Yesterday, there was a lot of wisdom and honesty shared by our team members. Feel free to add more thoughts on what you know now that you would like to have been able to share with your younger self.
And,
it's worth our time to go back and read and reread what was shared yesterday.
Hope you had a great day!

@n_lai, I hope you can figure out what's going on emotionally and why you feel like you're slipping. Mental is a huge part of this journey we are on. Be easy on yourself. We're pulling for you!8

3 X’s Yes.
Made it with no exercise eat backs today, good practice for getting back into losing for August.
Today’s activity was setting up, breaking down and managing the Farmer’s Market.

A few things that might help (in addition to what others wrote!)
1. Why do I want to lose weight?
Answer:__________________
2. Now ask: why I want that?
Answer:________________
Repeat step 2 until you get to a compelling, core WHY you want to lose weight.
Example:
1. Why do you want to lose weight?
to be healthy
2. Why do you want to be healthy?
so I can live longer
3. Why do you want to live longer?
so I can spend as many years as possible with my husband and son That was IT!
Then I thought about it.
And my Big Why is
I place Health First so I can Actively enjoy the most years possible with my husband & son.
How does a Big Why help!?
So I go somewhere & there is unexpected food there.
I tell myself: Health First. Big Why. I take a moment to remember when I couldn’t hike with them. The leg cramps. Then I think about how fun our hikes are now, our travels. And I tell myself:
This is worth fighting for! With that mindset/reminder, I face the food with a reason to forego the immediate for the long term.
That’s what we are doing.
The Big Why has been invaluable.
Sometimes, we just have to remind ourself of our reasons!
Good luck!8 -
Beautiful summer weather!! Today is an embraceable day.
Exercise: Walking at nice pace
Tracking: good
Calories: I was off by missing lunch due to non-stop client meetings. Fortunately, I did not overdo it at dinner. Under my limit by ok margin4 -
@n_lai I noticed your post from yesterday and came here hoping to say something encouraging, but I see this wonderful community has already replied to today’s post. Firstly, good for you for reaching out. There’s too much I don’t know for me to feel comfortable enough to attempt advice, but I’m hoping something you read here or something you realize as you ponder the situation puts you back in the driver’s seat. Hugs.5

Pass Day #4 for me. I tracked and was under on calories but couldn’t get exercise in. I was watching a sick grandchild all day and now that the day is nearly done I’m pretty sure getting myself off to bed to catch up on sleep is a better choice than exercising.
I’m going to consider it a good challenge. I expect to remain just as committed to following the rules and posting and engaging.5 -

yes, yes, yes, weight is down a shade after having been up a shade. Ugh. I guess that is how that goes.
Got some climb in at my hill repeat spot. Conceivably 1000 or so calories. My climb for the month up to 20,220 feet. My goal 30,000. Only 6 days left in the month to get that remaining 10,000. Not likely going to happen. Oh well.
My hill repeat spot is kind of a popular place with local mountain bikers. They like doing the 10k loop or some of the myriad trails the loop encompasses. I just climb on the top leg of the loop. Locals think me kind of an enigma. I hear that at the bike shop. There was a guy there though doing that climb like I do it. We were out of phase. He was going up when I was going down. Somewhat younger than me. He was one fit dude though. I wish we were in phase so I could have paced him. I got a weird competitive streak in me. Keeps me going though.5 -
