What a day - I had a long drive for a lot of hours with a new group I'm playing with, but with the smallest amount of rehearsal for the time invested. There were photos involved, which always makes me grumpy. Hopefully the next time there will be more actual work done!
I have not been as diligent lately with the No Zero concept, but I have been doing at least one thing daily. Today I might not make it. Lunch was healthy - that's about the best I can say! Hopefully between now and bedtime I'll do a short Pilates or breathing session. That would feel about right.
I hope you are all having a non-zero Sunday - I love the enthusiasm for green March!6 -

Yesterday 's win was I got hungry
after dinner but snacked on veggies. I have also worked out 3 days in a row...which is definitely a record for 2023. I am going to try so so so hard for a green March.🍀I am going to take measurements next weekend. My lower belly feels big. My pants are tight, but I think my arms and back are looking good.6 -
Happy Sunday, everyone. It feels good to be here catching some inspiration and support. Thanks for being here!
I, too like the sound of a green March. It'll probably take me a bit more than Irish luck but I'll try! I can just imagine how grumpy you got, Liselyn, not having enough work time *as well as* a photo shoot! Yowza. I'm currently wearing my fleece snow-themed-PJ bottoms instead of my jeans because they're a tad short as well as tight. Ugh - dislike that feeling! I'll be back in my "work bathing suit" (H2O-wear is a great company for chlorine-resistant suits for those in the market for one). I like that one can purchase the "tankini" style and mix and match sizes top and bottom. The shorts I get for that are the mid-thigh type, which feels more professional than a standard one-piece suit. It's at least more "modest". Oh, when will my grandmothers get out of my head?!
We're about to eat a dinner with fish and veggies. Lunch after church consisted of a 4-oz hamburger and some fries. I also ate some sweets during coffee hour so, the day is pretty much shot. I'll do better tomorrow at work, I'm sure.
Good start to the week tomorrow...I know...technically, we start the week here on Sunday. Here we go!7 -

** Huge shoutout to @lindamtuck2018 for surviving dental work without the liberation of ice cream, and for staying grounded when it comes to that funky number on the scale. You may not feel like you earned a win this week, but you're a warrior, and everyone should know it.

We snuck into 3rd place for week 3 - and stayed in the green as a team! Our wonderful top 3 losers @CarolAnnM2 @eggfreak and @adrimango helped us through Even though we as a team only lost 0.4 pounds, that is still green. Let's keep that going as we gear up for green March! We're now building weigh-ins that will happen in March, so track, log, move, and be awesome!
But first, let's get week 4 all tied up with a ribbon.
Sunday - Monday weigh-ins due:
@ells_bellz
@BlueSkyNomad
@nightfeeding1
@CarolAnnM2
@MoonlitMuse
@cleaneater80
Thanks!3 -

😃 Gearing up for Green March! I will stay diligent with weighing and measuring.3 -
Did my first BurpeeGirl workout this morning. She switches the moves super often so it will take me awhile to get it down but it got my heart rate up and my body moving. I'm only working 2 days this week and have declared it Wellness Week. I have a salt cave session scheduled for later, a massage on Friday, a therapy session and am seeing two friends this week.5

Happy Monday! I am enjoying my 3 day weekend (President's Day in the States). I took a few minutes to write my Why for March and my How. I really had the motivation in February but between illness and holidays, that didn't happen. I feel really good about March. I am working on my exercise and meal plan for the week. While I am not perimenopausal yet, I know it is important to start working on habits now. I am going to try three solid meals a day, 10 hour window, no snacks. My fitness goal is to move my body every single day.8

Today is a lovely day here in SW Missouri so I decided to get my bike out and clean it up ready for spring / summer. Well my neighbour was doing the same and asked me if I wanted to go for a ride this afternoon. Yes I do!
So I just completed an 8.8 mile bike ride. @adrimango I am classing this as workout #2 for the week ☺️6 -
@LoraineGB Nice!!! I did a BurpeeGirl workout today but am still aiming for 3 trips to the gym mostly to help get me in the habit of going.5

