Good morning! Here we are, in September!

Summer has flown by, for sure. :o

Had a good workout this AM at the gym. Now we deal with some rain from the hurricane for the next two days. Fun, fun, fun!

    Today is going to be a good day, whether it likes it or not! I going to pick up some Chinese food for dinner on the way home. I wi probably regret it, but I have been craving it for a while now.

    Good morning!

    We came through Hurricane Ida fine. No trees down, just a few branches, lots of rain and wind. No power or cable outages. Phew!

    Hope yesterday was good, @KateNkognito and today is even better!!

    No gym this AM, but planning to take a nice walk outside later. Beautiful now that the storm is gone. WOO HOO!

    Just got back from my son's first cross country meet this year. I almost doubled my daily step count goal for the day. Going to go put up my feet and have a snack.

    Nice, sounds like you have a Fitbit too!! My guy and I just picked up some new Charge 4's this past week and let me tell you, it has really helped give me the kick in the rear end that I needed. We joined a weekly Fitbit challenge with my sister down in Florida and it has been fun seeing who can get the most steps!

    Went to the gym last night after work and again this AM before work. Feeling good. Calories in, calories out.

    Confession time. LOL Today I weighed in for the first time since the end of June. Been slacking off WOE wise. A lot of plain old not caring, over eating, stress, boredom, etc. etc. so it was time for a restart. I am up ten pounds since I last weighed in.

    Time to buckle down and get serious again. This week has been really good. Forward progress. Twenty five pounds until I am at my goal. I got this... Planning to stick with my Mediterranean WOE / 1300 calories, a good amount of cardio and fairly "normal" macros of 40% carbs / 30% protein / 30% fat. May lower the carbs slightly and increase protein down the road as I get in to weights at the gym - we shall see.

    Hope you have a nice long weekend. We are having friends over on Sunday. Looking forward to it.

    @Meghan509 Confession is good for the soul. I have been slacking too. But back on the wagon and away we go! Sounds like you have a good plan.

    Have a good weekend everyone! Three day weekend in the US. Plus we don't have kids on Tuesday. I am looking forward to lots of sleep and cleaning my house. It has been greatly neglected lately.

    Good morning!

    Hope you had a nice Labor Day weekend, @KateNkognito! Ours was nice. Friends came over on Sunday, who had not seen our "new" place and we had a nice visit and lunch. Looking forward to seeing them again soon.

    Went to the gym yesterday (Monday) and this AM. Two for two so far. LOL

    Logged in to work and am ready to rock and roll. Busy week on tap with a work deadline, but I am ready!

    Yesterday I picked up the house and got a couple of naps in. I even read a book, too! Today we were supposed to have meetings all day, but they changed it and we had the whole afternoon to get things done. I got a whole bunch of stuff finished or nearly finished. Whew! Feels nice to catch up a bit! I have been doing well with eating lately. I have been doing 16:8 still. It is working for now. I also hit a new personal best for daily steps last week. I am going to do a few small things and then finish my book and get some more sleep. Short weeks are always a bit intense.

    @Meghan509 Sounds like a nice weekend for you! Good luck with your project!

    Crazy day at work today but productive. Good day of clean eating so far, and a gym trip planned for after work tonight.

    Mostly good day. A couple of frustrating moments, but I was not exhausted. Also, tomorrow the counselor is giving a presentation, so I don't have to teach. That just leaves Friday and then a nice weekend. Very much looking forward to it already! Have a good one, y'all! Stay healthy!

    Good morning and happy Thursday!

    My friend had two tickets to a local concert tonight, so we are going! It is a Pink Floyd tribute band. We are huge music fans so looking forward to it!

    We woke up early and got to the gym today before work. Same planned for tomorrow.

    We got "word" recently that we will be going back to the office at a minimum of three days a week starting in October. *sigh* Been so nice to be working from home since March of 2020, but all good. Will make it work.

    The concert last night was amazing! Nice to see my good friend from high school and her Mom, and BF. Good times!

    Had a good week but the scale thinks otherwise. Same. Meh. Whatever. Onward and upward.

    @Meghan509 Glad that you had a good time at the concert! Sounds like a good one! Sorry you have to go back to the office. My husband moved his office home about a year before covid and he has really liked it. If I worked from home, I think I would get a little cabin fever. That scale just doesn't know what it is talking about! Chuck it out the window!

    I had a pretty good week. The new supplement I am taking is starting to help with sleep. And I started talking to a therapist through our employee assistance plan. Hopefully it all helps and I can get through my current funk. Have a great weekend! Stay healthy!

    Glad you had a good week. Have you taken magnesium at all to help with sleeping? We buy ours on Amazon and like it a lot. Have been using it for the past two years now.

    Weekend was nice. We managed to get to our local beach both Saturday and Sunday! Might be the last beach days of the "summer" as it is slowly getting cooler. We shall see. Fortunately fall is nice too!

