A short video worth watching: CNN anchor Chris Cuomo has the coronavirus. He passes on advice a pulmonologist gave him, such as don't spend a lot of time lying down, even though that's what you want to do (raises the risk of pnuemonia), plus several other things.

    Hello everyone.

What a busy day yesterday! Work was non-stop and I was so glad I planned easy meals for the day. It will be another busy one wrapping up month/quarter end reports.

There are so many things to be grateful for this morning. Here are but a few.
    • I am grateful for another healthy day.
    • I am grateful I work for a company that cares about its employees. Yesterday we received an email regarding staying healthy with an invitation to MoveSpring. It is a group step app. It tracks the steps everyone is making and as mileage accumulates we will be stopping at various areas of the world. There will be drawings for prizes when participants hit different challenges.
    • I am grateful for Smokey the Cat who is my early morning buddy. His antics make me laugh.
    • I am grateful for the early morning quiet. It allows me to be alone with my thoughts.

Hugs to all and prayers for those in need.

@SuziQ113 Could you post a picture of Smokey's antics, or give us an anecdote?

I am grateful that Google is putting out "Thank Yous" as their doodles these days, Past two days were to Public Health workers and scientific researchers.

Today was to all medical workers.

    Smokey is beautiful, @SuziQ113 !

I’m glad you guys got to see my fur kids.

    Things I’m thankful for today:

    🏓 First fever-free day.

🏓 Yesterday’s negative COVID test results.

🏓 The genuine concern from my friends here, and my Facebook family. And the few I have in my tiny social circle.

🏓 The newly installed Ping Pong game on my VR headset. I’d been playing tennis and bowling with my sister the last few days, and the interaction with another person in another city is a blessing.

🏓 Kindle books! I’m on novel number four.

🏓 Husband put together a planter box and I got my herb garden planted today.

There is one oregano, Thai and sweet basil, cilantro and rosemary visible. Implanted sage seeds in the empty area in the back.

    Hello one and all.

It's the start of a new day here in sunny and soon to be very hot South Florida. We are expecting temperatures to be in the mid-90s for the next two days. Then there will be a slight break in the temperature which will be just in time for the weekend. Yeah!

What am I grateful for this morning? Let me count the ways.
    • I am grateful for another day on this sweet planet.
    • I am grateful for the heavenly solid 7.5 hours of sleep I had last night.
    • I am grateful for the overnight email I received from my car insurance provider. The company is automatically giving everyone a 15% discount for those renewing their policy from April 8th through October 7th. I fall within this time period - yeah!!
    • I am grateful I am basically a natural girl and know how and do maintain my own spa treatments. During yesterday's return home from work commute time savings I dyed and shaped my eyebrows, took care of my upper lip, and completed a quick facial.
    • I am grateful for my capacity to see the beauty in things both great and small.

    TMI
Dying one's eyebrows really make your eyes pop. I have found using Just for Men's Beard and Moustach product great for this task. It is semi-permanent, it is designed for multiple uses, and only takes 5 minutes. I have also found it is better to go with a color that is a least one shade lighter than your hair color. I have dark brown hair and use the light brown color which is actually two shades lighter than my hair.

For the upper lip I use Sally Hansen's Express Wax. It can be heated. I find using it cold works fine. It takes some time getting used to the amount to use, but once you get the hang of it, it is very easy. The product really isn't wax it is sugar-based.

Do not get me wrong. I love a spa day and having someone else take care of me. I just cannot justify the cost of bi-weekly/monthly treatments. Many of the office gals spend upwards of $100+ per month getting their nails and toes done. We all have our priorities and needs and I am not judging here because I completely get it.

I must say so long for now. My morning walk is calling me and then it is off to get ready for work. I must allow time for the extremely long walk to my guestroom office - lol!

I noticed "on the way in here today" that the Google Doodle today is saying "Thank you to all emergency services workers" I LIKE this series .... there have been recent Google Doodles for "stay home stay safe" "Thank you to public health workers and scientific researchers" "Thank you to medical workers" Back in March, there was one for Recognizing Ignaz Semmelweis and Handwashing.

