Hey Gals...happy jump day. Looking for some new healthy fall recipies....any suggestions?
Karen1 -
186.2 this morning...a slight bump. Sodium...I think.
Kathy1 -
Shelley, I would love to have my own puppy, but I'm the only one in this household that does. ...sigh... Bean is a great dog. I love him to the moon and back, but he is a pain on a walk.
Pat had to set up my new Fitbit Inspire because I am not tech friendly. He is so great at that stuff. We'll see how it goes. I miss my Fitbit One.
I don't remember what I weighed this morning. I did not write it down. I'm probably up do to sodium intake, too!!
Chris0 -
Chris that is so sad. Our humane society is always looking for dog walkers. Just borrow Bean more. Why is he a pain on your walk?
I did spend a few minutes of quiet for the old fitbit one.
Karen I only cook high calorie foods. But they are yummy! :drinker:
Kathy I am expecting a bump tomorrow. To much junk tonight.
139.8 this morning

Bean pulls and stops and pulls and stops the entire way. It kills Pat's shoulders.
136.0 this morning at 6:30. We walked then I had lunch w/buddies from work. It was good seeing them. Lunch was wonderful and beautiful and sooo good! Juanita is the best when it comes to cooking for us!
Going to read for the rest of the day.
Chris0 -
It is never to late for training. Hard when he is not always with you though.
Lunch sounds wonderful. My Sun coral arrived today. Hope it survives. The water was off the charts for ammonia and nitrites. I got it out of its water as quickly as possible. The coral is in a fully cycled quarantined tank. Needs to stay in it 65 days. Such a pretty coral.
Got a little over 12000 steps in today. Would have done more but the weather change triggered a migraine.
Shelley0 -
Nice steps, Shelley! Hope your Sun fish is doing okay.
DDD, SIL and Ronan come home today. Sure do miss our grandbaby! We did sleep until 8:00 this morning and somebody...me...did not step on the scale. Guess that means I'm free to eat everything!! Just kidding! We need to go to DDD's and give her cat his meds. He needs them morning and night. SIL's mom did all the night meds. We did all the morning meds.
Have a great Friday, everyone!
Chris0 -
Chris I hope that cat is getting better. I am planning on not weighing in tomorrow morning. Ate to much today and getting up early tomorrow. Going to start talking with a builder about cabins. Glad you were kidding about the eating. But once in a great while is ok. Just not until you take off any weight increase from the previous time.
The coral is doing better.
Shell0 -
Too much salt yesterday...and peanut butter.
Shelley the cat had some organ issue and will be on meds the rest of his life.
The kids got stuck down south due to one of the fires. They shut down two of the major freeways. It took them 14 hours to get home. Normally, it's a 6 hour trip. Man! So we kept Bean for another night and walked w/him this morning.
Chris1 -
137.0 this morning at 6:30. I have my 10,000 steps already. We did 4 miles this morning.
I have to go get xrays of my spine for a phone appt w/my doctor on Wednesday. Thinking about the shot for my hip...might start that process. ***sigh*** maybe...
Hope you guys have a great Sunday!
Chris1 -
137.0 this morning at 5:30. A Rest Day for us. Working out w/our trainer later.
My hip is hurting like crazy.
We have both Ronan and Bean for the morning. Such a difference a week makes. He has more words and is so darn smart! We put puzzles together and he was figuring out how to do it. Asked for help when he couldn't figure it out. Pointed to colors or wheels or fences and he could get it most of the time.
Chris1 -
I’ve had a horrible week food wise and issues with my meds gain. I’m 190.1 this morning and just want to cry. I’ve got to make some major adjustments and get this under control. It’s a little scary. I’ve done nothing but yo yo since I’ve retired.

Our son, Nicholas, has been gone nine years today. I miss him every damn day.
Chris2 -
Kathy that is a fear of mine. Retiring and putting on weight. I am right behind you. Set a pace for us both.
Chris so glad the kids made it home safe. Fires are the worst. We will need some more Ronan photos. Maybe even a group of birthday ones from the beginning.Poor kitty. I hope there is an easy way to give the meds. I asked the administrators of we can be on the same team and then joined.
Chris I never got to know you when he was in your life. But I know Nicholas was a wonderful son through you. I would buy you and go with you to place flowers for Nick if I could. We lost my mother-in-law 9 years hug also. Cooper was only 5. Now he is 14. Time has a way of slipping away so fast. Thanks for being my penpal and friend.
149 this morning. But I eat most of the day of stood in one spot. Tomorrow night be up.

