I'm ecstatic today, I lost 3 pounds over the Thanksgiving week!!! My husband and I were really good and thought a lot about what we would make and eat for the holiday. We also knew that we would be traveling to visit family and that doesn't always go well with the eating plan.
The goal for this month is to lose 5 pounds. It's a lofty goal but we were looking at our calendar last night for the holiday parties and events that we know will have food and thought about a plan. The older I get the more that I realize that you have to plan the work and work the plan. The plan for this week is to stay in the calorie and points(WW member), drink the water and get in the exercise. The weight goal is to get into the 195 number next week.
Obstacles this week will be a pizza party with snacks on Thursday. They usually buy a veggie pizza and that is what I will have and stay away from the snack table.8 -
Hi, I'm Debbie. I'm 56, married 35 years and have two daughters. Our oldest is 30 and has special needs and lives with us. Our youngest is married and lives in the next state over. We live in Central Illinois and I stay home and am the caregiver for our daughter.
I do well with my exercise(step challenges with my daughter and son in law most weeks, I usually lose but stay close to them). I also go to the gym with my husband every morning during the work week. I walk on M,W,F and do weight machines on T,Th. Sleeping is hard for me and I rarely get enough. I do great with writing down my food and do it faithfully every day with everything I eat, I just eat too much and too many snacks. I joined Weight Watchers Oct. 8 and have been very successful with it so far.
Here are my goals for the month:
Stay within my calorie and point goal (Weight Watcher member)
Plan out my meals and food
Drink my water
Exercise every day
Lose 5 pounds
Plan the work and work the plan.

Sunday check in
Food - logged & on target
Exercise - 8k steps
Water - 1.5 l
Good day yesterday and was busy with shopping, cooking & prep. My boys had a piano recital yesterday, which was a nice break from all of the hockey! We had rain and ice yesterday and then in the early morning hours, a big dump of snow. It took my almost an hour to clear it this morning as here in Toronto, we have to shovel the public walks in front of our homes. I am on a corner, and omg, it was a lot. We have a holiday party coming up on Friday night. Have no idea what the food will be, but I will make a plan, particularly regarding the wine.
Congrats on the great losses @jedaschultz, @twyla77 & @amytriesww!!
@sleepymom5 - Lovely photos from the wedding that you posted on the November thread! You hair looked beautiful and how proud must you be of your 5 children!
Thanks everyone for your intros and December goals!3 -

@sleepymom5 I couldn't post in November, but your kids looked great at the wedding! Loved your hair! Sounds like your Thanksgiving was a lot of fun! Laughter is a great thing, and having a sense if humor is so important!2

@sleepymom5 did I miss your wedding photos? I scanned back and couldn't find them. Do you mind reposting?

