Hi all! The week is going fine as I’m doing the things however the scale is doing it’s usual up and down. I think some water retention is happening from dinner last night. I need to cut back in my nut consumption but overall am hanging in there. Down a couple of pounds for the month so I’m hoping to continue that. Now if the weather would break it would be nice as I much prefer being out in nature than being inside for workouts. Too soon for that I guess.3

My name is Mary, 65 from Pennsylvania.
Been MIA for a few months but still logging in everyday since I started MFP 5/14/21.
Took a while to find you again since my absence. Thank you again @baconslave for keeping this going.
Unfortunately lost my mojo and gained a lot back but not all Thank God! Need to get back on track and focused. I bought a NEW to me, gently used, Commercial PreCor EFX 835 Elliptical. It was delivered the beginning of November, as others here know I wore my previous 10+ year old one out from my extensive workouts. Stopped using it mid November to get my Christmas shopping done earlier than my norm. I was planning go start back up a week ago but had a GI bug and very weak. I restarted today but very slow at 45 minutes and 3 miles compared to my 3 hour historical workout sessions. I will MAYBE workup to it again.
Heaviest weight 255 lbs, twice. :-(
9/14/20-255 lbs
5/14/21-232.2 lbs
4/6/22- 147.6 lbs (107.4 lbs lost) I did NOT have a surgery. Did Keto.
8/1/22- 167.2 lbs
12/1/22-198 lbs
1/1/23- 213.4 lbs
1/2/23- 213.4 lbs
1/3/23- 207.4 lbs
1/4/23- 205.8 lbs
1/5/23- 205.8 lbs
1/6/23- 201.4 lbs
1/7/23- 202.4 lbs
1/8/23- 204.4 lbs
1/15/23-202.4 lbs Elliptical Interval setting, did 120 minutes yesterday & today, 8.5 & 8.1 miles. I think the problem a few days ago with only being able to do 45-47 minutes was that I wore a short sleeved T shirt instead of my usual tank top. Even though I had a fan on, I think I got too warm and it tired me out. Had no problem yesterday & today.
1/19/223-199.4 lbs Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes for 9+ miles. Making ham tonight so probably a uptick to come. At least it will be water weight from the sodium and then a whoosh to come next week?!
1/20/23-200.2 lbs Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes for 9.92 miles
1/21/23-203.4 lbs Work day
1/22/23-200.2 lbs Elliptical Interval setting 150 minutes for 10.05 miles
Love my, new to me, gently used Commercial Precor Elliptical I got the beginning of November.

Indoor bike trainer Sat was only 20 min but glad I got something done. Sunday was group fitness then bowling. I'll be getting in some shoveling the driveway this morning then strength training at lunch if my trainer doesn't cancel. Still hitting my protein. Made keto keto protein blueberry muffins and keto chocolate granola yesterday. Still need to make something else but can't decide what LOL. Oncology follow up check up today. Will get yelled at for Xmas weight gain.3 -

I stepped on the scale today and am down 3 pounds from the beginning of the month so I’ll take the small wins. I’m in that spot where I don’t have much to go so I’m not surprised at the slowness of this process. I will say it is frustrating as hell to fast for good stretches, cut out artificial sweeteners and reduce carbs drastically for this result but hey, I’m moving the right way and am feeling pretty decent. Now to trust the process and not focus on the small stuff.5

I shoveled twice Monday then went to the trainer's. Dr appt got canceled. Did some ab work yesterday. Will be shoveling again after work today but we're expecting less this time. My blueberry muffins tasted a little bland the other day, I'll try warming them up this morning to see if that helps (and maybe a little butter lol). Spin class tomorrow.1 -
I received a phone call from my podiatrist yesterday ... He tells me that I need a 3rd surgery my ankle is still broken he wants to put another plate and add a rod to it .. and that I should have never been in a plaster cast ....my 2nd surgery was from a Dr I didn't know while my Dr was on vacation ... Surgery is happening on 1/31 at 8am ughhhhhhh8

Happy Friday everybody! I have not been perfect at hitting all 3 goals of consistent logging, no food after 8 and protein over 80g every single day, but it has been awfully close! Most importantly I am aware and I am paying attention.
The days I hit over 100g of protein are the days that it is easiest to not eat after 8. I should be reigning in my carbs, but they are at usually under 150g which is a baby step start.

This weekend I started having some carb cravings but stayed on plan. I have snacked in the evenings on nuts and need to break that habit. It likely will lead to no loss for the week. I’ve been feeling more hungry but think some stress at work may be triggering that. I’m sleeping well and have stayed away from caffeine in the afternoons which hasn’t affected my energy. It has felt pretty steady the last two weeks. I am getting some dizzy spells so am staying hydrated and trying to make sure I salt things. My carbs were double today from a large salad with fruit at lunch and spaghetti squash at dinner. Tomorrow I’ll bump protein and drop carbs fairly low. I think I will also prep some breakfast egg bites for the week to have on hand. I can’t believe this month is almost over! I need to get some measurements to see if there are any changes outside of weight. I just ordered a new scale with additional geeky measurements that I’m excited to try.3

Saturday was the annual city soup stroll. 34 restaurants participated and I think I tried 9 or 10. Lots of walking but also lots of sodium. Group fitness class was 10 body weight exercises doing AMRAP (as many reps as possible) in 45 min. It was a pyramid from 10 reps to 1, then back to 10. A bit tedious and if I decide to duplicate this at home I'll swap some thing out and rearrange the order of others. My legs are quite sore today from squats followed by squat jumps LOL.
I took a nap yesterday instead of food prep so will have to do that after work today.
@taylok23 I'm right there with you with feeling hungrier, work stress and needing to limit nuts. My trainer just got that scale and it's really cool.1 -
Well as the month closed out, I ended up down just over 4 pounds. It’s been a while since I lost each week but really monitoring macros has helped and I haven’t felt deprived. I had a few processed carbs but for the most part are quite clean all month and only had a few cravings. My energy seems to be improving and my sleep has been decent. I’m hoping stress in the coming weeks doesn’t stall my progress. What’s the plan for February everyone?2