    Glad you are speaking to a therapist. Good for you. <3

    I hear you about a funk. This time of year is hard on me. I get down when the weather is getting cooler, when the scale is not agreeing with me, with the fear that my clothing is not going to fit well when I go back to the office three days a week, and the constant struggle of dealing with diet and weight... Sigh...
    Just a few random things that get me down. *hugs*

    @Meghan509 I already take magnesium. My chiropractor has me taking a couple of supplements to help with anxiety and sleep. Hope they work. I hear you about this time of year and all the other stuff. I think a lot of people are in a bit of a slump. At least we are not alone.

    Sounds good, @KateNkognito we like magnesium a lot. Hope your other supplements help.

    Long day ahead in the "regular" office. Two days a week we are in person in the office for the rest of September. As of October 4 we are in a minimum of three days. Takes a little getting used to but it will all work out. :)

    Had a great day of exercise and eating yesterday. Same planned for today.

    Had a good full day in the office yesterday *grumble grumble* - honestly wasn't too bad. Got a good walk in right before lunch and we went to the gym after work. Another full day in the office scheduled for tomorrow.

    Today we woke up early and went back to the gym before work. Good workout.

    Been eating clean and drinking my water. Already looking ahead to yummy recipes for next week. Need to use up two pounds of beef stew meat. A nice slow cooker meal is calling. :)

    Good morning,

    Hope you have had a good week.

    Had a great week of clean eating and 5 days of exercising totaling five hours and 32 minutes, 64,000 steps and counting!!! Got to love all the stats the Fitbit gives!! The scale is not impressed. :( Oh well. Onward and upward once again. Pretty sure I am building muscle as I have not regularly worked out doing any form of exercise since February of 2020 or right before the Pandemic started. Yes, we did some light walking during the heavy duty lock down but nothing crazy.

    Looking forward to a nice dinner with friends tomorrow night and a beach day or two thrown in there before it gets any cooler. Supposed to be sunny and in the 80's F tomorrow and Saturday. Today is overcast and a little cloudy and humid. Better than rain!

    Yikes! I just realized I haven't posted since the beginning of the week! Sorry! Progress reports were due today and my son had a cross country meet yesterday. I feel like I am coming up for air!
    @Meghan509 Glad you are doing so well with the exercising! Since it is starting to cool off just a *little* bit, I want to get back to walking. Even if it is just 15 minutes around the block, so to speak. Scales are overrated. Think about how you feel. Are you comfortable with how you look and feel? Are you in shape enough to do the things you want to do?

    No worries, @KateNkognito I know school can be busy!

    Yes, I definitely do feel better and my pants do feel looser in the tummy region where I tend to gain. I am sticking with the same plan for this week. Eventually everything will figure itself out and the scale will catch on! Would like to lose 25 lbs and then I am good. It will come. Just need to be patient.

    Weekend was nice. Good to see friends. Booked two more concerts for October, bringing us to a total of three shows now! Woo hoo! Four, if you include the show we went to a week or so ago. B)

    Monday. I seriously asked my students if it was the storms, the full moon, Monday, or all of the above. One of them said that it was the double rainbow that they all saw this morning. Gotta love kids! :D

    Ate too much this weekend. Regretting my life choices. Back on track today. Therapy appointment tomorrow. Excited to get started.

    @Meghan509 Sounds like a good weekend! And like you have a plan for the weight loss.

    Yep, Mondays oh so much fun!

    Today is not too much better. Lots of traffic on the way in, came in a few minutes late.
    Then, went out of my office this AM to use the rest room and locked myself out - forgot to bring my ID to swipe back in. Security had to let me back in. Sigh... Good times.

    Hopefully today gets better!

    Busy day at work on tap. Clean eating and exercise planned after work tonight.

    It is still the full moon. 'Nough said. Therapist appointment went well. I realized yesterday that since July 28th I have averaged a pound a week loss. I am doing better than I realized!

    Yesterday went well. Today is going well too. Last night we went to the gym after work and then again this AM before work. All good food wise too.

    Halfway there! I so much need a weekend! And a nap. I went on a walk with the dog today. Not a long one, but the first one in a while. The temperature has dropped by about 20 degrees, so it is actually nice to be outside.

    Good morning and Happy Friday.

    We made it!! Seven hours left of work, but who's counting? ;)

    Last night we went to the gym and had a good workout on the treadmill. I do feel pretty darn sore and was super tired last night. Today it was pouring so we passed on the gym. Planning to take a walk after work as it is slowly clearing up.

    The scale is still not impressed, but that's okay. I feel better and my tummy feels smaller. Pants are fitting nicer in the waist area. Definitely need to get out the measuring tape soon. Trying not to obsess about the number on the scale but I need to lose weight. Sigh...

    Next week I am going to change things up a tad and aim to stay under 100g of carbs per day. When I was on Keto, I was eating 20g of carbs per day. So it can be done. For me it basically means forgoing one banana per day, not the end of the world... :) In time I may add some berries or another lower carb fruit, but for now I think I'll be better off and the scale should come around.

    Looking forward to dinner with friends on Saturday PM. Guess we will also pack up the beach chairs and towels and put them away for the season. Beautiful weekend on the way but not really beach weather anymore. That's okay. :)

    This week was the longest year of my life! Lovely weather here. I think I might take my laptop and grading outside today.
