December 2018 Move Your *kitten* Challenge

With all the sickos out there abusing doggies/kitties and other creatures, I would love to take one in to love and care for it. I have been prescribed a companion animal by my doctor, but where I live unless it is a working dog, I can't have a doggie. But I donate tons of spare cash to animal charities to help these abused animals. Maybe someday I will have a fur baby again.

@lamlam, I hope you're feeling better! It's that time of year where all kinds of sicknesses are around!
@clepant, You are such of a generous soul! Your dogs "know" they are LOVED! My dogs are at the boarder right now & I hate it. They don't get exercised, its sorta cold in there & they don't get much attention but it's the only boarder in town. I miss them very much & I know they miss me & will be super excited when they see me!
We are in Arkansas with our son & GF. It was 50* with flowers still blooming outside! AMAZING! I took their little dog for 2 miles of walking! He's outta shape. Had to bring him back so he wouldn't croak! LOL

Congratulations to @lamlam2013 and @2essie on making their goals! Way to go.
@vhuber - enjoy your time in the "warm" weather. In Florida 50 is extreme cold. Which just goes to show how its all relative.2 -

@kar: My dogs are the best. All of my dogs were either given to me or rescued. A few were purebred but my mixed pedigree have always been the best. To mean my guy is absolutely a sweetheart. I would miss him terribly.
@anaconda: I hope you can have a dog some day. They are the best companions.
Merit use to run two miles with me in her better days. This guy always did my mile loop in my neighborhood.
@lamlam: Hope you feel back to your healthy self soon.
Vhuber: Enjoy your trip. We may kit 59 temp. before the end of the week. We are .66 inches from setting the year’s highest rainfall for our area. The record went to 2004 when Hurricane Ivan came through. But this year, it seems that my yard has never dried out and my basement keeps leaking.
Dec. 24: Adding 10 miles of biking 6 and walking 4 miles.
TTD: 190 miles.
Here is a photo of my mantle. This my grandfather’s German Santa sleigh and lead reindeer.

I hope you ALL had a wonderful day!! We did with our son & GF. Our other son (with the grandsons) missed us terribly. It is the first year we've been apart. It was quiet & I missed my grandsons rowdiness! We head back to the cold & snow in Montana tomorrow!
Got in 5 miles with the little fur ball in this awesome weather!

He looks a lot like my Merit!0 -
Dec. 25: Hoping everyone that celebrates Christmas had a wonderful day. It was a quiet one at my house but a truly enjoyable day with hubby, dad and dogs. My sister was sick and debated canceling her get together. Then she was wrapping her quarter horse’s leg and the water bucket started him and he slammed her into the stall wall and she hit her head. So she was out of commission for the day.
I got a walk in with my fur baby and a couple miles on the bike.
Adding 6 miles
TTD 196 miles
Anaconda: Your dog is beautiful. I am sure you dearly miss him. As I said, he looks like my Merit in many ways.
Vhuber: Glad you had a good day. Sometimes, you probably feel like me and wish you could be cloned. That way you could be at more than one event at the same time.0 -

Dec. 26: Adding only 5 miles today. Spent 5 hours in the hospital waiting for my dad to get hydration before a CT scan. He came back crying and in pain because they stretched him on his back in an arched position. I pumped Tylenol in him, fed him and pumped fluids to flush his kidneys of the dye. He went to bed exhausted and I managed to strain either my hamstring or gastrocnemius muscle attachment in my bad knee. Can’t quite tell where the pain is coming from except that it hurts to extend my knee. Icing, icing and more icing.
TTD: 201 miles

I get the part of stretching him to get the best picture possible but if it hurts, at least give him something for the pain. Sometimes I think we are kinder to our patients in veterinary medicine than human hospitals are to humans.1 -
I think I'm done commuting until after the first of the year. I may be done with any exercise until the start of the new year. Holiday schedules wipe me out!0

I love all the beautiful Christmas posts. @clepant - your mantel is fabulous. I hope everyone's holiday was as nice as mine. I've had a lovely few days with my husband and boys, including our new Florida tradition: the pre-Christmas mini-golf tournament LOL. Yesterday I finally did my long run and got in 17 SLOW miles. That's as ready as I am going to get for Disney. I have my boys for another week and I intend to enjoy every minute - see you all later! 63/50 puts me at goal.1

A couple of great walks last few days. 4 miles on the beach this morning means new TTD 85 miles0

Some lovely walks along the Prom. Boxing Day was ... weird! The Irish Sea looked wild, but there was hardly a gust of wind!
I think I made goal!!1 -
