F2F-WLC CHALLENGES:

- - MODERATOR'S CHALLENGE (Challenges hosted by the moderators of the group)
- - INDIVIDUAL CHALLENGES (Challenges within teams themselves)

Team Weekly challenges will be announced in later communications

(Note:The team order for challenges follows the team order in the group standing sheet on the spreadsheets)

HOW OUR CHALLENGES WORK:
We have 4 total possible challenges and NONE are mandatory. Our challengers can do none or all it's up to them. So we have...

The F2F Weekly TEAM Challenge - posted each week on Sunday in the announcements by the team who is assigned that particular week (see above for your week). This is for the F2F Group as a whole.

F2F Moderators Challenge/Topic of the week - This challenge is provided each week in the announcements area. One of the moderators will either provide a challenge that will involve anything fitness, health, and nutrition.

Individual Team challenges - these are challenge done within your own team. You can chose daily, weekly, or monthly challenges (weekly seems to work best). You can make this whatever you wish as long as it's health and fitness related.

Note: If for some reason your team is unable to provide the weekly challenge please let me know ahead of time so another team can take your place or so I can provide the challenge.

Good Luck Teams: Please let us know if there is anything wrong or if you notice something that needs to be fixed or modified. Everything seems ready to go for NOVEMBER. Registrations are almost done and we have quite a few new challengers. Make sure you are going into your new team threads to welcome anyone who has started posting. Let’s make our newbies feel welcome and show them some F2F love!!

THANKS, YOUR MODS

    Introduction
Hi, I'm Austin! I am one of the Motivators for Slimpossibles. I joined Fat2Fit about a year ago, part way through my journey, and find this group to be super helpful and supportive. I have lost over 140 pounds since I started work on losing weight (January 2018), and have reached (!) my initial goal. I am now working on to build muscle and fitness. I study martial arts and love walks, especially outdoor walks, so you'll hopefully see those activities on my check-ins. I love to read up on things, and have studied nutritional science* and habit building** as I have worked on losing weight and getting healthier. Every body and every person is different, and I have enjoyed learning more and engaging in the kind of science experiment of figuring out what works for me. Making it happen has been and is still all about developing new habits for me, so every so often I burble about habit building! I am also a passionate cook, so happy to chat recipes (especially recipes that involve lots of vegetables!).

    * If interested, check out the nonprofit, research-based site nutritionfacts.org as a great place to start.
** If interested, check out the work of James Clear. He has a book called Atomic Habits. This video on How to Get 1% Better Every Day has been particularly useful to me. He kicks it off this way:
"So if you were able to improve by 1% each day for an entire year... you would end up 37 times better at the end of the year. And if you were to get 1% worse, you would whittle yourself down almost to zero."

    Hello my name is Sharon
I'm 52 next month. Im married for 29 years. I have 3 grown children and 5 granddaughters. I'm not very healthy, I have Fibromyalgia, Arthritis, Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, Acid Reflux, 9 Herniated Discs. IBS-C. And a few others, and right now I'm fighting some kind of lung problem Docs thinking COPD but I'm hoping it's just an infection or something. Well have to wait for the test to see.

I did just find out 2 months ago that my only son (middle child) who is 31 is dying of cancer and theres nothing I can do. So frustrating to be helpless. I've cried a river. So I thought I would start concentrating on my health because its gonna be hard to do when the time comes.
Although I get through each day by telling myself somehow he'll be ok. It's the only way I can function. Denial I know...

    So
My goal is to lose 71 pounds, I've already lost 20 lbs, so I have 41 pounds left to go. I lost those pounds on Keto that I started 2 months ago. I plan on staying on it.
Because of my body and that some days (most) I cant walk to well due to the pain. I need to lose this weight by mostly dieting. Although the days the pain isnt as bad I do try to clean the house or go for a walk on the treadmill.
Taking weight of will help my pain in my joints. It's also great for the mind.

It's very nice to meet you all.

