@trooworld pepper palace is a franchise store that deals with hot sauces, additives and salsas. They even have sample available. I tried a drop of a bottle of THE END FLATLINERS. I had to sign a waiver before I could try a sample. Just so you know it was Hot. However I didn't let anyone in the store know. Lol1

Hi! My name is Jen. I’m 54 live in North Carolina and I have 2 grown sons.
I have battling weight issues most of my life. I have tried many different types of plans. But I find the support from MFP works the best. My goals include: losing the extra weight and feeling better about myself and feeling healthier. I’m looking forward to getting to know all you and reaching our goals together. 😀3 -
Good evening!
Sorry for the copious posting today. I have been a pretty quiet group member for the past few months and I wanted to fix that! Hope you don’t get sick of me.
@19shmoo69 oh boy! Good for you! I love hot sauce but draw the line at sweating and tears lol. I do love how artisan hot sauce seems to be the microbrew of the 2020s! Got quite a few new small-batch varieties for Christmas to try.
@Jen_967 welcome!
@micaroo4 thank you for the encouragement! Actually that’s a great way to see it. Reps and sets makes it seem very reasonable and attainable.
I know my fitness goal is not very impressive at the moment. I’m averaging around 12,000 steps a day during the work week but having been sick the last two weeks has really zapped my energy. I’m going to ease back into it.4 -
@trooworld Hubby and I started a tradition together to have prime rib and fixings on New years day because, we want to start out the new year eating well. The last 2 yrs though, hubby went to the hospital on new years day near death both times. This year he has been sick so, I put the prime rib in the freezer. Lol, maybe V-day or something.
Hey y'all, I'm trying to set some goals here and the main thing I keep coming up with is I've noticed I have no follow through. Starting is easy but, I always seem to flake out about about half way through. I really got to see this on the habit tracker because I flake out about half way through the month. This was a clarifying moment.
1- My main goal is "follow through".
Next, I want to be able to cut my own toenails without getting out of breath or feeling like I'm about to throw up because my stomach is getting squished.
2- Cut my own toenails!
I'm very unhappy with how I look. I haven't battled with my weight all of my life but, I have for the last 20 yrs. This has wreaked havoc on my self confidence, self esteem etc. It has caused depression and with other things. I just don't want to go anywhere. I don't want anyone to see me. I'd rather do my socializing on social media. I used to be a happy go lucky kind of girl now, I'm the very opposite. So....
3-Love myself again.
Last but not least, I want to look good in my clothes again. I bought a bunch of super cute clothes last year and now I'm 20 lbs heavier.
4- Look good in my clothes again.
Now, I need to set a plan for action! I can't just dive in, I have to take it slow so I don't burn out.
No zero days, I worked out for 20 min so I would reach my 10,000 step goal.
Sorry, I didn't mean to get so "depressive"...

Hi and welcome to all the new members.
Drews Anna, I hope your hubby is feeling better. I didn’t find anything depressive in your post. I appreciate the honesty in it, most of us will find something that fits us too.
Shmoo, I like this idea of pepper palace. I hesitate in buying new hot sauces, because I don’t want stuck with something that has no flavor only heat. Taste tests would be helpful.
Meg, you and I both will be posting. I promise to not to get sick of it 😊
Congrats Shmoo on your loss posted above2 -
Hi, I'm Lisa, live in Florida, married 31 years, 2 adult children- 1 lives here- looking for that first job. The other is in college. I've been in this group for a couple of years now and really enjoy the camaraderie and support it provides. I've struggled with my weight since college and have taken weight off successfully several times over the years. Now that I'm at a more "mature" age, it's become harder.
2022 wound up being a no loss year for me. I have a bunch of excuses about it. I'm just going to push those aside and get started again. Determined to have some results this year!
@Katmary71 - hug received! Thank you! Here's one for you {{HUG}}

