WEIGHT NO MORE DECEMBER CHAT

OOps! Why did I think today is Friday? Certainly don't want to rush the week but I feel extra sleepy this morning! Maybe I should weigh in again tomorrow? If I drop some more I might just do that.2
-
@Cafelelia sorry for your loss
@sleepymom5 it's tough having a child with anxiety. I keep telling my son he needs to get a counselor to talk too but he rather just go see them to pick up his meds. He was also on meds that were not good for him last year. That's what caused his car accident. Hopefully she will get someone to talk too and get her meds straightened out.
I had a crappy weigh in. I need to get the scale to go down. Hopefully not working every day the next few weeks I will have better weigh ins.5 -

@sleepymom5 I didn't think I would survive my daughter and her shenanigans and I certainly don't know how mom survived mine. But I turned out great lol! And now my daughter is doing so well and is so stable. It is just remarkable the fine woman that she has become. I am so very proud of her. I remember one time that I had lost all hope...a good friend of mine said to me "if you are not there for your children, who will be". At that time in my life I needed to hear that. It softened my heart and since that day I have more compassion for what our children go through. I try to give them the freedom to be human and figure out things as they go, but yes sometimes it is hard to know when to step in and when to let them figure out what they need to do. I try to support her which ever direction she turns even though I don't always agree. But it is her life and it is wonderful to feel like we have the freedom to make our own choices. Even if they sometimes bring us problems. You are such an amazing parent and so supportive! You can never go wrong with the kind of unconditional love you shower your children with. And yes sometimes we lose patience and snap but we're human too. I can't tell you how many times Robin or Molly will say something and I want to say "whoa...hold on there..." but I try to breathe and say "sure, why not". It's not always easy to flow with things but my mom is my best example. She rarely lets things get her down. She's a flow-er for sure. lol
@Cafelelia I am so sorry about your loss. How sad. I am glad your husband was there. Molly's mom passed in the Spring and she is still grieving. There's times she gets unbelievably sad and I know she is missing her mom.
@phoebe112476 Oh gosh I remember when Skylynn was in pre-school. The germs and illness were crazy making. Hope you get better soon.
@gingerpwr wtg!!!! I am sure you were a happy girl. I will go ahead and do the Cyndie dance for you!

I am on day 4 of cleanse. Today's menu: seeded tea (cumin seed, coriander seed and fennel seed), fresh papaya with lime juice, organic raspberries, the rest of that tasty green drink from yesterday, a mango, organic pear and maybe an apple if I want more. I also have some leftover carrot juice I am going to drink after my run. I weighed 140.8 this morning. I am wondering if I will see the 130's before this is over? I am hoping to stabilize between 142-144. I have lost my butt cheeks. I am flat as a board back there lol. Tomorrow I will start adding raw organic vegetables and maybe some steamed asparagus for dinner. I am almost done shopping but I was naughty and bought a tortilla press from Amazon last night. I am really loving my new health book. I am aware that I am having trouble processing gluten but dang it is so tasty. The book has over 200 gluten free, soy free, peanut, dairy, animal free recipes. the seeded tea was the second recipe from the book. Looking forward to trying more. One of the breakfasts is whole grain gluten free tortillas with veggie and millet filling. I was drooling over it. Gave up trying to find suitable tortillas on line so obviously I need a tortilla press right? I have made some extremely good GF tortillas in the past and looking forward to this new toy. But that's it...no more shopping for me!3

@Cafelelia I am so sorry to hear about your father in law. I am glad your husband got to spend time with him and you all were able speak to him before he passed. I agree, this time of year makes it even sadder. Safe travels. I will be thinking of you.
@phoebe112476 Little ones do bring home a lot of germs. I hope you are all feeling better soon. Maybe you will get it all over with before the holidays
@pacsnc6 Lol! I have those days too! If you want to weigh in tomorrow I can switch it for you. No problem!
@ljdanny This is the first weigh in after Thanksgiving so it is a hard one. Hope your lighter work schedule will help free up some time for you. I wish the doctor's would be a little more proactive too. You would think the one prescribing your son's meds would encourage your son to get counseling. But who knows, maybe he does and us parents just aren't told what happens anymore. It is frustrating.
@Mrsbell8well Thank you for writing all of that. It is nice to know that people have been where I am now and survived and their children have turned out well. Great advice! Thank you. Absolutely you will use the press. Between you and all the Mexican dishes your parent's like to make it will be used. I am sure you will be in the 130s before this cleanse is over. Now you have a lot of wiggle room for your maintenance.5 -
@Cafelelia I'm very sorry Lisa. Thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.
@mrsbell8well & @tryingagain5 I really like what you wrote to @sleepymom5 regarding MK. Very nice and lovely advice.
Hugs... from a safe distance @phoebe112476 Its no fun to be sick. Get well soon.
Nice losses @GingerPwr and @pacsnc6. Way to begin the month!!
@cyndiesstuff I am glad you are seeking out resources for help. I do hope you still check in with us... you're an integral part of this team!!3 -

