You got it! I want to be closer to 135 by my surgery on March 10th. Thirty-nine days. I know that's asking a lot, but I'm gonna try to stay in the wagon!!
Chris1 -
139.8 at 8:40 this morning. Sleepin' in is so great!!
Met the kids at the library in Brentwood for the book sale. First time I'd been there. It's a really nice place!! Huge! Lots of books on sale. You got one of their bags, filled it as full as you could and paid only $7.00 for everything!! I had to double-step the stairs going up because my right hip wouldn't take my weight. We took the elevator down.
Now, I'm going to read until the kids drop off R&B so they can go to a grown-up dinner.
Have a great Saturday, my friends.
Chris0 -
That sounds like a great way to spend an afternoon Chris. Book sales are great! Great loss also. Seems like you surgery date is moving quickly.
Took today mostly off. It is really windy here.
Shelley0 -
Chris - can't believe your surgery is coming up soon. You were going to do so well because you are taking care of yourself beforehand. I think I mentioned my husband had both hips replaced and my mom had her left hip replaced. My husband is extremely active and oh my goodness the recovery was completely different. You will be moving again in no time. Are you getting a full hip replacement or a partial?
So I took yesterday to just relax after my trip. The time zone difference from Brazil is only two hours, but I think I only slept maybe 2 to 3 hours on the 10-hour flight. Pretty knocked out.
I did a really good job eating sensibly on this trip. I was able to still do the intermittent fasting but not quite have as long a window on some of the days. Several days it was like normal.
I plan to go to the gym this morning after I wake myself up :-) then down to the produce store to get lots of yummy veggies for the week. We have a Super Bowl party at our neighbor's house tonight that we always go to. I may go just for a short time depending on how I feel. I always like to watch that halftime show on the commercial :-) but no plans to overindulge.
Have a great day!

Shelley, it was so fun to watch Ronan try to interact with a boy about his same age. The boy was the son of a friend of Sara's. Pat found a book he wanted. Sara and Pete got things for Ronan and she found a number of books she wanted. Everything I saw, I already had. Nothing else interested me.
Karen, it's a full hip replacement surgery. Can't wait to start walking again. When we drive around town, I think...we used to walk here or down that path by the canal or to the post office to drop off out bills. 37 days to go.
139.8 again this morning at 9:00. Tomorrow will be higher at 5:30 for sure, but I am staying on track!
Chris0 -
Karen so glad you did good on your trip. Hope you enjoyed the Super Bowl. I was not happy with the Half Time Show. I was looking forward to being entertained. Not bombarded with political views. And I must say I am glad there were no children around where I watched it. Sad part is I like their music usually. I may have overindulged a little.
Chris I can so believe you already had everything you might have been tempted by. Muahaha Watching children play is fun. Glad you had a good time.
Spent at least 3 hours cleaning my large tank. Had to catch a silly molly that had escaped being eaten at birth and living in the overflow. Scooped it out and put it into the display tank. To big for them to eat now. Mind you the overflow is in the center of my tank in the back. So to catch the fish out of it while standing on a step stool, and holding a flashlight in one hand an a long net in another was no easy task. The overflow holds somewhere around 5 gallons. The fish was healthy looking for one having spent the last few months in the dark.
Heading downstairs to get in a workout.
Shelley0 -
Your molly made me laugh, Shelley!
141.2 this morning at 5:30. Hope it keeps going down this week. Watched the boys, went to see our trainer for 60 mins., went shopping, made soup and now it's reading time!!!
Chris1 -
Sorry I’ve been away so long ladies. Let me just say jet-lag is a reality. I didn’t adjust well returning home. So tired and couldn’t sleep for days. Still on Australian time. Not good. My eating has been horrible and no exercise. Also a death in the family. My favorite uncle passed away Saturday and it’s been really sad. He was my father’s youngest brother and gone too soon. No excuses just life and death happening. It’s time to get back on the wagon and back on the scale. I’ve been afraid to weigh myself but hiding will not help. I’m going to weigh tomorrow morning and it’s what it is.
Time to put in the work.
Kathy1 -
Glad you are home safe, Kathy. You'll get back on the wagon. You know what to do.
140.4 this morning at 5:30...maybe. Had the boys this morning then reading the rest of the afternoon!
Chris1 -
Kathy so sorry for your families loss. It never gets easier. Glad you are back safey. I have been afraid to weigh in also.
Chris keep going down. You are doing good. And that molly was funny. Or maybe the image of me trying to rescue him was.
I was 145 this morning. Did well eating today. And almost 17,000 steps in. Got the official snow fall for yesterday. 12 inches. And blowing!
Shelley0 -
Kathy, I'm sorry for your loss. Shelley's right...it never gets easier.
140.6 this morning at 5:30 a.m. I don't like this creepin' up stuff. I was really good yesterday. Maybe not enough water, tho. I'll do better about drinking it today.
Chris0 -
192.8 this morning...I thought it would be worse. Thanking my lucky stars and will get to it.
As always thanks for the support ladies!
