I am so excited about these pickle brined chicken tenders!! They are marinating in my fridge now. Anyone else using skinnytaste? I have used more of their recipes lately. Enjoying it.

@phoebe112476 - Skinnytaste is my abosolute favorite website for recipes! Her recipes always work, my family likes them and they really are healthy. I am a baker, and her baking recipes are great too! Love how she posts meal plans every week (not that I do all of it), but she gives me ideas for the week.

Hello & Happy New Year! Sorry I have not been active on here, been busy. We were out all weekend, I did not even get any laundry done. I finally took my tree down last night, it has been up since right after Thanksgiving, I was ready to clear it out. The puppy got his space back too, lol.

A quick intro for our new members. My name is Kirsten, I am 47 years old, soon to be 48, I have been married for 20 years, have 2 sons - 19 & 15. I work full-time in the financial industry. I live in NJ, not far from NYC. I have had to watch my weight most of my life. I gained a lot going into my senior year of high school and the start of college. I changed my eating and starting working out right before I turned 21 years old. I lost a ton a ton of weight & felt great and have kept the majority of it off, but I tend to fluctuate. I am also a Lifetime member of WW. I have been Lifetime for many years and still attend weekly meetings. I have not been to one in over a month, but back on Saturday! I am currently over my WW goal, so that is my motivation, trying to get back to goal & not have to pay for the meetings & Etools.

So far this year has been going well. I have been eating well, but I have not been getting my workouts done which is a big factor for my success in losing weight. I joined a Stepbet to keep me motivated. I had to put in $40 and as long as I reach my step goals, I will get back my $40 plus part of the pot.

I am going to try to catch up with everyone's posts, I see you have all been busy on here.

    Have a wonderful evening!

Someone posted this on facebook it tickled me.... So all you nosey buggers out there who want to know my business so bad, allow me give it to you straight with no chaser regarding what has happened with my relationship. Before you start to make assumptions, now you can get it straight from the horse's mouth. It's been really hard for the both of us. For months, I have begged and pleaded and invested myself 100% in keeping it going. It has really taken a toll on me. Today I made a sound decision and plan to leave the relationship. To avoid drama and people getting things all twisted, I'll just give you the truth about what really happened. It's been a while since I've felt good about this relationship. I fell madly, deeply in love but came to realize it was toxic, addictive and all-around unhealthy. I can't deny that we will still see each other from time to time and even though it shatters my heart we need to go our separate ways. So as of 2020, my relationship with Chocolate, Doughnuts, Cup Cakes, Sweets, Mince Pies, Muffins, Brownie Bites, Scones and other assortments of cakes, cookies, and sweets has to come to an end... Now copy and paste and see who reads your entire posts to the end! 😂😂😂

    Check-In: Sun-Wed
    Food: As Planned
    Water: 1L Daily
    Exercise: Walking; Fruit Picking; Treadmill

So far so good. Having fun this week blueberry picking at a local farm. They taste so different from the store bought ones – so large & super sweet! It’s still smoky everywhere from the bush fires here in Australia for months (often hard to breathe, had to buy an air purifier!).

@sleepymom5 - Thanks for your kindness, prayers & doing an awesome job at being so motivating to all! Hope your health swings back to normal again soon!

Oh my goodness what fun – I so admire those of you who are so active & adventurous! You make me see stars to aspire to! All of you are amazing & I am so surprised that it’s not just the highs, but the lows in life that are inspiring - those who are going through some rough patches, but keep getting right back up & the necessary self-care too, it’s a good reminder for all! Hang in there guys, you’re doing great!

@Mrsbell8well – I have reached my goal weight x2 in my life (not there now but) & I must say that I can’t believe that I had completely forgotten about that pleasure of saying “damn, you look good girl!”, I so miss that feeling & all that it represents! You made me smile & lit a big spark of extra motivation for me, thanks! Thanks for sharing your introduction too – that was very inspirational! You’re so right, Optimal Health is Everything – humans are really so fragile & can be fleeting to anyone, so definitely making the most of it & enjoy life at its best, & we’ll all be joining you in maintenance soon at our best too!

@nstephenson01 & @ljdanny – Got to say I love the resolution you both have, “deciding to live life this year” & “embracing all life has to offer” – that’s the way!! I’m totally with you on the 24hr plan too, takes the stress out of it & each success is so motivating!

@phoebe112476 – That’s an awesome idea, to listen to audio books while doing chores (suppose on walks too!), thanks!

@amsandos – Bahaha! That’s ridiculously funny – the beginning totally roped me in with concern, ahaha!! Thanks!!

