I was down almost 6 lbs last week so with normal body fluctuations I'll take it

Your right that it is just the body fluctuations. You are doing so well!

    Hi folks,
My name is Josh. I live in central PA, USA. My long term goals are to get down to a target weight around where I was when I graduated college (230 or so). Right now I’m a little below my highest weight (in 2018 I hit 340) at current weight of 317. I joined a gym in 2018 and was on a bit of a roll swimming and stationary bike. Now I’m stuck at home floundering. I got down to 300 but I’m back up. Other than the health reasons for joining MFP I also have a family and want to be able to run around and do sports with them, I want to do a triathlon some day. I’m also a Christian and my faith means a lot to me. I can’t help but think of the scripture that says “physical training is of some value...” and even thought the point is that spiritual training is more valuable it certainly also means that being in shape is meaningful too. So that’s me :) I’m looking forward to the camaraderie of sharing a goal and working with you all (I hear our team are the reigning champions?), let’s go downsizers!

    Hello,
My name is Rochelle and I live between Canada and the US, I am currently in the US in Michigan. I started my journey in 2014 at 276lbs and lost 70 pounds in the first year but I have never managed to stick to it long enough to reach my goal so it slowly creeps back up. My life has been a roller coaster this past year but I think I am finally in a place to make this happen. I am at my highest weight I have been since I lost the first bit.
    May 1 start weight: 245
    Steps May 1: 12484
    May 2: 8438

Is there anyway I can make my weigh in day Friday as that is the day I have picked to weigh myself each week?

I will make your weighin day Friday.

    MAY STEP CHALLENGE

Hello Downsizers!! Our May Step Challenge will be starting this coming Sunday May 3rd through Saturday May 30th!

Our goal is to keep ourselves moving during this quarantine. We have no excuses!! We can find so many different walking/workout videos on YouTube. Many of us can still get ourselves outdoors for walks or runs and others have backyards they can use to get those steps in. Or simply move that coffee table out the way and walk in place while watching your favorite movie or TV show.

Our challenge this month is to get our 10,000 steps in daily OR make it our goal to reach by the end of the month! Those of us who are already at 10,000 steps daily let’s set ourselves bigger goals. Let’s see if we can beat our TOTAL last month as a team! Every step counts!!

    07ajwp2wvd2r.jpeg

    hacp7mvhx660.png

To join the step challenge, just post your daily step pledge here. Then post your steps DAILY so I can keep a tally. Let’s go steppers!!

Count me in! I’m shooting for 10k every day or at least 70k for the week.

    Hello Team!

I’m new to this group, I’ve heard wonderful things =)

To introduce myself, I’m Piqueaboo, I live in Paris and in 2016 I hit 250lbs and decided to take action and dropped 80lbs within one year, I was 20lbs within my goal weight and then “took a break” for whatever reason? Over the next three years I re-gained some of it, but now I’m trying to tackle the remaining 50lbs I want to lose.

I’m rarely at home (I travel across Europe for work 3/5 days per week) and socialise a lot, so my main challenges are to prioritise working out, making good food choices (I eat out 3-5 times a week when not traveling, 100% when on the road) and not drink too much alcohol - so basically the main staples I had in place last time I tackled my weight loss! It’s self-discipline that I need to work on most, I think.

Really looking forward to this new adventure!

Welcome to our team!! So pleased you decided to join us! I am also in France! Very cool. If you are ever in my area we should get together for coffee or lunch or a workout 🥰. Obviously not any time soon as we are in confinement but some day right 😅. Hope our team can help you reach those goals! ❤️💪🏻

Mari, are y’all still in lockdown over there? I was hoping the restrictions had eased by now.

Still the same here. They plan to start deconfinement as of May 10th. It will be gradual however so only certain businesses will open up again. We will have to continue to be careful but will no longer need a form to leave our homes. School in less affected areas will open again for parents who have to work but it will not be mandatory to send kids back. I plan on keeping mine home. Gyms will continue to stay closed as wel as anything that will require large gathering of people. We will just be able to move around a bit more freely.

    Check-In: Sunday, May 3rd

    •Log all food: Done ✔️
    •Calories: Under ✔️
    •Exercise: 5k run ✔️
    •Water: 2L ✔️
    •Steps: 11,800 ✔️

The scales are up a bit after the weekend so my focus for the start of this new week is to get back down to my previous weigh in. Today I am doing OMAD and then I’m back on my regular IF schedule tomorrow. This morning I went out for a very slow walk with the little guy and this afternoon I will be working out in the back yard.

    May goals:

•Log all food. The good the bad and the ugly!
•Stay on or under my allowed calorie goal.
    •Do a 30 minute workout each day.
•Drink at least 2L water each day.
•Reach at least 10,000 steps each day.

    Saturday check in
    Calories: over
    Exercise: 69 minute walk
    Water: not enough

    Steps 5/2 13,679

Yesterday, I walked 4.59 km, short of my 5km goal. I can’t believe how sore I am from doing the hill on Friday. I am setting 5km for my goal again today.

    Today’s goals
    1. Walk 5km
    2. Drink 9 cups of water
    3. No binge eating

5km is a great goal! The more you do it the easier it will become.

I totally agree with you. Considering your huge loss last week, maintaining this week is a victory!
