Hi all!
Happy September!
Congrats on your loss, @KateNkognito!
Yes, I did take measurements @mamainthekitchen so I will check soon on that progress. In the meantime my pants feel looser and bra is fitting nicer. LOL
Enjoying a nice long weekend here.

Wow... September!!! I enjoyed flipping over that calendar this morning... goodbye August!!!
Thanks for the hugs... :) and to answer your question Kate, I want to lose weight to look better in clothes, and to lose the bulging gut when I sit down. Purely selfish reasons of course... I want to smile & laugh and not have my face disappear in chubby cheeks (to be fair I have a chubby cheek kinda face in the first place) but you get it.
Vanity!! But that’s a really good point of just thinking more of eating for health reasons to switch the gears in my brain!! I’ll do that!!

My pal Flossyruby used to have this issue too.... you succeed, are focused and then you slip up and fall and hit rock bottom then you pick yourself up and succeed and are focused.... the cycle continues!! She’d say it’s the challenge of it all, there’s more challenge when you’re trying to pick yourself up, so maybe we self sabotage in order to give ourselves the challenge..!? Ha! “deep”. I must be at the pick myself up stage!!! ;)

Oooh! I’m so glad you’ve measured Meg!! That’ll be interesting for you!! Hope the weekend is fun!
That’s great motivation indeed Kate, congrats on your loss!! I’m going to borrow a bit of your motivation ;)

Reading about the hurricane Dorian swinging by the south eastern coast!! Yikes!

Ok, just reluctantly weighed myself!!! I’m 159.6lbs! So I’m still hovering around 160!! I feel like I should be 170!! :#:p
    Ok I got this!!

Happy Labor (or Labour) Day! Husband is going to grill this afternoon, so I am going to save all my calories for then and have a "sort of" fast day. I will stick with the fish and salad and skip the ice cream and baked potatoes... maybe. LOL
YAY! @mamainthekitchen See! It usually isn't as bad as you think it will be! You got this! @flossyruby1 Used to say that keeping yourself at maintenance weight was the hardest part.
Today's chores include: cleaning my room and finishing my homework and going to pick up the dark circle corrector makeup I won in a drawing. An odd combination of my 10 year old self and 40 year old self! LOL

Hi guys! Egg muffins? Sounds portable which is an awesome idea! Bbq pork tenderloin over mixed greens with a per peri sauce, avo and some broccoli for dinner!! I’ve got a ton of chores tomorrow so hoping I stay focused and get them done!!! It’s Tuesday already people!

Kate I’m glad you remember Flossy too <3 and lol on your dark circle corrector makeup!!!! Can totally relate !!!!!

    Good morning all!

Just got word that my family is all safe and sound in Florida. Hurricane Dorian has passed by SE Florida and is off shore. They are about to open up the hurricane shutters and the sun is back out. Sigh... Sending positive thoughts to the rest of the East Coast USA. <3

Labor Day weekend is officially over sigh... But, doesn't mean summer is over yet! Sunny and warm here still. Enjoying everything while we can. :) Hope the weather is beautiful by you as well.

Weekend was good and productive. Yesterday was kind of rainy so we stayed in and got caught up on some shows on the DVR. Good to do that once in a while!

Eating has been totally clean Keto here. Really enjoying it. :) BF lost a pound when he weighed in yesterday. So he is down between 10-15. I am hopefully down on Friday AM when I weigh. I don't see why I wouldn't be. :)

Egg muffin cups are awesome! I bought one of those cool silicone muffin pans that makes 12 decent sized muffins. Ingredients for the ones I made are: 12 eggs, 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella, 5 ounces of frozen spinach (defrosted), one small tomato chopped, salt, pepper, and any other seasonings. Combine all and pour in to greased muffin pan. I sprayed some olive oil in mine and they didn't stick. We each had two muffins as a late breakfast and they were delish. They come in at just a little less than 100 calories per muffin, per this recipe I made. You can also sub some of the eggs for egg whites, and add other lovely stuff like bacon bits, prosciutto, ham, different veggies. The options are endless!

Going to sign off for now. Too much going on here. Speak to you soon! Have a great day!

I made two kids mad at me today! All because I made them do their work. I know, I am a horrible, mean, terrible person. :D I always feel like I am really doing a good job if they get mad at me once in a while. LOL

@meghan509 I want to get a silicone pan just so I can make some egg muffins like that. I am pretty sure they would stick to the tin that I have. A friend of mine has the individual silicone cups and makes one in the toaster oven.

