Sorry I haven't checked in. Been preoccupied with work, church, and also spending a lot of evening time linked up (PS) with my son playing Horizon Forbidden West. I have to take the time with him when I can. I'm worried he'll get sent out to the Ukraine. I know on the news Biden just said troops wouldn't be sent over, but that doesn't stop me from worrying.

I have been doing really good with my challenge of no soda. I only faltered once a couple days ago. Hunter came home and handed me a Raspberry Lemonade Mount Dew. I didn't even think...just opened and started drinking it. Got right back on track the next day, though. We went to see Uncharted yesterday and instead of buying the fountain soda, I bought 2 bottles of water. Now THAT is an accomplishment!

I've also decided that I'm going to do the Daniel Fast for Lent. Need to get back on track with good, whole food choices instead of all the vegan junk/convenience foods. Gonna clean out the fridge and cupboards this weekend in preparation. Hunter can either jump on board or find hiding spots for her stuff.

More later! Don't forget to drink your water today! (Yes, I'm looking at you, @trooworld !)

    2022 Mantra: NO ZERO DAYS!

@laurelfit57 Good for you for trying to stay within your calorie limits with all the eating events you have going on. Sometimes it happens when we have a lot of events and doing our best is the best course of action. :)

@annflaherty1 How wonderful to read that you and your sister are survivors. We are definitely clinging to keeping our positivity as much as possible. :)

@FushiaKat We have been having some crazy weather too. Today is flip-flop weather and this weekend will be chilly again. I think we are done with freezing weather so I’m thankful for that! I love taco salads!

@Katmary71 rude of your doctor to flake on you but yayy for meeting someone that you liked. Hopefully, you will be able to continue to see him during your appointments. :)

@Glombog We have a few coffee addicts in this group, so you are in good company. ;) I just started doing protein shakes too. I buy whey protein powder with stevia and mix it with unsweetened almond milk and sometimes leftover cold coffee. So tasty!

@amioc Could it be your IBS that has your weight up? And I am sure you are not going to be the ugly whale! What would you say if one of your friends talking to themselves like that? I bet you wouldn’t stand for it. Have fun with them and don’t worry about how you look, which I’m sure is great! <3

@Cornanda I’m glad that you have your husband to talk to about your feelings concerning your sweet dog. How could you not be on edge and wondering if every little thing means the worse is coming. You are preparing yourself for it and it sucks! Hang in there and know we all care so much for you. <3

@GabiV125 You are doing great with your efforts so keep it up! B)

@trooworld Ohhh those veggie straws are addicting once you start eating them. Good job on drinking more water! ;)

@askewcr It is totally making a difference that you get in the gym and do what you can. Do it as often as you can and don’t stop. I really wish my husband hadn’t stopped working out and I’m on him all the time to at least do something when he feels up to it. At our age, we have to keep our flexibility and muscle tone. :)

Hi Team! Dang, we are so chatty lately. I love it! It got up to almost 80 degrees today. I came home from cleaning the church and put on a short-sleeved shirt and sandals before taking Joe to the eye doctor. Tonight is ladies Bible study and we are finishing up the 7-week study we have been doing. I really wanted to dive deep into this one, but the last few weeks have been a lot and I’m mostly feeling glad that it’s over. Our next study is going to be something very lowkey and not full of so much homework. I just don’t have the brainpower to take on anything too deep and time-consuming. And I feel the good Lord understands. o:)

30 Day Spring Challenge, Day Seven:
    1) Weigh every day Weight 190.0
    2) NO sugar or snacking between meals No snacks or sugar
    3) 30 minutes of exercise or physical activity cleaned both church buildings

@katmary71 sounds like a wise choice switching doctors! It’s tough when you don’t have one that you feel is on track.

@Glombog protein shakes are definitely my guilty pleasure as well! That’s exciting that you are selling your apartment!

@amioc Sorry you’re having a rough time of it, sending hugs your way

@Cornanda Lisa my heart is breaking for you. As long as your little guy is happy, you’re good♥️. You get an extra little bit of time to pour all your love into him.
I would definitely count salsa/corn/black beans as a veggie!! Sounds like a most delicious veggie to me! When I was working out at home, I found it so much easier to quit a work out early or not give it my all, when times were tough. I am glad that you are able to straighten out your attitude, really hard to do in tough times, just shows what a strong person you are🥰.

@GabiV125 It sounds like you have a very solid and sustainable plan, that is so important! The things we learn along the way :-) :-)

@trooworld it sounds like you had a super successful day yesterday congratulations! Those dang veggie straws, they are definitely a downfall of mine lol! Until I am down this last 6 pounds, they will not enter my house🤣.

