I had something to say and completely forgot. Lol oh well. Couldn’t have been that important. Good night, y’all. ❤️9 -

Did not close all my Apple watch rings today - movement fell far short.

Mild reaction to my booster shot yesterday (aches and low fever) kept me from sleeping well and not feeling at my best today. Thanks @Mrs_Hoffer and @ashleycarole86 for the well wishes. I got out of the house finally around 5pm to do a walk and it felt great to clear a bit of the cobwebs. I'm excited for tomorrow!
Side note: we apparently own 3 thermometers, but none of them agree with each other.

I have to share this gem...last night one of my sons asked me to PLEASE tell him that I wasn't going to bring my food scale when we go to Thanksgiving dinner. He also suggested that I not randomly plank.
Exercise: Tracking: Calories:
I loved this post so much I laughed out loud. 😂😂😂 Randomly plank? Tell him you’ll be intentionally planking. And you might even do it in your bathing suit. After using your food scale. Children. 🥳 👍🏻

Tracking 👍🏻
Calories Probably too low (and I am heading over to post for some help on this in “what’s on my mind”) ⬇️
Exercise ✅
Clearing snow and snow, and more snow; emptying the old chest freezer and cleaning the floors in the basement before the new upright freezer was delivered today (during a blizzard —
and yes, they still wanted to come); loaded up and organized all the new shelves and baskets; hauled garbage bags of bread ends, nuts, loose freezer dried mysteries, and other refuse out to the lane. Whew. Off for a very hot bath in the hope that I will not be sore tomorrow. 😬

But then I thought today, this is stupid, get back to it, I always feel happier when I’m in the challenge….and then when I saw your post I knew I had to!
So today all was good, three yeses.
I love this!
A wise woman once said "Habit building is habit building. If you are going to build something, you have to keep assembling until it is done!" - @BMcC9
But I agree! Just continue to show up and report.... trust me, there is NO judgment here! It's so much easier to drop out than it is to be a Champion!6 -

Of the 60 people that started out the month posting in the November UAC, only 48 (80%) are still posting half way through the month. That's a 20% drop out rate. (Our newest members are included in this number - but only the ones that started posting at the beginning of the month).
To break that down even more, for our "regulars" (people who this was NOT their first month in the UAC), the drop out number is 16%. For our newest members (again, just those who began posting), the drop out rate this month is 36%.
But for better news...... as of the 15th, there are still 60% of you in the running for the Winner's Circle!! And I think that's FANTASTIC!! Personally, it seems to me that the month seems to get more and more difficult as it progresses to the end! Lol. (But perhaps that's because I've used 2 Pass Days thus far!!? Lol.)
9 people have used 0 Pass Days so far this month, including one of our newest members ( @MontanaMom )
I want to end my mid-month stats /info post by saying a big "We Miss You" to some folks that we haven't seen around here for awhile:
@brisingr86
@clutterqueen
@Dory_42
@eokoro
@fourathomej
@idoliov
@JTreasures
@Katiecan2021
@MaltedTea
@oh_jackie
@RangerRickL
@SModa61
@Winner_in_Life
We'd love to see any of you stop in, say hello and let us know how you're doing!
I like what someone said earlier this month: "it's easier to drop out than to be a Champion".
You have to become DETERMINED to CHOOSE "Champion" !!
I went back to Nov 2 to get BMcC9's pic of the sea otters! I just love this! and find myself saying "oh, I see Maddie there, and Summer over there, and Oh, Look! There's _JeffreyD_ too! Lol. (Does anyone else do that when they look at this picture, or am I just going cray cray!!) Lol.
Happy rest of the month to you all! WE GOT THIS!!!!
I'm the one treading water until Thanksgiving Day. Ha.6 -
✅✅❌ although tracking and calories were right on target, no exercise because I'm fighting a big head cold.
5/3 ( I think)7 -
@Mrs_Hoffer - Those are fascinating, but rather sad statistics. I think there’s a tendency to drop out once the 3 pass days are gone, which is too bad. This is my 11th month in the UAC and I’ve only made winners circle twice, which is a huge reflection on my lack of embracing necessary changes in my diet, and yet, if I’d walked away 6 months ago, I am 100% certain I’d have put all that weight right back on. There has been progress, albeit slow, but there’s also NOT been a return to insanity. I also used to think “big deal, I’m on the champion list” but now I can see that it IS a big deal because I’m still here when it would have been so easy to leave. Thanks for these eye-opening stats.
@davert123 - I’m really curious what a “critical power test” is. I assume that’s on a stationary bike. I’ll have to google that. As soon as I REMEMBER to google it.
@donna25trinity - you rock that bikini!
@MadisonMolly2017 - you’ve given me a lot to think about for Thanksgiving. Since we weren’t able to be together last year, I’m really looking forward to everyone here - which will be a total of 17. Even though obviously the food is part of the tradition, what I’m looking forward to is all the laughter, the chaos of 8 kids between ages of 2 and 9, the games, watching old videos or slides, sitting around talking. THAT is what it’s really about. My plan was to enjoy the food, not worry about the calories, but not overindulge either. I’m rethinking the food strategy now.
And this sums up Thanksgiving perfectly: “Health First. “Food is no longer my entertainment or joy creator.”
So thanks for all that!
@lesdarts180 - thanks for sharing your story. And I couldn’t love your bikini attitude more - you are AWESOME!I have to share this gem...last night one of my sons asked me to PLEASE tell him that I wasn't going to bring my food scale when we go to Thanksgiving dinner. He also suggested that I not randomly plank.
You get the “best laugh” award today.
@Katiecan2021 - glad you’re back!
@davert123 - hope you feel better today. Thank goodness for dogs that want to go for walks. If only all humans got that excited.