@mamainthekitchen I hope you get all your stuff done! Nothing like a checked off list!

All you who lurk, HELLO!!! Have a great rest of the week!

    Good morning all!

Things are going really well here. We measured again last night. Been a month on Keto and wanted to check progress. Down quite a few inches throughout my body, especially the chest area (I have plenty to go around). LOL I will weigh on Friday and will know how many pounds down then. Not stressing the scale. Can't do that, knowing how many inches I am down. Feel good too, which is nice. And really less hungry, which is the best thing of all.

@KateNkognito I highly recommend the silicone muffin pans! I bought one on Amazon, the one that was highly rated and less than $10 USD if not mistaken. Great purchase! Cute idea to make them in the toaster oven! Good to fire that up when it is hot out and uses less energy. :)

Thinking that the egg muffins would make a good Light Day meal as they are low in calories and high in protein that help keep you full.

Hope things are good by you, @mamainthekitchen!

I am going to go fill up my water cup and get cracking here. Have a good one!

    Good morning everybody!

Hope things are good in your neck of the woods!

Rolling along on the Keto Train. Been doing really well at getting my full 1200 calories a day and fulfilling my "Macros" Carbs / Protein / Fat percentages.

Feeling good even though I am dealing with a bit of a PMS headache. Life happens. :)

Sounds weird but looking forward to weighing in tomorrow AM.

Going to my Physical Therapist tonight but all in all feeling pretty good. Less hip pain. Low back pain is meh. Could be better but that is a bulging disc that has a mind of its own. Sigh...

If you are fasting today, have a good one! See you soon!

    Hi all,
Hope your PT appoint went well Meghan!
Oh you’ve got patience Kate... I would not make it as a teacher!! They’d really hate me!!! (Of course I hated being a student too) :#

Been so busy... major house cleaning because my vacuum died three weeks ago! And yes I have a big dog that sheds!!! There are so many items to be fixed in the house too! Major gardening done here & at the folks house this week too... so I’m sore all over!
Been pretty good with my eating and actually had a real good fast yesterday... so plugging along!

Hoping Dorian stays from your area Meghan!!!

Have a good one people I’ll try to pop in tomorrow!

    Good morning all!

Good news: I am down two pounds this week! Brings me to a total of 12 pounds lost on Keto in four weeks. Got a ways to go, but still very excited!

Thanks, @mamainthekitchen my PT appt. was good. I love the Dr I see. She is a doll. Yesterday she focused on my lower back pain. Definitely helps! Congrats on your successful fast day! I hear you about cleaning and yard work. Seems this is the time of year for it! Good luck! We recently cleaned out our kitchen of all the old cups, glasses, small appliances, etc. etc. that were not being used. Took up so much space we didn't have. Looks so much better now!

@KateNkognito hope you are keeping those kids in check! Hope you have a nice loss too. :)

Next weekend we are going away for the weekend with some friends of ours (another couple). Planning to indulge in lots of lovely New England seafood and cannot wait!

Hope you have a nice one and I will plan on checking in over the weekend.

Crazy week. I am very sure I will not have a loss this week. Might even gain a bit. Let's just say there were donuts and I was cranky and ordered pizza and leave it at that. :D
@meghan509 Congratulations on the loss! I am glad the appointment went well! Have a nice weekend. I am super jealous, in the midwest, there is just no fresh seafood to be found. :/
@mamainthekitchen If you are sore, you must have worked hard and burned a lot of calories! I can't imagine my vacuum breaking. It wouldn't be pretty. Congrats on the good fast, too!
I am off to pick up the house and then settle in for some homework. I graduate in December. There is light at the end of the tunnel and it isn't a train! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Crazy couple of days! Got the house all vacuumed (in those tricky spots too) really liking my new machine... if that’s possible! However our dog left us a couple of presents on the carpet two days in a row! Husband had to rent rug cleaner two times!!! Right before I’m having company tomorrow!! Been busy cooking & baking for the gluten free, dairy free, sugar free people in my family!!! :s what a ton of work! On the plus side I’ve been too busy to eat so today was a really good fast day!

Glad you’re liking your Dr Meg, soooo important!! Enjoy your get away! I’ve made a clam chowder! Wonder if it compares to your New England fair! Love seafood too!

