Todays weather is improving for warming up.
Right now it’s 4 Celsius Degrees and overnight it’s expected to be 1 Celsius degrees. Certainly warmer than we have had for a long time. Forecast said 60% rain, we had about half of that with more cloud ☁️ than rain!

    Humidity 54% - 74%

Partly cloudy 0 - 1mm rain but we have already had 2 good rain showers today?

That 1°C less plus a slightly lower humidity top reading makes a BIG difference to how the day feels. It's nice today.

That’s great to hear Susan, rejoicing that there is improvement! 😊

WE ARE UNDER A RAINFALL 🌧 WARNING

    When: Today to Sunday.

Each day from Friday to Sunday will receive approximately 20 to 50 mm of rainfall accumulations. The highest amounts are expected on Saturday. The cumulative rainfall accumulations over three days may reach near 100 mm by the end of this weekend.

After a stretch of a drier period, checking on the drainage and removing tree leaves or objects blocking the drainage may prevent water pooling or localized flooding in low-lying areas.

TEMPS ARE 4 Celsius degrees overnight!

Weather the same, heavy rainfall! Friend came by today to drop off something, she said our roads were pooling in water and other areas on the road were flooding. I didn’t check temps but think they are about the same.

Cyclone Alfred was slowly building up strength way out at sea till today. It was causing lots of humidity, oppressive heat and had caused it to be pretty still. It was nowhere near the coast (1000kms out to sea) but the system was big so it affects us that way. Now it seems to be fizzling out. The ocean is still warm enough to generate cyclones till close to April.

Thank you for sharing the link Susan, will check it out later as it takes you away from MFP. Will finish my posts here tonight and read about later when I sign out here. Please stay safe my friend.

We had heavy rainfall 🌧️💧 all through the day. Temps were a high today of 8 Celsius degrees and low is now at 4 Celsius degrees. Forecast says warmer temps coming tomorrow and it looks like No Rain. Hallelujah! 😊

The situation with Cyclone Alfred is that it has intensified to a Cat 3 Cyclone but it is still far off the coast. Some island resorts near Rockhampton are now evacuating as a precaution. Some models are still predictions g the Cyclone will keep travelling south which means it could cross the coast near us (Queensland bulges out at the south). No one is worried but we're all keeping an eye on it.

Thanks for keeping up in the loop regarding Cyclone Alfred that is now a category 3. Praying for your safety Susan and Colin.

Our weather continues to be about the same. But it did warm up earlier today to actually double digits of 10 Celsius degrees and a low over night of 5 Celsius degrees. It was 40% rainfall so it was better today. We had Cloudy Skies and it was quite dark out.

High of 65F (18.3C) and low of 29F (-1.6C) with humidity of 9%. We need lots of lotion when the humidity is this low!

Cyclone Alfred is tracking nearer the coast but is a Cat 3 right now. It will cause our local weather to be windy and people on the coast are going to have big swells.

    30°C/86°F to 22°C/71.6 °F (it feels 2°C warmer, so 32C/89.6F)

    Humidity 60% - 85%

    Shower or two. 0 - 4mm rain

I came back in today because there is a new possible cyclone scenario for tomorrow according to Higgins Stormchasers. They are a trusted source of information about local weather. If this scenario happens, I could lose power and therefore Internet and not be able to chat tomorrow. Here's what is a possibility. We live just north of Brisbane.

    tnl1gttupoid.jpg

    They also said this:

"Look out TC Alfred is becoming a sneaky snake! There is increased confidence in model data and also our opinion this morning that the system might actually pay SEQLD & NENSW a visit... Over the coming days Alfred is expected to track South with a wobble South West on today & Sunday before a ridge veers him towards the South East on Monday and Tuesday. During this time he is going to cop a bit of a beating though from vertical wind sheer, dry air intrusion and slightly cooler sea surface temps. All of this will weaken the system BUT he is expected to survive! Data currently has a clear and pronounced stall in movement late Tuesday due to large high pressure system shifting into the Tasman Sea and THEN a steady track towards the WEST.
A subscribers video forecast is also available and more will be produced... Heavy rain maps, Flood maps and a second very high detailed landfall crossing track & intensity map will be issued IF the system maintains the potential for a landfall.'

Don't be too concerned for us but we might have to batten down.
