@Just_Kisha
If you're talking about how we link to people's names, you just type "@" and then their username. (e.g. Tagging me is @minstrelofsarcasm)
If you're talking about quoting entire posts and responding that way, click on "Quote" at the bottom of their posts. That will copy their post into the text box at the bottom of the page, inside of code blocks. You can write your response either before the first code block, or after the last code block. If you write anywhere inside of the code blocks, it will appear in the quoted text, just like the smiley face I added above.

Good morning!
@minstrelofsarcasm Thanks for your post - wow - what a long journey you have been on. I've never read that about soy sauce....but it sounds like quite an experience! I appreciate your open-heartedness and honesty in your post - and I think you are setting the stage for a wonderful month.
@Just_kisha Congratulations on your weight loss. You are inspiring me to exercise. OK - I will do it! Keep up the great work.
This is my first time doing a challenge on MFP. As I mentioned earlier, I am 60 years young. My husband and I have four daughters, all adopted, now young adults. The last 15 years of parenting have been challenging, as two of them had adoption-related emotional issues. However, I am so happy to report that three of our daughters are truly amazing young women. The fourth daughter still requires a good deal of emotional, financial and medical support from us - and it's been hard on us - especially on me as a mom. (The technical dx is RAD, which is something that is not really well known outside of adoption circles. Subset of PTSD). Anyway I'm taking this opportunity to heal my overweight body through healthy food and exercise (and I really mean it this time). I'm also in very good therapy to help with my own PTSD, and it's working. I'm upping my prayer life as well, which is always helpful in so many ways.
So, life is looking up. Vaccines are in our present and future. (I am an elementary teacher, so luckily I've being vaccinated). Spring is on its way. And hopefully, my pants will fit a wee bit better by the end of this month - what size do you ask? Well, I have them in ALL sizes. Right now I'm size 16 - dreaming of fitting into 12's again.
I send warm regards to our entire team.

Hi all,
Shiny new thread
So, I'm Shelli, I live in Edinburgh, Scotland with my best friend/flatmate and my kitties. I've struggled with my weight most of my life, have yo-yo-ed up and down and tried pretty much every fad diet out there. I'm the poster child for unhealthy living - have a junk food addiction and hate exercise lol! I hit my highest weight of around 210lbs at the end of 2019 and joined MFP in Feb 2020. I got down to the mid-170s last summer but have crept back up again and now in the 180s so really wanting to start going back in the right direction.
I've been pretty good this week. Calories have been mostly on track, exercise could def be better. Went for a decent walk yesterday but the weather here has been tempermental so some days I've just stayed in. I do zoom zumba a couple of times a week and my instructor has just started doing outdoor lessons in line with new lockdown easings, so am going to try and go along to one - they had the first ones on Sunday and apparently it was fun but they were nearly blown away with the winds
Hope everyone has a good start to the week x3 -

@pizzafruit--I read your post and can relate. Have you ever read The Beck Diet Solution? I just started it, so I can't speak to it's long-term effectiveness, but it's not a diet--it's about using cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to change how you think about eating (and yourself). I'm only two weeks in (the book outlines a 6 week program), but it has really resonated with me. Maybe others in the group have experience with it. So far, for me, it's been a really different approach. As someone who has been on an off diets for over 35 years, I'm cautiously optimistic. I got the book used on Amazon.1

I had a great week this past week. For whatever reason, I was on it for food and exercise. I'm doing the Beachbody MBFA workouts and am loving them. I'm also working on getting back to regular running. I have signed up for my first half marathon this October (it was originally scheduled for April 2020, but got pushed back twice) and need to be way more mindful about getting in the mileage. Also this week, the food just seemed easy for some reason. I think I've got my protein consumption up enough that I'm "full" and don't go looking for snacks all the time! I was hoping for a bigger loss, but I'm going to just keep plugging away at it! Happy Monday team!5 -
@minstrelofsarcasm Thank you for the tutorial and for sharing your story.
@vvlucky Thank you for sharing your story. I wish you all the best on your journey.2 -
I managed to get up at 4am and did 2 ifit walking videos. My husband said he was a little worried and didnt think I was gunna do it, also said he thinks I got up out of spite. I told him if I dont do it in the morning it just doesn't seem to get done. My lunchbox is all packed for tomorrow, it helps that I had to pack my granddaughters lunch. I am going over a little in calories but it goes into my exercise calories that I dont log. I do have to get a little better about that. I have logged my food the last 2 days so big plus there. I am having a little rest before my granddaughter gets here. I haven't seen her for a few days, I miss her running around, she wasnt at school today so I didn't get to go bug her classroom. I'm sure her teacher was happy, lol.4