I'm not sure I trust today's weight. It may not stick but maybe it gives me inspiration to behave better LOL. I think I'm dehydrated. I had a terrible episode of restless leg syndrome last night. Haven't had that happen in a couple of years, thank goodness.
Well, yesterday didn't go according to plan. As I was typing my post yesterday morning my phone beeped. Turned out to be a text from my friend's daughter. There went the water works. I got my act together and began my plan for the day but was running behind. Then when I got home from grocery shopping my neighbor called. Her husband who has dementia took off and she couldn't find him. We found him about 20 minutes later. At least it was only around 40 degrees instead of -10. We don't live in a traditional neighborhood... there's a lot of forest he could get lost in. I'm not sure what she's going to do. The care center in town is agreeable to taking him in his condition but they're not accepting new patients because they're short staffed. Back when she brought him home from his recent stint in the hospital she was planning to set up some in-home care but I'm not sure if she followed through. So Christmas decorations did not get done but the tree made it inside in its stand with water so there's that.
So far today is flying by. Hubby's Cowboys play tonight and he wants pizza for dinner. Pizza is not the enemy... its my lack of controlling my portions when I'm around pizza. I'll have a salad first. I will at least get the tree decorated tonight during the football game. I desperately need to clean house which I think is part of the reason I'm procrastinating on the decoration part.
Daily check in: Wednesday
Food: Skipped breakfast and ate lunch late so another inadvertent IF
Water: stopped tracking after around 40 oz but wasn't enough
Exercise: Bowflex Intervals; 30 minute dog walk; 13,978 steps4 -
Hello and happy Thursday team. I started out the day by filling up 9 bags of leaves from my front yard. I have a tree that starting last year decided to drop its leaves the week after the Village stops vacuuming them or picking up the bags! So I get to keep them in my barn until next spring. A couple neighbors that walked by said I should just wait and mow them up in the spring, but they looked so ugly and messy. I just went out again to admire my work so I’m really glad I motivated myself to do it. I should have taken a before and after photo because you guys would not have believed it. I don’t have a large yard. It was just a massive amount of leaves. Sorry to get into such an in depth discussion about my leaves. Isn’t that the weirdest thing to make my day😀4

@Mrsbell8well You look so slender doing that yoga pose! Do you have a specific program you follow or did you make your own? I would love to start doing yoga. I have a couple DVDs, but it's so hard to learn the poses while watching the TV! Also, how long is your cleanse? It sounds like it's going really well!
@Cafelelia I'm so glad you all got to speak with your father in law before he passed. It may not be right now, but one day I hope it will be a comfort. Thinking about your family today!
@phoebe112476 I'm so sorry you've been feeling so under the weather lately. It's pretty amazing that you're even still hanging in there with weight loss. Hoping you're feeling better soon!
@sleepymom5 Im sorry for the struggles you and your daughter are going through. It's hard to see your child suffer with anxiety and have there be nothing you can do about it. I also have anxiety and I'm the same way with phone calls. I've gotten a lot better about it, but I actually used to have my husband make my appointments for me. There was no logical reason for me to have anxiety about it- it just was. I know that doesn't help, but the older I got, the more my anxiety about it lessened. Also, there definitely should be a medical release she can sign so you can make appointments and things- but she will have to request it. I hope things get better for her soon.
@nstephenson01 No matter the reason, congratulations on such a good loss this week! I'm in the same boat. I still haven't decorated for Christmas- and my house needs to be cleaned! It's hard to decorate when it's messy!3 -
@lennoncpa 9 bags! What a workout! I don't think it's weird at all to be so happy about getting your leaves up. That's a tough job and I would feel so accomplished!2

