Able to do an outdoor 2 mile (3.2 km) walk after supper. 3rd evening outdoor walk in a row ... but back to the deep-freeze temps tomorrow - so ALLL stepping will be back indoors. We didn't get much snow, but BiL ~ 45 minutes south by highway got LOTS.4 -

Thursday February 3
Today is the fourth anniversary of my dadβs sudden and unexpected passing. I had cleared my day knowing that I would probably struggle. As much as I wanted to eat all the leftover holiday goodies, snacks, and chippies (especially the chippies), I didnβt.
My husband and I each just had a lovely single malt tonight to toast dadβs memory, and I had enough calories in my daily allocation to also have some popcorn. Kitchen closed and off to bed early.
Tracked it all

Exercise: yes- Treadmill: 4.03 mi / 74 min
That's the most time I've spent on the treadmill in forever. I was reading on my Kindle and had about 10% of the book left to read. I wanted to finish it so kept walking. I had to slow down after about 3mi because my hip on the right side started hurting. Making up some of the damage from the last weekend.5 -

I am finally, 3 weeks after the booster (and associated autoimmune thyroid flare), feeling better! It felt so good to go for my walk yesterday and not have all my muscles and joints screaming and feel like I was wading through jello. Just a walk. So grateful. The double shots the first time had me out of commission for 6 weeks. I was hoping for a better outcome this time, but I guess 3 weeks is proportional. I have not yet had covid, and I shudder to think how that is going to affect me. Hopefully less since I've had all these shots. And I do wonder how often we're going to have to get these shots, because I do need to make some changes to my expectations of my life if I'm going to feel this bad for this long this regularly.
Today I am going to try my MommaStrong workout again, which I haven't done in 3 weeks. Sad about how much strength I have lost. But seems like the ice that hit many of you yesterday is on its way to me and I am not going outside for my walk today.
@mshawski those tights are awesome. You look like a trapper keeper in the best of ways.7 -

@mshawski Whoa! Lol. I love them! You will certainly stand out and be "seen" by any drivers! They're very "safe".
@jamcnewman Julie, I'm glad that you were able to have a successful day, in spite of it being such a rough day. I'm sorry about your dad. I lost my dad in 2015, so I know how difficult it can be. {{HUGS}}
@Caroline_slowandsteady I'm glad you're finally starting to feel better! Don't over do it today!1 -

@jamcnewman Great job and many hugs! I know a rough day for you.
I recently lost my Dad a few months ago ...the end of October 2021, after in & out of hospitals and rehabs since he got Covid the end of December 2020. It's been so stressful & still getting medical bills.
And,, now, I am trying so hard with my Mom. She is on the same path of in and out of hospitals/rehabs, it seems, since October 13, 2021 when I suddenly had both parents in seperate ERs at 2 different hospitals at the same time. Now, I have another crisis situation with my Mom that started on Monday...
I must start taking care of myself, too. I keep starting and stopping, so now I am committed to this group. Even if just for accountability.
Many hugs...

My heart goes out to you @Elbee1 π I am sorry for your loss and for all the challenges you face now. Taking care of yourself is much like βputting on the oxygen maskβ for yourself first. It doesnβt feel like it is a priority but it all absolutely is. Your mom and YOU need it. Take good care of you through all of this. π4 -
Thanks @Mrs_Hoffer for your kindness. I am sorry for your loss too. Miss him every day. π1

@Elbee1 I canΒ΄t imagine how difficult that would be dealing with that loss and also dealing with the continuing illness of your mother. I hope you can keep posting here and that it helps to support you and help you give yourself grace while working on taking care of yourself in addition to your more.4

@jamcnewman
