I do NOT recommend Rice-a-roni cilantro lime rice. At least it kept me from eating much. Rain has stopped for a day, it is flooding everywhere. We are on a hill, so it is all good. Didn't get to my house project for the day, but I am cool with that. I hope everyone is having a great week! Tomorrow will be another fast day. Happy fasting!0

Ok well my husband totally ruined my day yesterday... by bringing home a bag of ((stuff I’m trying to stay away from that’s 1100 calories a bag)).... so of course I finally lost my willpower, ate the stuff then figured well since I’ve ruined my day I might as well continue.. and continue I did!! Later, I told him to pls not bring stuff like that home for me... it’s not like HE eats any of it!!!
So, after a bit of pouting this morning, I’ve resigned to put it behind me. I am drinking green tea and that may be all I have until a light dinner! Although the slip last night has also made me think how good I was doing these last two weeks!! So I’m going to continue on and I’ll make this a fast day!! Does anyone else have someone sabotage them ??
Off to get some plants for the garden soon!! And take the dog out!

Hi guys!
I am back from beautiful Salt Lake City, UT! My first time to UT and it was nice! I helped coordinate and plan a meeting out there for work. It was a great meeting and everybody is very happy with how it turned out. Would definitely go back out to SLC again for personal travel. Nice place.
I flew out Monday morning early and returned home yesterday afternoon. Eating was iffy at times but I tried to make healthier choices where ever possible. I had the Greek Yogurt for breakfast which was tasty and for dinner one night I had shrimp. Yum. I am eating regular, lower calories now - 1500 or so until next week. Not sure if we will pick it up on Monday or Tuesday with Light Day. Monday is a holiday and I could really go for a little grilling.
The Memorial Day holiday weekend should be a nice one here. We are expected to have warmth and sunshine and very little chance of showers. WOO HOO! Can you say beach days?!
Congrats on wrapping up school, @KateNkognito ! 50 lbs is doable and you can totally do it! We are with you, 100%! Do you want to come clean our condo when you are done with your house?!
@mamainthekitchen do keep us posted on how it goes with keto. I like some things about it, and some things I don't (for me). Since I am a cancer survivor and suffer from some GI type aliments at times I need to make sure I eat a fair amount of fiber. Beans and sprouted bread are two things I eat often for that. Sure, I could try and do "less carbs" which is still helpful for weight loss. We switched our go to lunch for light days to a lower carb salad. I like it. We will keep at it.
Almost time to wrap it up and head home for the day. Probably going to be a fair amount of Thursday night travelers starting their long weekend, since the weather should be nice.

@mamainthekitchen The people I work with are great, but everything involves food and snacks. If I get a different job next year, I will not miss that part. Sometimes a bad day makes all the good days seem worth the effort.
@Meghan509 Glad your trip went well! I have no intention of fasting on Monday, but I will make good choices. Enjoy the weather and your weekend!

Sounds like an awesome work/travel week Meghan! I’m not at all sure about this 100%keto idea either, as I love fruit & grains. But with my son now being a diabetic reducing carbs is a must for his diet so I’m working most foods around that way of eating for him. Plus he needs to gain weight so extra cals is difficult. He also has had digestive issues, but since he’s started to eat nuts and seeds every day that has totally cleared up!! Unsalted walnuts, almonds, pecans plus a salted delux mix all from bulk mixed together in a jar on our counter... I swear I fill it up every other day!! I don’t miss rice anymore because we do cauliflower rice inplace of rice and potatoes.. but he still will have sweet potatoes & yams once a week. For me, I’ve never felt fuller due to extra fat and protein during a meal, so there is way less snacking in between meals which was a huge problem with me!! I’m also trying to cut down on drinking wine too ... I know you don’t drink much, but I like mixing lots of ice & water with white wine ...so trying to just have one maybe around 8:30 and that’s it. Honestly that’s the hardest part. But try adding some walnuts & pecans to your salads, even chia & hemp seeds are all good fiber rich foods
Yes Kate I’m glad you can relate. And I suppose I shouldn’t actually put blame on the hubs... it’s not like he crammed the bag of treats down my throat... but putting them in our cupboard was first step to an unsuccessful day and blame game is easy, right? I’m 59 & learning!!!

Good morning all!
Hope you had a great weekend. Mine was really, really good! The weather was absolutely awesome. Sunny and warm and beautiful. Not that my batteries needed much recharging, given the fact that we were just on vacation! It was still nice. Stayed local and relaxed and dealt with NO traffic! WOO HOO.
I am back on 5:2 or my version of it. Planning to eat more than 500 calories, but less than 800.

Didn't fast today and had a big lunch, but I burned about 1,000 calories helping a friend move and sweated away a lot of water weight!

Hi all, heading to bed & I almost forgot to log my dinner! I recorded it on paper when weighing everything but didn’t log on phone... so I’ve had a good day today. 18 hr fast in then total of 650 cals for the day! I’m on a roll!!!!!!! Yippee. I’m feeling very determined to continue. Each day is a mental decision to do well and I must add that extra protein helps!!!
Gardening at the folks place tomorrow!!! That’ll be lots of exercise, but hope to get up early enough to do weights before my shower.... do you guys see my halo glowing from where you are???? Hahaha1 -

Can you believe we are winding down to the end of the month of May. Where does the time go?! What I might do is start the June thread on Friday PM since it is easier for me to set it up on a PC vs. on my phone. Let me know your thoughts or if someone else wants to start it on Saturday AM? I am flexible.

Went out and did schoolwork on the porch this morning. The sun is FINALLY out for a couple of days in a row!
If you heard about the tornado in the Midwest, US, it was right by where I am originally from. Debris landed not too far from my parents' house! Glad I moved far away!
Going to go have a little lunch and get some more stuff done. Fasting is supposed to improve brain function and concentration, right? LOL

Wow, Kate those tornadoes looked awful. Thinking of your family and hope that all of those nasty storms are gone and done now. We had some rain up here in southern New England but otherwise pretty low key.
Mama, hope all is good for you! Sounds like you had a great day the other day! Being outside all day sounds like heaven to me. LOL
We are planning to head down to NYC tomorrow to visit with friends. Looking forward to that.

Just another day here. I am going to go for a walk in a little while so I have plenty of calories for dinner. My sons and I are going out to eat since my husband is going out of town. Tomorrow is clean the house day. I have been busy, so I haven't gotten to the book bits, plus we have all been here all the time for two weeks and it just needs a good scrub.
I think I have done pretty well this week eating wise. I only had one day that was "bad," but I was pretty active. Only got one fast in

Hi all, wow busy last couple of days! Gardening at my own house as well at the folks. Out all day today included my first visit to a Whole Foods store!!! O. M. G. !!! Sooooo many options for gluten free, sugar free and an entire section of dairy free!!!! The daughter was in heaven! I loaded up her buggy! Good day was had there!!! Entire section of ready made food!!!!
Saw those tornadoes on our news Kate!! How scary for your parents!!! Hope you have a great night out with your boys!!!!!

I’m using an app for timing a countdown for intermittent fasting... today was 20 hrs! I had tons of water and was so busy I didn’t even think about eating even though I was in a fantastic grocery store for 2hrs!!’ It’s called Zero. I just like it for fun & motivation really.
Yesterday I had Chinese food & wine... I suppose I like a fun day in all this carb & calorie counting!!
