CW will be done tomorrow, if I have 3 AAA batteries to replace the ones in my scale. The last time I used it I noticed it showed 3.4 lbs showing before it cleared to zero. Perhaps that’s why last weeks seemed much higher. We shall see in the morning!
Snowstorm central tonight and tomorrow. Stay tuned!4 -
Wow! Just finished reading 76 posts. You all have been doing great. Amazing green losses. Real understanding about listening to our bodies, cool trick to learn about stomach acid and stressors and ways to be it. You all rock. That’s why I love this group.
I feel like a broken record but this week was stressful…again. On Monday, I took a half day from work while we frantically did the paperwork to make an offer on a home. We were outbid even after offering $35k more than asking price. I was ok at first but later in the week it hit me. Getting a house in this CRAZY housing market felt impossible. Houses are overpriced and often quite ugly and in need of repairs. Then I thought of my beautiful home and garden in Greensboro and how we are about to list it to sell. Then I’ll be technically “homeless” (don’t worry we are in a nice rental for now -practice gratefulness and breathe) I started crying and boy oh boy couldn’t stop it for a while. I don’t cry often. That’s probably why. I took it as cathartic and accepted it. I was still weepy the next day. Thought of my favorite childhood picture book The Little House and seeped some more. Then a beautiful classical piece on the way to work had me weeping some more - found out it was Copeland HOME!!!! From the movie Our Town. Geez! Then I didn’t want to look at any homes, but today we saw two more with our realtor. Uninspiring and did not feel like HOME. So, I think that’s enough for this weekend. Maybe I’ll look at one on Sunday a few streets from my daughter. It’s priced kinda high so I don’t know.
Anyway, I haven’t logged. Weight is slightly up so I’m waiting until tomorrow. Ate out 2x today so it may not come down. We had lots of running around to do.
We are having a crazy, windy, rainy storm currently. I can hear my chimes outside ringing nonstop.
I’ll talk to you beautiful folks tomorrow.7 -

Good morning WaistAways!
PW: 175
CW: 174.8
I'm good with this 🌿🥝🍀💚
I had a whoosh on Friday morning to 173.4, and I was like OH NO, this is going to be so hard to compete with next week if it sticks! So actually, this very small weight loss is going to help me stay green, and I'm happy. Plus, in the back of my mind, I know I weighed in in the 173s recently, lol.
Which, for my height, was in the OVERWEIGHT rather than OBESE category!!!! 🎉🎉🎉 I know BMI is a flawed indicator, but I'll take any little win along the way, here.
I'm diligently logging everything in MacroFactor, and because I'm using it like I'm supposed to, it's giving me the proper TDEE data. Funny how that works, when I use the tool properly, it works properly.
On track to hit my goal for the year around August, which works well for the way the year usually happens for me- somewhere around October, I fight like heck and only manage to maintain weight through the holidays, what with all the treats around. And if I don't fight, I do gain. So my goal of 160 for the year, if I'm going to hit it, needs to be hit before October.
You can see it here- and last year my holiday period started a little early with getting COVID, then a big vacation, in September, haha.
Anyway! I've jawed on enough, I think. I've read all your posts, all this green and all this effort is extremely inspiring. You're all doing great. Today for me is chair choreography class and splits class, and I'm making burgers for the fam for dinner. I'll likely eat a light lunch to make sure I have the calories, because your girl loves a cheeseburger (although I can forego the bun if I want to save a couple more calories for the beer, haha).
Have a great day, everyone!5 -
Happy happy Saturday! Over all I had a pretty good week - super busy but I worked on getting my steps in (success) but also a huge awakening!! Tuesday after work we ran to town quickly to pu a couple of things … I was running out of greens for lunch. Stopped at Aldi and picked up some salad kits (I throw away the dressing and use my own b/c it is so bad!!) and at the very end because we were tired and didn’t like the idea of going home to make supper we picked up one of their pizzas. Yeah they are usually pretty good but I’ve been making my own homemade pizza latey - a healthier version and buying a store bought factory made pizza just doesn’t cut it. Of course I had to look at the ingredients and saw soybean oil when I got home. That ruined it for me. I now have homemade pizza dough in the freezer so it never happens again ☺️ lesson learned and moving one!!

