This is my fave nugget, thank u @biketheworld for reinforcing the fact that we are all doing the right thing as @lesdart180 put it so well, move more eat less. Ha ha so simple yet I know for myself I tried all these ridiculous restrictive diets in the past and yes I lost the weight but was miserable and could never keep it off!! Recently I was so frustrated, I was 3 kgs from my goal weight and at a plateau for months. I was so tempted to do another quick fix as my sister was doing the cookie diet yep u heard it right a diet were u eat nothing but cookies. He he! Thankfully the new improved Donna chose not to buy into it and instead I continued to surround my self with the positive influence of my UAC group!!6

I want to give @biketheworld a very special THANK YOU for doing this series. I realize that we're all in different places in our journey, but I do think there is a lot of very good insight and information in these "nuggets"..... especially for new people, and for those of us who have found ourselves back here over and over again!!
Thanks again for all the thought and hard work you put into doing this series Diane. I appreciate you!
Have a great trip!! 😊
Love it! Xo1 -
After using Pass Days 3 and 4 this weekend, I'm back on track today!
Tracked - Yes!
Within calorie budget - Yes!
Exercised - Yes! - a 7 mile run 😃
My Garmin Forerunner showed I burned 611 calories doing the 7 mile run today. Interestingly enough, the 2 glazed doughnuts I indulged in yesterday had just a bit more than that, they totalled 620 calories! 😄🍩🍩😉4 -
@tahm42 sounds like you have found ways to work around it and hve found ways to make u happy too!! Good for u!!!
@summerskier You are 100% right!!! I am sure we can all relate to this!! I found myself always dieting and yep not effective cos I was not counting calories and not measuring which resulted in eating wayyyyyy to much!2 -

🌟 Tracked it all
🌟 Exactly on the mark for calories (kept the exercise ones in the bank and didn’t use them after the big Thanksgiving celebrations yesterday)
🌟 90 minutes of walking & hiking out in the valley
A lovely and relaxed day today together outdoors with sunshine and fresh air — though it was really windy. You can feel the snow bite in the air. 🥶 Time to get the winter hats and gloves up and into the front hall cupboard. I needed them on tonight’s dog walk and I got really chilled again. It was wonderful to put the fire on 🔥 and warm wooly socks 🧦. I love fall. 🧡💛❤️

Mon Oct 11
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving to all who celebrate.
Back on track after Sunday's pass day!
Exercise - 15 minute MommaStrong and 45 minute slow (but hilly) hike with kids and my friend - a much better way to celebrate a visit from a friend than the eating out!
Tracking - Planned, adjusted the plan as I went
Calories - Under!
@biketheworld thank you for sharing those nuggets. As I said in the beginning, I think part of why some of them didn't resonate is that someone who is working on losing 100+ pound is in many ways doing a whole different project than me. This last one really did, though. My mother as I was growing up (and still) was always on a crazy diet and had all kinds of magical beliefs about food. A lot of my first weight loss journey on weight watchers was just learning what actual nutrition was - that it's not about cutting out certain magically bad foods or adding in certain magically good foods, but just simple counting! And nothing is actually bad or good, it's all about whether it fits in the count or not. I'm glad I realized that fairly early - at the beginning of living on my own - and it has stood me well since.3 -
@tahm42 I don't think that dealing with life threatening food allergies is food drama at all. It sounds like you have found good ways to keep yourself safe while still having fun, and I'm sorry that anyone gives you a hard time about that.5

Ah, the good old diet drama. Unfortunately, I've seen that a lot in various communities - be it weight loss, lifting or general health. All it does is teach a highly unhealthy relationship with food and ultimately with your body.4 -
