Everything is depressing, so I'm going to share some cheerful videos that make me smile.
In the spirit of learning, here's a fast guide to Japanese language learning that is also an incredibly fun song: https://youtu.be/7I2Ryji_9Js
And on that note, hilariously Japanese video about learning English through aerobics: https://youtu.be/CKjaFG4YN6g
Old school fun, man stuck in empty airport makes music video for to All By Myself by Celine Dion: https://youtu.be/L1bGwGdFtjE
Cat Yodelling:

No cats are harmed. Two cats are mildly inconvenienced.1 -

Got you, Sylvia! Your average daily step of 10,000+ is impressive. Something that I definitely aspire to. Thanks for finding me!
Ha! don't let that fool you...I think that only averages the days that you've actually WORN your fitbit...I've had a big gap in time since those big marches. But now I'm inspired to try getting those steps in again. Today will be on the low end...a bit raw out there today.2 -

Sent you a friend request! Yay!
@eggfreak Sent you a friend request on Fitbit too!3 -
Ohhhhhh, I'm going to have a gain this week if I don't watch it. Too many cookies. Not enough movement. Is this year over yet? That's all I've got. Hugs y'all!4

It’s lovely catching up with your wonderful writings this week. Most of the day I thought it was Tuesday but, Nooooo! It’s Wednesday. Oops! I’ll weigh in tomorrow, @jugar.
Both Sarah and I are home - out of work until they tell us otherwise. We took a 2 1/2 mile walk today and the sun was part of it for a while, too.
Some days, I’ve gotten several things worked in and other days, meh. Not so much. But, hey. It’ll all get sorted eventually.
Tomorrow, I plan on a walk either right before or after brekky then, finish homework for Stats and have remote class at 1:00. I must admit that it’s great to have less time in the car and more time listening to music, audiobooks, and all that jazz.
Thanks for the music choices, @jugar! I look forward to listening again on the morrow.
Sleep well!
So glad that we’re all here together!4 -
Only 2 weigh-ins due:
@evelynladams527
@cory17
and @juliemargaretkim I hold out hope, but she has not been on MFP at all for two weeks now. She can come back any time!1 -

Accidentally bought unsweetened yogurt again. Whyyyy do they have to put it in the exact same color and design container as the vanilla?!
Tried to sweeten it with some chocolate protein powder I have and the result tasted like sandy vomit (I think that powder is just way too gritty). So I had to get fast food for breakfast. Today is gonna be a bad day for calories. Sigh.
Oh well. One bad day isn't the end of the world.
Think I gotta come to terms with just not being able to eat fruit too. No matter what it is, it wrecks my stomach and stalls my weight loss.3 -
IDEA SEARCH!The four moderators have been running the full group challenges since the new year. We had the photo challenge this month with a different theme for each day of the week, last month we had the 29 questions of leaping groundhogs, and in January we had 20/20 vision to work on our goals.
I think the April challenge should come from team members. I'm asking all the teams to come up with some ideas. Or revive a previous challenge we had that you liked. What would be fun, useful, and get people from all the teams participating? In the past we have had all kinds of things: points-based games (minutes of exercise, sticking to plan, etc. earning baseball runs or just points), thoughtful questions, photo challenges, daily "pile up" (check this for example), goal setting, daily fitness from darebee or other easy to use sites, recipes, etc. etc.
Bring 'em on!0 -

I really enjoyed reading everyone's weights being interpreted as memorable years! And I would suggest that even with the surplus of time that a lot of us have, thinking of 5 different things to do each week for the month can be quite challenging (I certainly struggle). Perhaps just having one or two topics/challenges throughout the month would be easier, and get more people involved?
Just my tuppence worth!2 -
Hey team! It sounds like we are all trying to figure out this new normal, but the struggle is real.
I can't find balance. I have tried different schedules, but regardless, the kids have meltdowns when they aren't supposed too. Work stuff takes longer then expected. Weather doesn't corporate. Quality time baking leads to me over eating.

I know I can't keep up with the daily challenge so easy...maybe Yinka's right, once a week...and you have the whole week to accomplish that challenge... I know one habit/challenge that I've wanted to do for myself is to have one entire day in the week in which for every meal, I only eat foods as whole as I can get them (not processed) - veggies/fruit/meat/grains. There's one week's challenge. Another week might be to cook one meal using ingredients you've never used before - bok choy or taro or leeks or shrimp, etc.....

