I don't think I can do the yoga poses with this arthritis nagging me. My arms can use some strength, tho. Worked out w/our trainer yesterday and she had me do upper body.

Put on my walking shoes this afternoon and went out in the sprinkling rain. DH and I went around our park that is a block away from our house and managed a half mile. :D ...so proud!

We did get out there and walk this morning. Almost 1 1/2 miles. Crazy as it sounds...it was a little harder than I thought it would be. I'M A WALKER. I'VE WALKED FOR YEARS AND YEARS! HOW CAN 1 1/2 MILES KILL ME???? Man! Gotta get back to it tho...slow and careful.

It was rather pretty this morning. Blue sky...clouds...mocking birds everywhere. Cool!

    Swim lesson - 30 minutes

My second lesson was harder. I feel Iike I regressed. My instructor had to remind me this takes time and don’t get frustrated and be patient. Going back today for the start of regular every Monday class on my off day. Also tennis coaching drills start Tuesday with practice on Thursday. I’m hoping to work in a second swim lesson on Wednesday or Friday. It’s about to get really busy.

Strength training is always needed so I will be arms strength training.

    Have a great week ladies.

Chris thanks so much for this. I need the yoga. I am doing the strength training already. Though the punching looks fun.

Paula keep doing those arm exercises. You can never be to strong. Keep lifting!

Kathy keep with the instructor. They are great motivation. Love your new photo!

I got back in the gym today. It felt great. Being sick really sucked!

Busy couple of days so haven’t posted my workouts.
Monday - I had another 30 minute swimming lesson. Learning to float both back and belly.im learning patience and losing my fear.

Tuesday - tennis coaching drills - 60 minutes. The spring season starts March 17th. I can’t wait.

Swimming lessons Kathy! I would have guessed you could swim as much as you love the beach. Don't tell anyone but I never learned how either! And we had pools at 2 of my homes growing up. I can float, tread water and sink.

Did the yoga last night. It was a nice stretch. Got up and hit the gym this morning. Some A-hole left the bars with large plated on them. It was like a workout before my workout!

I contacted the gym owner - will see what I can afford, but just getting back in the groove will be worth it. Wish you all lived closer.

Paula did you ever get back into the gym?

We have Bean for the weekend. Kids went to Carmel.

Tests weren't satisfactory. View was blocked. Have to go see the Ob doc. Haven't had to do that for 8-9 years!! My pain is back. Not as bad but it still hurts like the devil. I gotta hitch in my get-a-long!! Egads!

    Chris, They Must Fix You!

I am not in that much pain, but will hurt tomorrow. Went to Endurance Fitness class today for free tryout. 90 minutes of working till my muscles ached. Core, yoga and kettle bells. Will go back Wednesday.

Did weights today. I have vertigo pretty bad since my illness. So that is making it a bit more difficult. Laying down for bench press or other exercises and then getting up is a pain.

Have a great workout day everyone!

Shelley, I don't know If I told you this but my DH had to cut way, way back on his sodium to control the vertigo. He had it really bad...would last for days. Everything I make for him is so low in sodium... :p I hope you get better fast.

Chris I do remember you mentioning that. And I have been cutting it back. I have had it in spurts for years. Just seems worse right now. Trying to drink more water also. About fell down at the gym yesterday. Was doing flys on a bench. I was running my mouth and forgot to get up slow. Stood up to fast and got so dizzy I plopped right back down. Stupid.

Karen it is tough some times. Right now my workout partner is covering for me at work any time it involves bending down. She is awesome.

Might be getting a lot of snow tonight. If that happens I will be skipping the gym in the morning.

Shelley, I feel the same way about squats. TRX squats are much better.

Working w/our trainer at noon today. It'll be a good session. DDD is off next week. Hope we can get a couple of workout sessions tog. We'll see what happens.

Chris it was a leg day. The one legged squats are the worst. I did not workout today. I will in the morning.

Karen great job getting back into it!

Been doing my walking. Unfortunately too much. Tuesday we went walking and I'd forgotten I had a lunch date. She was waiting for me at the restaurant and I never showed, arghhhh! I feel so awful.

We've rescheduled for today. I told my walk buddies, if I show up to walk, they're supposed to shoo me away and send me to the restaurant pronto!

Hopefully no walking for me today.

Hope you feel better Shell. I get dizzy when I stand up too. Didn't realize it happened so much. :noway:

Just got back from my workout. Sure hope the spine surgeon schedules me soon. I'll know more on Wednesday. DDD's Principal's mom had the surgery...said her issues sounded exactly like what I have...and she's off all her meds and doing great. She didn't have it done at Kaiser, tho. Got my fingers crossed.
