I know! She is doing WW, but also has an exercise program that she sticks to consistently. I don’t think that the surgery will hold her back for long, but she needs the rest right now. Thanks!

On WA, matthewsfive most recent 3 pound loss puts her total loss at 90 pounds. Do we want to recognize that this week?

    Hi Gang!
I'm going through all the teams to see who has not appeared at all (don't we love January?) and generally just getting ready for tallies tomorrow morning.

I discovered that the user name for one of the Trimstones is wrong! @jessicakrall8 and @mulecanter - the one who was listed as jennamburchette2014 is really Jenna_XoXo

I am not sure if she ever got the message about her assignment to your team, and it may be too late, but maybe one of you could reach out to her and see if she is still interested? It was her mistake - she wrote jennamburchette2014 in the actual sign-up message, but the real user name under her photo was the correct one. I left her on the team list for now.

@jugar She's on my friends list and I've sent her a private message of apology, as well as announcing and welcoming her in the chatroom. Thanks for letting us know. Do you have her starting weight from registration? I'll fill it in on the chart. Let me know.

    Regards,
    Jessica

Did she change her name? I tried to check that - like the ricknMorty guy....

When you change your name, it changes it in the past, too.

Maybe? In any case, she did not post a starting weight.

@jugar The three new rows you added on the step spreadsheet must not have the formula because the daily steps are not adding up. I can add it myself, but it would be nice to have it worked in. Is there something you can do at this point? Thanks:)

Well team we had an awesome week one. We are number 1 on the leaderboard for weight loss. We did really well in staying in the green. Here’s to an awesome week 2 of the challenge.

Sorry I posted in the wrong thread. That’s what I get for doing multiple post when I am tired!

@jugar I notice phyllislee124fp finally posted her weight this morning. Then I noticed her name was removed from the spreadsheet. I thought we didn't do that until two NWI. In any case, she finally figured out how to post her weight. She posted it on the general feed. She is VERY new to MFP and doesn't really understand how it works. That said, she probably won't be very active, but will post weights, but you never know. I'll bug her. I have my whole life!

It might be a good time, as we hit mid-month and possible slippage and slumping, to post the link to the vision 2020 thread. It is well worth a re-read - even for those who did not post. It is inspiring. I wish we still had the day-by-day one from the week before as well, but I have not found it. (if anyone does, please post here!)

I'll be sharing this with my team https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10777165/week-5-challenge-20-20-vision-in-2020/p1

You are welcome to do the same!

@jugar I messed up the spread sheet again :s I was trying to highlight and copy the Saturday people and Idk what happened. I know Kirsten moved and Brown something is gone. I have no idea what I am doing so I didn't attempt to fix it. I am so sorry. I do this all the time with no problems and once in a while, something like this happens...

I think it is a very good idea, especially being able to refer to someone who has struggled. Lots of people go quiet and then disappear as they think it is just them and it really isn't.

Warning! This message is a bit long! But it is simply asking the opinion of all the captains, and any interested motivators. Hopefully everyone will chip in an opinion - even if it is just one word :grimace:

As you may have noticed, we are not running the usual weekly team challenges this month. We are exploring some alternatives, and this idea is one that has come up. Your opinion about the weekly challenges is also welcome!

    F2F Profiles
We have remarked that the introductions and stories that people post at the beginning of each month are really inspiring. And we all know that most of the longstanding members of F2F are a rather fabulous bunch!

So, we need to know what you think about a new series of "profiles" highlighting individual members. One would be presented weekly, bi-weekly, monthly - whatever is practical. Nominations would be made by team Captains (or motivators, or ?). Nominees would be chosen for their particular positive influence, success at moving towards their goals, struggles, or other remarkable qualities. Captains can be nominated too!
Nominations would be sent to the Moderators, who would choose and schedule. The selected nominee for each week (or whatever period is decided) would be contacted, and a list of questions will be sent to them to answer, if they agree to have their profile “published”.

The profile would be edited for length and clarity, and posted. Everyone on F2F will be able to comment, ask questions, etc. The nominee must be willing to spend some time that week answering and interacting.

Everyone profiled will be given the same list of questions to answer. Here are some possibilities - but ideally, there should not be more than around 6 or 7:
    1. Tell us a bit about yourself.
    2. What changed or what did you discover to get your weight loss going? If you had tried and failed before, what is different once you start succeeding?
    3. Is there a particular idea or source (book, blog, whatever!) that has had the greatest influence on your weight loss or fitness journey?
    4. What keeps you going?
    5. What is your biggest stumbling block?
    6. Once at your goal weight, how do you maintain (or plan to maintain)?
    7. What gifts do you give yourself?
    8. What gift would you like to give to others working on weight and fitness?
    9. What is your go to comfort food?

What do you think about this idea? If you like it, would you want to change any questions, and especially, what other questions would be really interesting? Can you make it funnier, more relevant, or more succinct?

If this goes ahead, we suggest a trial period of a month or two, and then evaluate how we think it is working. I suspect that every team has at least a couple of people to propose, so I doubt there would be a problem doing one per week. Once you have nominated someone, all the work will be done by the Moderators - so it should not be too burdensome! Of course, if you would like to be more involved, this can be arranged

The nominees would receive not only the questions, but some guidelines: we have people of many different ages, tastes, etc. so we need to be sure there is no proselytising, no advertising particular gurus, methods, and the like. Sure, mention what worked, but do not assume it is good for everyone.
Please post here your ideas on this idea! Do not nominate anyone yet! Let’s see if this can be batted around a bit and then go from there.

Thanks --- Liselyn, Rebekah, Teresa, and Lisa

    Good morning!

Austin from Slimpossibles here. @TeresaW1020 suggested this topic was one for Motivators as well as Captains, so here I am!

First off -- big wow and thank you to Liselyn, Rebekah, Teresa, and Lisa, and to all the rest of the team working in advance on all the cool ideas for Fat2Fit! (Side note -- I am totally in love with the Habit Tracker and thank everyone for that, especially! Check boxes! Habits! Streaks!)

I have... hmmmm... I have mixed feelings about the profile idea. I love some things about it, but I am not sure about others. I think I worry that it could end up being.... too polished? That people would get picked because they are successful (makes sense), and it could end up being "hearing from someone who has it all together," which can leave a listener feeling like "that's not me...?" At least that's my worry. Maybe that would depend on the questions or on the person. So maybe choose people willing to talk about the not-easy parts, for sure. That might address the wonder/concern I have.

Over in Slimpossibles, the awesomest, biggest-bang, juiciest and most inspiring conversations we are having, at least for me, are coming from people who are sharing struggles. Those are the places where we most often hear each other, and where it looks like people get inspired. I know for sure I get the most excited watching topics and ideas bounce back and forth between people.

I wonder if there is a way to do something like this, but have it be... conversational? Maybe a team would ask for several people (3?) to do this together -- so we see the questions (though likely fewer of them than the list above), and then see several different answers. If there were several questions on a related topic that all 3 were answering, that could make for more variety and more chances for people to see themselves in the topic.

And, hmmm, teams could nominate people to talk about particular ideas, and then the thread could be someone from each team, all of them chiming on on that topic?

So that's my initial reaction, for what it's worth!

I am NOT sure any of my initial reaction is valid or useful. And I am not at all attached. You can count on me to jump in and promote this, however you go with it!

    Warm regards to all,
    Austin
