Great looking day all around @LeeH31 (I too am enjoying the quotes)
Hope you have a good time in Little Rock @Mrs_Hoffer
Nice workouts to round out a 3 yes day today @brisingr86
No worries about missing a day or three here or there @Diaryofawhimpyadult you can always update the prior days threads when you're ready. Congrats on the 3 yes day, excellent start to September!
Congrats on the 3 Yes day @tdrjustus3
@mshawski I stopped reading and made the "owwww" face when you mentioned the blown vein! Hope the pain subsides soon. Congrats on the officially unremarkably assymetrical throat diagnosis! 🙃
Fantastic looking day @RangerRickL
Way to go @yrc_pr getting it done and having a 3 Yes day. It's funny how those days when you least want to exercise wind up seeming so great when you actually do the exercise anyway!
Great day @Jillygirl0220 we're all glad you are here with us!6 -
September 2
1. Tracked it all ✅
2. Kept within calorie limit? ✅ Under. I was truly not hungry but wanted to stress eat everything. The smartest response, for me, today, was to make healthy choices, stop eating when the real hunger was satisfied, and keep away from the rest. I am shutting this *kitten* of a day down now and heading to bed.
3. Moved for 20 minutes or more? ✅ 90 minute really quick paced walk with the puppy (who was thrilled.)
Pass days used 0/3Extra goals for September success:
8000 steps? 👍🏻 (12,755)
Reached protein goal of 88g? 👎🏻 (69g actual - proud if my improvement today!)
Strength and stretch 3X / week? (Report on Sundays for M-Su week)
iPhone ban success? Hoping for another great sleep tonight and will dock it in the hallway6 -

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yes
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes- Treadmill: 35 mins / 2.16 mi
- Full Body Warm Up: 5 mins
- Day 3: Beginner EPIC Ab & Core (no equipment): 33 mins
Passes used: 1/3 (1sep)
Day 3 of the beginner EPIC was actually not as hard as I was expecting. It had some side planks that I had trouble with but otherwise everything was fine. I can tell I hit some new ab muscles though. It doesn't hurt so much as feel slightly uncomfortable. Up until yesterday I hadn't done planks and didn't realize there were so many variations. The ones where I used both arms for support weren't hard but the ones with only one arm were a little challenging which makes sense since it would support more body weight.
@Winner_in_Life I have a 2" thick folding mat which is working well. I've had it for years. I also have a yoga mat and that wouldn't be enough padding.6 -
Yes x3
Exercise was a jillian michaels body revolution. I really like jillian for short workouts to squeeze into a day. They switch up enough that I don't get bored.6 -
Exercise - Yes, 45 minute walk with a friend
Tracked - Yes
Under calories - Yes
Pass days 0/3.
Doing well so far. This weekend may be more of a challenge - 4 day weekend with Labor Day on Monday and Jewish holiday on Tuesday and then the kids start school on Wednesday. It may be harder to find time to check in and harder to keep my healthy habits. Tomorrow I am taking my 5 year old to the county fair, and so I know I'll definitely get my walking in, but how to stay within the calorie budget with fair food .... it might have to be a pass day, we'll see. I probably don't need to eat all the fried oreos?4 -

Narrowly avoided a snack attack in the evening. Reached for a book, which helps.6 -
Excellent job keeping the stress eating under control @jamcnewman The added protein goal takes time, strange how hard that one is to do when adding more carbs seems so simple.
Nice triple play day @doubleplay_643
Inspirational consistency @MadisonMolly2017
Way to hit the weights and hit all 3 goals @slimtastesbetter
Great day @Chinkiri - One thing in the USA is the character of "carnival food". Basically an evolution of making portable snacks of a sweet and/or savory variety (typically fried for vending convenience). Just about anything you can imagine has been fried and put on a stick. Fried Oreos and Fried Twinkies took the world by storm about 20 years ago in that scene. For those daring enough to try, they may find something crazy tasty (but perhaps not the healthiest).
Nice walking and a great day @ashleycarole86
Congrats on the 3 yes day @JillyBT
I definitely feel you on the aftermath of new kinds of planks or other isometrics @LazyBlondeChef Keep at it!
Fantastic workout @Geneveremfp and great day!
@Caroline_slowandsteady Holidays can be quite the challenge! I find pre-planning and pre-logging helpful during times like that.
Perfect day @Healthymumlife
Sounds like a busy, active, hard working day @cherie8525 Way to get it done!
Excellent choices today @_JeffreyD_ congrats!7 -

Congrats on the fastest 1k and mile times @bradkcrew It is crazy how quickly the pace can drop after such efforts!
Thanks for being the best group cheerleader! I don't feel like anything is moving quickly, but I am trying to stay positive and celebrate the tiny wins. Something just doesn't feel right though; it just doesn't seem like it should continue to be so, so hard. Eye on the goal, 5 weeks and 2 days...actually in 2 days I have a 10k race, so for now my head is there. It's a smallish race, and I just don't want to be last where they are impatiently waiting to shut things down while I lumber in, lol.

...it just doesn't seem like it should continue to be so, so hard...
That said, there really is a zone called "easy running" (Zone 2 effort) wherein it does not always feel so terrible, and in fact it is when running in that zone regularly that people first experience that "runners high" during a long(ish) run (as opposed to the post-run endorphin rush most people call a "runners high").
The problem is, the human body and mind can not seem to come to a negotiable settlement on what pace achieves that particular zone, because no matter how hard people TRY to regulate their pace, they always wind up running too fast, even when trying so hard to make sure they stay in the "conversational pace". They simply wind up always running in Zone 3 (aka the "gray zone" because it provides barely minimal to no cardio/muscular benefit over zone 2).
Maintaining Zone 2 is hard and for almost everyone requires a mix of walking and running to maintain, as running will simply push them into Zone 3 after a bit, and then walking quickly drops them back down to Zone 1 or lower.
If you are interested in making running a lifelong habit, you should do all you can to make sure you make that life as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Baby your feet by going to a honest-to-goodness running store, getting a free gait analysis done, and getting sized for new running shoes based on that analysis and sizing. Your feet are going to take the brunt of your new hobby, therefore treat them as such. You should also look into some sort of fitness tracking device, particularly one that measures your heart rate as you run. Use that with your training plan to ensure you keep the easy runs easy, and the hard runs hard. Running by feel does not work accurately, ask anyone who has regularly run by feel and then analyzed their HR using such a device. If it was even remotely easy to run by feel, regular runners would spend that money on shoes instead of pricey running watches (and even chest strap HRM's and foot pods).
Hope this info is helpful in some way. Feel free to ask me questions at any time. Likewise in the Challenges forum here on MFP there is a recurring monthly Running Challenge which you might check out as has long been the most solid bedrock of advice and help for all runners, from absolute beginner to ultramarathon here on MFP. You will find tons of advice there. I only know what I have learned and experienced. Having others available with such knowledge and experience as found in that group helped me more than I can properly explain when I started running in 2014.7 -
@Debys137 you are so incredibly consistent and put in some amazing efforts!

Thursday was another pass day - lots of exercise but too difficult to estimate calories2