@Freeglerock – I became a morning person a couple of months ago (waking at sunrise!) The switch was overnight, after being unconscious till 2pm most days for many years from severe Adrenal Exhaustion!
    What worked for me was:
*** Asleep before 9:30pm, as your natural body clock is set to that time & if you ignore it the body releases stress hormones to stay awake that affect everything including being able wake up naturally in the morning.
*** Then even more important was the 20min window immediately after waking to have a protein smoothie (with healthy fats like 1tsp tahini & 1Tb coconut oil; plus a little fruit) …with Adrenal Exhaustion there’s a 20min window of normal before the body switches over into a stress response for the rest of the day that makes me a pathetic weak zombie. But if I have the smoothie all is calm & relatively stable with a little energy to play with. But that's me...
My morning routine: Sipping my smoothie watching the sunrise & then sunbathing while trying to practice mindfulness exercises – this sets a nice calm mood for the day.

I’m really enjoying reading everyone’s posts & I hope everyone is having a great week!

I am trying to catch up on past posts. @amsandos sorry your sick. I haven’t been sick for over a year but this season I too went down. So many people have gotten it. Hope your better soon. It took me about 2 weeks. I’m actually just now coming out of it. Congratulations on finishing and completing your project by New Years. What a wonderful accomplishment! Strong is a great buzz word.
@Cafelelia sorry to hear your son has the flu. It’s so scary when it’s our children. I remember when your one son was sick and you stayed by his side all day. That’s how I felt with Skylynn. I would watch her sleep.
I too live Baileys for the holidays. Especially now that they have an almond milk based vegan friendly choice.
@phoebe112476 I just read your wonderful intro! What an inspiring remarkable journey. I am at the top of my normal BMI at 142. My weight fluctuates between 142-144ish. During my last cleanse I hit 139. That was fun but didn’t feel necessary to stay that low. I would prefer to stay between 139-142 but I’m not at all fussing at my current range. Love it! I’m so excited for you to get to your first goal of 150. Your so close. I remember those last few pounds. The last 2 were the hardest and I ended up getting very stubborn and pushing for them. Some of it became mental for me. I was so tired of “trying “. It was such a relief to just hit goal! Congratulations on your great success!
@twyla77 I remember when you were down at your lowest. You will get there again. I totally understand the goal number of 124. Take a deep breath and keep posting. Enjoyed reading your intro.
@amytriesww I have been wondering how your operation went and how your doing. I am so glad that is behind you and your on the road to recovery. Take it slow and steady.
    @nstephenson01 your barn is beautiful!
@gingerpwr I have missed you. It’s nice to have you back! I too follow Adriene yoga. I had to take a break and am very eager to get back.
@1theresamcvean I love your words of the year. I have suffered bouts of vertigo several times in my life. I appreciate your positive attitude and energy in life!

@lennoncpa I always love trying new health plans. Something about having someone telling me what to do and how to do it. Especially with all the wonderful promises of radiant health. My current one I’m getting ready to try includes 1/2 cup nuts a day. I thought to myself oh oh not a good plan for Sherryl! Lol. I always think about you when I sit down to eat pistachios. It’s too easy to get carried away.
@tryingagain5 4 months already? Glad to have you on our team.
@rosieposiesrl happy to have you on our team! Good idea about the air purifier. What tragic happenings. I appreciate all your great team support and comments. I woke at 3:30 am and decided to catch up on some posts. Your comments brought a big smile to my face. Thank you!
As most of you know it’s hard to play catch up when you get behind on posts. So much good stuff. I apologize if I have missed commenting on all of you. Still reading through. Especially with all the new team members.
We had lovely snow here yesterday. It was our first snowfall of the season.
January week 1 down. Already??? Geez I’m trying to be patient with myself as I get back into my groove. Getting there one day at a time.
    January goals:
    1-Dr.Gundry’s cleanse
    2-organize my planner
3-take a 3 day weekend to read and relax at country house (in 2 weeks)
    4-clean the house
5-set up my new lunch bag
6-start back running, yoga and rowing oh how I have missed working out!
7-schedule dates with wifey. Molly does so much to support our family. I promised her there would be more “us” time in 2020. I was so focused on me in 2019.
    8-breathe
9-hire 2 more employees (making an offer today).
10-I am hesitating to add this last one but I will...weigh 142 or less by February 1st. My goal is 142 and I have done a great job maintaining. I weighed 143 on January 1st and was super delighted! But with the cleanse that should be a reasonable goal and expectation.

    Tuesday Check in

Food - logged & started 24 hour fast yesterday afternoon.
    Water - 2l
    Steps/Exercise - 55 minute walk and 12,610 Steps

Good day yesterday. My leg has not been perfect, but I did well on my walk. I am going to talk to my doctor about an MRI. I have done physio for a while now, and while the sciatica injury pain has greatly reduced, I am still not 100%. I managed to rescue my coffee maker by cleaning thoroughly, but I need to get a new one. I am very particular about my coffee!

