Sorry I went AWOL for awhile. Life...
Always hoping to become a bit more of a contributor on this group but there's always one crisis or another.
I find everyone's posts super inspirational when I get the chance to read them although March so far has given me little time...6 -

Good week! I'm glad you are still there and even if you can't post often, you're one of us2 -
Well, we arrived at our new house like thieves in the night right before midnight. We were on the road for 11 hours with traffic and stops. I hate driving at night through major cities!!!! (DC, Baltimore, Philadelphia) But I made it. Thanks for all your prayers and good vibes. It carried me.
While driving I got great news from my sister. The cancer was stage one and she will not need chemo or radiation. Hurray!!
I have been a bit teary today missing my house. I’ll be fine but this has been hard. Tomorrow we’re going on a hike at our favorite park(from when we lived here before) One of my best friends is coming over. That will sure help me feel better about this move.
Just had a glass of wine, listening to jazz catching up with you all feels so good. Movers arrive with the stuff on Monday.
Tomorrow I want to get on my mat and do some Pilates and be sure to drink at least 64 ounces of water.
@eggfreak So glad to hear about your mom doing better. You can do this. Sometimes all that is on our plate gives us a detour but I know you can get back on track.
@conleywood Congratulations to you on your loss and hugs to you with all that going on. You are amazing. I know when things calm down you will totally be in your groove.
@PlaneMonkey and @jugar Your visits with friends sounds wonderful. I am looking forward to those in my future.
I will be relieved to have our stuff delivered and make this house cozy with our things.
Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts.
❤️Xoxo

The week has come and gone and I didn’t weigh in this week. I won’t be home for another week so, @jugar please keep the number from last week for this and give me next week off. Then, I’ll be ready to jump back in. Thanks!3

I am so sorry, team for late weigh in
PW 222.1 lbs (I think? )

Last call for anyone wanting to report steps for Mar 6-12!
remember that for Mar 13-19 we are walking for @micki48 - looking as a team to cover the distance of her move (477 miles). We did 339 week 1 with 8 participants and we are likely down a couple by week 3... what can we achieve??? Nothing like a bit of extra motivation to get out there and push it. In all likelihood it's going to take us week 3 and 4, but don't let that stop you from giving it a little extra!
Can I please join you all in walking for Micki?
What do I do? My fitbit is charged and ready to go3 -
Happy Sunday!
I'm just getting going on the tallies -- we had rather a slow week, but that makes it easy for week 4 to be a vast improvement, right??
Sunday weigh-ins:
@wendydpromos
@deniners2
@Terytha
@BlissfulK
@graceojo9994 -
@ells_bellz Absolutely!!! Would love to have your stats. Every Sunday, report by day for the week before (Sunday to Saturday) what your step count was. You can also include any other intentional exercise you did by day and those minutes get converted to steps as well.
Some people like to post most frequently throughout the week and that works fine too..
Let me know if you have any other questions.0 -

I think I’m 95% better than last Sunday. I ate a lot of bready, cracker, mashed potato type of things this week. 😁3 -
Not our best week as a whole, but there were still some great losses this past week, and an overall gain sets us up to get an even better loss next week!
Take a look at last week's results in the links below:
Here's a sneak peek into how your team did...

Congratulations @BlissfulK @graceojo999 and @conleywoods for good losses in week 3! We had an overall gain as a team, so thanks for keeping us from going too far into the red
I'm trying to get my carcass up and moving today - it is kind of miserable outside and I'm just feeling slumpy. I am going for a walk with a friend at 5:00 (we're meeting somewhere paved!) so that should help. Meanwhile, I should put on some tunes and get moving. Kick my butt, ok?5 -

I knew it would be a gain today. Like I discussed with other MFP members, I had some vegan cheese I didn’t want to expire and made lasagna and pizza. Both use rice flour which is high in calories along with the cheese. I did not complete the calculations until after eating. One piece of lasagna is 455 calories. The pizza was also more than 400 calories a slice. So glad I’m in this challenge on MFP to see the effects of what we eat and our lifestyle in detail on how it effects our progress. I have some major work this week to see a loss for next weigh-in. Wish me luck💫4 -

Bought an air fryer. It makes delicious veggies. I'm gonna try control my hunger this week with more greens.5 -
@Terytha I haven't tried veggies in mine yet. Which ones do you recommend?2

I got more steps than I realized this week but motivation, movement, eating all dropped off by the end of week. Will be an ugly weigh-in on Tuesday (yet again!) for me.
I did give my 2 weeks notice this week which was stressful, but I will be OUT of here on April 1! It will feel good. I've started getting some recruiters reaching out on LinkedIn so hopefully I can stick to my plan and have a new job by June/July. But April is 100% breathe/relax/reunite with my healthier self. Jogging, yoga, finding what FEELS good! I do feel bad that my weigh-ins have been all over the place on here, though.6 -

So good to hear the fabulous news about your sister! What a relief. Some advice from a choral director works in moving-to-new-homes scenarios as well. "Cry when you need to, sing when you can".
I'm delighted that you're geographically closer to me in Vermont and hope to meet you in person this summer.
Love,