I cannot believe you are on the homestretch Kate!! Lol on the train! Haha....

    Gotta get some sleep!!!
I may weigh on Monday just for fun since I’ve had no time today nor will I tomorrrow!! Baking a keto lemon pound cake in the morning!!! Suppose to cool for 3 hours before the glaze is drizzled in!! I’ll let you know what I think Meg!! 3.9 carbs per slice!! ;)

Wow! @mamainthekitchen you have been a busy lady! I am coming to your house for dessert! And dogs have the worst timing! I know what you mean about the vacuum, it is a love/hate relationship.
I weighed this morning, gained back all of last week's loss. I am not surprised or disappointed. I am just getting back on track. It is a nice, cool, cloudy morning. I think I will go take the dog for a walk. I really like fall. :) Have a lovely day!

    Good morning all!

Hope you guys had a great weekend! Sounds like everybody was productive!! I was too. Does anyone else feel like they are at Wal Mart (or similar) pretty much every weekend!? Jeez... :)

You are on the home stretch, @KateNkognito! December, wow... Time flies!! I like fall too. The weather has been cooler at night around here, otherwise beautiful.

@mamainthekitchen that Keto Lemon Pound Cake sound fab! Let me know how it comes out! I bought the ingredients over the weekend to make some Keto Peanut Butter Cups. Will let you know when I make 'em!

Weekend went really well. Stuck to my WOE and had a lovely salad with kale and lobster for dinner on Saturday night. Yum! Last night we made Coconut Shrimp in our new Air Fryer! YUM! Good stuff. Stayed up wayyy to late last night watching my New England Patriots beat the Pittsburgh Steelers but it was worth it!

Have a nice one and see you soon!

I had deep thoughts today. It was absolutely a MONDAY of a Monday. But, I was barely tempted by the bucket of candy. This time losing weight feels different. I was considering why that is. What I came up with is: everything else feels like utter chaos in my life, this is the ONE thing I can control. I know myself and my personal history enogh to know I have to be careful, but I am going to take advantage of my turmoil and get rid of this extra weight!
@Meghan509 Glad you had a great weekend! And I am a bit of a Patriots fan too. A lot of the players I tutored in college went there. So, I still like them, even though my guys have all retired.
I have a meeting to go to. Better get a move on or I will fall asleep sitting here.

Gooood eveeeening! First off, what’s with this new “disagree” button!?!? We don’t need that here in this forum!!! We’re a lovely bunch :*

    https://www.sweetashoney.co/keto-lemon-pound-cake-paleo-gluten-free/?utm_medium=social&utm_source=pinterest&utm_campaign=tailwind_smartloop&utm_content=smartloop&utm_term=37372378

Wow, I hope that link hooked up correctly!! This is the lemon almond flour pound cake loaf I made!! Everyone loved it! For the glaze I used about half the ingredients they suggest and really drizzled instead of covering the entire top and it was a tad overpowering with lemon which some liked & some thought too tart. But overall I would make it again. I would serve next time with a few fresh berries and some coconut whipped cream... yum! And of course I used the Lakanto monk fruit sugar, plus for the glaze, I whipped it up in my magic bullet to make powdered sugar and worked like a charm!

I did nothing today except take the dog out for walk! Exhausted after entertaining!!!!!! Although I weighed myself and down .7 lbs... making me 157!! I barely ate my own food yesterday, so busy talking and ‘hosting’!! And all that exercising cleaning!!!! Maybe I should do this more often! Haha

Kate this IS something you can control!! Take time to tell yourself that every day. Deep thoughts are good. You can do this!!!

Glad your weekend was good meghan and yes I’m in a Walmart 2x per week!! And I’m also going to Costco more too.. although it’s about 40min drive! Oh peanut butter cups!!! Omg! That’s the thing with keto... I loved all the fudge and candy you can make, I never did the cups but sure read the recipies and drooled over the pics!!! I did lots of fudge - it seemed more forgiving, and I like them frozen! Looking forward to hearing how those turn out!

Well today I have no idea how many calories I had, 2 egg & ham plus an oz of cheese omelette around 12:30, a cup of tea, then around 4 had some nuts and a 0 cal drink, then leftover hot chicken wings (8) and a garden salad for dinner, plus a 1/2 bottle of white wine!! Well, how long does it last after it’s been opened anyway.....

Good morning guys and gals! Mostly gals LOL!

