Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

Happy Wednesday!
This post fits in so well with Tuesday’s post of so many amazing pictures
of the UAC family being active in the outdoors.
Here in the States,
it is National Parks Founders Day acknowledging
the establishment of our national parks.
More and more studies are promoting the well-being and health benefits
of spending time with nature.
.
While a visit to a national park is an infrequent and special treat for me,
I do enjoy daily walks outside and weekend hikes.
Somedays I just enjoy sitting outside in the front yard with the dog.
I especially enjoy looking at the flowers and listening to the birds.
I like to think these bits and pieces make a difference.
Today seems like a great day to encourage the UAC family to enjoy a bit of nature
if it fits into your day!

Note to Apple Watch Fans
Apple's next Apple Watch Activity Challenge is set to take place on Saturday, August 28th, in celebration of national parks worldwide.7 -
Thank you, @znaoiec! I had lots of nature the last few days and will try and post a picture.
In the meantime, I am home for a couple of days, and I will do my best to log! However, off to Paris on Friday and then on to London, to finally see my kids, yippee! Logging will go out of the window again then, but I am back on 1st September, in time for September UAC Challenge!7 -

Yes x3 alto just did cleaning and running after bub 4 exercise. We had a blackout all day & night due to crazy weather so I'm proud of myself for pulling today off as it was absolutely freezing and had to improvise with food etc. Night all. Xo9 -
Love seeing all the photos yesterday. Thanks to all who posted one. They made me smile, and inspired me to keep moving on this journey!
As for today’s topic, I love national parks, state parks, county parks, what treasures they are. When my girls were little, I had a book of all the Indiana state parks and I’d enter the date as we visited them. The goal was to hit them all, but we never accomplished that because there was one in particular that was such a favorite, we went back nearly every year. And now, the girls are married, they have children, and guess what, they go to that same park with their families. They always grin and say “trail 3”. It makes me smile that they have such good memories of those times.9 -
Just previewed a one-hour full body workout scheduled for Friday. My body was already screaming only from watching what is waiting for it

@znaoiec definitely plan to enjoy nature with Bandit in a little while altho it is hot as the dickens out this afternoon... looks like from all the photos that most of us are able to get out and about!
@MadisonMolly2017 that is a great reminder. I can't tell you how much self sabotage I have done over the decades by telling myself "I will start tomorrow" or "I will start on Monday" or "I will start on the 1st" So much additional damage is done by having that feeling of upcoming restriction hanging over you. Start RIGHT NOW!7 -

Exercise – yes, bike ride, walking and some cardio.
Tracked – yes
Calories – yes – well under. (still making up for all the treats I had while away)
5 pass days used.
I’m out on my bike every day when I’m home, and often out in the countryside when I’m away from home. I have an AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) right at my back door, and other lovely countryside round about. As I mentioned yesterday, I don’t seem to be able to post pictures, but I loved seeing all your pics.
I agree that getting outside in nature is very good for mental health – it was wonderful to be able to go out through the pandemic lockdown. And more recently, since my son died, I have needed that fresh air and exercise.

A walk through a local city park is detailed in the spoiler with pics (what have you done to me?)But first...a side plank selfie!
This is a very small park with a short trail which is a regular part of many of my local walking and running routes. I like this particular path because it has some very mature trees left untouched (outside of clearing out the underbrush around the trail to better view these trees).
These appeared for the first time today on the trails and were attracting many bees (one captured in lower left).
I tried to get a bee close-up but it didn't turn out as clear as the other one.
Something moved in here early this spring and even installed a small purple door. Everything got washed out during some flooding later on though. This is the first time I've seen anything in here since.
Upon closer inspection, I'm starting to think someone is just joking around.7 -
Yes x3
Swimming for exercise.
Fittingly for the theme today it was in an outdoor pool with loads of butterflies flying around. Very idyllic10 -
From today’s walk. My nature photography on my walks is essential to my well-being. Inspires my art, too!
I was fortunate to grow up traveling to state & national parks throughout US & Canada.

❌❌✅
The day got away from me exercise wise as the MRI this morning ate up my free time for the day, and my calories are over because we’re having a “kiddo’s isolation period is over hooray!” ice cream sundae party. It seems even a modest ice cream sundae is not light on calories. Lol.
Back at it tomorrow, when I can return to classes at the gym! Yay!
On the topic of nature…We have a gray tree frog that lives under our pool slide and I named him Stu. He gives zero kittens we exist and will not move somewhere more suitable and safer for him. Kiddo fancies himself the next Coyote Peterson, and today a baby gray tree frog also came to hang out at the slide. Rest assured there was a video made of kiddo catching the little guys and giving us an informative run down of gray tree frogs. Lol. Here’s a close up.9 -

Successful weigh in today!
This is my second weigh in since the shocking revelation on June 29 which confirmed a lifetime high weight. We had a good talk about how to get started and set a follow up weigh in for July 27, four weeks later.
On July 27 I weighed in 11 pounds down, and joined MFP that day on the advice of the nutritionist. I found and joined this wonderful group a few days later.
Today I was an additional 7 pounds down, making a total of 18 pounds gone since June 29. This has been a terrific start for me and I really feel optimistic about the long journey ahead.
I was also happy to have guidance from the nutritionist at my doctor’s office to adjust my set daily calories and macros. I will see her again in four weeks. 🥰14 -

2/3 pass days a very short walk at lunch due to the heat real feel was unbearable but will not complain as fall is approaching. Managed spin tonight and some massage roller. Logged and stayed under and tracked.5 -
More fantastic pics today. I just love this!
@mshawski - we have tree frogs too and I get such a kick out of them. We also have a pond with green frogs that float with just their eyes sticking out of the water. It’s hilarious.

@donna25trinity I’m so impressed you didn’t let a Blackout derail your day!
@mshawski I’m so glad the isolation period is over for the kiddo! I agree, a little celebration is definitely in order!