5/3 ( I think)
on days like that I switch exercise gears and take the "twenty minutes of intentional activity / doesn't have to be twenty minutes in a row either" VERY literally.
I do "the Zombie Shuffle" in whatever segments I can manage (say 4 x 5 mins to 2 x 10 mins max; could even be shorter but more of them .... eg 7 x 3 mins) and either walk in place beside the bed or wander up and down the hall. Just to get that box checked.
If worst came to worst .... wrist and arm range-of-motion stuff. It's intentional. It's a cumulative 20 minutes. It's SOMETHING.
(and being able to do longer more energetic segments as I recover encourages me to get back to "the real deal" when I can ... instead of having to fight a "trying to re-solidify" sedentary brain-path.
Habits are habits. The brain/body connection is "lazy" and will auto default to "most recent steadily familiar". Make the default movement of SOME kind.
(that is in keeping with Dr's / physiotherapist guidelines, of COURSE!)5 -
Exercise: more than 35 minutes on exercise walking game ... plus more marching in place near the end of the evening while watching tv. I was restless / it had been raining all evening so no after-supper outdoor walk available.
11,281 steps total on the day.
Logged: Yup!
In Goal: used minimal exercise calories (still left over 100 "in the pot" after earning plenty extra via fitbit credits.4 -
@biketheworld
I’m glad it helped! I’m also very relieved that in the midst of posting, I realized I didn’t want to “let loose with the food.” I know if I do on Thanksgiving, the rest of the holiday will be difficult to reign in.
Took me months to get my food REALLY back under control, so I’m not gonna jeopardize it now!
Sounds like an awesome Thanksgiving- I’m happy for you🎉5 -
Just checking to read through all of today's posts while on a 10 minute conference break. Agree with @ashleycarole86 -- lots of thought provoking & inspiring posts to contemplate and lots of laughs 🙂3

@bradkcrew - I burst out laughing at your random planks! My daughter has forbidden me to have push up challenges with my 6 year old grandson at his bedtime. What is the matter with these kids?
@jamcnewman - “loose freezer dried mysteries” - Seriously, I never know what they could possibly be!
Pass days - it is interesting to me that my pass days used to be 500-1000 over including exercise and now they are pretty much less than 200. I don’t do intentional pass days because I have quite a few unintentional ones.
