Yesterday, @Katiecan2021 posted her dismay about getting off track, but then, she took control and wrote,
"... tonight I have rectified one dropped habit and prepared my delicious overnight oats for my breakfast tomorrow morning. I have scheduled in 15 minutes meditation time to my work diary tomorrow morning. I have planned a walk with a friend tomorrow evening who always makes me laugh. I'm going to put time aside tomorrow to make sure I know exactly what is on my to do list both in work and at home. I think this way I can get back to where I was and feel better again and by doing this, my healthy eating habits will feel natural again.
I already feel better for writing this down and sharing"
That is inspiring to us all! Thanks Katie!

Felt like letting loose and hving a full blown binge as it was a very stressful day i even started picking at bubs snacks and an easter egg etc. But instead of letting it get too out of control i came here and read the above inspirational post which automatically inspired me and snapped me out of it so thank u guys! In the past there wld be no way i cld stop myself once i started so uac is def working and that stress eating of a night time has hopefully been replaced by coming on here interacting with my Uac team!
Great strategies and well done @Katiecan2021 on getting back on track! Just amazing!! Xox

I’m home now, so can get back to some normal routines, the bike rides are a real boost to my mental health. I try to pay attention to the blossom and the birds chattering while I'm outside. Spring is underway and the days are getting brighter and longer.

This pandemic and the related restrictions are making life so difficult, hang on there and I hope you can see your son this summer.

Thanks, @RangerRickL I really needed this post! April will be a hard month, just like March. I don't want to get astray from my healthier lifestyle, but today is my third pass day, and I can see more of them in the near future. I'm facing so much pressure and stress, have so many things to do! I'm almost forced to give up dieting and exercising.
I truly hope I don't give up just yet! right now I'm thinking of changing my daily planning when I eat and exercise, maybe this will help me find the time. I will also stop cooking and eat with the family, it will be harder to measure the calories, but I'll always choose the highest possibility. I'm only going to eat one meal, the rest is sort of snaking ( yogurt, coffee...etc) so it will be okay I guess. I will be happy as long as I lose some this month and gain nothing!
goodnight to you all, hope you have a better April than me.9 -
Hi All,
I was very disappointed with my Wi today - I have been the same weight, to the tenth of a pound, for a month! I have been on track, exercising doing everything right.
I started intermittent fasting today - I will do 600 calories two days a week (will drop to 500) when I get used to it. Ive done this before and it has worked. At least it may break this darn plateau!

Start weight, April 1, 2021: 124.6April 1, 2021 – 124.6 (+1.4)Thoughts and Goals for April:

October 2, 2020 – 147.8 (-5.2)
September 14, 2020 – 153.0April has arrived and I am sitting here reflecting back on this month. It is the first month since September that I have closed the month with an “up”. That said, an up had to come at some point since at some point one is no longer trying/needing to lose weight, and I had passed my original goal back in January, I believe. The up on its own would be fine, but the habits, or lack thereof, that crept into my March are the concern. So, for the month of April, I will be focusing on returning to preplanning/pre-tracking as much as is possible and to not just thrown in the day it does not go as planned. I know that I know how to re-group and I need to make sure I find the time and energy for that. I want to up my cardio. Yes, I am “group walking” every day which burns calories, but honestly, I could walk at that pace for hours and hours without effort. I need to push myself, here and there, again. I will also be trying to maintain the social aspect of the group walks as well, so juggling all those time commitments will take a little focus. Lastly, I need to return to adding back exercises. I have not planked in a month, and rarely done exercises other than walking, running, or biking. So I need to figure out how to include bodyweight or dumbbell workouts. Here’s to April.April History

*** Sitting here as I write this, I have to wonder if posting my thoughts here this morning helped me to frame and get through the day. This morning, I did actually expect today to be a pass day, despite the slight optimism I expressed in my post. Ten minutes later, I decided to track a tentative day – carrot cake, stuffed shells and all. When I got done, I saw that even with every food included I could meet my calorie goals for the day. Portion control was the key. The plan was 90% accurate and the other 10% was adjusted on the fly. When I added something, I took something else away (sorry salad :P ). I enjoyed Easter with no pass today. The success feels good!

*** Had an interesting moment today that I hope will help me to remember the benefit of what was accomplished these 6 months. Today, I got home from a short grocery shopping including two bottles of wine to bring to friends on Sunday. I hate using the elevator at the building so I take the two flights to our condo. I carried all the groceries at once, from the car, through the parking and up the two flights. Not hard, but I could feel the difference. As an experiment, I walked directly to the scale when I got in our unit to see how high a combined weight I now was. I was still almost 9 lbs less that what I weighed in September, and almost 24 lbs less than my high in 2001. Hopefully experiments like this will help me keep focus, and keep my maintenance going. Yo-yo-ing has been my tendency.

I made it through day one of house guests on plan! Yippee! The calories from the 5 mile run helped, but I also prelogged everything and stuck to what I logged. I did the same thing for tomorrow - when I plan on making a batch of those jalapeño and cheddar scones - so sticking to the one I logged ahead of time will be the trick!

That book I talked about last week THE OBESITY CODE talked about this very thing. The author, Dr. Jason Fung, said that "Losing weight is 95% WHAT we eat and approx 5% exercise... and while we need to exercise for various reasons, weight loss is not one of them." Like @Winner_in_Life said earlier on this very thread: "Working out is great for improving fitness, but weight loss happens in the kitchen” I'll finish listening to this podcast tonight, but I wanted to stop and say that I've definitely been over-doing it when it comes to exercise.

Taking a pass day today--I didn't track calories carefully (probably okay, but I can't be sure) and I was too exhausted from the week to think about a dedicated workout. I ran a lot of errands that involved a lot of walking--but, again, I can't be sure.
@lacatgirl those plateaus are the WORST! So disheartening. I've never found a way to break through other than waiting them out.

Yes, yes, and yes.
Exercise was just a couple of hours of yard work, but it felt good. The Dr today told me it would be ok, so I did it. Dr also told me that the hernias were worse and took longer and more work than expected. He said he was not surprised my recovery has been slow, but I am recovering. Too many pass days to make the WC this month, but my consolation is that I have been eating well, logging and doing what exercise I can. Not a bad month so far!7 -

@thabit11
If it is too difficult & you feel like giving up... & you are feeling a lot of “stress & pressure, please consider increasing your daily calorie goal to a total that will let you maintain your current weight.
Then, as things become less stressful, you can then choose a new goal.
Hugs,
