Spring is a time of new beginnings. What better time to take that first step to better health? Summer is around the corner! Let's get ready. So this month pick one habit you want to change (or more if you are feeling extra adventurous) for this month whether it be for your WOE, fitness, or mental health. As you know, my challenges are always roll-your-own so feel free to tailor it to you.
Let's get this!
(special thanks to @tcunbeliever for the theme idea. I'm not the most creative creature.)

Took a five day break from low carb so this really is my springing back into a new me. Meals planned, bought food today, food prep tomorrow for the week. Taking things one day at a time. I need to focus on being mindful. I've been sabotaging myself. Can't blame anyone e but me for my choices.5

Happy May!
My goal this month is accurate logging. It’s been getting loose around the edges and affecting my results. Back to it!5 -
Will be returning to keto as soon as I am healed from this painful hernia surgery (not able to meal prep at the moment ughh).... I will also be returning to walking as soon as I am cleared to do so (starting off slow again) and I will be using my pool when the weather gets warmer7

So far so good!
Tomorrow we will be told when we are scheduled to be vaccinated. CANNOT WAIT. I really need to get back to the US to see my dad. He’s 83 and needs me to help him with some administrative and computer stuff. I also hope to get to Scotland to see my daughter at Uni.5 -

Thank you so much ....right now the pain is unbearable ... I feel like an entire football team as punched me over n over n over ..... I am hoping to get the drain out tomorrow5 -
Let’s see...the weekend was not kind and I made all kinds of poor choices. So for May I’ll tighten up on the calorie intake and not get so loose on the weekends. I work very hard at exercise so why ruin it by eating things I know will make me miserable?3
-
I spent a few hours over the weekend pouring over keto recipes and my recent habits/likes to plan all my meals for the week. Did some food prep yesterday and am looking forward to being more in control of my outcomes. I also signed up for a 5:30 am spin class Wednesday 😜
@Megan_smartiepants1970 Feel better soon! Fingers crossed on getting the drain out. I remember feeling like I was on a leash.4 -

This is always my issue. A lot of it is Le Grand Saboteur's doing. Why do they have to be so unpredictable?
And some of it too is poor choices. So for me this month, my challenge is to make each weekend better than the one before since I already mostly have the week-days locked down. And I need to at least move out of sedentary steps. I'm tired and lazy on the weekends and this weekend Le Saboteur had us watch a movie. So my sitter saw a lot of action.
Weekend 1 better than previous:: Saturday was terrible as usual, but Sunday was much better with portion control and better choices!

Thank you so much Tish .... I am usually a keto'er but taking a break due to not able to meal prep.....I am a hoarder of keto cookbooks so if you ever need recipes don't hesitate to ask2 -
I'm very new to the group so I am not quite hip on all the acronyms yet. WOE? I'm sure it's something that will be embarrasingly obvious.2

I’m ready to recommit to tracking, and not mindless eating, sticking to my calories and doing my workouts.
This past weekend was a long bank holiday weekend in the UK but today is a new week and I’ve started it off well 😊3 -

WOE is short for “ way of eating”. Lots of acronyms on MFP (lol)
Welcome!

Update on my hernia surgery ...Yesterday I got the drain out and 5 staples ...Today I can take a real shower (looking forward to that) The pain is still unbearable ...he didn't bandage my incision so my pants keep touching it and it hurts ... it is very sore and very bruised (like black and blue bruised) I go back Next Monday to get the remaining staples out..5

I was over on my calories for the day by about 100 which isn’t terrible. I should have had more protein during the day and then my stomach likely wouldn’t have growled after dinner, prompting a small snack. I did limit myself and also refrained from eating more at lunch because I recognized that I was satisfied and didn’t need to stuff myself. Small victories I suppose.3 -
I started listening to "Tiny Habits" online, a book about starting new habits in small steps. Hoping it may help!4
-
30 min strength training Monday
50 min spin class this morning
Sticking to my preplanned meals/snacks for the week
Feeling good about myself3 -
So
5/3: perfect
5/4: Hubby gets the bright idea to do the Mother's Day meal today instead of fighting traffic for takeout on the actual day, after I'd already not fasted all day b/c it was my up-day in cals...so it was a wash.
I shall move on and make the rest of the days perfect.4 -
I have been terribly inconsistent for a while, so am going to make this month really simple (and also start it on 5/5, heh). My one habit is logging my food. Period. I have exercise goals, and am going to aim for around 50 g net carbs (which is a somewhat lower goal than I've had), but the one thing I will absolutely do every day is log, even if I am forced to estimate food I did not cook myself (which is my usual excuse for not logging).5

Not a terrible day but still didn’t hit my calorie goals. My saboteur talked me into a small snack after dinner(including a low carb dessert) that I didn’t need in the least. Now to avoid that siren song the next time!4 -
May 2-5
Cals✅❌✅✅
Carbs ✅✅✅✅
Exercise ✅✅✅❌
Logging ✅✅✅✅
This logging thing is really forcing me to examine my food and ..ahem...adult beverage intake. I’m really interested in seeing my Monday weigh-in.
Edited to add May 5th. It’d be nice if I could keep track of the date.4 -

I had a couple of good days with regards to calories and carbs. I had to fight hubs one day to not eat poorly after dinner then had to fight my own cravings last night but I conquered. I weighed in yesterday and am still within that 4 pound swing so I need to get past this little plateau to move downwards a bit.5 -
5/6: Day 2 of my logging streak. ;-)
46 g net carbs, 120 g protein, apple rings closed4 -

Two more good days with cals, carbs and protein, waiting for the scale to bend to my will too! More NEAT yesterday and today as well. Time to meal plan for next week. Spin class set for Sunday morning.

5/7: Day 3 of logging streak. 41 g net carbs, 136 g protein.3
