Thanks, Mihani...you inspired me to go for a TM walk. I got in 1.75 miles and watched a video on setting up processes rather than goals. I've been setting a lot of Fiber Arts goals, but I'm going to change the way I'm doing things so that I create daily processes for myself. I'm also going to make sure I work my food and exercise into this because they are essential to my health and happiness. Motivated.

Cool that your juices arrive today, Nance. Good luck with it! How are you doing on your chore list?

Love those colors, Carla. Going to be a beautiful scarf, I'd be interested in that video. I attended a seminar once (work-related) with that concept but I don't remember much about it. Yay for treadmill!

Got another 20 minutes in this morning on the treadmill. I just want to set the groundwork for getting up and doing it this week and next week I'll up the time spent on there. I kept at it for quite a while earlier this year but it seems like it only takes missing a few days to totally kill the habit.

    Menu same as yesterday.

Home a little early (or actually, I'm home on time but I hardly ever leave the office on time) because the boy has an appointment at the vet.

    Gotta run!

Carla, your property looks like something out of a movie...wow...that is beautiful. Love your passion for your knitting...so good to have...so healthy.

Mihani, you are killing your program and your TM...keep it up. Hope the end of the year is no too terribly bad for you.

Juices arrived...thinking one meal and four juices a day. I tossed out all the bread/buns...all the opened bags of Gardein. I have two bottle of Just Egg...last date is Jan 25...thinking that will be an easy breakfast when I am up and able to walk and stand for a bit. Just the Just Egg...maybe a tiny bit of spinach with it.

My order of Well Your World products arrive today...so I might have potatoes and spinach and seasonings from the collection...along with juice.

Waking up in cold sweats at night...panic attacks. Hoping the class they give (Monday 1/3) will help to alleviate some of my anxiety.

Organizer comes today...getting things ready for me...and putting things in an orderly manner in closets, drawers and cabinets and a bit of the garage. Not much to give away anymore. But table with water bottle, coffee machine (I use a French Press...but a few years ago my sister gave me a NEPRESSO...will set that up....should be easier for me to start)...paper plates and cutlery. I bought a caddy to keep it organized.

Lulu is going to be by herself for at least one night...maybe two. I have no one that will stay the night. I do not want to put her in a dog care place...that would be worse, I think. But my neighbor will check on her.

Confession time...so Lulu still uses wee wee pads. I am unable to walk her ... (poor thing)...and she is pretty good using the wee wee pads, except when she is stressed. DUH. So, to add to my worries, I am going to be so embarrassed if she does not use her wee wee pads. OH, and she only uses them for wee wee...she poops on the tile. I do not have a fenced yard. And it is dark when I go to work...at least now.

My hope is in three months I will be walking so well, and it will be getting light outside...(not til May does it really start getting light outside by 6...then 5:30)...I will be able to walk her...for sure on my days off...keep her in bed til it is light and then get her out first thing.

I think my worries about Lulu and her situation (that I have created) are the most stressful. What will others think.

Ok...just thought if I shared that with you guys, it would help. But now, I am teary eyed.

Oh, and I have three mops...two steam and a spin mop...the floors are clean. The end.

Ending up having Just Egg with Chao Creamy Shreds and Southwestern 505 chili...hoping to juice the rest of the day OR potatoes and spinach only. Oy Vey!

Nance, you are doing the best you can, and no one should be judging you for that. What else are you supposed to do? You and Lulu will get through this, and you'll be walking together happy as clams. Would temporary fencing work for you? There are smaller and lighter systems that pet stores use to confine smaller dogs and puppies...maybe with something like that, Lulu could be outside for short periods of time without you worrying about her running off. I know coyotes are a concern, so that may not work, but just throwing that idea out there. It is tough with the shorter days and with your long work shifts. Could your family pitch in a little bit while you're recovering?

The video wasn't particularly good, Mihani. I was mostly inspired by that core idea of coming up with systems rather than goals. The how-to part wasn't covered. The blogger mentioned Atomic Habits multiple times, so I was going to read that again. I'm not even sure I finished it the first time.

Joe went down the driveway to see if we could get out with our truck to run some errands in town. Nope! The plow went by and there's a 3-foot wall of compacted icy snow. We're not going to be able to get out until next week when the snow melts. Maybe Tuesday or Wednesday.

Here's a hand spun hat I finished knitting last night while we watched TV. A fast and easy knit that will go to my mom if it fits her. It is a little too snug on Joe and I.

Aww, Nance... don't worry about that at all! It is too bad someone can't stay with Lulu or take her home but she'll be okay and nobody is going to judge. You give Lulu a wonderful loving home. Hope you are able to relax a bit after getting your questions addressed.

Carla, love that hat! I laughed when you said quick knit. That would have taken me a month, and probably never would have been finished because I would have messed it up. I should revisit Atomic Habits as well. At least you're snowed in with Joe and the two of you get along well. I can't think of too many people I would be happy about being stuck with for a week or more. LOL

I am hearing from more and more people who have covid and at least half of them are fully vaxxed and even boosted. I scheduled my booster for next Friday. Figured if I didn't feel great the next day at least I could stay home.