yesterday was a very long active day. I taught Skylynn how to make cinnamon yeast rolls from scratch. She is turning 10 this month so it's time to teach her how to make bread products and piecrusts. She does well with everything else. It took 4 hours from start to finish. During that time we took down fall décor and brought out all the Christmas decorations. Robin and her boyfriend came for Thanksgiving and didn't leave until last night. LOL. It was nice to see them relax and rest. They are both so busy and rarely get spoiled down time. Jason took us to get our Christmas tree and Skylynn decorated most of it. Molly and I went to the book fair and stocked up for Skylynns birthday and all the kids Christmas presents. Lot's of great options. Especially love the books from National geographic and Smithsonian for kids. After we got back I just wanted to curl up in bed but continued on to do yoga, December budget, dishes and general tidying up. Then some me time with puzzle and read a good book.
I started my 1 week cleanse today. Today will be a lemondade cleanse. Water, cayenne pepper, fresh lemon juice and raw honey. I also have some detox teas.
@cyndiesstuff good luck with OA. I have tried it. All the 12 step programs are so hard but so rewarding when we work them.
I am late on my sharing Sunday. I was very lucky. I posted that I needed some support. Someone sent me the link to this group. It has been life changing for me. I love the accountability and the tremendous support.2 -
intro:
I am Angelina. 63 years old and in the best shape of my life. I started in July 2018 weighing 202.8 and exactly 1 year later hit my goal 142.8. 60 pounds gone for good! October is 1 year that I have been Vegan, given up caffeine and all meds (used to be a daily pill popper for headaches), and started focusing on health not just weight loss. I have been working to find balance and wondering how to stabilize at my goal. I have been pretty good about being within 3-5 pounds of goal since July. I love my new life and new appearance. I do yoga daily, run, hike, bike and walk. I have been married to Molly for 3 years but together for 7. My parents live with us due to health issues. Our soon to be 10, granddaughter is the joy of my life. We have helped raise her. We have a very blessed life.
2019-lost 60 pounds, committed to daily yoga, took up running...ran 2 5k's, a 10k and the turkey trot. Molly and I also did the 34 mile Virginia creeper this year for my birthday. It is a bike ride I have wanted to do for over 30 years. I went vegan, focused on health, got out of debt, cleaned and organized my whole house, received a promotion running two branches, and overall feel like a huge success. I went from a size 3X to a size 6.
2020-I have a buzz word every year. 2019 was transformation. My new word for 2020 is EMPOWER. I feel like my boss does a great job of making me feel empowered. I want to pass this on to my teams and use this energy in my personal life. My goal is to relax more. I also want to get serious about writing a blog, a cookbook, a fiction novel or short story to start, be more organized with my planner and keep the house organized. We also want to have 3 months of emergency cash savings. I feel that 2019 has transformed me to be an empowered person that can succeed at anything I set my mind to.
Does anyone else have a buzz word for their yearly energy?3 -
I am reposting the few pics I have gotten from the wedding. I am getting a little nervous that I don't look good in the pictures and that is why I haven't gotten any. I also am regretting I wore my hair up and no necklace. I listened to other people and should have went with my gut. Oh well...nothing I can do now. I guess I will have to wait for the professional pics to come in to show you all.
Shannon(23), Dan(26), Mary Kate (19), William (25) and Nicole (28) This was on the party bus so that is why there are weird lights. I hope the photographer got one of them all together
The girls (MK, Nicole and Sha)
Danny and I danced to Simple Man by Lynyrd Skynyrd
My hair
Another thing..Nicole and Dan both wore contacts until they had to pay for them. I don't know why that bugs me Lol!
@jedaschultz Awesome loss AND during Thanksgiving! You and your husband had a plan and followed it and it showed on the scale. I agree with you, I think planning is so important and I didn't really discover it until the past year Lol! I love your goals for December. I see you have a pizza party coming up. I now make sure I have salad when I have pizza. That seems to fill me up but I can still enjoy a slice or two of pizza. Maybe you can bring salad with you?
@Cafelelia I bet a piano recital is a nice WARM break from the hockey rink Lol! We have to shovel our public walk where I live but at least I am not on a corner. I am sure that was a workout! Thanks about the pics. I wish I had some more to share.
@kirsten11872 Thank you! I still can't believe it is all behind me now . Looks like you are getting a lot of snow today!
@Mrsbell8well It is so inspiring to read how far you have come! You are amazing! I had a drink I would do for a cold and I lost the recipe. It was similar to your cleanse but it was tea and it had apple cider vinegar. It really broke up a chest cold but my favorite part was the cayenne pepper and the honey tasted together.

@sleepymom5 I think you look good & I love the how your hair looks! You have a beautiful family!4

Hello team, welcome back everyone. I am Tracy, 47, live in hudson nh. I have been married for 24 years and have 2 grown boys, 25 and 22. I have the cutest little granddaughter who is 6 weeks old and another granddaughter due in Feb. I have gained and lost the same 5 pounds for years. Very upsetting. I love to do zumba which i do 2x's per week. I also love to walk, I love the Leslie Sansone videos.
I joined this group for accountability, I was also in the Biggest Loser challenge but therre was never any conversation at all on my team, i was pretty much talking to myself. I do check in daily to read everyones post but i do not always check in, I do have to get better about that.
Yesterday we had the baby shower for my son and his girlfriend. They got tons of things. It was a fun day. Towards the end I started to not feel well. My neck was killing me which caused a migrain and my teeth even hurt. By the time I got home my arthritis was so bad in the rest of my body that I had to just sit with my eyes closed the rest of the night.
We are getting hit with a ton of snow. My worked opened on a delay opening and closed early. Tomorrow looks the same. My granddauhter was suppose to start childcare today but with the storm we told them to stay home. It was a nice day at work only 10 kids showed up. We sent most of the staff home and I stayed to help out.
I have to start getting into a better routine. I am going to make an exercise plan. i have been meal prepping at night for the next day. i need to get in more water and log my food. Hopefully i have a better december and the scale goes down.