Wow @ljdanny - 4am workout - so impressive! I'm aiming to get up at 5 am three days this week to let me do a 6am workout (after one hour of peace and coffee ) and find that hard enough! Although, I totally agree with you - if you want to accomplish something it seems like getting it done first thing is more successful for me as the day gets busier as it goes by!
@lennoncpa - love the Sunny pics!
@vvlucky - hehe I hope you liked everything too (as well as logged)
@melaniedscott - those Starburst jellybeans are irresistible! I can't have them in the house!
Got my first Pfizer covid dose yesterday. Felt completely normal afterward. I am REALLY dragging today though. I can't tell if it is my allergies from a very windy night or if it is the vaccine. I'm going with allergies and not going to let it give me an excuse to not do my workout - which I didn't do this morning because I was so tired! I've got mbfa core circuit on the plan for today and I'm thinking I'll do the dynamic recovery (stretch/mobility) workout too, just because it feels so good!
Have a beautiful day everyone!1 -
Is it just me or are some of y’all getting frequent friend requests from people whose profile pics are very scantily clad women in sometimes very provocative poses? And those people always have only 1 or 2 friends. I think anyone who would post racy pictures of themselves on a platform like this has got a desperate and sad need for attention and validation. Either that or they’re just weirdos and those aren’t really pictures of themselves.0

Yes. You can report usernames. MFP is trying to stop it but...difficult. The mods would love if you would. I'm too lazy...too easy to just ignore.
Be really cautious if you accept the request. These accounts frequently post links that connect to infected websites. My policy is if I find your profile pix to be questionable (I tend toward generous on questionable/not, but I DO NOT want to see your...well, you get the idea...kitten is reallly the wrong sub here), I ignore. And if you start posting in cyrillic...well, immediate unfriend...too much nasty coming from those accounts.1 -
@Calli1616 getting up at 4 is very hard. I was thinking Thursday I might not and go to the new zumba class they have at the gym at night. But what it if I don't make it and then who knows I may not get up friday.
@KristieJC I keep getting tons of requests, I just delete them.

Does PW mean the last time I weighed in on this challenge?
Do I enter my CW somewhere?
I took my 8 month old puppy for a hike at Valley Forge park - so much fun. Will do this again and again - I felt like I was out of the neighborhood rut.
Here's hoping for a great day!

Correct! PW is your previous weigh-in. You don't actually have to include it in your check-in, but it's an easy way to see how much you've changed in the past week.
You do not need to enter your CW anywhere. The team captains take care of that, so you are all set for your weigh-in this week!3 -

+1.6 I went off the rails this past week and I'm still figuring out why. I've started reading The Beck Diet Solution; very interesting. Not looking for a quick fix just a better understanding of me.8 -
@vvlucky - while our pup was still alive I used to love taking her for "adventures" rather than walks. We would go somewhere we hadn't been and wander. We both loved it and it helped feel like we weren't in a rut! She was my very best motivator - no excuses were acceptable for not walking her!
@tryingagain5 - nice loss!
@pizzafruit - I keep hearing that book come up in several places. Let us know what you think about it when you get through.
I made it up at 5am again today, so that makes 2 out of the 3 planned. Feeling pretty good about that. I also got my mbfa upper body workout done, so all complete before noon! I'm thinking I might still do a stretch/mobility workout later because they always feel so good and I feel so stiff from sitting at work at the end of the day.
Happy Hump Day!4 -

It sounds like my sweet baby Sunny is going to be here with me for another week. Oh yeah my son Max too. Lol4 -
Whoops, I forgot to weigh in this morning. I'll have to log my weight tomorrow.
Maybe I did that subconsciously because I knew I wouldn't be happy with the number I saw...
Anyway, hope everyone is having a lovely Thursday. It snowed in Ohio, so you can tell it's April Fool's Day.4 -

Hello everyone and welcome to all the new members!
PW 144.3 lbs
CW 145.2 lbs
Started a new job so haven’t worked out as much as I would have liked, and we are going into another lockdown (rumour has it) as of Saturday so I am going to really focus on my endurance running on the treadmill and outside since gyms will be closed yet again. Up one pound but That seems to be the pattern up one down two so let’s see what happens next week. Have a great month everyone!!3
