Yes I'm definitely doing a caloric deficit. I'm a RN so understand some diet needs but just misunderstood about the fat, thinking it was a minimum amount, the way it was stated. Hopefully now that I understand, the scale will move. THANK YOU3

6/9 Took the day off due to my hip hurting (stupid hip dysplasia) ....6/10 we walked 9.85 miles (wasn't intentional) I do not look at my fitbit or my phone while walking ...we just kept walking and walking and walking (took us 4 hours and 18 minutes ... food is okay4

Vacation has been a walking extravaganza, averaging 6 miles a day! Not terribly concerned about my carbs this week since we are skipping lunch each day. Will wait a few days after returning home to weigh in since I always get inflammation from flying. Feet and hips are holding up ok.

Finished off my crazy hours for the week and did pretty good! I was within calorie goals yesterday but my carbs were a bit higher from a big salad and popcorn. I could have done without the latter but still felt hungry after dinner and had a fairly active day of a 4 mile walk plus strength. Today I went over on calorie goals due to a sugar free cheesecake I made and wanted to sample after dinner. Being tired made that decision much easier. Good protein day so that quelled snacking except for the darn dessert. Here’s to a weekend of good choices- normally my downfall.4 -
6/10/21 Walked again today since I was off work. Same distance as 6/8 and took me 10 less minutes to finish (maybe 5 minutes since I talked with a new neighbor on Tuesday.)
Stayed under my carb and calorie max daily goals and decent amount of Protein, with 2 meals and just had what the fat amounted to (not adding extra) but easily under my max, since I now understand KETO better, thanks to baconslaver!
Hopefully now the scale will move down more!4 -
Big news for today—according to my frenemy the Omron Tormenter, I am no longer „obese“ by BMI standards. So, yay!5

A bit over on the calorie goal today due to grazing this evening rather than having dinner. Boredom prompted that, so I’ll need to work on that the next time I’m feeling lazy and bored. I squeaked out my move goal before bed so that is a small win.4 -
Week#5 Day #1 work out program.
No frills keto... doing it!4 -
6/12-6/13
I hit calorie goals for Saturday but missed Sunday by about 150. All in all not terrible but I was more carby over the weekend in general (just shy of 125g total both days). Will try to keep the focus this week!3 -

Well I was cruising along to a really good day until I let my tipsy hubby talk me into my favorite donuts for dessert and it was off the rails! Man, they were worth it until I got up this morning to achy knees. I never learn...5 -

I did not gain on vacation (first time ever). Today am down to 170 so getting to 169 before end of the month is within reach. It feels really good to be able to set and meet goals again. It took the Move challenge at work to make me realize I was not nearly as active as I thought or as much as my body needs. Food has been consistent. I'm making a batch of one thing at a time (pumpkin protein pancakes this week) and eating it say 3 days in a row. Can't do a whole weeks worth as I'll get bored, but at least I'm not tearing my hair out doing a food prep marathon.
Strength training yesterday, no spin this morning as class was full so will walk in place during a lunch and learn today (better than nothing). Camping this weekend.5 -

Within calorie goals and doubled protein so definitely no cravings. I ate more meat than I needed at dinner but I can live with that. Being in a calorie deficit is really tough for me being as active as I normally am. But I need to wrap my brain around not needing to eat til i’m too full. It’s a work in progress.3 -

Wow I’ve been slack with posting. The heat here has made me generally sluggish and apathetic. Food has been fine, I’ve been hitting step goals but really lacking in the strength training dept. Weight is also refusing to budge...maybe I should change the batteries in my scale.2
-
I'm been keeping up with the walking and the weights...less diligent about the stairs and the cardio/stretching...but it's a work in progress, and I'm working toward 100% compliance!!!2

Had a frantic, busy, mostly outside high (37k) step count day in absolutely sweltering weather. Although I was drinking like a fiend, it was not enough and as soon as I got home I sought a very salty snack chased by about a liter of homemade iced tea. Luckily the living room was cool and I reclined on the couch with my beverage. Thought everything was fine until I walked the very short distance to meet my husband and his colleagues at a lovely shaded beer garden. Two blocks in I bonked. Hard. Made it there, felt like crap, husband goes to get me a wine and I can’t drink it. (This is not actually within the parameters of my personality). Stayed a bit, drank some more water (super full of liquid by now), made excuses and teetered home to a cool bath.
Heat exhaustion is real and can sneak up on you even if you think you’re doing everything right. Please be careful!5 -
6/17 walked 90 minutes and swam 99 minutes3

I went over on calories Wednesday due to a crappy milkshake but was good on calories and carbs yesterday. I’m working all weekend so it could be a challenge but I’m getting better at them by not reaching for something when I’m not hungry . I squeaked out my move goal last night before teleconferences overnight so that made me feel better. Today is looking good so far too.3 -
@Megan_smartiepants1970 I am amazed and inspired by your commitment to exercise.
@taylok23 congratulations on the move goal and you’re going to do great this weekend!1 -

Thank you so much @Ringbearer2 ....Getting out there by 5am tomorrow to go on our lonnnng walk ...I have decided to only walk 3 days a week instead of 6 and swim the other 3 days ... I have been gaining weight since I had my hernia surgery... I feel like my burn is too high and me eating all or almost all of my exercise calories ...So I am gonna experiment to see if I can lose2