@19shmoo69 @gemwolf110 @hlnnan @shaunarlr83 congrats on getting onto the leaderboard! A special shout-out to @FushiaKat for staying in the green for all of December AND making her goal! Woot woot!!!
@megnolia82 Thank you! I do the all-or-nothing mentality, too, it's a hard one to break but I'm working on it. Great goals! I don't think they are silly at all. No need to apologize for posting, the more the merrier! I think anytime anyone focuses on their health/fitness, it's impressive. They could be just sitting on the couch not doing anything but instead, they choose to work on progress.
@minstrelofsarcasm There is one more milestone: @FushiaKat reached her ultimate goal in December!!! Yay, FushiaKat!!!
@19shmoo69 LOL that's funny you had to sign a waiver. I like the name, "The End Flatliners" sounds ominous!
@Jen_967 Hi and welcome to the Slimpossibles, Jen! Looking forward to getting to know you.
@DrewsAnna That sounds like a nice tradition. Oh dear about your DH! I'm sorry he's sick this year, too. I wish him better health in 2023 and yes, prime rib for V-Day sounds perfect! I love your goals and can identify with them. The cut my own toenails one hits me hard, it's nearly impossible for me to do that. You weren't being depressive to me. Hugs to you.
Hi all. My wins have been slim pickings lately. I hope to report some good wins tomorrow. I have some goals today: track my food, drink 50 oz of water, and do 30 mins of intentional exercise. Let's do this!!!
MY NO-ZERO DAY WIN FROM YESTERDAY: I intentionally drank 25 oz of water yesterday.
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."2 -
Morning everyone!
Ugh. I’m on day 13 of a horrible virus. Can’t wait for this to be over. BUT I did my two squats, 2 push-ups and 2 crunches this morning. Little win!
Today I walked from my bed to my recliner in the living room and that may be just about enough.
Fingers crossed for some relief today! I Hope you all have a great one!
@DrewsAnna excellent goals! I wish you and your hubby a year of peace and good health.

I wanted to jump on here sooner to share this! It was actually sent to me by my Beachbody Coach but I thought it would be more suitable for our No Zero Days Challenge!!! If you look closely, zoom in, or print it out…there are numbers in each letter and all 365 days of this coming year are there!! What a fun way to keep track.
I think I’m going to categorize my activity by color, for example yesterday I hiked so #1 will be green, gym days will be another color, and so on and so forth. By the end of the year I can look and see just how much I did each month!!!
Also I didn’t get to sit and put all of my goals to text but I did hit them all yesterday. Tonight I will have a full catch up session!!! As always sending so much love to you all. Y’all helped me come out of 2022 in such a better place than I went into it!!!5 -
Happy New Year! My name is missy and I live with my bichon and 3 huskies. I work full time going back to school at the end of the month. I started gaining weight when I started my current job about 10 years ago. Went from a very physical job to a sedentary job that consumed my life for years. Getting back to a healthier me this year.3