Did the treadmill again this morning, but food was not great. I was stressed and tired, and the leftover stir-fry that I took in was past prime and didn't eat much of it. Fruit for breakfast, a little of the stir-fry for lunch, then had some pretzels and an almond milk yogurt and an evolve shake throughout the day. Dinner will be a big ol' salad.

No secretary tomorrow. I'm going in at least part of the day Friday, hopefully get some work done with nobody else there to bug me and I won't answer the phone. Then dinner and a movie with my brother at his place on Friday and I'll be home in bed well before midnight. One benefit of getting older is there is no pressure from anyone to party! I never did enjoy NYE parties anyway. Maybe it's partly the proximity to Christmas. I just don't have it in me for yet another holiday after Thanksgiving and Christmas.

A quick GIANT thank you for your kindness...both of you sweet peas...gosh, you're the best. A million thank yous!

Off to do some errands, then a pedi mani ... then today I have one final EKG...they just got me scheduled yesterday. Sheesh.

Will juice at work. Two days. Friday Saturday Then one Monday...then the following Friday Saturday. Eat at home.

We accoplished a lot yesterday...organizer manages to lower my stress level...she is heaven sent for sure.

Be well both of you, STAY SAFE those living in a Winter not so much Wonderland.

    Later, dollies.

I've never been a party gal, but especially nowadays. It's very unlikely that I'll be up until midnight, though I will say with these 3 weeks of vacation, our routine has moved towards later nights. My favorite thing to do on January 1st is to go for a nice walk in the morning.

I'm glad you have that organizer helping you out and helping to lower your stress level, Nance. So worth it! You are well prepared for your recovery period.

It's warming up here today. This morning it is 23F out but overnight we had half a foot of snow on top of the existing load. Sure looks pretty! The return to normal temperatures and the big melt should start on the 1st.

    Today's plan
    coffee
    Fuhrman oatmeal for breakfast
    toast w/ pb
spaghetti w/ veggie sauce (sans mushrooms due to snow-in), walnut parm

LOL, short mailbox, Carla! Hope you start to thaw out a bit there soon!

Glad you're feeling better, Nance. Ohhh... I haven't done a mani/pedi in several years. I should schedule one.

Long day today. Going in for a few hours tomorrow morning. Then I have to decide whether I want to go in Saturday or Sunday. I'm going to work both days but one from home. Silly me, I honestly thought when we hired the new gal a few years ago that my life would get better, but we have just got more and more busy. If we hadn't hired her I'd be in a loony bin by now though, so I guess there's that much going for me.

B - ezekiel toast with a smidge of almond butter (oh how I will miss my ezekiel toast when I go grain free for January!)
L - Dr. McD soup, a few wheat crackers, an apple
D - lentil soup from the freezer stash

I really think it will be good for me to go without any starches for a month, other than sweet potatoes, winter squash, peas, etc. I just mean no grains really, even quinoa or brown rice. I want to knock off these last 20 to 30 pounds and if I go full on ETL for a couple months, and avoid alcohol, get daily treadmill time and a few days a week playing with dumbbells, I can do it. I feel like it's sort of a health imperative at this point. I'll be 58 in February, and I don't want to have health issues going into my 60's.

    Love ya gals *hugs*

mornincoffee2.gif No party girl here...all the way back to 2004...Ernestine and then Lulu. THE perfect New Year's date!

Ok, I just am going to have two light meals and four juices. NO gluten...one fresh salad (LTO, corn, kidney beans, rice, salsa) and one Amy's Plant Based gluten free mac and cheese. Cuties for dessert.

    Having coffee right now.

    Oh lord! >>>

^^^This just does not seem right, Mihani. I will be working on Saturday...so know you do have company...it's a bit different cuz that is my schedule...but maybe it will help.

All that snow, Carla...and those temps. Man, you have to know what your are doing when you live where you do. I would be the one with frozen pipes and no food. Hang in there...hope it melts soon.

Nothing going on...looking forward to the class on Monday...hoping I find out about a home nurse and how I am going to get to PT.

Nail gal cancelled yesterday. Had my EKG...that is the last test cept Covid, I think that is the tenth. The 11th, I meet with the surgeon. I just want this over with and know that I was fixable.

    TC my lovlies!

One thing good I found out...you know I have my giant treadmill in the living room...continually thinking I made mistake buying it. So I looked up AFTER TOTAL KNEE REPLACEMENT, is it a good idea to use the TM.

Answer was yes...once I can walk, the incline is better than flat surface...it engages quads more, plus there is something to hold on to. Now, I just have to make sure it does not dry out...it has not been used in months. Need to look that up.

That ends the good news portion of our program. :p

Happy New Year! I am off to dinner and a movie at my brother's place. Talk to you all next year!
