1. Move for 30 minutes every single day – go for a run, yoga, etc.
2. Log all calories, and stay at or under goal most days
3. Wake up at 7:30 on weekdays and log my progress for the day before
4. Complete ab workout challenge.
4/15 – I met absolutely none of my goals – this day was my inspiration to start logging daily. I am hoping it will keep me accountable.
4/16 – I met all of my goals this day! Waking up is going to be the hardest part.
4/17 – 137.4
4/19 – I was pretty good all weekend. I logged all calories, and did the ab challenge.
4/20 – 137.2 I met all of my goals this day. Ran 1 mile.
4/21 – I did not get up on time this morning, and I also did not work out for 30 minutes. Dealing with emotional stresses. I did do my ab challenge.
4/22 – I am drained emotionally and physically. I didn’t make my 7:30 wake-up time, but I am okay with missing that today because I needed that extra sleep.

Hello! I’m so glad to find your group. I’ve been working from home 6 weeks and somehow managed to gain 7 lbs 😬.. now I got laid off and am feeling very worried and low. I need to gain control in something so my exercise, calories and weight will be my focus.
I’ve started the high protein plan at 1200 calories.

I was only able to do about 5.5 of the 9 miles I had planned to do yesterday and I'm still pretty bummed about it. I think I need to lighten up on the weight training during the week (specifically leg day) and stop snacking so much. There's no way junk food is beneficial for long distance runs 😅

I do !!! Diving and eating out are the two things I miss the most. Sitting down in a cozy garden, sipping a cocktail while musing what to eat next and discussing our day at work, I really miss this <sigh>.
But every time I get sad about missing things, I remember what someone said on this forum in the beginning of the Covid crisis: "our grandparents were asked to go fight in the trenches to save the world, we are asked to sit in the sofa - we can do this" This really resonated with me as my grandfather and both my parents still had vivid memories of scary experiences during the second WW, and they told me what they had to do to survive.
So yes, we can do this !3 -

I miss date nights with my bf too! It's harder to keep the romance alive when we are around each other 24/7. I can't wait until we can go to our favorite restaurants again! ...but like you pointed out, it could be so much worse, and I am honestly just happy we are healthy!2 -

Hello everyone,
Sorry that I dropped out for so long and missed almost an entire month of tracking here. I kept snooping around briefly but not too much. No idea why I got into this rut, while all you managed to keep it together somehow and continued STRONG! Serious kudos to you for this. It’s no small feat.
As for me, nothing too dramatic happened actually, except that by being thrown off the usual rhythm and the usual habits and routines, a lot of other things were dislodged. Like an avalanche that just swept away the rug of motivation under my feet. Reading “The Power of Habit” last week made me realize what was likely going on in my head. Interesting little book. And it put a few things into perspective for me. It will not be easy to establish new/better habits but what is easy in life, right? One of the corner things that helped me loose shed some weight end of last year was being active here, read the articles, share and connect with others, and have my little competitive mind be kicked into action by seeing others achieve great things. 😊
So the bad of the last 2 months was that I slowly slipped into a high-sugar diet. I don’t wanna know how much chocolate and cookies I killed, but it was a lot! Plus, less physical activity. Working from home means no cycling to/from work. No sports school meant a dip of actually going for runs or do any training for strength or flexibility. Nor going there by bike. My weight has been creeping upwards and my motivation to be active has gone downwards.
The good of the last 2 months was that I still kept the walks during lunch break and after work. Some random runs were involved as well but they were a far cry from what is possible with regular training. Also the pole dance school made the facilities available for up to 2 students per training session, no teacher present though. It forces me to prepare my own training (thanks youtube for guided warming up and cooling downs!), but it actually works. I get out of the house, and once there it’s just: Music on and go for it!
Good starting points. So I’ll be aiming for more regular sporting, running and pole (no excuses, I KNOW I’ll feel better after). And I won’t get as much sweet stuff into the house anymore. Fruits yes. Tea yes. Chocolate and cookies, no. The last point will be a challenge and I may not always succeed. But I will make improvements.
Because I don’t want to be this lazy tired potato anymore. And I want to be there as well for the people that are here for me too, even though we may not meet in real life, but it’s a good place to be.
