WAIST AWAYS - April 2019

I'm thinking hard about the four circles. I have two large projects that I will break down this way, but they are not related to weight and fitness. I feel like I have a good practice with those - It has been 7 years since losing 35 pounds, and I have stayed within a tolerable range for that time. When it rises up, as it did recently, I get much more strict with logging and find ways to inspire more intense activity. That's what these teams are for!
But other projects are hard to keep on the road. I retired, thinking that at long last I can get to MY stuff. But I also had a huge "management fatigue". At work I ran a lot of projects, did a lot of administrative work, applied for and managed grants, performances, recordings, etc. On top of teaching unruly university students and herding my colleagues as chair of the department. This fatigue has created a terrible spoiled brat who wants everything to be set up and organised FOR me. I don't want to anymore. But if I don't, it doesn't get done because now it really is MY stuff.
I really like the four circles, so I'm working on what has to go into the month, week, day so that they are both done this year. I'll post it soon!2 -

FINALLY! HOW FAR DID OUR STEPPERS GO LAST WEEK?
Our top 3 steppers outdid themselves last week, and the whole team kept up the pace.
@Kittu125 stepped an incredible 132,309 steps = 110 km / 66 miles
@reflectionofme hit the pavement 106,307 times = 89 km / 53 miles
@sue_01 upped her total to 103,402 steps = 86 km / 51 miles
As a team, there were 841,663 steps = 701 km/ 421 miles. Thinking about Paris - they could have walked to Paris from Andorra. Or from Monaco, with a few km to spare. Well done, all!

The system is certainly universal enough to be used for non-MFP goals. The same "Yard by yard - progress seems hard, Yet inch by inch, progressing's a cinch" always applies. Tiny bite-sized bits of daily progress mount up .... "little drops of water / little grains of sand / make a mighty ocean / and a pleasant land".
I plan to also apply it to my mending basket ...2 -
Baseball for Tuesday ...
10 minutes HIIT on bike; 45 minutes Core Cardio drills; 35 minutes on mini-trampoline (90 minutes total) and 4948 steps. Again not enough steps for baseball, but if you need them to fill in a blank spot in the Stepping Count ....0 -
I'm heading for bed with the beginnings of a cold. Hoping it will pass through without a trace - and the morning will be filled with your baseball wonders for today !3

Is anyone Friends with either @MrsRecinos0507 or @tdrjustus3 Could you let them know via the Wall that we are still waiting for their Week 3 weigh-ins? If they happen to be off-line for the moment, could you let me know?
@jugar ... is it ok if I send each a Private message? This would be a First NWI for each of them.0 -
Head's Up for tomorrow - Wednesday Weigh-Ins:s
@Fourathomej
@karenesg
@offitgoes
@Perla4686
Wednesdays are also our "Why do we do this?" NSV reporting day.
To get us going ... I am continuing to improve on my Core Cardio (Latin Dancing) workout program. I am planing on repeating Wk 2 until I get the hang of the first 2 "classes" (one 40 minutes and the other 45 minutes) before moving on to new "classes".
There are even sections where I am "mis-stepping much closer now" than I was at first ....3 -
I am doing a plank a day. I held my plank for 1:36 today. It’s getting easier. Still hard but I feel stronger. Got a 37 minute walk in today.3 -

I'm going to call that 45+45 - double double! The 90 minute thing is slippery... And steps are not transferable - someone would have to request to be off the steps team - but you could add on to it any time!0 -

I usually send private messages when it is late, but they are both usually late with their weigh-ins. Even though they are not marked as NWI, it is always LWI! Maybe ask if they want to change to a different day?0 -

It would be a blast if everyone tried to get ONE home run by the end of the week. Some of the team have had home runs, but not everyone. Add a few extra minutes, up the steps on a beautiful day, and bask in the glory! The 2-week game ends at the end of the day Saturday. Let's go out in a blaze.1 -

No sad face! With the amount of exercise you are doing, you MUST be building muscle. Changes in body composition are as important as general weight loss - and I'd be willing to bet that you have lost fat and put on muscle. You also must be getting close to your goal weight, unless you're really short like me! You are doing great.2 -

The scale is up from the weekend due to a bourbon binge on Monday night (followed by some baked goods I found in the freezer, all that I failed to log) and a scrumptious salmon, crab cake and halibut dinner out last night. But…. I’m here!!! And recommitted to my daily ‘four circles to success’ plan.
Up early and had a fantastic intermediate/advanced Pilates reformer class. Felt strong and did some work I hadn’t been able to before. The sunshine and warmer temp when I stepped out of the studio were AMAZING so stopped at the nature park and hiked for an hour.. stopping several times to admire the flowers and tree buds (they’re coming!!) … 5464 steps. Whoohoo!
Congrats to @fourathomej!! And to everyone here for showing up and giving it your best.
Have a warm and wonderful day, and keep at it!

I was a late sub, so please remind me .... HOW does one get a Home Run? Can it be a "double-double-single" or have to be "all in one" time and / or steps? (how would "Home Run via combined time and steps work if it is even possible??)0 -
WOW! all four Wednesday Reports already in!! I will log them tonight, and check for Thursday Head's Up .... although I THINK there is a gap until Friday???? (don't have access to the sheet from here)1