When I went to check Ignaz's name, I was that the one thanking sanitation workers is already i the queue.

If you have the time, maybe explore what other people / events have been honored. hmmmmm could be an "edutainment info-hunt game" for stay at home shut-in kids?

It's snaining here (falls as wet snow-lands like rain with no accumulation) Guess my daffodils aren't gonna open today.

What's the weather like where you are?

With the light rain then / heavier snain now, I am probably not the only one who is grateful that this store has a long COVERED kinda-broad-sidewalk (not sure exactly what one would call it) along the whole front of the store.

We did our "grocery run" at 7:00 am today (seniors only hour before "regular opening at 8:00") Since we were last there, they have instituted "can't just walk in - regulated few in / few out flow" and there are now arrows on the floor to prompt only going down the isle in one direction (therefore not passing in opposite directions) and audio reminders to keep back from other shoppers.

@BMcC9, what's considered "senior" in the grocery store? I thought we were around the same age, and I am not a senior (at least I don't think I am!) That's a good idea to have arrows making the aisles "one way". Right now in Tillsonburg it is sunny, very windy and around 7 degrees C, but it feels colder. Tonight it gets down to zero, and then we'll get that snow-rain you are experiencing.

Some stores, like the local drug store, have always said "Seniors 55 +" ; other say 60; others say 65.

The "restricted hour" at this store is actually a combo of "reserved for at-higher-risk segment of the population", so actually a combo of Seniors / immun-deficient / mobility impaired so that they have first chance at restocked shelves before more agile people go through. I am 62, HD is 64 (looks older) AND I have controlled chronic lung issues.

As far as I know all grocery chains across the city, if not province AND country, have been doing this "pre-general-opening hour" for several weeks now.

We would only go in when there are lesser numbers in the store even before this new "regulated entry" system - so either at this early time or more often within a half-hour of closing time.

(first time in well over a MONTH there was actually TP on the shelf!! usually (apparently) all gone within an hour of it going up ~11:00 or 2:00 ... but no paper towels and few bulk paper napkins in sight today)

    Hello one and all.

Another early wake up this morning. 2:30 am! TG, I have the day off because I will be able to take a nice long nap.

Many things to be grateful for this morning.
    • I am grateful to have another healthy day on this planet we call earth.
    • I am grateful to see my bank account received my payroll funds. I am so incredibly lucky to be working for a company that will continue to employ me for the foreseeable future.
    • I am grateful for the quiet of the neighborhood and the slight breeze. When I am in my courtyard the breeze rustles the palm fronds and if I close my eyes I can imagine being on the beach.
    • I am grateful I live in SFL where the weather is near perfect year round and there is seldom a time when I do not get to see the sun shine every day.
    • I am grateful I am able bodied and can take care of myself and my home on my own.
    • I am grateful for my online friends and the technology that allows us to keep in touch and support each other.

The day is very young and I discovered there is a store opening at 6 am this morning. Maybe, just maybe I will luck out and find some TP - LOL......one can always hope!

    Take care friends.

Yes, Smokey the Cat (Brat) is a constant supervisor. Well, that is, when he is not sleeping, sunning, or grooming. It's hard to believe he is 11 years old! Although he does sleep more than he did during his younger years he still has a playful side. And, as you can tell I am his human. Oh, if there is reincarnation my wish is to come back as a spoiled house cat.

Thank you - Smokey picked me out of quite a few who were attempting to catch him. He was a feral who hung out at a former workplace. The company had a cafe and he would hang out for droppings. It took awhile for him to decide who he wanted to live with and I am still so happy he picked me as his forever mom.

I love your puppies. They look incredibly happy and loved. Do the humans every get to sit on the couch? LOL!

@SuziQ113 LOL! Yes, but if we aren't on the couch, they will be. If we are on the couch, they kind of lay all over each other.

I think it's great that he picked you out! Ferals are kind of a challenge, for sure.

Also, I also say that if I come back, I want to come back as one of my dogs, LOL...
