I can hardly believe it. Who remembers when we were all waiting to see what would happen to the internet in 2000?

What was your favorite moment during 2018?

    Happy New Year, my friends!!

Shelley, some of us felt really silly when our computers just slid into 2000 without a hitch!

Everything Ronan was my favorite moment during 2018!!

Okay...148.0 at 8:00 this morning. Scale is so nasty some mornings... Starting a "No Junk/Trigger Food" and a "No spending on unnecessary items" competition w/DDD and SIL.
Which means...no new books for me. Trust me, I have plenty of books I haven't read. Ronan doesn't need any more toys or clothes. DDD has a friend w/a boy a little older that Ronan and she passes down his clothes and shoes. Ronan has a lot now. DDD doesn't have space for all of it!! Too funny!

So here we go. I would love to hit 135. That's 13 pounds which is mostly in my belly. Our trainer says that is as low as I can go. She says I have a lot of muscle now...yeah, I'd like to know where all that muscle is hiding...oh, yeah! under all my chub! :D

Another goal is still doing an unassisted pull up...just one...that's all I want right now. I can hold myself but I can't pull my body up yet. Still working on it.

Lol, most of us were waiting for something BIG to happen. And it didn't. We were without internet most of Friday. Chris I was pretty confident you were going to say Ronan. Good luck with the 135. I was thinking 140. An unassisted pull up sounds like a great goal. :)

I was bad last week. And had plans to start cleaner today. I went into the gym feeling great this morning. I did something to my back. Ended up not going to work and having trouble standing because of the stiffness and pain.

My mom visiting us and my brothers surprise visit were my favorites last year. Oh and Kaeldras learning to ride a bike.

145.8 this morning at 7:00!! Wow! I think my scale saw the big hammer sitting next to it on the floor and decided to get smart. We'll just have to see what tomorrow brings.

Ronan is really sick. DDD&SIL took him into ER last night. He was all congested and couldn't breathe. Doc thinks it's a really bad virus. Picked up a humidifier when I was in Target yesterday. I hope it helps. That was pretty funny yesterday...almost ready to check out at Target when SIL texted asking if we had one...I texted back "No" but that I was in Target so let me see what I could find. Did you know they have one that's shaped like an elephant now!! I didn't get that one... :# Things worked out.

Shelley are you going in to see the doc for your back. No fooling around there. Don't make me use my Mom Voice!! Please go in.

I've been really good the past two days...let's see what January brings! We know how this works...we just need to do it and stick to it.

2000 felt like a firework that just went splat. Ooooh, that was it, huh? Then what was all the big deal about???

I don't remember most of last year. Life was all still a swirling blur of destroyed homes, divorce, and a threatening workplace. It was just about hanging on. Then it turned around. I was going to say "because my boss quit" but that wasn't the real reason. It was because so many people at work saw what was happening and rallied together for us. The feeling of support is what made (and still makes) the immense difference.

It's almost two weeks and I'm still sick. Drinking so much orange juice (pure carb) has kicked me out of ketosis and I've gained almost ten pounds. I need to fix this.

My goals for 2019 are (not necessarily in this order):
    • Get my weight back under control: (1) start tracking food again (2) get back into ketosis (3) lose the excess weight, and (4) bounce in the high 130's
    • Work out more again (would love some muscle under my chub)
    • Move Mom into a retirement place
    • Finalize all the legal stuff: (1) our divorce, and (2) the landslide lawsuit

Chris, Orange Juice cuts the congestion and drinking lots and lots of water thins it out. And chicken soup provides additional hydration along with lots of good protein. Hope Ronan is feeling better soon. Poor baby!

Shelley, hope your back is better soon too. A massage therapist was able to fix me in one sitting after I'd been putting up with back pain for months. It was almost a miracle. Hopefully yours can be as easily repaired.

    Happy New Year to everyone!

Chris I so hope to hear that the little guy is better soon. That is awful. Poor little Ronan. An elephant humidifier? Silly, what will they think of next to get us to spend extra money? Send me that hammer when you are done using it. Mine needs a good whack!

Paula I sure hope you get what you believe to be a fair deal on the house. I am still glad no one was hurt in it. And the support at work is very important.

My back is slowly getting better. It popped lots last night. :) I read this somewhere. To help stick to your New Year’s resolution, make the goal or resolution part of your passwords so you are constantly reminded of it.

Shelley the hammer is on its way...

We went over to help DDD this evening. Ronan did not want to take his meds or use his inhaler or play with Grandpa. But after his meds (a whole other story :'( ) he slid off his mom and started showing Grandpa things and talking...a total change! We'll go over tomorrow to help out in the morning after SIL goes to work. We'll see how it goes.

Switched my Friday workout to Saturday if everything is good on Saturday.

    Must go to bed now...

