Our SIL is a personal trainer and he has agreed to work with me until I can go back to my PT. He also trains high school kids for rugby which he has played forever. A game, by the way, that I can't watch, cried when our son Nick played, cheered when he quit playing, and I keep saying Ronan should play soccer. Rugby is the most brutal game ever...anyway...SIL trains his clients really hard. DDD trained with him for a little while, but it wasn't her style. He knows my limitations and that I'm a old gray hair...we'll see. I have to do something but can't seem to get off my fanny to do it by myself. We'll make plans today.
Chris2 -
Glad you are all still keeping active. It is so hot here also.
Chris so glad you have a solution for training
I have been busy. But still doing some exercise most days
Shelley0 -
Worked out with SIL this morning. I might just be sore tomorrow. We'll see. I was a good workout tho. He does things different than my trainer, but he did a great job on me.
We are going to start back walking tomorrow. Not far. Ankle feels great. Just don't want to do that again...whatever I did...which I don't even know how I did it. Man! But I am so happy we are getting back out there. I am up 15 pounds from not doing anything for four months. Must get back to it.
Chris1 -
Chris it sounds like you had a great day all around. I am up a few pounds from not being as active as I normally am this last week also. Driving for 2 days and sitting around visiting for another 2 days where they keep trying to feed you is not good for the waist line!
Shelley0 -
35 min walk...before it got hot!1
-
We walked around our park this morning. Got .70 miles done! Man! it was hard! No...no...no...just kidding. It was hot but not hard. May go this evening when it cools off some.
I am a bit sore from yesterday's workout but it's a good sore! I won't tell SIL that, tho...bwahahaha!
Chris1 -
Chris if you don't tell him he might up the intensity. Maybe you should have DH fun what hurts! Bwahaha! I am happy you are at it again.
Nice walk Karen! It is way not here also.
Got in over 13,000 steps today.
Shelley0 -
I did tell him...sort of...said I wasn't going to tell him my thighs were crying or that I almost couldn't stir my jar of peanut butter and that was terrible because I was out. He laughed... Worked out with him today anyway. He downed my reps some. I'll be fine. Sara might workout with me on Friday. I hope so. She makes it fun.
We are going to walk a bit later this evening when it cools off some.
Chris0 -
Chris that is awesome! Because doing some when sore helps get you over it sooner. But not because you need peanut butter! Nopey nope nope. Any idea when schools will go back into session there?
Well my stupid Fitbit is not syncing! It does this sometimes but it is so frustrating! I was wanting to order a new band for it off of Amazon but now I am wondering if I even should. Grrrr
Shelley0 -
Sara's school district is starting back the first of September all remote except for things that have to be done on campus for high school...labs and such. She is still working remotely with teachers and in remote trainings. She did get to switch to a new school and ditch the unreasonable (the nicest word I could come up with for that one) Principal that Sara has had for the last year. She's really happy about the move. Her district has lost a lot of folks due to budget cuts. I hope California gets $$ for schools soon.
My workout was good yesterday. I'm melty today. Need to make some swamp water this morning so I can get all my ounces in then I'm gonna read! Surprise!!
Shelley, is your Fitbit not syncing to your phone or your computer? Sometimes mine doesn't sync to my computer but if I open the app on my phone everything syncs up okay.
Chris1 -
My fitback gets wonky sometimes....sometimes they need a nudge!
Just got off my last phone call today....straight through since 7am! Whew!
My husband and I did just 30 min HIIT workouts the basement. My thighs are going to hurt tomorrow from all of those wall squats!
Too hot to do anything outside!1 -

50 min walk outside before the heat comes...0

I walk around my house a little early. To hot later. Tonight I am going up on the mountain for a bit. It will be cooler up there anyways.
Kathy get back on it. You had it nailed! I so understand the busy with the home projects though. The flooring looked great though. Keep going it will all be done soon. I have a lot to do next year.
Karen it has been in the 90's for almost the entire month. I am over it. I want it to cool off for a bit. Chris and I used to do wall squats all the time. So need to do them again. Thanks for reminding me.
Chris it is my husbands phone. I just don't use it enough to know how to reboot it or whatever. But he finally rescued me before I caused his phone to self destruct. I should put it on our computer also. Thanks, had not even thought of that.
Shelley0 -
Shelley, you sound just like me on my phone or my computer. Pat rescues me all the time. Sara and Pete have rescued me, too!! I was looking at the Weight Watchers app earlier but just looking at what I'd need to do to rejoin was way beyond me. I might do walk-in meetings again, but they aren't having them right now.
I worked out w/Pete yesterday for 60 mins. My thighs are crying today. It was a good workout.
Pat and I got up early...7:30...out the door at 8:30...and got 2.13 miles in 43 mins done. Glad we did it early. Too hot...91 degrees...right now. We might go out again this evening when it cools off...maybe.
Chris1 -
50 minute walk - 2.3 miles
Kathy1 -
2.1 miles in 47 mins this morning before it got hot again.
Chris1 -
It is way to hot to do anything! Argh! Just me venting. Hi ladies.
Chris my mom is having issues with the weight watchers app also.
Shelley1 -
I can't stand the heat either gals!
Back to back meetings today except for 45 mins here at lunch. Had my husband put me through a full body weigth/cardio routine. This is going to hurt tomorrow! But no excuses!
Karen0 -
Worked out w/Pete this morning for 60 mins. Day Off walking.
