@WhatMeRunning So sorry to hear about the shingles. It was a good reminder to me to schedule the second shot for my shingle vaccine which I had been postponing. It happens today!4 -
@WhatMeRunning , wishing you a good recovery - shingles can be horrible!3
-
@WhatMeRunning - oh no - shingles! I assume you’re on meds. You don’t need to hear my shingles experience, so I’ll just say my heart goes out to you and hoping you have a mild and manageable case.
EVERYONE - get the shingles vaccine and spare yourself.5 -
I am on an anti-viral prescription, started yesterday. I'm taking ibuprofen and acetaminofen for pain/discomfort for now.
I wanted the vaccine and asked about it at my physical back in September. Doc said that insurance does not cover it until age 50, so he recommended I get it at my next appointment, just less than a month after I turned 50. That appointment was yesterday. Go figure!
As for symptoms, they were getting more noticeable by the day. Last night was the worst so far. To this point the symptoms have not been the nightmares I have heard, but they are still no fun. I'm hopeful they stay mild like this.
Thanks for all the well wishes!9 -

Exercise? Yes, barely.
Tracking? Yes.
Calories? No.
January 26 would have been my daddy's 103rd birthday. I miss him daily. I also still "blame" him for me being a lifetime member of Weight Watchers since I was 9 years old. Hahahaha!
Time to sign up for the February UAC? Sigh... I don't know where the month has gone. All the days have just run together. Last night (1/26), when I was putting my daughter's meds in the dispenser, I had absolutely no idea what day it was and had to ask her. Yeah, it's been a week. And yeah, I went to bed shortly after that.6 -

Hi group! I just signed up for the Feb UAC and am a newbie. I saw the invitation to join the last few days of Jan UAC and thought, why wait 'til Feb 1st? Tell me if I'm not doing this right...! I'll backlog as many days as I can before Feb UAC starts, too.
Exercise 20+ mins: yes, 49 mins walking, 15 mins weight training (steps=12,003)

Exactly right! (level of exercise detailing is personal preference - but fun and inspiring for the rest if SOME detail is included as you did here)4 -

Jan 26 - checking in but haven't been logging or exercising. On a bright note, I am keeping my January mantra of not letting perfect be the enemy of good.
@WhatMeRunning I'm jsut reading back a bit and trying to catch up. So sorry to hear you caught shingles; my goodness you've been having a tough go of it. Bad luck on catching it just before your vaccine appointment but good that you got in right away to get it treated. Hope you have a speedy recovery!2