A very quick check in tonight. As is evidenced, by my way, in this week, I had too much food enjoyment over the near year. I am back on track, eating wise. I went to my spin class this morning, and the instructor nearly killed me, she had been gone for two weeks and had a lot of energy.🤣. I then went over to my daughter and son-in-law‘s house, we went tobogganing with the grand kiddos, then they wanted to go play in the playground. We walked across the field, which is about three blocks long, and sank about a foot deep into the snow, the whole way, my legs are killing me, and I can hardly keep my eyes open. Playing in a playground in 1 to 2 feet of snow is a very different experience, I am just ready to drop.
I will catch up more tomorrow, I hope everybody had a very happy new year.2 -
@vegan4lyfe2012 I love your cards, thank YOU! I love your salsa collection!
@happysquidmuffin Let us know how Avatar is!
@AmbersWay It sounds like you're making take-out work, way to go! Hope your anniversary was wonderful! I love you're both removing yourself from stressful situations and decluttering, no more space for crap right?!
@broncobuddee You're hardcore on the hot sauce! I didn't know you could order above the highest either but I'm a moderate heat person.
@19shmoo69 I've never even heard of a pepper palace but I don't go real hot. I just saw your explanation, was it in malls? I vaguely remember a place but don't recall if it was just peppers.
@megnolia82 You should print up your intro post for a reminder if you aren't feeling strong, it's written very powerfully! I like your goals as well, adding one of each exercise a day is perfect, I did one once that started at 100 and went up 5 a day and was sore and mad by day 3! That's a long time being sick, hope you get over this soon!
@trooworld My family does pork and sauerkraut as well, I was at my brother's last night. And mashed potatoes and Boston cream pie, I felt so lousy I'm happy to be back to healthy food today but took some pork and kraut. I love the No More Zero Years meme and post about it!
@91shmoo69 @gemwolf110 @hlnnan Way to go team!
@FushiaKat @19shmoo69 @shaunarlr83 Way to go on the whole month, such a tough month to do it too!
@Jen_967 Hi Jen, we look forward to getting to know you as well!
@DrewsAnna Yikes I don't blame you about leaving the prime rib in the freezer! I hope your huband is feeling better soon. I agree about taking it slow and maybe make smaller goals so you can look back and see how many things you've achieved. It feels good to know you followed through especially when you're feeling that is your weak area. I used to procrastinate like crazy but respond well to hitting goals that aren't impossible so I've played with that a lot the last years.
@Cornanda So if we turn around “2022 wound up being a no loss year for me” you just said you maintained and didn't gain for the year, right? I agree with your thinking, just get started again and don't sweat it, you got this!
@shaunarlr83 I love the idea of the different colors in that, great idea!
@laurelfit57 Haha your instructor is probably fueled by Christmas cookies too and that's why she has so much energy! I'm just kidding though sometimes my workouts after overeating are the best ones. Nice reminder to get back on track struggling to keep up, I'm feeling it right now too!
Hi team! Boy on the 31st we had a huge storm and the power was off from that evening until the next morning. Bill and I had a movie date planned but his power went down an hour before mine so total bust! Then the guy across the street set off major fireworks (streets are flooding and professional fireworks are going off across the street) so the cats were terrified. I have a big oak tree over my bedroom and the heavier branches are cabled so they won't fall on the house but there was a lot coming down still so I went to sleep in the spare bedroom. I went to bed once he stopped then the fire alarms started chirping at 4AM, dealing with them in the dark when I'm not supposed to climb ladders (I can't reach a few of them) wasn't fun and no matter what I did another would go off. I thought I solved it but went to my brother's for our good luck dinner and came home to no kitties and alarm chirping! Gah! Where's a machine gun when you need it?! So my brother came by and we changed all the batteries in all of them and took the one that wouldn't shut up even with new batteries down and replaced it. I finally had a quiet night's sleep! Back on track today, I felt so lousy last night I was grateful to be alone today to get back on track.
No Zero Days- did a full workout earlier, had a good night's sleep, and made a healthy chicken and zucchini stir fry for dinner.5 -
Hello everyone! I'm Bethanie; I'm 38 years old and live in Central NC. I'm a full time 911 telecommunicator and work PT at a grocery store. I'm married (8.5 years) and have a bonus son who is 18 and a freshman at UNC-Charlotte.
Currently I work night shift (6p-6a) and have been on night shift for close to 4 years. I'll most likely be back to day shift in a couple weeks as one has taken a position in a different department. I'm hoping the switch back to a more normal schedule will help me improve my health. I'm also hoping to quit the PT gig; I've paid off a lot of debt which has helped my anxiety tremendously.
My weight was normal until my first marriage began to decline. Then a divorce, a PCOS diagnosis (with no guidance on how to handle it), starting medicine for my depression/anxiety, and Hypothyroidism, totaled a 100lbs weight gain over about 8 years.
I've been super slack but love the 'No Zero Days' mentality that I found here, in our little corner of the interwebs. I managed to keep up with my supplements this holiday season and only gained a couple pounds.

@shaunarlr83 Thank you for sharing that. I will print it.
@Meg I hope you feel better soon. Good job on getting in some exercise.
Welcome Lisa & Missy 😊
Congratulations @FushiaKat and all those who made the leader board. How exciting!!
@trooworld I applaud your water drinking goals. Im struggling with it. I always forget to add it too my diary too.