This is a great attitude! All the numbers are information - even if we figure out that they are "bad". You know better how to make this week work - plenty of vegetables, try to avoid the flours and other refined stuff, keep up your healthy fats and protein. Go for it!2 -
@Kali225 Your April sounds like just the breather you need. My best friend recently quit a second job and is pulling things together to start a new contract. Those gaps in between are important to set yourself up to feel strong and know what you need, even if it is a bit scary getting there. Good for you!
OK, time to get my steps and exercise pulled together...
Sunday - 9353 + 15 min Pilates, 40 elliptical
Monday - 15,873
Tuesday - 11,913 + 30 Pilates, 60 snowshoe
Wednesday - 12,835 + 45 bike
Thursday - 10,060 + 30 Pilates
Friday - 10,409 + 20 Pilates
Saturday - 10,001 + 20 Pilates, 45 bike

@Kali225 Way to go on kicking that toxic workplace to the curb. Glad to hear you've got a month to focus on Y-O-U coming up
Catching up on my steps:

3/18 - 2,205

@DD265 Great suggestion. I didn't feel up to much at all.. but I think when I do get back to movement I'll be easing in and that will be a great way to do it.
One of the weirder symptoms I'm having that I'm not used to is some vertigo issues... so that's making any movement at all unpleasant as I don't feel super stable.
Hoping to be turning the corner soon6 -

Apologies for double posting - I put the stats in quickly before going out and it's too late to edit now.
We haven't air fryer-ed vegetables either - usually just chips, or a chicken dish, and OH tried battered fish once but that didn't end well! Side dishes are definitely a struggle for us, which is why I think we so often reach for the carbs, and making something lower calorie in the air fryer would be great. I did buy an air fryer recipe book not too long ago but haven't been through it yet.
I'm pleased with my loss this week and feel like I earned it, which is always satisfying. I did indeed get a 10K done yesterday, and whilst it was a bit of a slog at points and my nervous system was completely fatigued by the end, it wasn't too hard. We only stopped once for a few seconds waiting to cross a road and did a couple of serious hills - we were running those regularly last year, but it has been a while. This 10k also came in at my second best time (the best being the race last Autumn) so I'm really happy with that. I've had a mental boost, and the longer distance will allow us to do some more interesting runs as we get lighter nights and better weather.
Plan for this week is more of the same! Maybe a little less running, as we're out all day Friday and Sunday, so will have to see what fits in. That also probably means more meals out, but I'll stick to my 5 goals where I can.5 -
Does anyone have any advice for body dysmorphia? I was feeling okay about myself and then my gym posted a video to their Instagram, in which I make an appearance. And now I'm discouraged and disgusted (there are other things contributing to this though). I don't know how to shake these thoughts4

Hoo boy! This is a big one. I swear I can put on a half pound and feel as if I am 25 pounds heavier, grosser, everything horrible. If I look at myself, I don't really agree that I look the same. Then if I eat well and use my muscles so I feel a bit hungry and strong, it goes away and I think I look fine. I don't think this will ever go away completely.
So first of all - you were feeling good about yourself because you were working out and taking care of your intake. And that feeling is TRUE! Second of all - cameras are evil and everyone looks bad to themselves at the moment. Come back to that same photo in the future and it probably won't bother you. You'll think you were looking pretty good! AND you were working on making it even better by being in the gym.
Somewhere deep in a drawer I have a picture of myself tightening the girth of a horse I was about to ride. Someone took the picture from directly behind me. I was wearing riding breeches (no hiding in those!) and in a slight squat, at a slightly awkward angle. That photo depressed me for years, even though it was quickly buried and I refused to look at it again. A couple of years ago I found it, and was amazed that I ever thought it was terrible. Sure, I was a bit rounder than I would have liked, but it was certainly not terrible and it is actually a good photo - in action, as it were.
There will always be photos of ourselves we hate. But we can feel good inside at any point in the journey towards better fitness and health - use your body, keep improving however slowly. Remember the feeling you had when someone took that photo - that is the truth. It is hard to convince ourselves, but don't let it stop you in your tracks. You felt good. You felt good. You were working out. Remember.
It also helps to think about the way you look at other people. If they are working on the journey the way you are, don't you feel like cheering them on? They are amazing for being there, even though you just know their inside feelings might be just as fragile as yours are. Well, they are cheering you on. We are cheering you on. Go Kellie!8 -
@jugar thank you for your insights, I really appreciate them!2

@PlaneMonkey So far all I've air fried are green beans and carrot chips, and both turned out lovely.
I use a teaspoon of olive oil and a healthy dash of steak spice and fry for 7 minutes at 355. Perfectly delish.
This week is an experiment. I'm going to exercise at least 30 minutes every day except Tuesday and eat veggies with dinner every day except Wednesday. Just to see how I feel by the end of the week and try for a mental reboot of sorts. This probably isn't sustainable long term but that's not the point.
Today I really didn't wanna work out because I was so tired, but I did. And that's a good start.4 -

Carrot chips sounds amazing! It's going on the grocery list!2 -
@Terytha I love your plan! Mind you, I'm not sure what a dinner without veggies might even look like -- to the point where my son calls me "Kale". Because I am what I eat. He's a brat.
OK folks! It's time for the Tuesday weigh-in and some catch-up from yesterday and today -

Great advice, thanks! I bought two heads of cabbage and two heads of cauliflowers today. Cauliflower rice dishes and cabbage salads.
I need to stay away from the flour. I like to cook, so I’ve been tempted to try many things and that’s a challenge when trying to lose weight. That’s what got me in trouble with the lasagna and pizza, lol. I was going to attempt to make vegan low carb doughnut holes tomorrow. I might have to wait after making some considerable loss 🙃4
