Another problem solved... although now I have to figure out what to do with the remaining metal.

I used my hand grinder to cut the metal to fit the side bench...

As I mentioned, I made the side bench fixed to the wall securely but the same height as the movable bench... I'm quite pleased about how well it turned out...

Boxed the ends of the benches... In yesterday's pictures, I was testing the piece for the side bench but the mobile bench was open. Now both are installed.

This is the back of the top panel of the antique headboard. You can see the stain colour on the post. I started sanding in the back so I could see how hard the wood is etc... Unless I'm mistaken, I think that is birdseye maple.. a gorgeous and relatively rare wood. If so... what a prize!!

    The back of same...

The plan is to make the headboard into a bench similar to this...

Let there be drawers!! The faces are deeper than the drawers but it works for the bench...

New vises... I'm kinda disappointed by the poor quality paint on one. My inner OCD wants to repaint it...

As you can see, the walls are more than one colour of gray... I got the paint guys to "scan" a piece of the shelving but the colour ended up much darker than I expected... maybe too dark for the walls...

OoooOOoo... shiny... It's still kinda rough and scratched but I'm okay with that.

I grabbed this metal stand out of a dumpster at work before I retired intending to use it for this purpose. Today I finally cut a piece of plywood so I can set the drill and bench grinder up...

Not bad... not bad at all...

I cleaned up, sanded and primed the window casing & trim. It needs a coat or two of white paint to finish it off.

I tried posting this yesterday. Apparently I did something wrong as it didn't get posted.

Another segment done! The next segment is on the right side of the picture... shelves to be cleared so I can paint the wall.

Some of the "spots" are knots in the plywood rather than screw holes but yeah...

I ran out of the spray primer so I used the same primer I was using for the window frames to touch up the walls...
    ukv7vjoddb3v.png

And then after walking, I painted two coats of the gray...

    dbpwo8rc41po.png

I noticed as I was painting around the shelf brackets that the wet paint was close to the same colour as the brackets... as I wished... but it dries much darker.

That's better!! Now... only one wall left to fix and paint... although I might take a break from that and do some work in the kitchen for a change of pace.

One sturdy shelf made of 2x4s and 3/4" plywood... all scrap material from a cupboard I disassembled.

The lobster trap was left under the deck by the previous owner. I found these three buoys in the woods. My wife says save them and she'll paint them up nicely. lol

I also found this soaker hose... I haven't tested it yet but it seems intact...

Both the east and west side of the property has trees. This load of twigs etc is on the west side...

    w0xf3u750sse.png

I pulled half a dozen dead trees from this spot...

    x6ru092stble.png

And dragged it all to this pile where a bunch of debris from storm damaged trees were dumped.