@askewcr now you are making me feel old… I can tell when the weather is going to change by the arthritis in my thumbs🤣. I’m sure it was the increase in your exercise that is causing the aches and pains, not an aging/arthritis thing😅

@tammymccrady Can I just say that I am super impressed with 3 L of water! Congratulations on hitting your spring challenge goals yesterday.

@vegan4lyfe2012 congratulations on that soda challenge, I know that can be a real tough one.

@Teresaw1020 wow 80°, I can’t even imagine that in February. I honestly don’t know how you have the time and energy to do other things that you do, you truly amaze me!

It was a great day today, it was warm enough this morning to get Vannie out for a walk before I headed over to the gym. I busted my butt in spin class just knowing how much I have been going out this week! I have been trying to keep my exercise points at between five and 600 and have been doing OK with that. I was able to find a Thai chicken wrap at the restaurant we went to, so that felt like a great choice and super delicious!!. Now tomorrow is my last day of eating out. I am taking my granddaughter to see Sing 2, we are going to have a popcorn lunch! I will work my butt off in the gym tomorrow morning before the movie , then have a small bag of popcorn with no butter. I just keep thinking, the goal is to stay the same this week🤪.

I feel like I just wrote a novel lol. I am now going to soak in some Epson salts. Have a great evening everybody

    My Spring Challenge commitment is:

    1) Read for 30 minutes a day or use my Scroll Saw = I read All Creatures Great and Small today.
    2) Move at least 30 minutes a day or walk 3000 steps. 3142 steps today so far.
    3) Weigh everyday - 170.1

Dear friends, please know that I am here supporting you. I'm dizzy again today with a touch of brain fog thrown in. It happens, and it will hopefully pass. Having my husband yell at me is not helping me. He is so far behind on his work; I can't help with that. I did help this morning by going and exchanging 3 of his Propane bottles.

I'm so proud of you ladies having Fruit Salad instead of cake on your birthday!

I got a new flavor of Yasso, its Coffee Chocolate Chip 100 calories each. I can't wait to try it.

    Hello everyone,

My name is Natalie. I am 52 and live near Montreal , Quebec( Canada) I am a mother of 3. My babies are now 24, 21 and 17. Yes they are still my babies. My user name is 18922 which is my badge number from my work. I’m a Canadian Border Service Officer and have been for the past 12 years.

I am a diabetic Type 2 with a couple of other issues like recently diagnosed arthritis in my knees, hips and joints. I have been overweight since my late 20’s. I have never made time to take care of me. When the pandemic hit all of a sudden I was categorized as being vulnerable. I hated that so I started walking 8-10km a day and lost 30 pds.Last year I struggled up and down with the same 5 pds. This year I switched things up and focused more on my eating as opposed to exercising ( plus it’s winter here and I hate the cold)I’m finally down another six.

I was introduced to this group by Katmary71 and looking forward to getting to know and support all of you.

    We can do this!

@Glombog I'm listening to Sivert Hoyem (I don't have that letter on my keyboard!) right now, he does have a great voice! It reminds me of someone from when I was little but I don't know who.

@amioc I can tell you right now your friends think you're beautiful just as you are! If you knew one of your friends didn't want to be there because of their looks how would that make you feel? Now don't treat yourself that way! Do you have leggings or a dress you can wear instead? Please try not to focus on your looks and enjoy your time with them, I can tell you now the only person thinking bad thoughts about yourself is you. It sounds like if your IBS is acting up chances are you're holding onto water and inflammation as well so give it some time. You're more than a number on that scale, I know it's easy to be focused on that when you're working hard toward a goal but you're so much more to everyone else and you should be to yourself as well. Hugs my friend.

@Cornanda I'm so sorry you're dealing with seeing your pup struggle right now, I'd be the same way so I can't tell you how to cope, just know we're here for you. Sounds like you're already doing better in your last post, way to go!

@GabiV125 Keep up the great work! I'm trying to do similar to you with end of May when I go to the concert as a goal, it makes it easier but it also has me doing math that I'm not going to reach my goal the way I'm going!

@trooworld I had to laugh at veggie straws, I think because you feel like you aren't eating much because they're so puffy they're easy to overeat, I do that too! Glad you had a good day yesterday!

