@Armygirlarmyof1 Go ahead and weigh in tomorrow morning and report it...no worries...happens all the time. Let me know. I've done it myself once in a while, especially if I'm rushing to get ready for work...

Hi everyone
Thank you for having me
SW: 161 lbs
GW: 142 lbs
I was with MFP back in 2019, after I had my son and had some excess weight to lose. I believe I started at 184 lbs and got down to 133 lbs. I remember feeling good at my new weight, but it soon crept back on and I’m up to 161 lbs.
My goals for January: track my food daily, and get out for a short walk everyday. This is what helped me last time.
My weigh-in day is Friday. I’m looking forward to chatting with/supporting you all4 -

Hi! I just signed up for my first ever fitness pal group and then was assigned to Shape Shifters for the January Challenge. Glad to be here! Am I supposed to sign up for a step challenge? I already found the weigh in sheet and the habit tracker? Anything else I should know? Do we share our logged meals or anything?1

I wouldn’t call it my favourite place to walk, but i feel comfortable walking round my block. It takes me around 30 minutes.
Daily step goal: 5000
I know it’s not much, but admittedly, I’ve been very inactive for a long time, so I’m starting small.
I’ve dug out my Fitbit again, charged it up and it’s ready to go!

Please add me to January step challenge. I really don't have a favorite place to walk since in SE Wisconsin it's winter, ice, snow, rain, cold - I usually get my steps in walking around the house, riding my recumbent bike and workouts - I bowl in a league on Tuesdays
I have a fitbit and usually do challenges with a couple of friends1 -

Hi! So excited to be here. I’ve been on/off MFP for over 10 years. I struggle with binging/restriction, but have been working on moderation and sustainable changes since July and am down 43 lbs. Hit a plateau the past month (holidays) and looking to gain support/motivation. I’m excited to travel with just my husband this week for the first time since having my last baby (3 years ago) so it should be interesting. I have a history of getting derailed when out of my routine and am eager to have this challenge to keep me accountable. Thanks for including me!

Good morning Shape Shifters and welcome to the new members.
I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. I enjoyed reading my new book, though my 'mistake' was starting last night. I planned to only do 30 minutes, which was pretty silly of me to think that would work, so I went to bed 45 minutes later than I wanted. Still got my 8 hour sleep goal though, and actually for the first ever got a sleepscore of 90! That was cool.
Yesterday morning was a bit interesting. I always go out with Tinus in the morning as soon as it is light enough, so we were in the backyard around 8:15. We were there for 10 seconds when I heard someone calling out to me. Woman was yelling from her bedroom window 2 houses over, saying she was locked inside with her son and if I could please get some help. So I took Tinus inside, grabbed my phone and called the emergency line to get hold of the fire department. I walked over to her place in the meantime to get some more information.
Poor thing had been locked in a small bedroom with her young son since around 5 in the morning. The doorhandle fell off, her phone was in a different room, nobody else was home, everything was locked and she had just moved there, so nobody had a spare key. Since she was at the back of the house and not on the street side, she didn't see anyone outside until I went out with Tinus. I waited in her backyard for the fire crew to show up, which took about 15 minutes.
When the truck arrived, around 8 very sleepy looking guys poured out. It seemed a bit overkill to me, but maybe that is just a protocol thing, I have no idea. There was a porch area at the back, so it wasn't really that easy to get to her window. It was also not designed to hold people, so it wasn't super safe to just get on the porch roof either. They ended up using a metal plank on the seemingly strongest part of the porch roof to divide the weight. Then they had a long stick with a tool taped to end that she could use to open the door. And they had the lightest member (that's not saying much, they were all heavier than me I think ) go up to get the tool over to her.
It all worked out fine thankfully. When she came outside I saw that she was also very pregnant, so I am pretty sure that was one of the longest and most uncomfortable 3,5 hours of her life! So thanks to Tinus, we got to help people again. So useful having a cat to walk.
Happy Tuesday everyone6 -

@pupowl - What an amazing story, so glad you were able to help your neighbor.
Selfie that Jason took of us and my Mom and Stepfather Christmas Eve service.
We put Jason on the bus to the bowl game in Houston yesterday afternoon. it was kind of strange having an empty house again this morning.

Hello everyone. Hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday season!!! We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve and I worked 12 1/2 hours on Christmas. Ive been working a ton lately because we are short staffed and no one wants to come in and pick up shifts so its been me and my 70 year old co worker picking up the slack, ugh. But coming into the new year I want to step back a smidge and work on getting back into my workouts.2

Hope everyone is doing well! Recovering from the flu has been much slower than I'd like. I start to feel better and have tried to get out for a walk a few times but my energy is not 100% yet and still congested. Yesterday had a bit of a relapse so took it easy yesterday and today. Hoping to feel good enough to get back to my 3 mile walks soon!

I hope you feel better soon @ac204. I’ve been hearing how scarce some of the medication has become due to all the cases of flu, winter colds, etc. Sorry to hear you’ve had lingering symptoms but it’s good you recognized them coming on and got some rest.
I’ve enjoyed the pictures and stories — Thanks for sharing!
@Pupowl - You really are the neighborhood heroine! I’m glad you were able to respond to your neighbor in distress — again!!3 -

Hey all
Hope you don’t mind me checking in, just for my own accountability really (I’m recently new to the team )
I just started using MFP again a couple of days ago. I stayed within my allowance on Tuesday and was over by 100 calories on Wednesday. I’m fine with this though, as my daily calorie intake over the past year was out of control.
Today I took the dreaded “before” photos. When I was with MFP back in 2019, taking progress photos really helped keep me motivated.
I’m looking forward to feeling healthy and confident again.
I hope everyone is well6 -