@nbbaby, welcome to the team! <3 Wow!! You have so much going on in your life with your own health issues and the heartbreaking news of your son. I lost my 26-year-old daughter (only child) almost two years ago, so I know the pain of feeling helpless all too well. :/ But we have no choice but to face life head-on and that starts by taking care of ourselves to the best of our ability. So, I applaud you for coming here and joining Fat 2 Fit and I promise that we will do all we can to support you in your journey to better health. Ohhh and I'm a Keto girl too. ;)

@nbbaby Welcome to the team! Wow, you have a lot going on. I've had surgeries for herniations and congenital stenosis. Workouts, especially strength training, have helped the muscular pain but not nerve damage. I've had to make modifications for most of my exercise. I'm so sorry to hear about your son, I can't imagine what you're going through. We're here for you if you need a friend. It sounds like you're starting out strong with your health goals!

@mrmcgrath your 5 for 90 goal to encourage someone always makes me smile, what a great thing to strive to do!

    Friday check-in
    Exercise bike, elliptical, weights
    Calories under

    5 for 90
    1. Gym 3xs a week-done
    2. 30 minutes exercise a day- done
    3. Decluttering- just a little today but doing well.
    4. Social media- checked in, wasn't on much today
    5. Trigger foods- mostly good. My blood sugar crashed after working out and all I had to bring it up fast was a small jar of maple syrup so I had a teaspoon. Even though I use stevia in iced tea it was crazy sweet to me!

Those of you who are MFP friends already know i bought brussel sprouts on the stalk and was excited about it. I cooked for my brother, SIL, and nephews tonight and roasted and presented it whole. My brother ended up carving brussel sprouts out like you would slices of turkey. It makes a really cool presentation on the table, Trader Joe's has them right now.

Welcome to November! Please check your starting weight to make sure it is accurate (for returning team members, it should match your week five weigh-in from October - the one from this week that is ending today). Please let us know of any issues.

@raleighgirl09 _ oh, my, I am SO sorry to hear about your illness, and so glad you are giving yourself some time to recover with some planned days off. 👐👐

@renaegry - Congratulations on the great weigh-in! And a big wow to your step counts! 😀

@Jactop - Wow! You had an amazing week for steps! So inspiring! 🔥🚶🏿

@KatMary71 - Thank you for sharing about your Brussels sprouts adventures! 🎈 And excellent work on your 5 for 90 goals! 😊

@nbbaby - All the challenges are optional, so please don't worry about whether you can do them or not. There's no expectation you'll do them. If one works and call to you, great. If not, no worries at all! 👍🏽

@its_cleo - Hurray for you and starting off November with 30 minutes in the gym! Great work! 🏆

    Weigh in
    Apple852hk
    Week 1 - Nov 2019
    Sunday
    PW 166.6
    CW 164 (74.4kg)

Finally some weight loss. It really helps with motivation. I snacked less as I ate a sandwich at lunch that made me feel a little full. I hope I upkeep this momentum. Making sure I eat for as long as 15 mins instead of just eating quickly.

@mrmcgrath - I want to try cooking them this way, too! This could be a Thanksgiving dish, but of course I'd have to test it in advance, so I would need TWO stalks. 💕😉

@raleighgirl09 - 🌟🎈Congratulations on being on the Fat2Fit leader board for Week 5!
🥁 Congratulations on being on the Fat2Fit leader board for all of October! 🤩

    @Apple852hk - 🎈 WOW! Great weigh-in! 🌟 I am so delighted for you!
It sounds like you are keeping track of how long you are eating, to make sure you don't rush through. So maybe the meal is a WIN if you hit that mark!

@its_cleo - 💪🏽 What a great day! Congratulations on hitting the gym again for your 30 Day Gym Challenge!

@KatMary71 - 👍 You had such a great day Saturday! I completely sympathize with time spent looking at recipes. That is such fun, but it can turn into a time sink sometimes.
