    @boehle those are adorable!

@hipari well done for pushing through your discomfort and trying something new. Looking forward to hearing about all your progress!

On the subject of TOM and cyclical things up until recently I've been one of those amazingly fortunate people who had periods so regular you could almost set a clock by them. Light, regular, no pms - for decades... and then I hit peri-menopause (on the early side of normal, I'm 46) and everything went to pieces! I am not loving this new normal.

    On the flip side:

I’m 42 and was irregular my entire life and was on mirena birth control for a few years (no periods at all). I hated it though and had it out. Since having it removed, super regular periods that are light and over in 3 days. I could get used to this!

@hipari -- your story makes me want to go do something WAY outside of my comfort zone. I have said several times in the past week "life begins at the end of your comfort zone." Not sure who said it, but it's true.

    Good Morning.
I think I am doing pretty good with my food thing week.
I get 2 new fur(ish) babies to foster tonight. I am excited!!

I don’t do well with foster babies. They get adopted (by me!). I had 9 dogs at one point. We lost several to cancer and then adopted another “trouble” child, so now we are at 7.

2 of my fur kids are pit bull foster failures. They knew they were living with me before I knew it though lol.

Between my daughter, my son and myself, we have foster-failed with six pit bulls! You are absolutely right! They do pick us, not the other way around. I didn't stand a chance! Thank you both for fostering! One of my greatest journeys in this life has been trying to help as many fur babies as possible!

A new colleague suggested going to an all-you-can-eat sushi buffet for lunch. I had no other suggestions, so ended up going. I'm pretty proud of myself: first I went to the dessert section and loaded half of my plate with fresh fruit, and then filled the rest with sushi. I ate a piece of fruit between each piece of sushi, and guess what? I didn't go back for seconds or desserts! Might be my first time ever not going for sushi seconds at a buffet.

So yeah, it was still a heavy lunch, but at least it was lighter than usual.

    Amazing great job!!!!

I'm surprised, I would have thought I'd have worse DOMS today. Maybe it will kick in later... My weight is still way up, but at least my scale thinks my body fat percentage is coming down (0.4% since beginning of last week). Still hoping for that whooosh.

@boehle - I wondered what you meant when you said "furish" babies. Wow - how in the world did you end up fostering possuums?

@hipari - you hold your head high, march in there like you own the place, smile, and leave them thinking "I want to be like HER" - which is exactly what I'm thinking right now!

It's been a good week so far - I stepped on the scale yesterday morning just to check and was already at my week's goal so hopefully I can keep it there for 2 more days. One of my habit-trackers is no chips at work and I have actually not snacked at all at work - so right there I'm probably saving on average 1,000 calories per day. Once I start with that stuff - there's just no stopping.

Aerial acrobatics: I went in, I was a ball of nerves, and I definitely went into a dark place with my insecurities. It appears most of the other participants had some previous experience, all were normal weight, and most came with a friend. So, naturally my dark mind thought I’m the lonely fat bald girl who can’t do anything in a room full of skinny pretty *kitten* who giggle with their friends and can do everything without any struggle. Of course I also decided in my head they must think I’m a sad little freak.

I fought back and didn’t give in to my insecurities! I tried to consciously make an effort to chat with the other girls (they seemed nice enough), did my best with all the acrobatics stuff, and tried to think positive: out of everyone there, I’m likely to learn and improve the most! I managed to get on every piece of equipment, even though my ”get on” was in some cases less than an inch up from the mattress while the other girls climbed to the top of the rope and so on.

It also gave me a whole new layer of motivation! Since a lot of the sport is about lifting yourself up with your hands and arms, just as I suspected, having less weight to lift up would probably help a lot. I also need more grip strength in my hands, so I’m going to buy a grip handle thing for work so I can use it on my desk. Gym just got a new meaning too, since there’s something concrete to actually use that hard-gained strength in. My work doesn’t really require any muscle, so going to the gym and keeping up my strength has been more about abstract health and improving in those gym workouts, but there hasn’t really been anywhere to use that strength.

Way to push past the mental struggle and put yourself out there!! You should feel proud!!! You will do more Everytime you go!! Way to test your mind body and motivation!! TRIFECTA!!

@biketheworld and @Be_theBest_Me thanks, it means a lot!

Also @biketheworld awesome job with you goal and no chips habit!

Today's plan: workout clothes shopping (the store is having a flash sale today and I need t-shirts with sleeves to the acrobatics class since tank tops are banned for hygiene reasons), and either a walk and a streching/foamrolling session, or possibly both.

Whoa, this went better than expected! I finally stopped procrastinating and texted my personal trainer about scheduling our first post-lockdown appointment. He had a suitable slot open tomorrow, so I get to see him for the first time in a while and get a killer leg workout in! I’m excited, it’s fun to train with him and we’re kinda friends too (I’ve trained with him for almost 5 years and we’re almost the same age).

Irony... For weeks half the members could not access the thread and I was just fine. Now I cannot access from the app 😡

This has been going on for over a week. It’s getting a bit annoying. But there are work arounds... right?

Definitely kicked in later. I can’t straighten my arms all the way to straight without feeling extreme stretching. Putting on a bra was a major struggle.

Also, still no whoosh. If it doesn’t happen this week / early next week after Flo leaves town and I have a few days of good deficit and lower-sodium diet, I’ll just have to accept that I somehow gained 2lbs back. There’s only one course of action, no matter what the reason for this weight is: consistent deficit and improvement.

I’m excited to meet with my trainer today! I’ll be a pile of pulp after this workout since we’re doing legs and my arms are already pulp, but it’s a good thing.

@Beka3695 where could I even access the thread from the app? I’ve never been able to use community from the app, I think it’s a localization thing and not available in Europe or something. There are some other features like the challenges that I don’t think are available here. The notifications in app haven’t been working since Christmas or something either, and it makes me a bad friend.

My notifications only worked for about 3 months in 2019. I had a friend argue with me about them - I didn’t even have the bell. I had to send him screen shots showing. Now they just don’t work again.

I’m in the SE USA, my friend was in the NE USA and we were both on I phones. He had Verizon and I had AT&T. That was the only difference we found.

I’m talking about the home screen notifications. The ones in the communities works for me.

From my iPad I can't access "community" - but I can enter my food, weight etc. Which is why I sometimes disappear for a few days as I don't always sit down by the desktop. I don't even bother with my phone.

6:07 AM and I need to get dressed. Riding my bike to work this morning. 23 miles, it'll take me about 1:45. It's only 55 degrees this morning hallelujah this is gonna be great!

I am absolutely thrilled with the one pound loss. I had a rough week just being out of my routine.