Thanks for the thoughts on challenges! It's always tricky to hit the right level so that everyone has enough to keep inspired and on track, but no so much that it gets overwhelming. There are people who work and people who do not, but they are always optional in any case! You do as much or as little as you like. I am collecting ideas from the other teams as well, so we'll see what shakes out.
I am happy to say I heard from @juliemargaretkim - she has not dropped out! She is just having to do all her university teaching, faculty meetings, family contact, etc. by computer right now, and adding any more is too much screen time to contemplate. She'll move to support team for now, and then she retires at the end of the semester and will be with us more again.
I took a crazy steep walk today. Up up up up and more up on the escarpment, and the views at the top were great. I'll post some pics later.5 -
Doctor officially released me today, make to normal. Was able to take a 20 minute walk today, first walk in 4 weeks.6

What wonderful news! I'll bet that walk was like coming out of the winter den into the fresh air. Do your lungs feel bigger now?4 -

If I missed anyone, now's the time to tell me to go back with the right glasses on. I have too many and get confused sometimes...0 -
@jugar 183.1...oh, so close. Next week will be another good one. Maybe I'll be ready for the next decade down soon. I hope so! I think my spouse is getting a bit more on board with losing weight and getting some damned exercise. At least we've been taking longish walks this week.
I can't believe April is almost upon us. Wild! Still adjusting to more online time with my Stats class. The teacher is finally getting a bit more into the 21st century. wahoo!
I've got a bunch of stuff to pass in for him to grade then, I can go back to do more Chemistry. Who'd have ever thought that I'd like a break from math by doing Chemistry! Strange times, indeed!
I like the idea of the pile on month. It seems as though we've had a year in one week so, why not? It's definitely a challenge to get them all done but I'll try to get online earlier in the day to be more (gulp) *disciplined*. Not a user-friendly word in my experience. However, I know how much I actually like order and a schedule, to a certain degree. Now that I'm not galavanting all over the place, it's easier to remember some of the things I said I want to get to.
What a concept!
OK...time for bed.
I'll write earlier tomorrow and try posting another photo as well.
Having 2 different locations for daily entry and group challenges is kind of annoying. I know. The program used isn't anyone's fault. Just "how it is". I accept it but don't have to like it, right?
Sleep well, beauties. Tomorrow is another glorious day to be alive, sing songs, walk outside, and give people a wide, smiling, 6' + berth!
air smooches all around!

Whew TGIF! This week has been awkward for me. Feeling couped up and then running or walking too much and then resting too much. STILL trying to find a balance.
Our online schools are working well and I’m not watching news. Keeps me feeling in control on the drama front. We have been watching movies together, making dinners and trying to give each other some space.
Here are my steps and stats so far this week:
CW: 163.0
PW: 163.8
@micki48
3/22: 17,788
3/23: 18,092
3/24: 22,321
3/25: 5,964
3/26: 5,4963 -
For the April challenge ideas:
I’m interested in “keystone habits” in relation to fitness. Would suggest this as a discussion topic.
For example one of my keystone habits is getting out of bed right when I wake up. This one action sets up my day for the better. If I stay in bed then I read social media, am later to get started and come up with reasons to put things off. If I start with positive actions they multiply.
I’m sure other people have these as well.4 -

The struggle continues. The only good part is that I can tell from my boobs that I’m doing a hormonal cycle. Only can hope I lose some water Weight soon.
Weighed myself Tues at 107.4 😳
Today @jugar
Cw: 105.4 Up another 1/2# this week. So that’s 1# up from when the whole corona began.
Obvi. I need to adjust something... probably eating less joy food & eating more veggies. Reducing portions more.
Steps I’m good at. Tracking them maybe giving me a green light for more food tho. So I don’t think I’ll track steps come April.3 -

The 30 minute videos aren't enough for me to get my steps in.... I have to get more steps in other ways... Hmmmm
I went to the grocery store yesterday to pick up a few items... every person I see is so despondent, it's so sad... I understand it's a strange time, but it's making me feel bad about being upbeat and happy... and I don't like that...
I think this Sunday, I will plan a family hike and picnic...2