Thank you, Shelley. He was a great kid. One day you turn around and everything changes. They are both in a good place.
Yeppy, yep...retirement causes the scale to go crazy. I know this for a fact!
136.6 this morning at 5:30. May be up tomorrow because of what I ate last night. I could taste the salt in the turkey wrap. Crazy!
We didn't walk this morning or yesterday morning. I caught the kids cold and it's nailing me. SIL started it, gave it to DDD who gave it to Ronan who gave it to me and DH! A family that sticks together...
Chris1 -
My weight bounces between 139 & 140. Sheesh! Sorry you have a cold. Get better soon Chris.
Walking whenever I can. Took Barney out in the dark for a 20 minute quick around the neighborhood walk. Libby On wanted to come. So I let her. No leash. She did great. But I was stressed. So next time she gets a leash on.
Shelley0 -
Still 190.1 this morning. Thank you all for the encouraging words. I know I can turn this around. Have to get over the depression and get to work. Feel better Chris. Shelley, I will work on the reset.
Have a good weekend ladies.
Kathy1 -
Kathy, I'm so sorry you are depressed. I hope you start feeling better. Thank you for your kind words.
137.6 this morning at 5:30. Rest Day. Worked out w/our trainer for an hour this afternoon. So tired by the end of the hour. This cold is killing me!! My nose is so sore.Planning on walking in the morning...in the morning light...with lots of tissue.
Chris1 -
137.4 at 6:30 this morning. We walked and then had breakfast and now, I'm starting a new book!
Have a great Saturday my friends.
Chris1 -
189.6 this morning.
Kathy1 -
136.6 this morning at 7:00. We walked later in the morning. Had Ronan for a couple of hours. Going to read now.
Chris0 -
Kathy every ounce counts! Awesome job.
Chris hope you feel better soon. What are you reading now?
140 this morning. I will take it after my granddaughters birthday party. Pizza and cupcakes. I decorated a dozen vampire cupcakes. Muahaha! Went to the property yesterday. Planted some daffodils bulbs up there. It snowed here. We went and watched The Gemini Man today. Lots of action and intrigue.
Shelley0 -
Kathy - the yo yo can be so hard. I've been in the same boat for some time now. Keep your eye on the prize and make sure yo uh are doing lots of self care. Slow and steady wins the race!
Getting back in the groove after my trip to Budapest. The jet lag is killer for me each and every time :-) took it easy yesterday made a big pot of ham and potato soup which everybody liked. It was cold and rainy here in Pennsylvania.
Did pretty well with eating while traveling. I always gain a few pounds from the sheer amount of salt they put in their food in hungry. But that's off now. So a pound under where I was when I left :-)
So its only 4 a.m. :-) but I guess I'll get ready for work since I'm out LOL! Hope everybody has a great Monday!
Karen2 -
Shelley, my cold is getting better. They always last longer with me. Love the thought of you making vampire cupcakes...Muahaha! What is The Gemini Man?
Karen, I was still asleep at 4:00 a.m. this morning. Not tomorrow tho...Sounds like your soup was really good.
136.6 at 5:30 this morning. No walking but worked out w/our trainer for an hour.
Chris0 -
Chris it was an action packed Will Smith movie! Lots of twists. Glad you are feeling better.
Karen I love comfort food when it is cold and drizzly. You sound like you had fun.

Here are some of the cupcakes. And our fire pit on the mountain property. Oh and we had some four legged neighbors saying hi. I love 🦌 This is where I spent my birthday. Roasting hotdogs and marshmallows with family and friends. I will be able to post photos of us building the cabin next summer!
Shelley1 -
188.2 this morning. Slow and steady.
Chris - glad you’re feeling better.
Karen - welcome home...sounds like you did well while in Budapest.
Shelley - your mountain property sounds awesome. Can’t wait to see your cabin.
I’ve gotten over the depression by working on the house. One closet cleaned...two to go. My mom is coming to help. She can’t stand for someone to work and she not be a part of it. Once I’m organized the work on the house begins. I set aside money before retirement for a few upgrades. I hope to be finished before the end of the year.
Good week ladies,
Kathy1 -
Kathy what upgrades do you have planned? So excited. I love upgrades. Sometimes it is just new paint. But a change is good. And very happy you are feeling better. Did you notice the deer in the one photo? This is the most expensive holiday trip I have ever done. But over time it will be worth it. Nice loss also.
149.8 this morning. Up a little bit but stillstill good with it. Went shooting on the range today. Range instructor said my shooting was phenomenal. I missed the next shot. Hahaha had to pull my head out of the clouds. I am going to post a kind act today. A sanitation truck driver saw an 80 something year old woman fall bringing in her empty trash can. Since then he walks her and pulls her can back up to her house. I love the kindness we all are capable of. They even hugged and he told her he liked her hair.
Shelley0 -
Shelley - the cupcakes are adorable! I love Halloween and fall :-)
Working on getting to the jet lag. It is so challenging. Today I got up at 4 and set at 3:30 so I call that progress :-)
Has anybody read the Obesity Code by dr. Jason Fung ? I'm reading it and I'll tell you it is fascinating about conventional theories of weight loss and how they may not work. Really interesting.
Caffeinating myself a little bit here and then off to the gym. Thank goodness a work-from-home day :-)