@KateNkognito good for you for ignoring the candy. I am with you lately. Ever since I restarted and hopped on the Keto wagon, I have not been interested in the candy dish at all. Our lovely office has bowls on each floor, and it is filled with things I LOVE, but no. Not doing that. Not worth it! Sending you positive vibes!
That is so cool that you tutored some players from the NE Patriots. <3

@mamainthekitchen thanks for the links on the desserts! Totally going to check those out. Will keep you posted on the PB cups! Congrats on your loss! Woo hoo! Sounds like you had a good day yesterday!

Wow, good eye. I hadn't noticed the "Disagree" button until you mentioned it. :o

Had a good day yesterday. Our avocados are not quite ripe yet (second day in a row) so been trying to make up those calories other ways. Had a few extra snacks yesterday and same planned for today. Been good about getting to the gym lately. Went on Sunday and on Monday. Planning to go Tuesday and Wednesday PMs as well. On Thursday I have a hair appointment after work, so no gym that night. Trying to at least get in four days a week. :)

Okay, I am off to get some stuff done. See you all soon!

I’ve got lots of trail mix I bought for my party on the weekend... figured bowls of the stuff may appeal to a few people to nibble on... well now I’m grabbing handfuls... I’m sure I can freeze it so I’ll look that up to double check.... cause I cannot continue that habit!! Yikes my poor tummy!

Cottage cheese & grape tomatoes for lunch with my mom tomorrow, so I should have a light day tomorrow! Dinner tonight was beef tenderloin cooked to perfection on the bbq!!!!! Holy! Small serving but delish with green beans from my neighbors!

Hope you all have a great day tomorrow and happy fasting to anyone actually fasting ;)

    Hi all!

Oooh trail mix! That sound awesome @mamainthekitchen! Lately I have really been enjoying almonds and other nuts. Good stuff!

Crazy day today with a big work project. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now. :)

Yesterday went well. Went to the gym last night after work. Ate clean and drank my water. Today so far the same deal. Had a nice salad for lunch and have slotted in something dinner. Will see how it pans out. Sometimes we improvise if we are in the mood for something else or if something is older in the fridge!

Good luck to anyone fasting today. You got this! Hello to Kate and any lurkers. Come stop by and comment. We don't bite! :D

    See you all soon!

People, I fist bumped a kid today and it was wet. :s Not even sure which one it was since I greet 400+ students getting off the buses in the morning. Needless to say, I didn't have much of an appetite until much later. LOL
Did really well eating today. Had maybe a little more chocolate than I should have, but the full moon is on Friday the 13th in two days. Let's just say the kids are a little... unusual this week.

I noticed the "disagree" button and thought it was strange.
I love trail mix and would have a hard time staying away.
Meghan, glad you are doing well.
Mama have a great day! I am actually fasting tomorrow. :)

Hahaa eewww on the wet fist bump Kate!!!! Hahaha

I’m up real early this morning because the hubs was annoyed I was snoring!!! So I got up and realized, I think I’m coming down with a cold!! Ugghhh I haven’t had a cold in a few years!! I can already feel a sore throat!!! And I haven’t fist bumped anyone!! Well, I’m now going to take advantage and have a fast day! Soup & tea are in my future. I’ve also just bought fresh ‘young’ ginger so I’ll be brewing some ginger in hot water too... this may become a good thing? All except the part of starting to feel like crap having a cold!! Argh!

Hope your work project goes well Meghan!

    Happy fist bumping Kate!! Haha

    Hellloooo to anyone else reading...

    Have a good day!

    Good morning all!

Oh man, @KateNkognito!! I am pretty much a germaphobe so I just screamed inside at your fist bump comment! I am the one who wipes down the grocery cart handles, airplane seats and trays, or anything else germy that I come in contact with. :o
Congrats on your good eating yesterday!

@mamainthekitchen ugh, I hate colds! Drink as many fluids as you can. Water, tea, etc. etc. are all your friend. If you can try one of those natural cold remedies like Sambucol. See link below. This is for the tablets. They also have gummies and a liquid. I have found this at my local drug store or supermarket. Maybe you can look in to them by you? FYI, Kate. Might be good for you too, to help with your student germs. ;)

Things are going well here. First time in a LONG time that I have stuck to my WOE and have not cheated. Okay aside from some Tito's vodka and club soda which is still low carb. LOL Otherwise all clean eating. Couldn't make it to the gym last night. Too crazy of a day. But, that's okay. Next week we should be able to get a good full week in. :) Off to make myself a cup of green tea with lemon. See you all soon!