DDD&SIL took Ronan to the ER again this morning. They are still there. Chest xray shows NO pneumonia! They are sending him home with a nebulizer. Still waiting on pins and needles. DDD&SIL are doing great w/him. They are excellent parents. And he is an excellent kid!

Back later with a Ronan update.

I had a couple of favorite moments. Finally getting my parents settled into their new home. They are very happy...especially being able to downsize and getting rid of 30 years of stuff that they don’t need anymore so my siblings and I don’t have to do it later.

Also my trip with Ron to Semana, Dominican Republic and staying at the resort on the private island. Definitely one of my favorite trips.

Now I need to borrow that hammer and crush my scale. :s The bump I’ve been expecting has happened. I am 175.6 this morning...scary. Time to get refocused and get to moving. Late night snacking is also killing me. :( No excuses just get to work.

Chris - I hope Ronan is better very soon. Very glad there’s no pneumonia.

Shelley - I’m glad your back is better.

Time to hit the recumbent bike. I will add my goals for the year on my next post. Writing these things down is important!

    Here’s to a great 2019.

Thank you, ladies. Ronan was doing better last night. The nebulizer works great for him. The inhaler was a horrible experience. The cup had to fit over his mouth and nose. He had to breathe in 5 times. He refused. ugh! Legs and arms everywhere and the worst baby cries. But now it's easy and great because the nebulizer is just like a tiny humidifier. It has medicine in a little chamber that evaporates and he breathes that in. It takes a bit longer but well worth it. He'll go see his doc sometime tomorrow at the clinic...none of us has ever heard about Kaiser's clinic...it'll be interesting. He is so brave and strong. So is his mom!

146.8 this morning because somebody did NOT get on the recumbent bike yesterday or the day before. >:) Working out w/our trainer at 11:00 this morning then a little grocery shopping and then over to Ronan's for a visit.

Kathy...what is your plan for the recumbent? Every day or every other day? We should work on this. I will get on it on the days I don't workout w/our trainer and if I do get on the bike on workout days, it's an extra point...or something cool, like ... <3<3 This will be fun!

Shelley and Paula...what do your two what to do as far as a little competition this month? Do you have bikes? that would be fun!

175.6 this morning. Going to visit Mom today who was under the weather yesterday. Going to the grocery store to get ingredients for a veggie soup. I have to clean up my diet. Too much junk and can tell by mt middle more than the scale.

Chris - I’ve decided to get on the bike everyday and increase the time 5 minutes a day until I get back to 1 hour. My thighs need toning. I’ve also found arm toning/Strengthening exercises on U-tube that I need to do every other day. I need to take advantageous of this unpaid leave we Feds are on by working on myself. Need to work some walks in as well as tennis to get ready for spring season.

    Ambitious...huh :D

Ronan is doing much better. He was having so much fun w/Grandpa yesterday! Made a slow cooker soup for their dinner yesterday. They liked it...SIL took over the end of the recipe and dishing it up. He needs more practice. But they have left-overs and I'm glad for that. I can make the same soup on the stove-top in less time and it will taste better. I'm going to try it again today.

147.6 at 8:00 this morning. Do not know what is going on here...why is the scale going up? I did workout hard yesterday and eating was on point...even under. ugh!

Good plan, Kathy. I'll be getting on the bike in a bit. Biking every day I'm not working w/our trainer. Working on my food.

Got to sleep in again. Tuesday we will have to get up early, early...bwahahah!

    Must go now.

No bike for me, Chris. Anything you pick is fine. I just walk and do dumbbells. Would like to do body weights again, but can't seem to get on the wagon.

Shelley, Hope your back has popped its way back to normalcy. Bad backs are scary.

Chris, Sick babies are scary too! So glad Ronan is doing better.

Kathy, Congratulations on your highs this month. And good luck with the late night munchies - one of my foes too.

Cold is getting better but I'm still drinking OJ to break up the congestion and won't be able to get into ketosis again until that is done. Keeping my other carbs low and proteins high.

144.5 today. At least that number has stopped increasing. Now to reverse the trend again...

So Glad to hear about Ronan, Chris. And the bike you are doing. I love vegetable soups.

Kathy my husband was considered essential. So he always had to work. Enjoy it while you can. An hour sounds like a long time! Wow

Paula looks like weights and walking for us! B)

My back felt worse today. Must have over did it today.

174.6 this morning. Headed the recumbent to get it in.

Tomorrow I’m accompanying my parents to a doctor’s appointment. My dad has labs at 7:00 a.m. and then meets with the doctor. It’s a follow up. I’m sure it will be a good report. My dad feels better when I’m there because I ask a lot of questions.

    Good day alll,

147.6 this morning at 8:00. This was our last 'sleepin' in' morning. DDD back to school tomorrow.

Ronan is getting better and better. He was painting this morning. He has an easel and paints and brushes. He loves to show his art work.