@micaroo4 I think 10 minutes a day is doable, at the least you can dance around for 10 minutes! I used to start my workout with a 10 minute song, Ghost Love Score by Nightwish if you ever want some music that fits perfectly, something about thinking it's only 1 song versus 10 minutes makes it easier to me, maybe it will you as well.

@askewcr It drives me nuts having limitations but the weather and adding in more time/stuff to workouts definitely is a balancing act. Get it girl!

@tammymccrady6278 I used to make myself stop because I got a little obsessed with hitting numbers exactly, glad you were able to go to bed under!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Having water at the theater is awesome, way to go! Did you do the Daniel fast before, I could swear it was you last year or the year before?

@TeresaW1020 Sounds like awesome weather there! The less homework Bible study sounds like just what you need, you have a lot going on right now.

@laurelfit57 Sounds like you're doing amazing, have a great time with your granddaughter!

@FushiaKat I hope you feel better, take good care of yourself. Let us know how coffee chip is, I've never had that one!

@18922 I never knew that was your badge number! I'm glad you're making time for you, sounds like you're on the right track!

Hi gang. I had a late Walmart pickup so I could make pasta salad tonight so the dressing could soak in overnight for a get together with my family. I can barely see at night! Funny, I was looking into belly dancing classes and there's one that starts at 10:30 PM, who the heck goes out that late! I keep thinking it has to be a typo unless it's somehow related to the moon, I was going to drag a neighbor who wants to work out with me but she goes to bed earlier than I do! Today was fairly mellow, I got a message from my parents that my mom tried to catch up with me driving but I was going too fast, I didn't leave the house until tonight so she wasn't chasing me, would've been funny if she'd caught up to the person. Workout was good, food was high because I ate some pasta salad but I really was in a binge mood because I'm mad I'm not eating back exercise calories and only lost 1lb in 2 months eating 1300 calories but I'll keep plugging away. No Diet soda and meditated every night lately, yay!

    Good morning Slimpossibles!
It's a snow day. I don't work on Fridays anyway, so I'm happy that I don't have to be anywhere but at home. It's coming down at a good clip right now and it's going to snow all day, with 8-14" predicted. It's supposed to be a light fluffy snow, so I shouldn't have any problems shoveling, even with my injured wrist.
My workouts today will be indoors. I'm planning to do at least 30 minutes on the stationary bike, and another 30 minutes of stretch (essentrics). I may also try my hand with some light weights. Still can't put weight/pressure on that hand, but I can grip OK. I also want to try to get a few indoor walking miles, so that I don't fall too far behind on my Walk The Year 2022 mileage goal. Currently I'm at 289 miles. A little behind (to be on track, I should be at 310 today). Still within reach. At one point last year I was 43 miles behind, and I still made it. I'll do some indoor walking workouts today and maybe get 2 or 3 miles.

@micaroo4 Hi! That's great that the challenges help you stay active. I love your goal of 10 minutes of activity a day, that's reasonable and achievable.

@askewcr That's right, talk back to those little voices!

@Cornanda I'm glad the talk helped. I'd say your effort is worth counting, too. Hang in there.

@tammymccrady6278 You did great on the challenge yesterday!

@vegan4lyfe2012 Congrats on the loss! I love that you and your son play video games over the internet to stay in touch. I can see why you are worried about the Ukraine incident. Congrats on the NSV of drinking water at the movies, that is big! Good luck with the fast. Thanks for the water reminder, I didn't do so well yesterday but am on it today! :D

@TeresaW1020 Yes they are! Oh you are having nice weather...I hope you are out on your porch enjoying it. I'm glad the next Bible study will be lowkey, you need a break.

@19shmoo69 I do that with hot peppers and I also remove the "ribs" from them. I guess I also remove the seeds and ribs from bell peppers just because it looks better lol.

@laurelfit57 Thank you! Way to stand strong against snacking! I'm glad you got Vannie out for a walk. Great job finding food that fit into your budget at the restaurant. I hope you have fun with your granddaughter tomorrow.

    @bgame4 You are rocking it!

@FushiaKat I'm so very sorry you aren't feeling well and on top of that, your husband is yelling at you. That must be awful. Coffee Chocolate Chip Yassos sound yummy!

@18922 Hi Natalie, welcome to the team! I am about your age, I'm 53. Congrats on your 36 lb loss!

@Katmary71 Yes, exactly with the veggie straws lol! My gosh, 10:30 pm belly dancing? I would have been in bed for 2 1/2 hours by then lol. That must be frustrating to only lose 1 lbs in 2 months. Do you think it is hormone-related?

@Glombog Nice! You have that at work? I wish I had that at work lol. Enjoy your shake!