No Zero Days
Jan 1 - finally cleaned up my kitchen
Jan 2 - drank water on purpose (18oz) and beat my 10K step goal
Step Update
Jan 1 - 6358 (2.77 miles)
Jan 2 - 10746 (4.57 miles)2 -
@laurelfit57 I’m exhausted just reading that. It must be fun though.
Welcome to the group Bethany.
@Katmary71 that was some craziness, no lights and fire alarms going off. I would have just beat it with a broom. 😂
Today’s update
No zero day(s):
I made brownies and didn’t touch any! If thats not an achievement!
I have a plate of almond (my fave), pistachio, cheese and thyme, untouched by me! Miracles do happen! I just keep saying, it’s not worth it.
I started a once a week course with a friend which also makes me be accountable. The instructor is nice and patient, so will be working on sticking with it.
Rambling ahead:
I haven’t touched bread or pasta for over a week. Since last Tuesday, I am down 6.6 lbs. I’m not doing any particular exercise besides housework and steps (still under 10k, all rain here, so staying indoors). I have been working on my meals. My zucchini lasagna, yesterday was beef stew with no potatoes. I use cups instead of bowls, so I eat less and tell myself if I am still hungry I can get more.
My breakfast is the same everyday for a week to make it easier to log. My snacks have been greek yogurt or oatmeal, which I never thought I’d enjoy.
No bread and sticking to 1200ish calories is working for me. It’s the bread! As soon as I reintroduced it, weight loss slowed to almost a stop. So far I am not crying from leaving it behind 🫣 slightly grouchy though. Everyone knows I’m off the bread 😂

Hey everyone!
Just a quick check in. Had a productive day, I helped my son clean his room - he’s 7 - and it was an all day job. It was also the first day I’ve stayed vertical for so many hours so I think that’s a great sign. Having some trouble resting tonight, hence the 1am post. 😛
I’m very happy with my eating today. I didn’t track calories but I just ate like a regular person with a healthy food relationship. You know, there have been a lot of days I wouldn’t want anyone to see what I eat out of embarrassment. Like I could easily eat 12 mini chocolate bars in a day around Halloween because I would have one or two every time I walked past the box, spread over 18 hours) But I would never dream of letting anyone see me eat like that. Today I could have live-streamed my full day and everything I put in my mouth and had nothing to be embarrassed about. So that’s a win! Haha.3 -
⚖️WEIGH IN⚖️
Weigh day Monday
Previous weight - 181.6
Current weight - 183.8
Sorry I didn’t get this in officially on Monday.3 -
Quick check in this morning. Yesterday was my inventory day at work, so I started work at 4:00am and worked until 3:00pm. Long day. It's also end of quarter and end of year for my payroll tasks, which I will start working on today. I'm going in early again. For right now, fitness has taken a back seat. I'm walking every day, but have not yet implemented my morning workout.
-Mica5 -
@megnolia82 I hope you feel better soon. Great job with the food!
@shaunarlr83 That is so cool, thanks for sharing! Great job hitting your goals. Hugs!
@Jen_967 Congrats on the loss, Jen!
@laurelfit57 I am in the same boat. If today's weigh-in was my weekly weigh-in, I'd be in real trouble. Tobogganing with the grandkids sounds so much fun!
@Katmary71 That sounds delicious. My husband nixed our New Year's Day meal, he talked me into turkey burgers and fries lol. So, bad luck for us all year lol. I hope you are feeling better today. Thanks! I thought I would give a little more explanation for people. It's been raining off and on for days here, too. Supposed to rain more this week. I hate neighborhood fireworks! They do that here, too, and Daisy hates them, she barks at them. Your fire alarm situation sounds like a nightmare, I'm glad your brother lives close enough to come help. Great no-zero wins!
@AmbersWay Ugh I was doing so well with drinking enough water and then it slacked and I'm back to where I was before, not drinking water. I am determined to get back to it! Not touching the brownies after making and smelling them is indeed an achievement, bravo! Wow, great loss. I've always heard that food is 80% of weight loss and you are proving it right!
Hi all. I had a pretty good day yesterday, it was certainly a productive day! We cleaned and organized the house taking 6-8 bags of my clothes to the Goodwill for donation. I can actually utilize my closet now, before it was like an overgrown clothing forest where it was so dense, you couldn't go into the forest and get clothes. Now, it's all organized. And I cleaned the kitchen blinds, each one by hand. I am embarrassed to say that they hadn't been cleaned in the 3 years that we have lived here because I didn't know how to clean them. But I watched a YouTube video and got some degreaser spray and they were totally easy to clean!
MY NO-ZERO DAY WIN FROM YESTERDAY: I tracked my food and cleaned/organized the house for 5 hours. I only ate half of my gyro and ordered a side salad instead of fries with it.
My phrase for the year: "Every choice is another chance to change my health for the better."2 -
Good morning. Happy Tuesday!
Username: lrjogger1
Weigh-in day: Tuesday
Previous weight - 177.2
Current weight - 172.2
Thank you to everyone for your transparency. As I read your posts I find many things that I can relate to and inspire me to become the best healthy version of me.
@megnolia82 - I understand the whole “ate like a regular person”. My relationship with food is frequently poor and would cause embarrassment if others knew. I’m proud of you. Kudos for your win of healthy eating.
@AmbersWay - nice work resisting the snacks, bread and pasta!! I love the idea of using cups instead of bowls for portion control. thank you for sharing that.
@bethanie0825 - working 12 hour shifts as a 911 tele-communicator is no easy job. Thank you for what you do! I just learned about “no-zero” days and am incorporating them into my healthy lifestyle.
@laurelfit57 - I love spin class, especially when the instructors can motivate me to workout hard! I’m not at a gym right now because of my work/school schedule, but I will again when school is out for summer. For now I’m exercising at home.
My goals this year include eating more vegetables, tracking food, drinking more water, exercise 4 x week, & journaling. I set these goals for myself because I want 2023 to be the year that I get to my goal weight (142) and MAINTAIN it. I have been successful in the past with losing weight when I put in the effort, but I struggle to maintain it. I’m hoping that these goals will help me create habits to maintain my loss for years to come and have a healthier relationship with food. I seem to have an all or nothing mentality, I’m either in weight loss mode or pig-out mode. 😳
My no-zero wins for Sunday and Monday:
Jan 1:
-ate butternut squash
-2 mile walk with my dog Prescott
-drank 8 glasses of water
-tracked my food
Jan 2:
-ate my vegetables
-drank 3 glasses water
-journaled
-tracked my food

