Chris this is for you. I am so glad that doctor was wrong. And that you are still here. <3 I can't wait for you to have your surgery and begin your Recovery!

For Kathy and Karen, just keep swimming!

I am sitting in my computer room as I type this. My Christmas cacti are blooming, again. And there is a few more inches of snow on the ground. It sure is pretty though. Big fluffy flakes falling onto my window box.

Karen I think that house cleaning can sometimes count. Like if you drag your rugs outside and hang them on the line. Then take a bat and beat the dust out of them! Now that counts. Muahaha

Chris mine is the muscles. They are screaming at me from a workout. At least I think it is just from working out.

Got the courthouse checked. That gave me some extra steps! :drinker:

    Thanks, Shelley.

We got a new water heater Friday but there was something wrong with the pilot light, and we were without hot water UNTIL this afternoon. The stores that carried the part were not open over the weekend. Crimeny! I was so angry this afternoon with all the back and forth between the water heater place and the parts manufacturer. We finally got it fixed...I think. We'll find out tomorrow if we still have hot water or not. The story is much more involved than what I just wrote, and angry words flew in front of Ronan! Man! I hope it is fixed.

I did nothing but read today.

Weigh in day - 188.2. Yes!!! I’ll have to thank my friend for getting me off the couch Sunday. Also, I’m controlling the night snacking which is really tough for me. :#

144.6 this morning at 5:30. We got the boys. After they are picked up, we will go vote then Pat's going to the grocery store with me. :# it'll be fine...

That's my day today! Seven days until surgery. I stop all vitamins and OTC meds tomorrow morning. Let's see...there's hot flash stoppers and knee joint pills and eye moisture pills and, did I mention hot flash stopper pills??? Crimeny! :/

Chris I hate hot flashes! Why must we have them! And Ronan will recover from those angry words.

Kathy I have not been weighing. I get up and get dressed, then workout. Then change, eat and get to work. I keep forgetting to weigh myself. That is a recipe for disaster for me. :s

Kathy - so glad you've been doing well with the late night snacking. I'm trying to do the same.

Chris - can't believe it's one week away until your surgery. I know everything's going to go really well. I'm glad that hot water heaters fix. We just replaced ours about a month ago. Really not easy to have only cold water lol :-)

Went to a happy hour last night for a friend at work who got laid off. It's been a very tough business cycle for my company. Lots of people leaving lots of stress and not going to get easier in the short-term. This was a tough one. Really good friend of mine in HR who laid off. What I really don't understand is the HR manager who laid her off showed up her happy hour. Sometimes people just don't get it :-)

Heading to the gym after more coffee....only one other WO day this week....crazy week for me.

    Happy Friday!!

Karen that is awful. I hate to see people laid off due to the company having issues. So hard on families. :(

Going to finish touching up my moms bathroom walls tonight. Been putting it off for fun things. :p Also going to walk the dogs tonight. I walked Barney around the neighborhood last night. He sure is a little scaredy cat! More walks now that the streets are melted. I am really nervous about falling.

Karen, I'm with Shelley on the lay off issue. So hard on some folks.

Shelley, I am glad your streets are melted. I went down twice due to black ice. Not good at all. Cracked a front tooth the last time. I'm so careful now. I'll be so happy when we can all start competing for steps again.

I have my surgery time for Tuesday. Should be home by lunch time which should include bowls of ice cream. :D Our trainer didn't think that was funny and gave me the evil eye this afternoon. I think it's a riot!!! Four more days.

Chris so excited for you. This is going to be life changing. Can't wait to hear how you are racking up those steps again. I wonder if I can get ice cream delivered to you. :p

Almost done putting my moms bathroom back together. A friend stopped in and slower down our progress. But we enjoyed it. :)

If you can arrange it, Shelley, my favorite is Tallamook vanilla. Not vanilla bean...straight up vanilla. Then I crush peppermint all over it!! Oh, my!

Have a great Sunday, my friends! Two days to go!

It was a good weekend. Finished a book. Started a new one. Didn't go too overboard on peppermint or pb. Came in at 144.2 this morning at 5:30.

Chris oh my. I love getting ice cream and making it my own. A nice blender and throw in what ever your heart desires, or taste buds. Yes, that is the way to go. I never eat something that is just so so. If it is not super yummy I throw it away. Not wasting perfectly good calories on just so so! :s I could probably manage PB fudge. But doesn't PB make you break out? Allergies to some nuts? I seem to recall something like that.

It was a great weekend. But we went to bed late so I skipped my morning workout. Will try to get in something tonight. I do still have to change 24 gallons of water first. And clean my moms room. Has a layer of dust I am sure.