FYI: I’m trying to eat Mediterranean at least 90% - I’m a 2 time cancer survivor and currently dealing with a fatty liver and a couple of leaky heart values. I’m blaming chemo and radiation! (Not my past eating history) ☺️

It's a very snowy morning here. @jugar you must be ecstatic! Fluffy fluffy snow and mild temperatures allow for lots of outdoor time. I will be sure to start my fitness tracker once I'm outside shovelling. I use the GPS tracking option and I find it hilarious to look at all my squiggly lines wandering randomly around the property once I've finished. A skill I have apparently NOT acquired in my 42 years is how to push a shovel in a straight line! The snow isn't scheduled to stop until after dinner so there will be a couple of trips out there plus likely going to help a neighbor with theirs.
Thank you nature, for providing me with this free, at-home workout program! 😉 Lol5 -
Morning all!
@CupcakeCrusoe I could so relate to what you were saying but my weigh-in day happened to fall on my whoosh - I was 2 pounds lighter on Thursday when I weighed in than I was the day before, so that makes for an uphill climb when it comes to making week 2 green!
And then, I had a hard day Thursday and pizza night was on order which is fine if I track but I totally went nuts and ate a ton of food.
Yesterday was better, but not much.
I have a lot of going on this weekend but I want to make sure I get workouts fit in there too.5 -
Happy Fancyman! (story - years ago, we hired a prof from the US who spoke no French. Part of the immigration process in Québec is a series of free French classes. He took the classes happily, but thought it was so weird on the Fridays that everyone was wished a "bonne fancyman". It really confused him. Finally we relieved his confusion and told him it was "bonne fin de semaine"! Have a good weekend! In France, they say "weekend", but somehow we are more old fashioned here in Québec and use the long version of fin de semaine. In the local accent, it does kinda sound like fancyman)
Now. I am putting my foot down.
Please do not apologize when you have a gain, or when things do not go as you had hoped. Try hard not to even think it. In the ensemble I played with for something like 30 years, we had one rule. When you are working hard out there on the edge, trying new things, and searching for the way that really works, apologizing when you mess up is equivalent to calling everyone else in the group a (insert horrible word here). It accuses them of not understanding that you are daring, trying, discovering ways that don't work, or just having a crap day. Well, we understand. We are all a work in progress all the time, and a week with a gain is a learning experience, a vacation, a time we let things go a bit, or just one of those hormonal or complicated-human-body flukes. It is hard also not to feel bad when those things happen. But you are here with friends who have all felt the same things.
So, yes - the energy to build a green March is strong. It feels great! We are doing really well! But it is not going to be perfect all the time. Take that red week and build from the knowledge, pick yourself up and keep trying. Go ahead and stamp your foot, rant, feel like throwing something, but no need to apologize. Figure out what didn't work, and try not to do that in the next week. Or try something else that might or might not work. Go for it!
Hugs to you all7 -
Fantastic point @jugar and a good message for the team!
I am guilty of letting perfectionist thoughts become the enemy of good progress overall.
The fact is, we're here, showing up, and doing the best we can. And we'd better enjoy the journey, whatever it is, because none of us deserve to wait for happiness. Let the process of working towards your goals build you up, not become a source of feeling less than!
Bonne fancyman indeed!4 -

Greetings fancy friends!
Things are looking good for this week, but I already feel myself caving a bit as such a successful week comes to a close. If you're in the same boat, but sure to pick up and get back to the success energy, even if it is only one little thing per day. No zero days - don't go to bed at night without one little thing. And then thank yourself tomorrow
I had the most fabulous snowshoe expedition today. After about a foot of snow, and more falling, I just wandered in the woods and enjoyed being out there. It was really "slowshoeing" - it was deep, so breaks were frequent. But that is when I could listen to the crows, the wind, the little sounds, and just breathe the clean cool air. Ahhhh.
So let's get set up for a good week 2, everyone! I'll be travelling down to my dad's for his 95th birthday. I'll also bring my flutes to my favourite repair guy who lives not too far from there, so I'll have a few days hanging out with the happy pappy, and come home with adjusted and happy flutes. Even the evil piccolo of doom will be sounding good
What's your plan for this week?7 -

Yay for batteries! Let's hope I can stay green for the next 4 weeks.
I have a few more things to do before bed tonight but wanted to be sure to post my weight before too late. What a lovely snowstorm we had. I chuckled at the notion of "spring cleaning" already...that's at least 2 months off, you all...at least in Vermont.
Have a great weekend.

I'd also like to share this for anyone who might be interested. There is an online Pilates program that some of us here have enjoyed, or continue to enjoy. I have been using it for quite a while now, and find it a wonderful resource. They are offering a free month of membership to try it out, so if you are interested, sign up! I'm not usually into sharing things that might be like advertising, but I receive nothing if you decide to try it, and just can confirm that it is a good resource. There are tons of Pilates videos at all levels, and lots of other information.

