Not traveling at all Chris. I don't mind one bit especially with everything going on right now.

Saturday - 45 minutes strength training- lower body and abs 45 minutes - Treadmill.
Kathy1 -
Sara's school district is shut down for 2 or 4 weeks...forgot what she said. She has to go in because she is mgmt but hopefully, she'll let them know we need her and they'll release her. We'll see. Sure hope we get a handle on this and get it contained somehow.
I was hoping to be better by now, but this still hurts like crazy when I stand up and walk. Sitting and laying down is okay. Pat needs to help me in and out of bed because our bed is really high...at my hip...and I can lift or lower my legs without nasty pain. It'll get better, tho.
Have a great Sunday you guys.
Chris1 -
Chris - it takes time...I've supported 3 hips now, and patience is so hard. It is such big surgery if you think about it. Sounds like you are doing really well!! Hang in there!
Karen1 -
Gym was still open yesterday, but I decided to walk outside...almost 3 miles.....50 min walk.
I think the gym will close as well. The governor of PA has asked all non essentials to close.
Karen1 -
Karen, do you remember how long it took your patients to walk unassisted? Here, I thought I could get cut open, new joint inserted, sewed back up and jump outta bed for a 5 mile walk all in the same week...bwahahahah! Such a foolish little girl! Wishful thinking, I think!
In the beginning we thought it would only be a week that we wouldn't have Ronan but it doesn't look like it. SIL was talking about taking Ronan to the Kid's Club at his gym while he worked w/his clients. Man! that made me pretty mad! Don't be dumb. Too many germs. We (Pat) will watch him for a couple of hours starting tomorrow but not as many as we were. We'll see how that goes.

Sunday - 60 minutes on recumbent bike.
Chris - patience, patience. You will get there. And you’re correct too many germs.
Karen - I think PF will close as well. Going to the park today to get my walk in.

Chris - it was definitely a couple good weeks before both my mom and my husband could walk unassisted. You know the Walker for a week, and then I believe they moved to the cane
and then obviously that took some time. Interestingly enough my husband who had 2 hips done had different experiences with each hip. His surgeon said to him every hip is unique :-)
Be gentle with yourself. Sometimes it's two steps forward and one step back. You had a major surgery and it sounds like you were doing great, but don't push it too hard :-) it's not like you can go anywhere anyway right? Is everything shut down in your area like it is here?

I have really been off my game last week with both eating and exercising. I think it's the Corona and stress and anticipation of that. Of course all the gyms are closed.
My husband and I are 100% work from home now and my daughter is out of school for at least two weeks. I think it's going to be longer than 2 weeks. We did go to the park yesterday and walk a few miles which was nice. Trying to figure out how to get exercise in is going to be a challenge. But we will do our best.
My goal is to do a 20 hour fast today to get me back in the groove. Always a challenge after overindulging a little bit but I'm in.
Have a great Monday!
Karen1 -
Great advice you guys. You know me all too well. I just want to be walking and squatting and lifting...Oh, the old days!!! ha! And here I sit!
Chris0 -
Took a lunch break and did a 40 minute walk!
Karen0 -
Just looked on Amazon prime and tons of workout videos....going to try some during this time of social isolation
Karen0 -
Good idea, Karen. I would gladly give you a number of workout videos...oh, wait do you have a VHS reader? Okay, I'll keep those. When the kids were little they were my workouts. I'm glad I have our trainer now. At least when I say, "NO!" she says, "YES!" and I have to do the exercise. I can't just walk away pretending I have to use the bathroom.
Chris0 -
I have been off my game also. All this virus stuff. We have it in Wyoming now. My mom did not make it here. Hopefully later. Our courthouse is still open. Cancelling trials.
Been doing a lot of walking. Ordered my fish food. If we get locked down I don't want them to go without.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, we are in lock down here in northern California. Very strange. Folks are crazy.
Chris1 -
Chris - I do still have a VCR :-) those things are worth a lot of money today :-)
Shelley - I've also been doing a lot of walking. Also Planet Fitness :-) so definitely a new normal. I had ordered my cat food from chewy online and it usually gets here in one day. Took eight days! It's a good thing I ordered extra. I was getting nervous.
I really want to make sure that I try to keep things tight during this social isolation and don't gain weight. I think it's so easy to do that. This is such an odd and stressful situation isn't it?
Here for you gals!
Karen1 -
40 min walk with my family last night1
-
Karen it is very stressful. And I hate that some folks are not taking it serious. I have a VCR player also. I still have some workout tapes I love.
Books are good also.
Chris when I drive to work it is really light traffic. And I know you have lots of books.
Shelley0 -
50 minute walk at the park - 3.3 miles. Nice to be in the fresh air!
Kathy1 -
Took an hour walk during lunch today!1
-
2 walks today...totaling 60 mins1
-
Nice that you two could get out and walk. So good for the soul.
I made 8 large plates of zuchinne bread. Did my bills. Gave away a beautiful female mandarin. I needed a male. My friend have me a coral that was dying in exchange. Funny how they will die in one tank and thrive in another with no visible differences. We did the whole hostage exchange thing. Keep our distance, hands away from your face!Busy day. Then noticed I had taken my fitbit off to clean! You're ago.
Shelley0 -
Shelley - sounds productive!0
-
Took the dogs for a walk. Had to carry Cooper a lot . His arthritis was really bothering him. Barney is doing really good. He is not lashing out and was able to be off leash. We people kept our social distances.
Gave my neighbor some buffalo and pound cake. Rocky cautioned me not to give out to much. I told him to tighten his belt. We need to help each other now more than ever.
Shelley0 -
Wish I had a puppy I could take for a walk...wish I could walk. Sat in my chair most of the day after we made a new pot of soup. Pat was a great help. We'll take some to the kids...somehow. We have to go to Kaiser to p/u a script tomorrow. That'll be my first car ride if we can figure out how to get me up into the Santa Fe.
Chris0 -
Need to get more exercise today than I did yesterday :-)1
-
I e got to get out of this funk and start moving again. I really miss PF!1
-
I'm going to try and walk down the block this afternoon. Must start moving more.
Chris1 -
30 minute walk at lunch1
-
Did three walks to the end of the block yesterday...mind you, that's 2 1/2 houses and back...but it was beautiful out there! Fresh air! I'll see what today brings. Windy and cold out there now. Big clouds. Rain?? maybe.