Daily check in: Thursday
Food: Good until dinner then blew it
Water: 64 oz
Exercise: 30 bike, PT, strength and stretching
Blew it and it was totally my fault. I was going to have a salad but instead suggested to go to the bar for soup and this grilled cheese that has beef on it. We got there and the grilled cheese and soup wasn't on the menu but they made it special for me. I also had two cosmos. I never really drink those but two women had them and I complimented how pretty they looked and before I knew it I had one in front of me. Then someone else bought me another. I am not used to getting special attention like that. For the new members, my husband is part owner of a bar, it opened in May) I need to get over it or just not go unless it is a special occasion. I overate there and then came home and had a vitamuffin with peanut butter too. It was totally a f it moment. Now I am disgusted but I am making my plan for tomorrow and moving on. Tomorrow night I have our bunco Christmas party. I am not looking forward to it. We are going to the restaurant school in Philadelphia. It just sounds like a hassle. I am not sure what they will serve. I tried to look it up on line and I can't find a menu. I feel like a grump. Going out in Philadelphia with friends should be fun. Oh well...I hopefully will feel better about it in the morning. We have our gift exchange too. I am bringing a tee shirt and a $25 gift card to the bar. They all like going there so I hope that isn't too weird. I haven't gotten a chance to shop. Tomorrow morning Jim and I are taking MK back to school, visiting his Mom, working out and then hopefully decorate more. I don't have to go to the dinner until 6:45 (don't get me started on eating that late Lol!) . Oh well...I will let you ladies go since I am just complaining. Maybe I will get to bed early tonight and not be so grumpy in the morning xoxo
@nstephenson01 Nice loss! I am sure it was bitter sweet talking to your friend's daughter. I am glad you found your neighbor's husband relatively quickly. I was thinking that you lived in a pretty remote area and between that and the weather it could have been a nightmare. I hope she will make arrangements for him after this scare. She is lucky to have neighbors like you. Looks like you had a good day yesterday even with all that went on. Enjoy the pizza and the game. I have been procrastinating with the decorations too Lol!
@lennoncpa What a workout! Wow! 9 bags of leaves! I would be talking about it too! I would feel the same way, I would rather clean it up than look at it all winter! Great job!
@amytriesww It's tough. She will be better after exams but it makes me wonder if school is for her. But when I suggest that she gets upset with me so I am just going to let her do what she is comfortable with and try to support her. Thank you for being so supportive.5 -

@amytriesww I do Adriene you tube yoga daily. She has all sorts of videos for free. I follow her monthly calendar. Sessions are from 8-40 minutes. Different daily. At first I thought they weren’t challenging enough but now I value my yoga time and I just do what ever she has planned for that day without thinking too much about it. I have noticed enormous health benefits from my practice. My cleanse is a 7 day. It’s one I created and have followed for many years. When ever I feel I need a break. Day 1 is lemon, cayenne pepper raw honey or maple syrup mixed with distilled water. Usually a gallon on the first day. Day 2 clear organic juices. Day 3 thicker juices like mango plus clear juices. Day 4 juice and organic fruit. Day 5 organic vegetables raw to start and cooked later in the day. I’m really looking forward to my salad today with peppers cucumbers, celery, green onions, radishes and avocado with lemon juice. Going to start the day with juiced vegetables mixed with a green apple. Kale and other greens plus cilantro. Day 6 grains like brown rice. Day 7 protein. Legumes.
It’s actually a nice break. I look forward to each day. It feels spiritual as well. And my senses are sharpened. Especially my sense of smell. Everything smells so wonderful. When I’m on the cleanse I find I need less sleep. I don’t usually do cardio but I decided to keep with my routine but I cut back duration. My rowing was much better on day 2. I’m going to increase to 10 minutes next week. Goal will be to work up to 30 minutes. I’m going to look for an audio book to listen to while rowing.
I’m up early. Baking a raspberry cake for teammates birthday today. I will have to pass but I had some in November so I’m good.

@nstephenson01 so sorry about the loss of your friend. And congrats on the loss.
@hope002 yum your meal looks so delicious!
@tryingagain5 my daughter is a nurse too. Such a hard industry. She always worked overtime. All the nurses did. So hard to have a life balance. She was always so exhausted. She took time off of work in November to finish her bachelors. She is done this month. But the money is always so nice. Hang in there your doing great!!! We are blessed to have nurses!!!
@lennoncpa I can just see you raking those leaves. Good for you. Sounds exhausting and rewarding. The number one gift Molly asked for this year is a leaf blower lol.

