My goal didn't happen, but I'm still pretty happy. Especially considering I ate out a lot. February goal 141.5lbs. Thats 3.3lb, that is a realistic goal to me.1 -

@lbride Normally the working out doesn’t affect me so much in terms of weight loss. I’m more likely to be affected by hormones & diet (sodium, alcohol and sugar). But perhaps the sudden increase has had an effect. Getting so close to your goal must make it harder to lose. You don’t necessarily have to lift heavy to recomp, a lower resistance with higher rep rate can also work.
@RobinAlex666 If the gain doesn’t match with how you feel then perhaps it’s just a bit of bloat/hormones/sodium. I’m sure you’ll be just fine!
@Crafty_camper123 Well done on your progress with the loss and the running, and I think you are sensible to eat around maintenance to help with the running. Remember: The runger is real!
@HoneyBadger155 Nice progress!
@JRIV60 That’s a fab achievement for the month so far! Maybe your goal should be on physical changes rather than weight as much.
@Anniebotnen Oh yes, the scale still creeping downwards is always a victory. And so pleased I’m a regular in the gym again. Hope the Super Bowl party will be good!
@peppermintcaroline Well done on reaching your goal with a week to go! Nice to hear you are living somewhere where you can easily walk. It’s half the battle in keeping your basic energy burn at a decent level.
@leah_not_leia Whoosh! They do feel good, don’t they! Buffet lunches are dangerous, so well done on controlling yourself.
@MaVieEntiere Nice progress so far!
@wellnesschaser Sorry to hear you haven’t bounced back mentally yet. You are right: Focus on you and feeling well, and the rest will follow. Have you considered maybe following a mindfulness course/app or similar to help you with that? Or perhaps something like yoga or pilates.
@retrospect45 Sorry to hear your personal life has affected you negatively. I feel your pain, the last 5 months of 2018 weren’t my happiest either, so I have also decided that being kind to myself and my body is the first step towards feeling better mentally. (And I also carry the dreaded fat around my waist and abdomen, so I feel your pain there too).
The February thread is open for business!
Thanks for encouraging us all!2 -
Weekly check in:
Original SW 172# (1/2014)
Original GW 145# (reached 10/2014)
Post holiday weight 1/2019
1/12/19 148.75#

1/26/19. 146.75
1/31/19. 145.5
1/31/19 GW 147
So I unintentionally beat my end of January goal weight by 1 1/2 lbs. I’m eating about 200 calories more per day than I did when I originally lost weight in 2014, at the rate of 1/2 lb a week. The only explanation I can think of is that my workouts really rev up my metabolism.1 -

Today I forgot to weigh myself in the AM before everything. So after going to the gym, drinking a bottle of water, and eating breakfast, I stepped on the scale. I figure not "gaining" any weight is a win; I'd likely be in the upper 159's if I had just remembered this morning.. oh well, doesn't really matter lol
I did not meet my weight goal for January, but I did meet my goal of going to the gym 4 out of 5 mornings per week AND finally benching 95 lbs for 5 reps!! Moving over the February thread now to keep this going I think I will not be so aggressive with weight goal and just stick to the -.5 lbs/week.

Hi, I just joined the group, and am new to using MFP with any devotion. I am 36 and mom to two young kids. My goal is to get back down to 130-135, which was the weight I was at my fittest about four years ago. I have restarted weight training after a nine month hiatus. And I have restarted my yoga practice. My goal for January is consistancy in my exercise and eating and stop treating both of those things like a temporary state I need to only maintain until I look and feel healthy.

Not excited to post my weekly weigh in:
Starting weight: 1/4/19: 149.5
1/11/19: 147
1/18/19: 144.4
1/25/19: 143.1
2/1/19: 142.6
My loss this week was .5 pounds. My goal is about 1.5 so I was not close to my goal.
After my weigh-in last Friday, I completely ate out of control on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. I had a lot of personal and family situations which stressed me out... and I completely binged and did not exercise. I think I probably ate 1000 calories over maintenance for each of those days. I felt so bloated, embarrassed and frustrated by Monday night. I have eaten within my calorie goal since Monday. I am thankful for a .5 pound weight loss and I have renewed my commitment not to allow stress to throw me off course.
Thank you all for your support.
Total loss is 6.9 pounds for 4 weeks. 13.1 to go0 -
@LynnJ9 , 6.9 lbs in 4 weeks is awesome! Just forget about that binge.0

Thank you, it is just disappointing that at my age I don't have better control. But, I wil take your advice and forget it and move on!0 -
New to this group! I really want to meet my goal by my birthday in March! It's the big 6-0.
Height - 5'9"
CW - 156.1 this morning - a new low, not likely to stay there!
GW - 153 or less
Exercise routine - just added stationary bike sessions using a basic HIIT 30 minute program twice a week - hoping this helps my metabolism. Otherwise, love my 2-3 times a week yoga classes. Who would have thought that I'd learn to stand on my head at my age1 -
