Dedicated December

Bit late to the party, but figure I should at least check in here! Had a couple weeks off end of November, back at the gym this past week. Picked up pretty much right where I left off, but that also left me pretty sore LOL!

Hey all,
Despite the last few days being up a little (thanks TOM) I feel a little easier about it than last month, maybe because it’s at a lower level than last month ? The weight goal for this month is also less ambitious than the months before, seeing that I never really reached those so far. This time it feels more realistic and achievable while I still enjoy all the season's flavors. Only running may not happen as consistently as the last 1-2 months with the weather being windy and rainy at the moment. For the rest, I still keep chocolate intake at the lower end of the usual splurge spectrum, take time to pamper myself, and am getting a bit better at taking a breath before reacting to something my man said or did which hit the fury-button again.
So all in all, I think I’m finding a balance again even though it’s a busy period.
I hope you all are doing well, too. By what I read here, it mostly sounds like it4 -

Goal: get back to maintenance between 69 and 70
1. Keep on logging every day
2. Keep up the push-up challenge (I finally started again, mostly thanks to the perseverance showed by @cayenne_007 !
3. 10.000 steps a day + 2 long walks & 2 dives a week
Ok, so I got a nasty weight number this morning - gained 2 kilos in one week. No suprise there as I've been mindlessly stuffing myself with everything in sight. I even went back to a very old habit to purposefully go to a bakery to get my "fix", aka danish pastries. I didn't have danish in some years, and now the two last weeks I had one every other day + a load of other sweets. I also had seconds, and I've noticed that I just loved feeling "full". Needless to say I haven't been doing well and I need to snap out of it.
I find this the most difficult thing about maintaining. Losing weight is ok (no fun but doable), gaining is supereasy, but somehow maintaining is a balancing act that I don't master (yet?).
This weekend, we'll go to London to do our Christmas shopping with some friends. I'll do my utmost best to eat mindfully, and I hope that the next checkin here will be better.
Well, my mindfulness went out the window the minute I stepped on the train to London. 2,5 days of full English breakfast, churros, gluhwein and all kinds of street foods. Luckily, we walked more than 30.000 steps. That why I think my weight is also water weight from my sore muscles !
1. I kept on logging
2. Couldn't do pushups as I also had to move 1 ton of wood for our burning stove. My arms were really sore!
3. 87.100 steps and 1 dive
Current weight: 71.8 - back to veggies and fruits this week !

GW 110 lbs
Goal Waist measurement 26"
Being a petite person, I've struggled emotionally with the extra lbs I've put on in my late twenties. Although I enjoy eating clean and I love fruits and vegetables, I tend to be an stress eater and one tiny moment of weakness turn into weeks of bad eating.
My reason for doing this is because I feel my best when I am around 108-110 lbs.
Goals for this month:
#1 Continue to workout 3-4 times a week.
#2 Avoid desserts (this is where I go overboard and also happens to be my gateway drug).
#3 Maintain a 3500 calorie deficit per week.

Height: 176cm (5'9")
SW this month: 66.9kg (147,49lbs) - The highest I've been in months unfortunately, after a 2month stable 66kg weight
MEASUREMENTS
Stomach: 82cm (32,82")
Waist: 75cm (29,53")
Belly: 92cm (36,22")
Hips: 99cm (38,98") - the only thing I'm actually trying to grow isn't budging
GOALS
#1 Get a grip. Been letting it slide a lot, usually when it's free (office treats, dinners). This has to be reigned in, NOW, especially with the free-food month of the year starting.
#2 Try to lose the kilo I gained (including the cm on waist, belly, and thighs)
#3 Do NOT let myself go during the holidays
#4 I've started a powerlifting program because I really want to become stronger. First goal to aim for is being able to do at least 1 actual pull-up (or chin-up if need be).
WEIGH-INS
2 December: 66.9kg (147,49lbs)
9 December - 66.7kg (147,05) - I'm happy the weight is not going above 67kg anymore and is stabilising a bit again. Not going down either, but with what I'm eating I'm not expecting that to be honest. I think I'm slowly starting to get a bit of a grip again, although I'm having a lot of difficult moments with all the treats, chocolate, and gluhwein temptations (god damn you christmas markets!).
Workouts are better again! Absolutely already noticing a difference with the new powerlifting program. And, thanks to @cayenne_007 inspiring me, I can do 10 push-ups by now (don't laugh, this is an achievement for me ). Still don't know if I have the correct form though.
I'm also dogsitting for a bigass Mastiff and it's wearing me out! I so miss my care-free, zero-responsabilities life! Makes me appreciate it more at least! There is an upside to it though:
- I avoid eating anything since that will inevitably lead to her drooling all over my sofa
- I have to walk her (a lot!), so more movement
- I have to be home every night so no social life this week => also no wine

It is scientifically proven that having a dog will make you lose weight. I guess with a mastiff, the impact is triple, so keep on dogsitting !

12/3 - 145.0 - Ate within reason yesterday, attempting to get back on track. Other than NM - does anywhere consider a freakin frito pie a meal?
12/4 - 145.0 - rare lunch with my bf, so no workout other than barn stuff... but I skipped dinner to squeak thru on calories for the day.