Kathy1 -
Chris I hate when I am good and it creeps up anyway!
Kathy glad to hear it was not as bad as you guessed.
I did weights yesterday. And got up this morning and lifted them again for 40 minutes. Already have12,000 steps in so not sure what I will do tonight.
Shelley0 -
Kathy - Glad you are finally able to handle re-entry. Well. That's what it what I call it. When you come back after the jet lag. And an Australia time zone change has to be really crazy. Glad you are back and in your groove again.
This has been a bit of a crazy week for me. I was in a car accident on Monday where somebody who wasn't watching pulled his car out in front of mine.bb no serious injuries. Thank goodness. I have gone to the chiropractor a couple of times. My car not so lucky. Driveable, but I can tell the damage is going to be expensive. :-) I was hit by young person without insurance, which is really annoying. He first lied and told me he had insurance, but then when I called the police and they came it turned out he didn't it was a different story. So I will likely be liable for the $500. It just irritates me :-)
So I did go to the gym yesterday and just walked to get the cobwebs out. :-) and plan on going back this morning. I'm really grateful that I have no serious physical issues.
Been snacking a little too much for my liking so I'd like to get that out of the way. I've been eating. Okay, but it's at snack after dinner that has been way too many carbohydrates and probably a little bit too much so working on that right now.
Karen0 -
Karen, I'm glad you are okay. I'm glad you weren't hurt. So sorry the kid isn't insured. Car stuff is a PIA for sure.
Fell off the wagon yesterday. 140.8 Thursday and 141.6 this morning at 5:30. Peppermint, Ritz and pbutter got me good. Should have gone outside and walked around the block but I told myself it was too cold, and that I had to get the peppermint out of the car glove box, where I keep it in case I get car sick, and consume it. Then I had to clean out the jar of pb in the fridge because my sweet DH was mixing up my new jar. I had to use a spatula and scrape the edges of the old jar to get out every last lick of pb before I tossed the jar in the trashcan. Then I took some of DH's Ritz and worked on that last bit of pb. His Ritz are low salt but the pb at the bottom of the jar is salty because the mixer blades can't get around the bottom edges of the jar so, I was pretty happy in the end!!! Well, except for this morning's weigh in...
Here is something I find interesting...DH gets low salt Ritz, I get low fat. My Ritz hold up better when scraping thru a mound of pb than DH's Ritz. He crumble so easy. And the same thing happens with graham crackers. He gets regular and I get low fat. His just break apart in pb so easily where mine hold up, no problem. Crazy, right?
Okay, must go get the boys in about 10 mins. I'll see our trainer at noon today. Tomorrow I get to sleep in!!
Chris

Chris fat, crisco and such make things fluffy or flaky. I love to bake. Watching good eats with Anton has taught me a thing or two also. I love peanut butter also. Boy did you enjoy yours. I could actually see you in your post!
Karen so glad you are ok. Was he ticketed? You could ask the district Attorney to make restitution of your deductible part of his judgement. Not sure how they do it there but it can't hurt to ask. And snacking extra after something like that is ok for a few days
144.6 today. Starting to go down
Shelley0 -
Boy, it sounds like snacking has been in the air a little bit this week. :-) guess we needed it. I actually read an article about how overeating slightly is actually good for your metabolism. I'm going to take that as truth, LOL! I guess I was just feeding my metabolism. LOL! Hope that makes you feel better Chris. :-)
I need to call over and get a copy of the police report. My insurance company said they would call me as soon as they had it. Police officer did tell this young man that he had only 8 hours to get his documentation to the police station or he would be ticketed and fined and I believe might lose his license. Crazy. But good idea about the district attorney Shelley. I hadn't thought of that. My insurance company did tell me that they would try to go after him for not only the money for my deductible, but also the repairs.
I went to the collision shop yesterday for an estimate. They can't take it in until March 9th cuz they are so swamped, which is okay because it's drivable. But they estimated the damage at $5,000. I need a new front grill a whole new front component and a new hood. And they said once they get it off. They'll see if any of the sensors were impacted which will just continue to add up the dollars. :-)
I had scheduled a massage for myself this morning, which is perfect timing. My husband got me one for My birthday so great timing to use it. Hope everybody has a great Saturday!
Karen0 -
Karen I was in an accident years ago. It took my insurance company a year to collect from the other insurance company. Good luck. Hope your birthday massage was relaxing.
I was a bit put off by some of my crew yesterday. They moved the large locker that I use a drawer in for my personal belongings. They moved it into a room that the door locks when you enter it. They did it to put a deep freeze in where the cabinet was. And didn't ask me how I would feel about it. I found out when I went to get something and found it moved! And there are 2 freezers that are never full now. Not even close. So I am going to not participate in their luncheons anymore. Sure will save me a ton of calories. And I am going to move a few small items every week for the next 5 years. Moving my things to a room that locks is a big violation of my personal space.
Sorry for the rant.