Hello,
I had a long day of working on a paper for my masters. This one has been taking longer as it will be reused in some capacity in several future classes. I just wanted it finished 😪 it took over 9 hours to complete but I did it! It's turned in and the next assignment isn't nearly as time consuming. I generally love having a shared office at work but one of my coworkers can never tell when I'm trying to get something done. This last assignment I just couldn't do while someone talks at me😅
My success for the day was: I was brave and got on the scale. I'm up to 235 so need to get that under control. I did the stomach acid test @Gidgitgoescrazy recommended and I might have low acid. Just one little mini burp 7 minutes into the test. I remembered to take all my supplements. I also roasted a turkey for dinner and to have leftovers for easy week night dinners.
I did take a small break and walked down to the 100 year old orchard we have on an old homestead. My husband has been getting the apple trees shaped up. I had a nice sunny walk through the snowy field and got to warm up by the fire my husband had to clean up the trimmings. I'm planning some proper exercise tomorrow. I will do a little more homework and then save the rest for paper work time at work. My husband and I have massages tomorrow afternoon. I'm sooo looking forward to that!5 -

WED: 14213
THURS: 15176
FRI: 5742
SAT: 9286
TOTAL: 85535
GOAL: 91000
I was nearly 6,000 steps under goal. We had a lot of floor play time with the grands on Friday, but that's what they wanted to do. We built things with magnetic blocks. We play the way they want to play, so there's that. Absolutely no regrets or sad feelings about that. I'll sacrifice steps to make memories any day. I was pleased to increase steps yesterday with it being a weekend day. I'm usually not as active on the weekends. I say not as active, really I just mean there are not many steps. Cleaning the house, cutting the grass on a riding mower, making shirts, etc. A lot of things that require me to stay in one spot.5 -
March Week 1 Exercise:
Sun - 9207 steps + 46 minutes Peloton
Mon - 9602 steps + 32 minutes Peloton
Tues - 9346 steps
Wed - 8453 steps + 22 minutes Peloton
Thurs - 5005 steps
Fri - 7967 steps
Sat - 4983 steps + 77 minutes Peloton3 -
Did a long ride on the Peloton yesterday because Brad and his friend signed up for the Okanagan Gran Fondo in July and they convinced me and his friend's sister to join too. So, I'll be doing the 153 KM distance in around 17 weeks, so there's no time to spare to start training. I will do most of training on our Peloton because it's winter (and the snow just keeps coming) and because I prefer to ride inside. I will have to do rides on the bike outside to practice of course, but from a fitness perspective I intend to make my efforts count indoors. I am mostly going to work on building my fitness base for the next 6 weeks or so and then I'll start into my formal 10 week training plan.4

@jugar Safe, uneventful travels
We tried the acid stomach test. Four hours later I still haven’t burped 🤷🏼♀️. I will try again tomorrow but have added raw, unfiltered apple cider to my shopping basket.
I want to make a comment in response to @jugar ‘s post about the scale and results (page 5 I think). I can remember the back end of last year having a gain every week, at least that’s what it felt like.
Come Friday I would be very anxious and dreading seeing the number on the scale. Sometimes knowing why and sometimes not knowing why I was up. I contemplated leaving the team because I was continually waiting for the ‘Loraine, you’re dragging the team down and we don’t need that’ but it never came. What I did get was support, good info, kind words and a whole lot of encouragement and patience.
I decided in December to get focused and make a commitment to my future self. I am 59 in 13 days which means I’m 60 next year and time is flying by. I need to make good habits muscle memory so that when I do have a lull, my set points are 5-10lbs and not the current 25-30 that I seem to go back to every time. 30lbs is so hard to work off. And I’m tired of the yo yo. Tired of the disappointment in myself (of which im totally in control of). Anyways, I wanted to share this for any new team members who may be going through the same thing.7 -
Well said @LoraineGB!1

Saturday: 8,642 + 30 min jog @ 4.5 + 20 min weights
Tuesday morning, I went to the gym before work, then worked a lot in the yard later on. I can't even count the number of squats I did outside. Spring clean up in the yard is good exercise! However, the next few days I didn't want to move! 😂
My plan for this week is to continue tracking everything I eat. I have plans to meet some friends for lunch on Tuesday and have already looked at the menu. I will most likely have either a salad or the grilled chicken with veggies.
I went for a walk outside with my husband at Country Park and went to my cardio dance class. I'm trying to enjoy the next few days outside before the temps drop again. It's 67F and sunny right now, tomorrow 69 and Tuesday 72 🌞6