Thursday thirst tip-my glass water bottle has time of day marked. I do my best to follow along. 2 bottles a day. I sometimes measure then pour into my tea cup for herb tea.2 -
Friday Focus-how I stay on track when life gets busy? I have 3 non-negotiables in my life that come above everything else. 1-nutritious food 2-exercise 3-sleep.
I have been doing this for 1 1/2 years. It has really paid off. There are only 24 hours in my day. I make sure I allot an adequate number to my personal care and well being. No one else will care for me as well as I will. I am my responsibility. When I take care of these 3 things I am a better mom, wife, daughter, employee etc. and there is something special about knowing I love myself enough to care about my sanity and well being.2 -
Good morning everyone I am in a much better mood this am. I am still not happy with how things went down last evening and I am not sure why. I think what bothers me is I have no problem saying no to my husband when he wants to go somewhere and here I knew that I shouldn't have gone there but I suggested it, then didn't order the healthiest thing, I ate more than I should have AND I had 2 drinks. I was conscious of what I was doing the whole time. Oh well...new day and I am back on track. I feel so bad about this that I am sure I will be ok at the dinner tonight. I have a busy day so I will check in later. I also am checking in backwards. I will put my weight in below. It is up. I am sure the gain is from the sodium from last night but I did end up gaining a couple of pounds from after the wedding/Thanksgiving. I did follow my plan for the most part so it could have been worse. I am not upset about it and this gain from last week is definitely from my meal last night. OK...Let's all have a fabulous Friday!
@tryingagain5 That stinks but your check will be awesome at least. Have a good sleep.
@hope002 OMG!!! You never cease to amaze me girl! And you did that killer workout too...I don't know if I would have had the patience to make that meal look so nice, the avocado would have been luck to get peeled let alone sliced so beautifully. Awesome job!!
@Mrsbell8well when you do those calendars, does the video pop up or do you have to search for it. The one I looked out there wasn't a link to the video. I didn't realize that you created the juice fast that you are doing. You have so much knowledge from always researching and reading that I shouldn't have been surprised. Thank for you tips. I totally agree with your non-negotiables. I may not do 1 all the time but 2 and 3 I do. Thanks for being part of our team and sharing all that you have learned!5 -

Quick check in as I have my yoga class this morning. Made my salad as planned but still ate too much pizza. It tastes good but doesn’t really satiate me. I feel like if I was out I would eat less but at home I just keep eating. Definitely a meal I struggle with. Over and done. Today is a new day. My food for the day is pre-logged and will increase my water to hopefully help flush out all the extra sodium.
Happy Friday everyone!3 -

I think you've mixed me up with someone else. I know I get people on our team mixed up sometimes.😁I'm not a nurse, although that would be a great career. I work in a factory that makes car mirrors, (rearview, inside and outside). Definitely not an exciting job but someone needs to do that as well.
That's great that your daughter is a nurse. I bet it is exhausting but also very rewarding.3 -
Hello & TGIF!
This week was awful! I am up quite a few pounds from last week. I was doing well, then things just went downhill. It also didn't help that I did not workout all week. I went out to eat on Wednesday for my friend's birthday and totally overate and the scale jumped up 3 pounds the next day. Last night we had our work holiday function. I actually did well, I had wine, but really did not eat much, they did not have a lot of food I eat, but when I got home I started eating crap. The scale was the same from the day prior, but as of this morning, I am up 5 pounds from last week. I won't be able to make my weekly WW meeting, I have to work tomorrow. We have a yearly vault count one Saturday in Nov or Dec, and it is tomorrow. The overtime pay will be nice.
My eating has been good so far today. I am really going to push myself to go to the gym tonight, at least try to get one workout in this week. I was thinking that I really need to plan my meals better, I do bring my food to work every day, but I need to prep better. I have to refocus and get a plan in my mind and put it into action. I am 23 pounds heavier than I was a year ago, so sad & frustrating. I just need to motivate myself! I do always get in over 10k steps/day, imagine if i didn't do that! I tend to gain weight very easily, I think because I was so heavy when I was in my late teens & early 20's, that it just comes on quickly. I do lose when I am focused, but I have to stay very focused!
@Cafelelia so sorry about your father in law! My prayers are with you all!
@sleepymom5 your daughter can definitely sign a form that gives you permission to speak on her behalf regarding her medical issues. It is crazy, the day my son turned 18 I got an e-mail saying I no longer can access his medical records or call to get his info unless he signs a form. I pay his benefits and any medical bills, but I can't speak to anyone on his behalf. Of course he signed the form, he has no interest in dealing with appointments & prescriptions, lol. Good luck with everything! I hope she is able to get help and feel better!
@Mrsbell8well you look great in your yoga pose. I have done yoga a few times. I have a dvd and I took a yoga class a few months ago, it was a good workout! Great job with your cleanse & weight-loss! Sounds like you need to do some squats, lol
@Freeglerock welcome to our team! I also follow WW & MFP. I am a WW Lifetime member, but I am over my goal right now. I have been following WW for many, many years. I love my leader, she is awesome! I would be upset if the meetings just stopped. I get a lot of good feedback at the meetings. Good luck with whatever path you choose!
@hope002 congrats on the loss!
@nstephenson01 pizza is so hard! It is so good! I try to eat a salad on the side and one slice.
Have a great day & weekend! I am prepared for a gain tomorrow. If I go to the gym and watch my eating for the rest of the day, it may not be as bad as I think, maybe a 2 or 3 pound gain as opposed to 5.
