The Ultimate Accountability Challenge (UAC) provides both weight losers and maintainers with incredible accountability partners AND an emphasis on life-changing basic healthy habits.
This is not the flash-in-the-pan 'biggest anything" short-term challenge. This is the real deal!! We are a non-commercial volunteer group with a proven track record of significant team member success.
We enthusiastically welcome our returning veterans and newcomers too!
The accountability part is a daily report of:
1) 20 minutes (minimum) of daily exercise;
2) Tracking everything that you eat and drink;
3) Consuming no more than your chosen limit of daily calories
4) Reporting of your fulfillment of the above in the group daily..... or at a minimum every couple of days.
A non-fulfillment of any of the above equals a Pass Day. There are 3 Pass Days allowed per month. It seems simple enough - but it is not easy!![:) :)](https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Those who end the month with less than 4 Pass days are celebrated in the monthly Winner's Circle Qualification!! And those who stick with it even after they've used up their Pass Days - are celebrated as Champions!!
Please join us for January:

This challenge has helped me to remain accountable this last year and to lose 50 lbs. We have such a wide variety of people in this group who are in all stages of their weight loss / healthy living journey, that there's always someone with wisdom and insight about any issues and/or problems that I've encountered. I do hope that you'll give us a try as you work on your goals for 2022!3

I've been with UAC for almost 3 years. This is such a great motivational space, where you get valuable support from the kind, caring members. It has helped me finally reach my UGW (just before Covid hit the world for six) and stay there for the duration. Posting everyday helps build solid habits which will help you on your quest for better Health and Fitness.3

A lot of people are establishing fitness and weight loss goals this time of year. This challenge is hands down one of the best, if not the best way to help you on your 2022 goals.
It's a simple check-in process taking just a minute or two to post. And therein lies the real magic. As long as you keep checking in, whether it was a good day or not, it keeps your focus on your goals. Whether you make the winners circle is not what is important, it's keeping your goals in focus even on the bad days by checking in, making yourself aware of what worked and what didn't, and thereby opening up the thought process to make your plan to success the next day! It's when people give up and quit posting that they tend to backtrack. So overcoming that self-destructive habit by making yourself quit looking back in regret, and putting faith back in yourself, posting, and looking forward to the next day is a huge help for some people. That is why each month we celebrate the "Champions" who stuck it out all month even if they had 4+ pass days. That's how champions of health are made, those who stick with it. Health is not just for a week, or a month. It's for life!
There is no judgement here, only positive support, so there is no reason to not participate and start your 2022 journey with this amazing group of people of many backgrounds, approaches, and with tons of expertise among them.
You won't ever regret trying it out.6 -
The rules of this challenge are set in a way that allow for maximum "find what makes a sustainable eating / activity pattern for YOU / YOUR style - situation - preferences" flexibility.
All we ask is that you show up, and report in. Just doing that much makes you a CHAMPION. It also supports the creation of self-awareness and truly sustainable for YOU habits.
You will always be encouraged. You will never be "eliminated".
Choose your own preferred / required eating plan (be it lifestyle choice, health condition-mandated, or household work-arounds influenced) and your own exercise type & routine.
Hope to see you soon!4 -
If you are looking for positive encouragement to create new habits, UAC is the place for you.
🔹Set your own goals, and fulfil the daily commitment to report how you have done.
🔹Ask for advice from people who are treading the same path.
The support of our members is legendary.
Come join us and see your progress soar.

Are you thinking of some form or accountability?
Then this challenge will definitely benefit you.
Join us, you will surprise yourself. At least I did!3 -
Great group of people, welcoming environment, wonderful things to focus on to help you meet your goals.3

It is really amazing how such a simple accountability model can cause me (and others, and you?) to check in daily, track everything that passes your lips, keep to your calorie goal, and move intentionally for 20+ minutes. Doing these three things every day has helped me lose 40 pounds since August. Join us?3

I have been on UAC for 12 months now, starting in January 2021. During that time, I lost 50 lbs. The accountability provided by AUC was key. The rules are simple and offer one flexibility to set one's calorie limits. The three pass days a month are exactly the tolerance needed. By losing the weight, I greatly reduced my sciatica pain and avoided spinal surgery. I am back to my weight from 25 years ago! Many thanks to UAC!!7

This challenge has literally changed my life, it has taught me so much and through tiny changes to my habits along with following the 3 rules I hve been able to get to my goal weight. I have been a part of this group for 14 months and it has allowed me to become really aware of what I was doing well and most importantly allowed me to see were I was not doing so well. Every one is so supportive, interesting and friendly, their are people from all walks of life. We cheer each other on, wish each other well and it's an environment that I hve been comfortable to open up and share my weight loss struggles with which is usually something I don't even discuss with family and friends. If your looking for a place to work towards your health and or weight loss goals this will be great for you. I look forward to meeting u.5

I’ve been here for one year and this has been instrumental in transforming my weight loss/get healthy mentality. We don’t fill out spreadsheets, we don’t even report weight loss (officially, although we certainly celebrate it when reported). Take care of the 3 rules and the weight loss will take care of itself. It’s simple and hard at the same time. There are people in this group with more wisdom and knowledge than I will ever have. Everyone is encouraging, and honest. My biggest advice, join and stick with it, even after you go past the 3 pass days. The point isn’t to “win” every month, the point is to learn, make progress and gain better control over your health!5

I read through all these wonderful posts I am at a loss for words to describe this group of nonjudgmental awesome folks, give yourself a chance and try us out you won’t be disappointed start 2022 on a new and exciting path we all walk it together here. No one walks alone.4

So many heartfelt posts.❤️❤️❤️
To my knowledge, I am currently the longest, continuous active member of UAC. When our previous leader decided it was time to focus on other things (hopefully only temporarily as we miss him), I knew I would do WHATEVER it took to keep this group going. Thankfully @Mrs_Hoffer stepped up to lead us & many volunteered to keep UAC going.
After almost 4 years in UAC, I have to say there is “magic in these woods.”
You can hear it in the posts above:“Welcoming”, “honest”, “non-judgmental”, “encouraging”, “changed my life”, “avoided spinal surgery”, “one of the best” support..legendary” “accountability …key”
I lost weight over 2 years 8 months.
I’ve maintained 3 years 4 months - the longest of my 45 year battle with obesity.
So far, a 6-year journey.
There. Is. No. Way. I. Could. Have. Done. It. Without. This. UAC Group.
Lifesaver. Life Saver.
I wish I could fully convey the success that awaits you in UAC. How much better you will feel, having addressed & vanquished our common formidable foe. We are here.
🌸Maddie

I joined UAC in September and it has become one of the pillars of my life. Or rather, it has helped me to organize my life around healthy habits, and the accountability to the group and seeing this group of inspiring people all prioritize their health as well is what has kept me on that path. It's a great group.3

Looking for a supportive and caring community? You've found it here. Try it for a month and see how you like it. After all, what have you got to lose?3

This is not a “New Year quick fix” challenge or a “lose 5kg in 8 weeks” challenge. In fact, it is not a weight loss challenge at all. It is all about your overall health and fitness. It promotes good habits, is encouraging and supportive.
I joined my first UAC in January 2020 after losing 22kg and successfully maintaining for some months. But, as many of us know, losing weight is only the first step – it can be more difficult to keep it off once the motivation of seeing the scales move down is no longer there. So many of us lose weight only to see it creep back again. This is where continuing to log and watching your other nutritional and fitness goals can make a big difference.
Join us wherever you are on your health and fitness journey and see for yourself!