12/10 - 146.0 - Yikes - I've done a terrible job checking in lately. Working to fix that.... I have been so stinkin busy that it's ridiculous. IDK how many calories I burned this wknd - but I walked over 15k steps each day and did 5974615 squats taking pictures of horses. My legs HURT yesterday (my whole damn body hurt)... She is indeed massive! But thankfully doesn't seem to stand on her hindlegs to reach stuff. She's staying until Saturday evening... I now put her away ("lock her up") in the spare bedroom (which only holds cleaning supplies on top shelves, vacuum, tools, stuff like that) while I'm out. I felt really bad about that before since I'm gone long from home but it helps with barking (otherwise she just sits at the front door and barks/growls whenever one of my poor neighbours passes by) + no valuables there. I feel a lot less bad about it now, whenever I think about my precious Jules Verne book.
And also since I hadn't had a full night sleep since Friday, she has barking episodes during the night that wake me up. It's really like a destructive baby.
Thanks for the support tho! It helps to rant a bit on here4 -
A 1942 Jules Verne book??!! Ow boy ... I usually cannot get mad at animals, but this ... well ... I understand your frustration to say the least.1
-
I am at the heaviest I have ever been in my life this week, and that makes sense because there has been a lot of stress, a lot of travel, and so much going on for the holiday season. I am at the upper end of "normal" BMI for the first time. Surprisingly, I feel pretty good about it; like, I know that while I have some extra pounds to shed to feel optimal, my emotional and mental bodies are feeling grounded and strong enough to move toward my goals.
This was my second day weighing myself, my third day logging for more than a month. I began wearing my fitbit again, and set a TWO WEEK microgoal for myself of:
Logging everyday
Doing an hour of movement every day
Staying positive and loving toward myself
December is a hard month! But...I think... not as hard as February can be, right?

As a fellow booklover - I'd be so annoyed - but as an animal lover, I'd forgive the big goober. I think there's something to it being a full moon, we have an outside dog and I swear he's barked continually all freakin night the last 2, he's usually such a good boy. I'm planning to put him in the barn this evening - it's cozy in there and I desperately need some sleep. Shutting her in the spare room while you're gone is probably a great way to stay sane while she's visiting.2 -

Fingers crossed - but I do think they're all on the mend, one I'm still a bit concerned about... A feral cat had a litter of kittens at my work so I've been feeding them since they were tiny. We live out in the country and have a barn they live in so I took all 7 home. Had them all fixed a couple of weeks ago & I think one of them picked up a cold at the vet's.....and it spread. They're sorta kinda tame... I've been cramming antibiotics down their throats the last week before work and in the evenings. I'm way too attached to the little heathens.4 -

12/11 - Did decent on food yesterday, but no workout... worked thru lunch and took my Gram to dinner. Really just trying to watch my intake this week and do the things I can do. I should get to ride this evening, so that will be fabulous.3 -

I agree! OMG... Hugs! I guess you won't be dog sitting her again!
@cayenne_007, That's a tough one! Kids and Animals. I have 3 cats and they are handful! (1 is obese, eats everything.... from other cats dishes... The newest baby is stressing out the other one which then she starting to piss ALL over the house! Then 1 brought fleas in and got the house infested! -I used a different flea repel drops 1 month cuz the Frontline was out. Just 1 thing to another)
We all need a break!
I think indeed we all need a break ! It seems as the last days of the year pile up every leftover task and stress all into one moment; and although the furry balls can be a source of joy and coziness, they also need a lot of TLC sometimes.2 -

Tired and sore but for the rest feeling good. Was out running yesterday. Nice session but now my legs are hurting. And my arms, shoulders and back from Pole the day before. With the wintery weather the skin is just so dry it wouldn't stick. Only good part about it is that it makes for an extra good exercise for the arms to not nosedive to the ground.
And is the full moon stronger than usual? The dogs'behaviour, sleep not as good as usual. it was beautiful to watch this morning though on the way to work. Almost drove my bike into a ditch because the moon was so mesmerizing to watch.
Doesn't change a thing though that I'm happy to see 3 out of 12 days being below target weight (for december) so far. Tracking is mostly accomplished. In the weekends I just get too lazy and just don't want to touch my mobile any more than necessary. Patience... Never was and probably never will be a strength of mine but all in all I am a bit less tense these days.
@l4a_p My condolences for the 1942 Jules Verne! If I had a treasure like this I'd be unhappy about it as well.3 -

@Antiopelle I am going from CLE to TUC in 11days! I can't wait for my break!!!!
Goal #1: Keep up with 4X a week of OTF
Goal #2: Meal prep more. Utilize Crockpot! Soup season!!
Goal #3: Keep photo records of self... (I've been slacking)
Goal #4: Simplify life. Not stress over things out of my control😉 (getting better at this)
This week tho I am not doing 4x of OTF. Just 2. I'm going out with peeps from work tonight and going to Yoga on Sat with BF. He's trying to eat better and now he wants to go to Yoga?! I'm taking him!
#2, I'm keeping up. #3, not so much. Haven't been motivated. #4, yes. surprisingly.
Keeping it simple. 1 gift per person and sticking to my Experience gift for Xmas. Trip to AZ and doing stuff together. It's a lot less stressful when I am not running around looking, wrapping gifts! Recommended. (and it's nice for the environment🌎)5