@micaroo4 That's good you don't have to drive to work in that snow. I do indoor walking videos, Leslie Sansone's Walk at Home videos. I love them!

Hi all. I didn't do any exercise yesterday even though I had planned to. I plan on it today so hopefully it works out. Yesterday, I had workers in my house most of the day but the work is done so it should be fine. Have a good day!

    My Spring Challenge commitment is:
    1) Exercise 3 days a week - No but will exercise today
    2) Drink 50 oz of water a day - 25 oz drank

My phrase for the year: "Something needs to change…so I will take no crap and eat no crap!"

@Katmary71 – I did the Daniel Fast 10 years ago. That was my catalyst for becoming vegan. Celebrated my 10th Year Veganniversary just 3 days ago! I’ve been throwing the idea around the past couple years to do the Daniel Fast again, but hadn’t. I’m going to give it my all this time. OMGoodness…what if your mom HAD caught up with the other driver?!? Hahahaha Glad she didn’t! Hunter made pasta salad yesterday, so I ate a bit too much of it. But it had been so long… Anyway, maybe that belly dancing was supposed to be AM instead of PM?

@18922 – Do you work at the checkpoint? My daughter and I went to Canada via the Sault Ste Marie International Bridge a couple years ago. So easy to get into Canada, but way more difficult to get back to the U.S. We love the Provincial parks/waterfalls up there. Stupid COVID. We really want to go back.

@Glombog – Your office has a weight room? Nice! Enjoy your shake!

@micaroo4 – I’m in Southwest Michigan and woke to about 4” of the fluffy stuff. And just Wednesday we were at 54F! We get all the Lake effect snow…usually nice and heavy. What a fun walking goal for the year! I’m sure you can do it!

@trooworld – It still amazes me that Marcus and I can link up and I can see/hear the game and him through my TV. Technology is awesome! I remember when my sister went into the Navy back in 1988. Only had snail mail back then, so we rarely heard from her.

@TeresaW1020 – Still praying for you and Joe. What is the new Bible study focusing on? I’ve been thinking about leading one this spring at my church and was leaning towards Beth Moore.

@FushiaKat – I would be remiss if I didn’t tell you that I’m very worried about the verbal abuse from your husband. It can easily escalate into physical abuse, not that verbal isn’t bad enough. I’ve lived it, so that is why I’m worried about your well-being. Please reach out if you need help.

Hey everyone! So I told Hunter last night about doing the Daniel Fast and that Ash Wednesday is upon us. She agreed that we need to get the junk out of the house. It’s a snowy day here in SW Michigan, but thankfully not blowing hard so I don’t have to wear a coat  I hate coats. It can be 10F degrees out and I will still not wear one if the wind isn’t blowing. Guess that’s what happens when you’ve lived in this climate for 48 years!

Anyway, I forgot to toot my own horn – on our lovely Palindrome Day (2/22/22) I celebrated my 10 year vegan anniversary. Still no protein deficiency! Hahahahahaha

Thought I’d attach a video of what the weather is doing to my local beach (this is right by my job). Pretty wild, isn’t it? Have a lovely day, my peeps!

Well, the half the day is gone and so I will just do a quick pop in. I really need to be at my desk doing work, but this is more fun. Met my veggie and mental health goals yesterday. (spring challenge) Spent awhile on the phone chatting with a friend. That was awesome! Tried to do a hip hop aerobic workout yesterday and apparently my bod doesn't do hip hop. It was kind of nice that the Youtube instructor had a back up dancer who was good but looked more awkward than the instructor. Thanks everyone for lifting me up about my pooch! Appreciated!

@laurelfit57 thank you for your sweet words. <3 I don’t know how I do it either other than I’m a master list maker so that things don’t fall through the cracks. Good job on making a good choice at the restaurant and a Thai chicken wrap sounds super yummy! Balancing eating with having good hard workouts is a great action plan. :)

@bgame4 I’m so glad that you are finding this challenge and posting your results motivating. You are doing amazing!! B)

@FushiaKat You take care of yourself and don’t worry about getting behind on posting to everyone. There is NO pressure here! That Yasso coffee chocolate chip flavor sounds incredible. :)

@18922 Hi Natalie! Welcome to our team. I’m sure you have some great stories as a border officer! You have come to the right place to help you stay accountable and get the much-needed support we all need as we strive toward our health goals. :)

@Katmary71 10:30 pm is a little late to take a belly dancing class unless it’s for those weird nocturnal humans. Good job on no diet soda! Pasta salad is one of those foods I have a very hard time saying no to. Just keep plugging and your weight will move down when it’s ready. <3

@Glombog Good for you for finding a perfect way to spend your lunch break! Love all those dumbbells!