Shelley0 -
I got in an accident right after we got the Sonata...young girl looking at her phone hit the guy in front of her who hit an old guy behind me, the old guy hit me. I didn't hit the big truck in from to me because I have this rule that I have to see the tires of the car/truck in front of me when I stop. That is the only reason I didn't end up under the truck. I didn't have any trouble w/insurance or getting the Sonata fixed. They did take the old guy to the hospital.
Shelley, why would they do something like that? What are the deep freezes for? Does somebody buy gallon ice cream by the 100's? I'm having a hard time understanding...do they put dead bodies in them? And how many dead bodies do you have in town that you need three deep freezers? I thought dead bodies went to the morgue. I'm so confused.
I don't even want to write down my weight this morning. ugh.
Chris0 -
Chris staying back a bit sure did help you limit the damage. I didn't mean there are 3 deep freezers, sorry. We have two fridges and each have a freezer. But they are half empty. They are for our breakroom. There are only about 8 of us using them. But one guy likes to cook. He cooks all the time. He uses a grill in the garage and several different hot plates and grills in the breakroom. We have no windows or real ventilation. Makes no sense to me why he felt he needed it and had the right to move my things. And now I will have to deal with a lock every time I need something. He is always rearranging things to suit himself. And since our sgt. Let's him there is nothing I can do about it. But I will be x#$%$# if I am going to bring in desserts or anything else for them again. I heard he wants everyone to pitch in to buy meat for lunches now. Not this gal. I am going to be the ghost that moves little things around to annoy them. I moved some utensils around when I left Friday. Spatulas and such. Oh and their potholders. I won't be supplying paper plates anymore either.a
Shelley0 -
I like your style, Shelley!! Get them! keep us posted.
We had to go to DDD's and give her cat medicine then drop the Santa Fe off for service then shower then our trainer for 60 mins then pick up the Santa Fe the shop then make soup. Long day. My feet are so unhappy.
Chris1 -
Shelley - I don't blame you there. I never think it's okay to move somebody else's stuff. Saving calories is not a bad thing, LOL!
I in a bunch of weeklong meetings at work. Which always means a ton of food. They serve breakfast, usually a huge lunch and afternoon snacks which tend to be some sort of baked goods. I'm trying to steer away from all of it and fast during lunch. I made it through yesterday. :-) I'm still doing the intermittent fasting which I like a lot. Can't tell you how much weight I've lost as I've continued to not weigh myself. But I'm almost back into a size 10 pants, which is very exciting for me. Definitely down some weight, but trying not to worry so much about what the scale says. I also went to an Academy Awards party with my sister and wore a dress that I got at a store for $5 that turned out to look really great. I post a picture of my sister and I. We had a nice time.
We also have dinners on Wednesday and Thursday night. So more eating out likes! Hoping to navigate it. Well. This week one not be a lot of time for exercise. I can tell.
Karen0 -
My Sis Jen and I going to an Oscar's Party on Sunday....and my bargain dress lol!

193.0 this morning. Joined a gym yesterday and I’m headed to workout this morning. I joined Planet Fitness because it’s closest to my home and the lower cost will allow me to also take swimming lessons which I’ve missed this month. This is my official reset!
Kathy2 -
Kathy - Good for you! You can do it! I belong to Planet Fitness and like it a lot!
Karen2 -
Chris I love it when you make soup. Reminds me of the you I first met here.
Karen love the photo. I would have never guessed she is your sis! So glad you had such a great time.
Kathy I am so excited for you. You go sister!
Cooper was supposed to have his teeth cleaned today. His get said his heart murmur would not take it. And that he didn't think he would make it until summer. Breaks my heart.Rocky is having outpatient surgery on his nose Tuesday. He is excited. Which reminds me, how about a count down Chris for your surgery?
Goodnight my sisters,
Shelley0 -
COUNT DOWN...26 days until hip surgery!!!
Shelley...Who is Copper and I don't understand about his heart murmur. Why is Rocky getting his nose fixed? Can I go with him and get my neck skin tightened up? The soup turned out a bit spicy this time and Ronan loves it with mashed potatoes. It's actually really good with mashed potatoes mixed in. yumm! Who knew? You know I've made chicken/bean soup forever and never thought of that until we had a grandbaby!!!
Great pic Karen! Great deal on the pretty dress! You look fab, lady!!
Let us know about the new gym, Kathy. Happy for you.
We get the boys then have the Hip Replacement Class today. Going to see if I can get out of it. Sitting for 2 1/2 hours is not my idea of fun since it makes my hip hurt...what dummy thought of this?? Need to get blood work done too. It's going to be a long morning.
Chris

Rocky had to sit through a class for his knee surgery also. It was a lot shorter than anticipated. Hope yours is shorter also. Cooper is my old dog. He has had a murmur for years. Just got bad recently. But he is almost 15. Rocky has trouble breathing. He has a lot of polyps. His septum is all messed up and they plan on working on it and some other thing I don't remember. And if they are tightening up neck skin I am going with you. We can get a 2 for one! Love the count down.
Bye now
Shelley0 -
Trying to post a photo of the window in my moms room. I managed to finally. But it took 2 tries! Hahaha