Understood ☺️. I still might try and match it 😉

@adrimango I keep reading "BurpeeGirl" and feeling slightly headachy - my least favourite exercise!! I love how you and @LoraineGB are going at it these days. Fantastic - and outdoors on a bicycle! Wow.
I got a good workout in late this afternoon (dinner was late!) and will now hop on the exercise bike and watch the silly raccoon show out the window. This time of year, it seems like there are swarms of them. They chow down under the bird feeder and waddle about. They are quite hilarious, and their little highways in the snow are everywhere.
@KellyBgetsfit you are on the daily move-your-body program too, and that is great. Even if you can only squeeze in a few reps or something short, it is always worth it. It will help you through the peri- and real thing menopause, too. Moving more, moving well, and keeping strong make a huge difference.
A few more numbers due for Sunday - Monday:
@ells_bellz (I know you weighed in just a couple of days ago, so if you want to switch days that's fine!)
@BlueSkyNomad
@nightfeeding1 and @MoonlitMuse you both missed last week! Hope you are able to get back this week
Tuesday tomorrow - let's do some planning No weigh-ins are due, so we can work up some good strategies for Green March and continue no zero days.4 -
My week has been ok so far. Doing an up and down movement so far this week on the scale, but eating has been good overall.
I realized how much the habit tracker really helped me (while I was doing it) in January. The main problem is that I can't access it to document on (I can read it) on my phone, and it is an extra step to turn on my computer to chart. So I made my own habit tracker I have posted on the bulletin board in my room! I track my weight in the morning, even though I also track that in my app, I have my couch to 5k chart up, and the habit tracker that I update at night. I have a 5k scheduled for march 25, the perfect timing for a green March! I am excited for it, as it's on the runway at our local airport. Nice and flat 😂 Plus airports have always fascinated me and it's cool to think I can run, well jog/walk, on the runway!6 -
Hello,
I'm slowly catching up with everyone's news. I recently got my results back from my hormone test. It came with some basic explanation but I won't get to see the naturopath until mid March. I also can't get into my regular doctor because he just had a new baby and will be out until April. Basically my progesterone, estrogen and testosterone are in great shape. However my stress hormones are absolutely off the charts. I am making a lot of cortisone and cortisol and I do not metabolize it. I show signs that this has been going on for awhile and is related to stress. My test also looked at some organic acids and nuero byproducts. I have significant deficiencies in vitamin b12. I was also low in several other things that are related to not absorbing fats appropriately. These are affecting my energy level and are disrupting my adrenal function hence my high stress. This also explains why my cholesterol is so low at 113.
I have a lot of work to do to get these things straightened out. Obviously weight loss isn't going to happen with my cortisol levels being almost double the top range number. My wellness coach looked over my results and gave me some good ideas. Here's what I'm working on right now:
⭐sleep a lot more
⭐move exercise to the afternoon
⭐change work out to gentle reformer pilates
⭐add meditation, sauna and/or down time
⭐reduce caffeine
⭐take bile salts to help with digestion due to no gallbladder
⭐take supportive supplements:B12, B6, magnesium, vitamin C and adrenal support
⭐eat 3 meals and no snacks (medium carbs higher healthy fats)
⭐manage work stress
I'm also doing a DNA health test to see if it has any insight into my current issues. Luckily I had good levels for all areas related to gut health. Happy to see the work I have done in that area are paying off.11 -
@eggfreak I hope things improve for your brother.
Congratulations on your move @wishfuljune - it sounds like all systems go!
@Micki48 good luck in your house search. I am sure that things will come together for you and your son.
@bowens1973 @ashleycarole86 it looks and sounds like the trip of a lifetime, but hopefully you'll have many more such trips together.
@Evmakeschanges I'm sorry about your friend.
@jugar I am not a burpee fan either. I have short arms and long legs, so find it very difficult.
@conleywoods the tests sound really comprehensive, and hopefully it will give you some answers plus a way forward.
I don't feel full of cold now, but my energy levels are still very low. I can manage about 4 hours of anything before I'm ready to crash - so being up at 5.30 this morning, I feel done for the day already and it's not even 10am!
It was a fairly quiet weekend. We did the food shop on Friday night, then on Saturday the butchers and a couple of allotment trips. I've been putting in 8ft posts which will hold wires supporting the raspberry and blackberry canes. We bought what is basically a giant corkscrew to dig 2ft holes, which was quite hard work but oh so satisfying. On Sunday I fitted the last of the 4 posts, pottered a bit, and did a garden centre trip. Yesterday I was in the office for an all day meeting; definitely snacked on a few too many sweet treats that were provided, but tea was a roast chicken dinner with plenty of veg.
This morning I've been to see my trainer and after various warm up exercises I did some snatches and the first was 'ugly but you're strong and get away with it' followed by some very good ones. I have a large chest, so the bar can't exactly travel upwards in a straight line! My lifts are all safe and solid now, we're just fine tuning which is a process that I enjoy. We identified an Olympic lift that we've missed; the split squat, which I think will be good for core strength and hip strength/mobility - important for running.
Today I have meetings with very few breaks, but I did manage to protect an hour at lunch time. I'm planning to go for a walk to the allotment so I can water the garlic in the greenhouse. It's just about light enough to go for ~30 minutes after work, except I have a 4.30pm meeting and I'm not expecting to be done much before 6pm. I will go on the treadmill later even if it's just for a minute, as I didn't get any meaningful exercise yesterday. Today's chore list is short and I intend to keep it that way.
I can't stop yawning, and I'm hungry so it's time for a snack; Tuesdays are still my hungry day!8 -
@eggfreak I think I missed the post about your brother. 🙏 Your family has been through a lot these past few years.
@conleywoods wow, that sounds like a lot of good, jpdul information. I actually didn't know you could have your cortisol checked. I might ask for that. I am glad you are switching to gentle workouts because I have read hiit is not the best for cortisol. I am working on the 3 meal thing. I am following a naturopath Dr. on Instagram and she talks a lot about that.
I had a nice 3 day weekend. I worked out, meal prepped, finally got to take the kids to the zoo. The zoo is fairly ugly this time of year, but they desperately needed some time out of the house since it has been so cold. I stuck with my 3 solid meals yesterday. I feel good. The scale is up.🙄 We will see what tomorrow's weigh in brings.5