Meg, you did great! I know how those candy bars can get you. I had my moments when something I liked was around, I’d keep snacking. I think the group and accountability is helpful.
Troo, I don’t know why getting water in is such a challenge besides cold weather doesn’t make it as appealing. I see I am not alone on the cleaning. I’m doing my closets today and marie kondo would be proud. No joy no joy goodbye 😂
I’m so happy that my eating plan is working. It’s extremely encouraging to see the lbs go. I’m on a medication that first list rapid weight gain and it’s true! It flew on but here I am determined to get it under some type of control. Now to get more steps and water and I’ll be a happy camper.
@lrjogger1 congrats on the loss! I think I was matched with the perfect group, I find so many common points. I’m struggling not to type me too on every post. It’s nice to see.3 -
@19shmoo69 – The hot sauces my son got me were all from a Pepper Palace in Virginia. I’ve only been to the one in Chicago. Good for you for not letting them see you sweat with that Flatliners! That’s crazy you had to sign a waiver! I’m so jealous!
@megnolia82 – Hugs, lady! I’m feeling the same way. And I’m an all-or-nothing person, too. We can work on it and we CAN do this!
@AmbersWay – Anxiety is a you-know-what. Just know we are all in the same boat, rowing in the same direction. Nice job on your No Zero Days and staying off the bread!
@trooworld – Nice job on only one dinner serving! Eating multiple servings is definitely something I’m working on stopping.
@shaunarlr83 – Thanks for the graphic and I love how you’re going to color code it! Stealing your idea!
@Katmary71 & @trooworld – Be glad you don’t live where I do…it’s not fireworks, but shotguns getting fired off!
Like @Cornanda I ended 2022 the same as I started. I have been trying to think long and hard about my 2023 goals, but I have been sidetracked by debilitating anxiety about having to fly to Virginia on Thursday. I have not flown in over 25 years. It’s not the airports or finding my way around. It’s the actual LEAVING THE GROUND that I have an unnatural terror of. I looked at my FitBit this morning. Shows I fell asleep around 3:30am and woke up around 7:30…but I had ZERO deep sleep. I don’t even remember actually getting any dream time, either. All I could think about was flying and trying to keep myself from crying. Ok. Enough about my phobia. Back to 2023 goals. I’m going to ruminate on them today and post them later this evening along with a new mantra for this year.