    Good morning all.

Down 2.2 lbs this week. Brings me to 14 lbs down since starting Keto on Monday, August 5. Yup, I am very happy with my results!

Had a good day yesterday. Been sticking to my calorie and macro goals. Planning to hit the gym next week Monday through Wednesday nights.

I probably won't be able to check in over the weekend as we are going away. But, rest assured I'll be back here on Monday AM. ;) Leaving work early today and heading up to a coastal town here in CT. Looking forward to yummy New England Seafood and company with good peeps. <3

    See you all soon!

Congrats Megan!!!! 14 lbs down since aug 5!!! Holy cow! You’re probs needing new pants... heck s whole new wardrobe!! I’m curious, how has your joint pain been?? Wondering cause “they” say that keto can reduce inflammation and ultimately can be attributed to less joint pain ...? Makes sense, and 14 lbs is quite a bit to judge against how you felt prior to keto. At any rate, congratulations!!
Have a fantastic time on your weekend getaway... sounds absolutely awesome!!

I’m still feeling rough. Not blowing my nose or coughing, but all the other feelings of a cold are present!! So no fast day yesterday! My intentions were there for about an hour!! Feed a cold right??? Comfort food was on the menu!! It also was monsoon rain all afternoon!!! So Netflix and meatloaf & mashed potatoes!! Not much as I only used 1 potato for hubs & myself, a bit of seeet potato for the son and extra zucchini for us all... so overall not bad.

I finished off the day with a scotch & hot bath!!! This morning I still feel like a truck hit me!! Also our dog is sick, taking her to vet later this morning :’( Funny how I take her to the vet and I don’t go to the Dr!! lol

It’s FRIDAY 13th!!! Hope you survive the school day Kate!!! And careful driving Meg!!!!

Oh I forgot.. just looked up your link too Meghan, thanks!! At first I thought it was Sambuca... that liqueur you set on fire in a shot glass!! Hahaha. Elderberry !! I’ve read about that, I’ll check around as I’ve not seen that pkg before..... thanks for the link (and the laugh) ;)

And focusing on my own menus!!!!

Hey all! It got crazy at the end of the week there! Full moon fever is real, people. I weighed in this morning and I lost everything I gained the week before and then some. :) Super motivated to do well this week. Hoping to hit 10 pounds before the end of the first 9 weeks of school (October 11). Sounds silly, but it is my motivation. Plus, my school pants are still tight.

@mamainthekitchen I hope you feel better! Dinner sounds super yummy! You are the mom, you can just put an umbrella over the bbq, right?! LOL

@Meghan509 Congratulations on the loss! That is fantastic! I am curious about the joint pain, too. Is it better with low carb? I am starting to have some troubles with an old foot injury and wondering if the low carb helps. (another reason to lose the extra weight)

Ok, I have four assignments due in the next 36 hours, I have to get a move on! Have a great day! (I see all you folks that are lurking!)

    Good morning all!

We had a lot of fun away in Mystic, CT for the weekend. We got up there on Friday evening, before dinner and spent Friday and Saturday nights in the cute bungalow we rented with another couple. Stuck nicely to my Keto WOE and my only "splurge" were some vodka and club soda drinks. :) We had super nice weather. Got to spend a lot of time outside. the place we rented had a really nice patio. So cute. Definitely planning to do that again! Oh yeah and pretty much ate seafood all weekend long. Oysters, lobsters, clams, you name it. As well as some chicken wings!

YES, I totally notice a difference in my inflammation after starting the Keto WOE. My hip pain is less annoying. My back pain - meh, it has its moments but that isn't really inflammation it is a bulging disk in my low back. But, yes I definitely notice a difference. I feel less bloated as well.

Fourteen pounds has made a difference in my pants! My size 14's are fitting looser and I will know more soon when I have to break down and bring out my work pants (slowing turning in to fall here) and those are mostly size 12's. At the start of the summer those were pretty darn tight. I don't think that will be an issue anymore!

Our friends that we were with this past weekend, had not seen us in a few weeks and they noticed a difference. She's like, "you guys look great"! "Can see it in your faces"! "How many sizes are you down"?!

Okay I have been trying to type this post for hours now. Going to sign off for now and will check in soon.

    Have a good one!!