They set my daughters ankle surgery for this Tuesday. Chris what time is your surgery on Tuesday? What a quinkie dink!.. They are planning on breaking her ankle to encourage scar tissue to grow and cushion the two bones. Right now they grind against each other causing her pain. :'( I hate seeing my little girl in pain.

Barney is getting better in slow bounds. Hope he likes my mom.

    143.4 this morning at 3:00 a.m.

My hip grinds and pops. ugh! I hope your daughter does great, Shelley. That sounds pretty awful! She and I are sisters in pain today. We get to the hospital at 5:45...surgery at 8:00. I'm Doc's first patient. Sure hope he laid off the beer last night. Having my last sips of coffee...must drink CFpreop now then shower then go.

Back as soon as I can. I love you guys!! <3

    Thanks you guys!

Things are looking okay. Thigh still hurts to get up and walk. PT said that was normal. She said I'll be walking again soon. :D

Oh, and you don't get any steps using a walker. Its like a grocery cart...your arm doesn't move...no steps. Pat and I made soup today...Only 480 steps for the entire day...hmmmm?

So glad to get to the weekend. Super intense week planning my contingency plan at work with the coronavirus. My entire global team is working from home which is totally the right thing to do. Will be interesting :-)

I have been off my game this week when it comes to exercise and eating. Trying to be gentle with myself. The underlying stress of this whole virus I think definitely got to me.

All schools in Pennsylvania are now closed for two weeks. So Bella will be home and both Jim and I are working from home. So really want to come up with a good plan to make sure that I get enough exercise, good food, and the rest.

    How are you ladies doing?

I’ve decided to workout at home for the foreseeable future. I’m concerned as I’m sure most of us are about this virus. Especially for us 60+. Too many unknowns, misinformation as well as out and out lies. Also, when I went to the gym Friday I noticed how many folks still don’t wipe the machines down after they use them. I wipe them down before and after to be safe but it appears this virus may be airborne so better safe than sorry. I have my recumbent, weights and videos as well as access to you tube videos on my smart TV. Now time for some discipline.

Also, our spring break cruise has been cancelled and our girls trip in May will probably be as well. After that our next trip isn’t scheduled until August...maybe things will be better.

Everyone please be safe and take care of yourself and your family.

Kathy, I think folks at the gym are rude because the majority do not clean up after themselves.

Karen, get Bella to workout with you these next two weeks. You guys will have so much fun!

I'm working out from home, too! bwahahah! I don't think Pat could get me into the car without step stools. Getting out would be an issue all by itself. Man! these drugs are messing with my brain. I type a word and it does not look right...anyway...not doing anything but sitting today. Still sore as anything...crimeny! Pat is being such a great help. I'll keep him for another day or two. ;)

Chris it is probably more cause you are moving really slowly. I never get steps standing in court and moving just small amounts. Glad you will be walking soon.

I’m trying to get use to our new normal. Atlanta is pretty much under lockdown. My parents are in there 80s so they are definitely staying in any we are all checking on them, taking them groceries when needed, picking up prescriptions etc. I was so used to getting up and going to Planet Fitness almost daily that I got in a little funk. Going to the park today to get in a walk. My make a quick grocery store run while I’m out.

Everyone stay safe and let’s pull out the videos, check out you tube and amazon prime and .keep it moving!

Kathy you are a great daughter. We are making lots of changes also. But court is still crowded! I am working on extra walks also. I am playing video games in the evenings and working on my tanks. They are going to be so clean.

County Commissioner meeting had no one there other than the main players. It was eerie. But glad people are taking it serious.

Will let you know how it goes!

Purple is a great hair color! Our trainer's adult daughter is all bright aqua! I need a haircut so bad!

Shelley, your sweet darling fish are going to be so happy! There are reports of not getting your steps in the grocery store because of pushing the cart. Because your arms are not swinging? your shoulders are not moving?? I'm going to have to test that when I can walk again.

Kathy, you are good to your folks! Sara, Pete and Ronan are doing our shopping today. We only need a couple of things, tho. Some of our stores are opening early for us gray hair folks. That'll give us one or two hours before the younger crowds get there. Interesting...I have to go back and read the article again...too many questions in my brain.

PT appt on the phone today. Doc appt Tuesday is going to be a phone appt, too. So much has changed.

We just did a video talk w/Sara and Ronan. So fun! Miss them like crazy. We did nothing today. The kids shopped for us. Maybe we'll make soup tomorrow. We have everything we need. We did put in an eCurb order at Raley's for Wed p/u. We'll see how that goes. Pat does not want to go inside. ...sigh...

    Hope everyone is doing okay.
