We got this!
It's that time of the month when each of you need to let us know if you are going to be in the Winner's Circle for December!!
Also, the new UAC group for Jan 2022 is posted. You can sign up for January here:
https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/142048-ultimate-accountability-challenge-january-2022
And a huge THANK YOU to @SummerSkier @snowshoe072 and @TerriRichardson112 for posting in the Challenges thread to promote the UAC for January!
Please take a few minutes to give your own testimonial of what the UAC has meant to you. This thread helps new people to find us and join us in January, and each post puts us back at the top of the (long) list of challenges so that we're easy for people to find us! You can post your 'testimonial' here:

Hanging in for the Winner's Circle by a fingernail .... a very short fingernail ....
3 pass days used (Dec 2, 23, 25). I get my booster shot on Dec 30 mid-morning, so whether I make it in the end MIGHT come down to how I feel evening of the 30th / through the day on the 31st (judging by some of the reactions mentioned by others earlier in the month)6 -
Plan on being there. I have 1 more pass day left. So I am feeling confident. I promise not to eat my emotions but instead feel them. This has been the key here lately.7
-
Iβm definitely not in the winners circle but excited for those who made it during December. No small feat!
We are enjoying an all inclusive holiday which can be dangerous food wise but it just the meals and drinks that I have to navigate as we arenβt snacking. Thereβs a nice gym here and they do lots of classes and activities so with that and running around after a toddler we are staying active.
β Calories - breakfast was fine but lunch and dinner weβre over
β exercise - ran for 30 minutes + 16,000 steps!

Today's exercise was a core isometrics routine.
Restlessness is in full force and chaos has been cranked to 11 here. I am looking forward to January 5th when everyone's routine is back in place. That is now only 1 week away! πππ7 -

Sorry to say today is a pass day. I slept late and we met my partners sister and BIL for lunch. By the time we got home I was too full to even consider the treadmill. I'm still full four hours later and will have a light frittata for dinner at some point. Calories & logging will be fine. It's only the exercise that is a failure.

I've used too many pass days this month and am not in the Winner's Circle.
Today I finished the book "Whole: Rethinking the Science of Nutrition" by T. Colin Campbell. I'm not sure who recommended it in this group, ( @ideas2 maybe?) but it's a very insightful read - I seriously couldn't put it down! I actually have another one of his books to read next: "The China Study".4 -
@Mrs_Hoffer - thanks for this recommendation; Iβve just borrowed the ebook on Libby through our library. Looking forward to reading it.
Will not be in the Winnersβ Circle this month β for the first time since I joined in August. Onwards.

@Mrs_Hoffer - The China Study is an excellent book, it was a regular point of reference for me back in 2007/2008 since the entire content was based on solid, reviewed research with references to the research sources themselves. I imagine it has been updated since then, but my guess is that was foundational to what T. Colin Campbell put in the book you read (not that I know, I haven't read it...yet, might read it now since it sounds like a good one).1
-
@WhatMeRunning Chris, you are correct in that The China Study was foundational for this book "Whole". And he refers to The China Study several times in this book.1
-
Just looked up T. Colin Campbell in my Libby (Public Library) collection. The China Study came first (borrowed); then Whole (on hold) and then The Future of Nutrition (also borrowed)
Time I started reading something with more redeeming value than my other .... 10? ..... more? Dec choices (none had ANY redeeming value beyond being an interrelated series of pure Regency Romance brain-candy escapism)6 -

I knew you would make it!!!! You are a ROCKSTAR, and very inspirational when it comes to your exercise and determination. Kudos!!2 -
* 30 min jog, boxing, walk & stretch.
*Meditation and journaling
* Under calories
* Tracked blt
* Monitored sugars but slightly over
No winners circle for me this month. @mrs_hoffer I hve also read the China study a while back, such a good read!!
I love Nye celebrations it's one of the very few times a year I let my hair down and drink cocktails. I like the milky, baileys cocktails so they are very high in calories. I am feeling a bit anxious about it but feel like the best way to handle Nye is to give myself permission ahead of time to hve wat alcohol and food I want for the evening and not to restrict myself. I feel that if I count calories and try to restrict myself I will just self sabatage and end up bingeing in a few days due to depriving myself.. This is exactly wat happened to me at xmas. So this guys is me giving myself permission to drop the counting calories for the day and not feel guilty about it! I'm hoping I will still do my workout in the morning though. Xo4 -

Back on track I hope. I made two terrific soups today (thanks @Jana_2020 for reminding me of the hambone in the fridge) and the post of the 27th helped me think about what I could be doing to help myself to success from now into the start of the new year.
Finally broke down and called the doctor today after suffering it out. Back on antibiotics for another infection and hope this zaps it quickly. Tired of being so tired, but eating poorly and failing to do everything in my power to preserve and improve my health wonβt help. π‘
Exercise is truly minimal right now, but it is 20+ minutes and intentional, and will keep me moving forward until this infection improves.
We are in an extreme cold warning that is now to continue into the weekend. Temperature is dropping further tonight to -35C (-32F); feels like -48C (-54F) with the windchill. Cabin fever is real. The dog is going stir crazy. π₯³π₯³π₯³5 -