@hope002 you can definitely see a difference! Your hard work is paying off!
@ljdanny sounds like a fun day! Hope you are felling better! We got some snow here in NJ as well.
@amytriesww awesome loss! Way to go!0 -
@sleepymom5 that photo of you dancing with your son is gorgeous. It would not matter if you were in old ripped jeans, your hair full of hay and mud - it would still be gorgeous. There is not a mom in the world who looks bad at her child's wedding when there is love and hope in the room with you. Beautiful!6

Hello all & welcome to December! I can't believe 2019 is almost over. I am going to try to end the year as best I can!
My name is Kirsten, I am 47 years old from NJ-right near NYC, married for 20 years, have 2 sons, 19 & 15. I work full-time in the financial industry for 23 years. I have had to watch my weight my entire life. I have been a WW member on & off since I was 14 years old. I hit Lifetime status in 2013, but I am currently above my goal weight. I attend weekly WW meetings, trying to get back to my goal weight. I joined MFP in May 2012 and have been part of this challenge since it started in July 2016. I have been on a few teams, but Weight No More has been my favorite, we are such a supportive group!
I am really trying to change my all or nothing mindset & to take this journey day by day! My goal is to track all my food & exercise 5-6 times a week, which was always my norm. I started IF this year and have found success when I follow it.
Let's end this year with lots of success!!!2 -
Went to yoga tonight. Felt good to be back. Accidentally went to a yoga and wine class. I don’t drink wine and the my inner introvert is very opposed to chatting with strangers in yoga class. But I made the best of it. Ate right on target today being my first day back to logging after the holiday. Have a great night team.5

Monday 12/2 check in
Food: logged and on track
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 minute session with my trainer
I wasn't planning on going out to eat tonight but got an email from one of the ladies at my Bible study group that was inviting those who could make it out for coffee. (Normally we meet on Monday nights but not many could make it in December so we're taking the month off from meeting). I was at the gym when I got the email and had a chiropractor appointment at 5:45 so I decided to just have supper at the restaurant. I was still able to stay within my calorie range so that was good.
Today was my first day back sleeping during the day after my extra time off for the holiday. I thought I slept pretty well but I'm actually pretty tired tonight, wishing I could be home and in bed but have to wait until tomorrow morning for that.🙁4 -
Motivation Monday

I went to the chiropractor for the first time ever. The adjustment was weirdly scary but also very worth it.
Got in day 2 of yoga and drank a lot more water today.
I ate too much bread, but I'm not disappointed in myself today.4 -
I am hoping that everyone is making out ok with these storms. I know @cyndiesstuff has had problems with power in the past and @nstephenson01 lives in an area that seems to get hit pretty hard too. Hoping everyone is safe and warm...and possibly burning calories shoveling snow. We never got more than flurries but it did get significantly colder here in Philly.
I had a pretty good day but have been so hungry lately. I did manage to stay on track and not overeat but it was hard. That fasting app @kirsten11872 suggested has been helping me at night. Idk why hitting the button that my fast has started keeps me from eating but whatever works right?! Lol! I am shooting for 14 hours. I can't imagine doing any more but who knows. I never thought I could do 14 hours.
@hope002 Wow! What a difference! It looks like much more of a loss than 8 pounds! Wtg!!
@lennoncpa Well hello there! Hope you had a good day! I have ads on here for oatmeal Lol! Idk why, I haven't searched for it online. Maybe they knew I would be talking to you
@ljdanny I forgot the baby shower was yesterday! I am glad that it went well until you got sick. Thank goodness you are feeling better today. I was wondering how much snow you got up there. Stay safe!
@kirsten11872 Thank you! I like your goals for December! I am with you, let's end the year strong! I was thinking about you with the snow too. I know NJ got a lot too, I grew up in Montville so I still pay attention what is going on up there . Your tree looks beautiful!
@jugar Thank you xoxo
@phoebe112476 Yoga and wine! Lol! They have everything now a days. @nstephenson01 did a yoga and goats or something like that! I am glad you stepped outside your comfort zone and made the best of it!
@tryingagain5 I didn't realize how late it was until I read your post! Looks like you had a busy day so I am not surprised that you are tired. I am guessing that getting back into the swing of night shift is tiring too. I love the motivational Monday post!
@GingerPwr I am glad that the trip to the chiropractor was worth it. I am thinking of seeing one myself. Sounds like you had a good day! Keep it going!3 -

Daily Check In - Monday Dec 2
Tracked Food? Yep
Under Calories? Yep
Enough Water? Definitely not! Lots of herbal tea though.
Steps: I’ve stopped wearing my Fitbit,
i don’t know why but it suddenly started stressing me out - it seemed like it was just an extra thing that I was dropping the ball for the last few weeks while I’ve been chained to my desk. And I left it at home when I went to Mexico. And now I’m kind of feeling happy without it! Bad move do you think?
@sleepymom5 gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing!
@hope002 Great results! Congrats! 👏🏼

