Yesterday's ride up to the start of the Colorado Trail.
J riding through a herd of baby mountain goats.
Route map from the new Garmin Touring. I was really impressed that J rode almost 40 miles on the fat bike. I think he's ready for the Santa Fe half century.0 -
Had to stop and take a picture of this - it's not every day you see a full sized Triceratops when cycling in Surrey (England).

(okay, most of the moving was up and down, but that 1 in 4 cobbler lane was rather bumpy in places...)0 -
Here was today's ride.

New to group, not sure how to post pix in a thread. I think the hardest thing for me is to stop to take the picture...cuz it really messes up my time :laugh:0

My road rides are flat farm lands, not much to see, and I'm usually timing myself, so I dont want to stop. Off road is another deal though. AZ is a awesome state for MTB riding. In and around the Phoenix area are some fantastic trails. They are rough though, being rocky and lots of cactus quivers both in tires and legs. Not to mention the occasional Diamond Back rattlesnake. Not usually for the casual rider, and a FS bike is definitely just about the only bike to have. (although HT bikes climb a whole lot better) Travel just a couple hours North to Prescott or Flagstaff, and you can enjoy riding on nice mountain dirt trails in through Pine trees. We even can do some down hill in the summer at one of Arizona's ski mountains. I love riding in this state.
How cool is it to ride up on this? Petroglyphs from ancient Hohokam Indians, right off of the trail. Location is marked on USGS maps too.Its protected by a chain link fence...if you want to call that protected.

Right-Click, Open in new Window/Tab works. This forum has a very narrow format. It takes up less than 1/4 of my 27" screen width.0 -
Bah, didn't know I had to edit it right then or it would be locked down. Let's try again with a smaller version

And out again on Sunday - 32 miles on a new trail for us - the Western Reserve Greenway from Champion to Orwell in Ohio.

Thought I'd drop in a few shots from my ride today. Was such a perfect day. Rode from my town to the feet of the Shawangunk Ridge and back. I think I will bring my mountain bike sometime soon that way as there are some trails that go up to the top and circle the Skylakes up there.
On the way:

I live and ride on the roads of central Kansas. Many people think that Kansas is "flat as a pancake." That is largely true in the western part of the state. Definitely NOT so much where I live. This is the type of terrain in which I ride. (And don't forget the Kansas winds-which are everywhere!)

Ah, that road looks like some nice climbing work, Spedangie. There has got to be a Strava segment for that one!0

My only day off I planned on a long ride on some trails. It decided to storm but I was determined.
Starting off was a little difficult because it begins in a lower area, pits of mud. Let's just say I needed a shower.
It did at some point begin pouring down but I was in an upper area of ground!1 -
Nice shots, LifeInTheBikeLane -- looks peaceful even with the storm brewing. I like afternoons like that.0