@micaroo4 wow that is a lot of snow! Remind me where you live? I once went to Weight Watchers with a woman who walked six miles a day inside her home. So, it can be done! B)

@trooworld I haven’t been out on my porch yet but I’m certainly hoping too soon. The yellow cloud of pollen is about to descend on us and then it will be too late until it’s probably too hot. Such is life in Georgia. :D That is good that the work in your house is finally done. Maybe that workout can happen tomorrow.

@vegan4lyfe2012 Thank you so much for your prayers! The Bible study we just finished was from Kelly Minter called Encountering God. It was on spiritual disciplines and a good study but way too much homework. We have decided to take off a couple of weeks and then read the book of Job in ten weeks. We will read on our own time and then come together to discuss. I love that kind of studying best. :) I'm not a fan of Beth Moore, but I know a lot of women really enjoy her studies. Happy vegan anniversary! :) That is great that you are able to get in enough protein. I know that can be an issue for many vegans.

@Cornanda good job on meeting your challenge goals and dropping some weight this week! Yeah, my body can’t do hip-hop moves either. :p

Hi Team! It was another beautiful day and hubby and I got to be out in it for a while. He had to get blood work done at the cancer center and the doctor is pleased with how he is doing so far with this first round of chemo. We decided in a moment of spontaneity to go to a Mexican place, Willy’s, that we had never been to before for lunch. It was very good but certainly not on my plan. But sometimes you just got to go for it. Afterward, we came home, and I paid bills and cleaned up the house while hubby put together our new round glass coffee table. Other than a few minor details the living room is done, and we love it! :)

My day was a little better today. I will try the Coffee Chocolate Chip tonight, I allowed for it. I've eaten taco salad's the last 2 day's I will eat squash noodles with shrimp tomorrow since we have loaded baked potatoes on Sunday's. Got to say slim and trim for Tuesday's weigh in. When I get really stressed, I eat a 20-calorie sugar free candy, and that calms me down. Lol Pickles and Sugar Free Candies!! My rear-end is already 42" I don't need it any bigger. Those seem to do the trick without much impact. I ordered a size 12-14 skirt trying to figure out what size I am because lots of my skirts are now touching the tops of my shoes, and to be honest I don't like it.

@vegan4lyfe2012 omg that video showed some crazy ice formations, I would love to sit and look at that.

I don’t know how accurate that is. I honestly weighed myself right after dinner. 😅 I can come back and update tomorrow if you all want a more accurate weight.

    Hi everyone,

Busy Day 😊. We also had another major snow day so spent an hour shovelling. I guilted myself into it after enjoying a few too many protein balls lol( first time I’ve ever made them)

Im reading your chats and trying to get to know everyone. I’ll be sending out some friend requests tomorrow. I have not posted my weight this week as I believed the new challenge started in March. Since I weigh in Wednesdays I’ll post next week. Hope that’s ok? I’m a little confused on where everything happens. Is it all on this main chat? Where are the challenges posted?

@micaroo4 Hope your hand wasn’t too sore after shovelling. Snow was nice and fluffy but our driveways here are icy from freezing rain this week so my back is protesting tonight . 😂

Okay have to turn in. Driving to our cottage tomorrow in snow country🙄. We get the driveway plowed but we really need to clear the roof and pathways. At least the forecast is for sun.

Have a wonderful Saturday, stick to your goals my new friends💕

    Hi SlimPossibles!
I got 4.5 miles of walking in the house yesterday. I discovered that those online in-home walking videos that say "2 Mile Walk" only yield about 1.3 miles on my fitbit. My fitbit is the oldest model, the fitbit zip, which clips on my pocket. Unlike the wrist models, it only registers steps, not arm movement. But I did my walking indoors (as much as I could tolerate before the boredom overcame me) plus 10 virtual miles on the stationary bike, and an Essentrics stretching video.
My Fitness Goal for the upcoming challenge is to do at least 5 virtual miles per day on the stationary bike to get me in shape for when I can finally break out the REAL bike.
I'm hoping to take a walk outdoors today. My road is snow covered, so I will start out with the ice cleats on my boots so I don't end up falling and wrecking my wrist again.
It was single digits this morning, but the temp has climbed all the way up to 15F and the sun is shining. It never feels as cold when the sun is shining.