Kathy, I feel better when DH goes to my appts w/me. He asks questions that I forget to ask and he remembers things I don't.

Working out w/trainer at noon. I hope DDD can come along.

Crazy wind and rain yesterday. Supposed to get more today. :D

145.2 this morning. I'll take it.

Feels like my cold is finally ending. Staying home today, but want to start with a little walk again (down to the post office and back - being on a mountain makes it a workout). Need the metabolism in a higher gear.

We have a legal meeting tomorrow about the landslide. I am also the question-asker and note-taker. We must be one organized bunch of gals. :)

Shell, take care of that back!

Paula thanks. And glad to hear you are feeling better. Hope all goes well at the meeting tomorrow. Fingers crossed for you.

Kathy I am glad you are there for your parents. It is important. I also ask lots of questions. I just do not want anyone with me. I am very private about health issues. Secret squirrel kind of. Now get on that bike and pedal!

Chris I am very excited for him. Being sick seems so hard on those that do not understand we are trying to help them. And Casper WY knows all about wind. Crazy wind here a lot.

Stretched this morning and walked some

146.4 this morning at 5:00. That makes me happy!! Man! What a roller coaster ride!

DDD said he's doing great. We'll leave here to pick him up in 30 mins or so.

Made a new stove-top soup yesterday. Revised slow-cooker soup from two days ago. Revised soup pretty good. It's good for DH because it is really low sodium. He hasn't had any yet...go figure. **sigh**

Anyway...only plan today is getting on the bike @ 1:30. I know earlier is better, but I know it wouldn't happen with the Ronan here. He'd want to help... :D

    Have a great day, ladies!

176.4 this morning. Did not work out yesterday....tired after dealing with parents yesterday. Getting on bike this morning.

BTW - I can’t see Paula’s posts. She is sort of greyed out on my feed. Is there anything I need to do correct it?

Kathy, have you tried shutting off your phone completely then starting it back up? That helps me with another app I have.

Ronan is almost back to his old self except for the nasty cough. He was so much fun yesterday!

DDD is a singer. She has a golden voice. One music teacher she was taking lessons from said she had 'perfect pitch' ...I think those were the words...anyway, he said not a lot of singers had it. She was in choir in high school. She had private music teachers while growing up. She joined an adult choir last night and was pretty excited about it. And her high school choir members are talking about starting up a choir w/alumni singers. That would be so great for her! I hope it is fun for her. She works so hard.

146.4 this morning at 5:00. No exercise for me yesterday except heavy lifting of Ronan! Working out w/our trainer at noon today.

Kathy not seeing Paula's posts is like missing a dose of sunshine everyday. Try what Chris said. And Paula will know now also. I hope everything went ok with your parents.

Wow Chris! I think singing would be a lot of fun. I love church choirs. I love listening to lots of music. Anything that is not negative anyways. Folk songs. Another favorite is songs with a story. I like being told a story.

My weight was up a bit today. Must be from my back and not working out as much. Today it is hardly bothering me. So I was able to do the treadmill.

It sounds like Kathy might have accidentally blocked me. Can someone let her know that if that is the case, she should go to her friends list and uncheck the blocked box next to my name.

But it might be my newsfeed. It's spinning its wheels and not appearing for me. So maybe there's a problem with my profile.

Chris & Shell, Would you let me know if you can see this?

    Thanks.

147 today; but have ketone breath, so hopefully I'm going back into ketosis now and the cravings will go away, letting me drop the extra few pounds.

Paula, I can see your posts just fine. No problems. Let's see if this ^^ helps her.

DDD had a lot of fun at choir practice...she said there were about 100 singers there! big choir for sure.

145.4 this morning at 5:00. That makes me happy! Thought I was going to be stuck in the 146's forever. Happy! Happy! Happy!

Getting the boys in about 25 mins. Back later.

Chris, I was 145.5 this morning - and since I round off, this is as close as possible to 145.4, so were twinsies! :)

Felt like I was breathing in paint fumes today, the ketone breath is so strong, a good sign. Usually I like it, don't know why it felt too too today, but it's a really good sign, that makes me happy.

Chris I am glad DDD enjoyed her practice. sounds like so much fun.

Hubby is going to be having his knee replaced next month. Sounds scary. I know lots of folks who have had it done. But he is my hubby. So now it is personal. Scary. :'(

146.2 this morning at 5:00. Yesterday was a tease...Paula we were only twins for a short time. I'm still down from Wed. Down a -.2 is still a loss.

Had Ronan and Bean this morning. Went to my workout and let our trainer beat me up! I still have to go shopping in a bit. Glad it's Friday. We get to sleep in tomorrow.

When DH had his hips replaced it was scary. Then he had his lower back fixed. Again scary! But...everything worked out just fine. It will work out alright for your hubby, Shelley.
