really keeps me going when I run out of motivation to help myself.
Thank you again for volunteering, I will let you know in the next couple days what is happening.2 -

Second job tonight. We were very slow today at my day job, so I took a mile walk. Getting paid and getting healthy, lol! Just got home from the cleaning gig. My stomach has been starting to ache after I eat, and a little while I'm not... almost like acid reflux but not. Does that make sense? Tomorrow I am going to not do my 16:8 and will eat 3 meals, but stay within goal. Just want to see if that makes a difference. Anyway - hope you all had a wonderful day!!!!3 -