Check in for Monday
Food IF on track

Exercise 30 min strength and 45 minutes yoga
Steps 5,817
On Saturday I went skiing 😊😊⛷️⛷️

Monday 12/2 check in
Food: logged and under
Water: at least 88 oz (I get to a certain point and stop counting)
Exercise: 30 min bike, PT, strength and stretching. A little over 6,500 steps.
A good day yesterday and no reason today won't be good either. I have been having trouble with hunger the past few days. Not urges but I am truly hungry. Other than that things are going well. Today I have PT. This PT took a different approach, he is doing something called the Graston technique (I think) He uses this metal object and massages the area. It hurts but I really think the hip is improving. I also do strength and stretching but the concentration is on this technique . The other place I just did strength and stretching. Now if my knee would cooperate I would be great. I am still limiting stairs and wearing a brace which I think is helping too. I am also not waking up in pain at night so all good things. Today I am going to try to dial back the ibuprofen. Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
@twyla77 Good news-herbal tea counts as water! I think if you don't add too much to it and if there is no caffeine in it you can count it. The fitbit is supposed to be a tool to help you see where you are at and motivate you to go further. Sounds like it wasn't doing that for you so I think it was a good move to take it off. You have to do what works for you. The less stress the better .
@hope002 I remember that you went skiing last year a lot. I am sure Saturday was one of many ski trips this season! Sounds like you are doing great too-awesome day yesterday!2 -
My biggest tip is to never give up. In the past, one slip up would go into the entire day, maybe week, sometimes months. If you go off, just get right back on track, you didn't mess up the whole day, you don't have to wait for the next meal, just start where you are at.

Monday check in
Food - logged & on target
Exercise - 12 k steps!
Water - 1.5l
Great day yesterday. My only issue was having a pizza slice at the arena as the boys ate my healthy meal in the car. It was within calories, but just didn’t feel great. I rarely have both boys for hockey, but lesson learned that I have to pack more food for the teen! I am just not feeling the Christmas spirit this year, and not sure why exactly. I am usually very early with my preparations, but having a hard time this year getting going. I have a lot of shopping done, but just don’t feel like decorating yet. We are travelling to my husband’s family this year as my FIL is in a wheelchair with Parkinson’s. Maybe it is because I know we will not be home that I am not getting into decorating. Also, my kids are growing and the youngest is barely hanging on to his belief in Santa. Whatever the reason, that is how I feel, so maybe I will do things a bit differently this year.
@Sleepymom5 - Lol re the yoga pose & just love your tip for today! Hope that everything goes well with the PT today and that technique sounds interesting. I had not heard of it. Lovely wedding photos! You look beautiful and what an amazing photo of you dancing with your son! I understand that we are our own worst critics, but as a Corinne Crabtree devotee, what would she say to you regarding the negative comments about yourself? I think there would be some cussing!
@hope002 - Those skiing photos are awesome! And, your before and after photos, omg! How amazing is that! You look amazing!
@twyla77 - Agree with @sleepymom5 that herbal tea counts! If not wearing the Fitbit feels good, then don’t wear it. Sometimes we all have to change things up. I wore a Garmin religiously, and then once I was injured, I eventually stopped as it was making me feel worse about not being able to run. I wore nothing for a long while and then just got an Apple Watch in October. I like it because it tracks things like movement and standing time, not just steps.
@GingerPwr - Glad that the chiropractor helped! I love your December goals! I get it about wanting to eat more bread. I feel that way when the weather turns cold!
@tryingain5 - Great job going to the restaurant & still staying within calories! Thank you for posting those tips on how to stay motivated! We need them this month especially!
@phoebe112476 - Yoga & wine?! I would do very little yoga in that class! Great thing that you stuck with it and got in your yoga! Thank you for your amazing November review and you are inspiring, as always! Just incredible that you are so close to goal! Also, happy belated birthday!!
@kirsten11872 - Beautiful Christmas tree!! Thanks for posting and you are helping me emerge from my Christmas decorating funk!
@ljdanny - I am sorry that your arthritis flared up and hope that you are feeling better. Also hope that you dug out of the snow ok yesterday.
@Mrsbell8well - Your story is so inspiring! I love your 2020 buzz word! I need to give mine some thought and I have a few in mind.
@jedaschultz - Love your December goals, especially “plan the work & work the plan”!2