@brown6267 - Thanks for posting those steps! We will try to get this step challenge going (beyond the two of us!)

@Mrsbell8well - Glad that you are feeling better! Love those photos and your goals!

@rosieposiesrl - Mmm, fresh blueberries! I am so sorry about the fires in Australia and I hope that you stay safe where you are.

@Freeglerock - Congratulations on getting to Onederland!! That is amazing!

@amsandos - Your post about the “break up” was hilarious! Hope that you feel better today, and great loss!

@JillyBT - Fantastic day! Please consider joining the step challenge, you may win it all!

@kirsten11872 - What a great idea to join a stepbet! Financial incentives are always good!

@phoebe112476 - I love your weekly plan and how you structure it. You are so close to goal, and on an amazing yoga streak! Congratulations!

@nstephenson01 - I find those 24 hour plans really do help. Also, some of us need to ramp up slowly re changes in the New Year. I am definitely one of those people!

@sleepymom5 - You absolutely can do this and are doing it! Small steps are the way to go! We are Apple Watch friends now, and please help me to close my rings!!

    Check In: Tuesday
    Food: Ugh... not good
    Water: Good
Exercise: JessicaSmithTV 30 minute strength training video, 30 minute dog walk; 11,053 steps

So the day started out well enough... I made my 24 hour plan, began laundry and did my strength training workout. I didn't realize my husband expected me to help him on the barn. It was very physically challenging, nerve wracking and at times darn scary. Just when I thought we were finally done he wanted to do more. I kept telling myself my 24 hr plan is just a plan... its not written in stone, its meant to be fluid. He needs my help and I'm fortunate to be physically able to help... all the positive self talk... blah, blah, blah. By the time we finished I was so tired, hungry and frustrated. I missed lunch but wanted to stay on track and not dive into a bag of chips so I made a snack of an apple, swiss cheese (weighed) and crackers (counted). He came in and took one of my crackers then looked at me and said "you counted & logged those, didn't you". LOL He knows me so well but I was in no mood. Dinner was sheet pan shrimp fajitas which I don't think would be very unhealthy but I ate way too much. By the end of the day I completely lost my patience and let loose on him a bit.

Every muscle in my body is sore today... even my armpits LOL. I am up 2.5 pounds from last Thursday :( Thinking it might be a good day to rest but I'm going to do a short workout on the Bowflex just to move my body a little. Its snowing so not sure I'll take the dogs for a walk.
Food is planned, need to work on my "24 hr plan". Also going to focus on upping my water today.

Today is another day to make it a good day.

@freeglerock yes indeed congrats on being in Onederland! So thrilling!!!!
@rosieposiesrl Oh yes fresh picked blueberries what a divine treat!
@Cafelelia I liked someone else's suggestion about having a back up coffee maker lol. I switched to herb teas but Molly still makes morning coffee. I just love the smell. Sorry to hear about your pain. I know it has gotten tons better but it is still annoying. Have you ever tried an acupuncturist?

i have been doing good with weighing and logging my food. my steps have been over 10,000, not sure if that will happen today because i might take a rest day and get a few things done around the house after work. my feet have been killing me, i went to my neurologist yesterday for a check up because i suffer from migraines and i had really bad vertigo a couple of months ago, she checked my feet and wants me to see a specialist. she is also sending me to a neurosurgeon for my neck, yikes!! i'm hoping i do not have to give up any exercise because i am getting into a routine, and i like the money going into my envelope. i have been too tired to get up before work to exercise but i'm hoping that will change, i thought with the time change it might but that didn't happen. i have to get in some sort of routine. hoping for some sort of loss on the scale this week even if it's a little one.

@timibotkin Timi I know your history but reading it again...oh my goodness...what challenges you have faced. I am always in awe of your generous spirit. You seem so grounded as you try to take care of yourself and those around you. Prayers to you my dear. One day at a time.
@Zumba_Luvah I am so happy to see a midweek post from you. It is completely understandable why you don't usually post midweek. Your life is so full. When you get a chance I would love to know what kind of pets you have.
@ljdanny that is frightening about your neck and your feet. I am really happy that you are seeking medical help. So many times we ignore things. Glad your on top of it and hopefully find answers soon. It is discouraging when you get started on a routine and get side tracked with health issues. Many of us on this team can relate to that. Good luck!
@1theresamcvean Hope your appointments went well. I love evening walks! Is it cold where you live?
@sleepymom5 what a generous birthday present to have William there to celebrate with you! Happy Birthday!!! I wish I could deliver a birthday cake to you in person lol!
@tryingagain5 awesome loss this week! You are doing great. all your efforts are paying off! BTW...I enjoyed your intro as well. Its so nice that you have family that you are close to.