That is a crazy difference in one week for me! I’ll take it! 🏃♀️
Still working out like a boss. Finally had my 2nd free personal trainer session today. Turns out my BF% is down to 23% - a lot better than I thought! We took lots of measurements. I have already put on some muscle in just 2 months of consistent effort. Avatar 2 was definitely cool in 3D. And it’s just such a good movie! I loved it. 🐬
Shauna I am stealing your idea too because it’s a great one. I printed out that page and I’ll use it to keep track of days I closed my exercise ring, and gym days. Maybe outdoor exercise days when it’s warm.
When one door closes, another door opens. 🚪 When some of the plans I had for work failed, I ended up getting an offer to work for my old “boss” again the very next day. Got my application & resume sent in Friday. It’s an internal move so I kinda just have to go through all the motions to get officially re-hired to that position. And eventually I’ll be full time again in the same office.
TLDR: I’m a gym 🐀 and I ❤️ it, and life is 👍🏻😎

@bethanie0825 Great job on keeping up with your supplements! I love the No Zero Days too! You had a great last two days as well!
@AmbersWay Great job on not eating the brownies, that would be really hard! Sounds like you're doing great at avoiding food that is setting you back, glad it's helping!
@megnolia82 Sounds like a perfect day, way to go! I'd be embarrassed if people saw me at times too.
@micaroo4 Walking every day is still awesome, keep it up! That is a very long shift!
@trooworld Wow that's some serious decluttering, can you come here next?! Now you got me thinking about the last time I cleaned my blinds and I don't remember doing it in years, thanks a lot! I'll check out YouTube if I decide to rectify that!
@lrjogger1 All your goals sound like things you can do, I hope this is the year you get there AND master maintaining!
@vegan4lyfe2012 Oh no, I'm so sorry to hear about your flying phobia, huge hug to you! Twenty five years is a long time, were you nervous the last time or is your fear new? How long is the flight? I hope you master this and it goes well but I get struggling with sleeping because of it.
@happysquidmuffin Wow that is a big difference, way to go!Those are great results!
Hi Slimpossibles! I just got home from decorating banker boxes to go in stores to collect Valentine's for Seniors in our town, I have a few in the trunk to drop off the next few days. I'm super happy as I've been trying to get my neighbor to go to the charity stuff with me as I knew she'd like it and she cancelled all last year at the last minute because of anxiety (hasn't been out much between COVID and her husband dying) and she finally came and met me there as I was picking up another member, she had a great time and even cried at some of the cool things we do and signed up and is dropping off boxes too so I'm real happy for her. I know how hard that first step is when you haven't been around strangers in a long time. Aside of that worked out and bought supplies for tonight, totally on track with everything.
No Zero Days- did full workout, ate under calories. Didn't go for taco Tuesday and didn't touch the cookies for volunteers and they smelled amazing and were white chocolate chip macadamian which I love!3 -
Jan 3 check in
Another good eating day. And I did my 3 squats, 3 push-ups, 3 crunches.
5 -
@vegan4lyfe2012 I hope you have a beautiful, easy and safe flight.
@happysquidmuffin Congrats on that loss and the new position at work.
@Katmary71 I love your charity work and how sweet that your neighbor joined in. I’m sure it will be a huge benefit for her and the charity ❤️. Your post made my heart happy and a smile that almost hurts. I haven’t been out on the town doing any projects since my health issues, so hearing about yours makes me so happy. Keep up the amazing work! Also, way to go on your no zero days!!!!
@megnolia82 well done on another great day!1 -
Tuesday update
No zero day: I finished 4 drawers and folding/hanging a pile of clothes.
Disorganization and clutter gives me anxiety. So I’m pushing myself to get things in order. I feel like I lost and got behind the last 5 years (health issues). Although things were cleaned, things weren’t managed.
Another goal I should add: to find my way to recover from the trauma of a horribly botched (myomectomy) surgery scandal that was an avalanche of continuous disasters. It was a twilight zone episode, as was the court case. So, if I post too much about my health, that’s why.
On the bright side, my son entered Med school and is doing well due to his experience with me. The poor kid spent his teens taking care of me. Proud mom moment ❤️5
