I am dropping off the radar tomorrow and headed to Mt Bachelor for the weekend. My son has talked me into Mountain Biking. Well lets see if I can come up with creative ways to fall off a mountain

Thanks Dave. I would still rather ride those 100 miles again than be here at work tonight. It's not a good night for clients or pets.2

CONGRATS on making GOAL to @JANET and @JOEMO!!
@DEAN - Sorry you're having a rough night at work. I can't even imagine how difficult that must be sometimes. But I do know that people do appreciate you even though they might not show it in the best of ways.
@ANACOND469 - Have fun and be careful!!!
I don't know how, but it's FRIDAY already!!! Have a great weekend, everyone!!

@Dave - It’s not that people are rude or angry. We’re an emergency clinic. I get that they are stressed. It cases like last night when a lady brings her dog in that has renal failure and diabetes and is having seizures that you can’t stop so you have to euthanize. AND, this is the same lady that you just put down her other dog a month ago for a stroke. AND, while you were putting that dog down you find out her husband is in the hospital with a massive stroke and isn’t expected to make it. And he didn’t. Those rip your heart out.
Last night we seemed to have a few of those. 😢5 -

@Dean: I am so sorry that you could not help your clients dog. My vet felt the same way. Losing Finny, my dad (who they called the donut man because he was always dropping off donuts at appointments or making me drop them off for him) and then losing my Therapy Dog was a tough blow. My vet actually cried and she hugged me, Covid and all. Life just sucks sometimes. I sure hope my dad is taking good care of my buds until I get there one day. Ultimately, we animal lovers know how short and fragile our fur babies lives are and we know that we can’t keep them forever. Sometimes we just hope for that little miracle so we can hang on to them and our human loved ones longer. You are a wonderful vet and truthfully I see more compassion in you then some human doctors. (Like the ER doctor who bluntly told my dad he was dying and make preparations. It was cold and cruel and he walked out without. I had hoped my dad did not hear what he said. When my dad was finally in a room for the night, he asked me how I liked the way the doctor told him he was dying.)

@clepant , that's horrible!!!
Speaking of pets. I said I was trapping the wild mama cat & her 4 kittens to be fixed today at a spay & neuter clinic. It was full & I was on standby so I never got them in. Which was fine cuz I only got 3 kittens trapped! The kittens are cute but one was pretty feisty! There is to be another clinic in October so I'm going to work on my trapping technique! LOL I did walk 2 miles from walking back and forth checking traps & checking on the 7 yr old grandson who was fishing at our dam.
After a HOT & WINDY day the 7 yr old grandson & I got in 4 miles on bike before it got dark out.

Ooh it's golden week again. I get to see the spreadsheet turn gold as everyone makes goal. Congrats going out to @Leanz, @Lovemyalex, @sufferlandrian, @cpanus and @GrandmaJackie! Nice work people.
@sufferlandrian - if a case like that didn't get to you, you'd have to have a heart of stone. Glad your heart is made of the normal stuff and thanks for all you do.
@cpanus - glad the smoke is better. Stay safe.

We had a major temp drop today (60's) & it was also very windy. I took Georgie & our sons girlfriends dog for a 3 mile walk. Had to wear a my hood up on my jacket cuz the wind was cold. I grumbled to myself that the white four letter word will be here before I know it!!! After that I did NOT do much of ANYTHING! Read a book..
